Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! It's another cool morning here. And it looks like it will be a lovely Autumn day. I still have some house cleaning to do, as that never goes away. Then again, no one is coming to visit so there's no hurry. LOL.

    Hey Ed!
It is as I am typing 1 minute before the start of the fall equinox! I don't have an egg. Let me know if you stood one on end! LOL!

Gym, and chasing around looking for a couple items that I want for the garden. Going to try my hand at a fall garden. A few green things like some swiss chard, and lettuces. Nothing exciting. My thinking is soon the leaves will fall, which will be a pain to keep out of the little garden, but after that it should get some decent sunshine... time will tell. I couldn't find what I needed at Home Depot. Things were in 'disarray' in the garden area. pots of stuff blown over, etc. But, I came home and checked my list with Lowe's and found most everything. So.....

Also some gym time...if I go today, I will have completed my September Apple Watch goal. I am in fear of what they have up their sleeves for October. The last 3 months have been super easy goals...So I just have that sinking feeling that while the past 3 months have been 'easy' the 'killer' month is coming...LOL!

So, that's my day. Ted has the day off so he's around to take care of Maya. He's offered to take me to Pikes, but we need to talk about that.. Pikes is great in the spring, and for fall plantings of trees, shrubs. Not so great about fall veg gardening, or at least that has been my past experience. Things were different when Pikes was still family owned. But they sold out to a California bunch...and are 'different' these past few years. Oh well.

Hope you have a good day..and are enjoying the cooler weather. Are you walking in the mornings?

I watched Emmy and her squishing of the eggs! LOL!
Wonder what her Japanese mayo tastes. Whatever she really really likes it! And her egg sandwich. Wonder if You can buy Tx Toast that isn't buttered? I really don't need to eat it, soooo, its a moot point, right? :)
Ended up going to the Lowes in Suwanne, its about 13 miles, (read 26 miles round trip!) so my car got a little workout as well. (I got everything except the seeds. I'll be patient, and check with the internet tomorrow or Thursday. See you in the morning!

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! It's another cool, wonderful Autumn day. I am still on summer hiatus from exercise walking, but plan to get back into it when the days get a bit shorter. I COULD go and get some groceries today, but I think I will wait until tomorrow or even later. Nothing is quite at critical level yet.

    Good Morning Ed!
I'm on my way out the door. I have Tomato plants to pull and discard, and Rainbow Chard little plants to plant. Also some garlic 'seed'/cloves. I've never bought seed cloves before, I've always just planted supermarket cloves. And I've always gotten good results????

I have an hour, so I need to get going. Video's will have to wait for lunch, which is to be followed by a 45 minute online (Silver Sneakers) beginners balance class. I surely DO need some balance work.

Then I may or may not run to Kroger...like you said, nothing critical, but my Kroger has a bad habit of not fully stocking their brand of Sparkle Water....which makes no sense to me..but that is so true. They liter bottles are on the TOP shelf, so I have issues with getting them. I frequently lie in wait for a taller person to help me. So far I've never had anyone refuse to get the bottles behind the front 2 that I can reach.

Ok, outta here, and into the yard!

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! And it may become thundery Thursday before the clock hits midnight. There is a good chance of rain tis afternoon and evening, with overnight thunderstorms.

Not a lot on the agenda today.

    Good Morning Ed,
Yep, rain. Looks like it may begin mid-afternoon. Just in time for my new hair cut! Boo Hiss!
Today I WILL make my trip to Kroger. I'd like to do a bit more with the garden, but, it will have to wait. Friday is predicted to be wet, so I now have 2 lists of 'To Do's. One for outside and one for rainy days.
I sorta did the Senior Sneakers 45 minute video yesterday...it was way too much like an aerobics class. I never did get the hang of left and right...nor was I quick enough to step up and down on the aerobics steps. So, in time though I started with a group, I'd be going up the step and they'd be coming down already!!! When I did yoga classes at Golds Gym (thru Silver Sneakers) again left and right was an issue. And I'd find myself turning the wrong way, and facing the rest of the class. That gal caught on quickly, and she'd say turn left (followed by looking at the wall, or windows, what ever corresponded to the direction I was supposed to be turned!!! :)

I also got about half of the chard, and a head of garlic planted. Now I need to pull the weeds out of that 4X4 bed, and plant the rest of the chard, and garlic, and the lettuce seeds that I can't find. I have the option to order thru Amazon, but not by the packet..they've amassed 'lettuces' romaine, iceberg, butter, spinach??, and mesculen packets. So, not even half of what I want, for a princely price. Nope.

I see granny is going to make a rice and veg dish...gotta go watch...

Well, I did get my hair cut...and its short and I like it.

I also cooked, for the first time Moo Goo Gai Pan! Simple enough, pretty much follows the 'rules' of Chinese Wok cooking...and it made a ton...said 2 servings...LOL!! I at about half, and there is still 2 more servings to go...more If I Remember To Make The Darned Rice!!! :) Yes, I did, no cooked rice in the refrigerator. But...it was good without!

    Til Tomorrow....

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! Cool and still a bit drippy this morning, and it should remain cool and cloudy all day and overnight, with 15% chance of rain all along.

Dinner last night, for me, was mac and cheese with tuna. Kiara and Lilo enjoyed the water drained from the tuna can.

For J, dinner was prepared in stages and we cooked that dinner together. Either one of us can make Asian stir fry sort of things, but they seem to come out amazingly good when we do it together, with me (and Eduardo) acting as sous chef, adviser, and a second hand/utensil stirring in the wok when needed.

At lunch time I fried the tofu triangles.

After my dinner, I chopped up an onion, a bell pepper, some broccoli, and some carrots, and made some tasty (and spicy) sauce.

When J was ready, we heated up J's stainless steel wok and got to it. Starting with the carrots, the veggies were stir fried. Then the tofu was added, to heat up. Then three scrambled eggs, and, when the eggs were done and broken up, two cups of pre-cooked rice, and the bowl of sauce I had made up.

The end result was a HUGE wok full of Thai style fried rice. A bit heavy on the sauce, but very tasty. I didn't have a plate of it, but did have a bite (and another for breakfast this morning) and it was heavenly. There is plenty for at least two more big meals there. I may have a small bit with lunch today. J, of course, will have a nice plate of it for lunch.

I need to get to the store soon, as the last onion went into the fried rice.

    Good morning Ed!
Loved your cooking of the fried rice, and break down of individual responsibilities! Not to be 'left out', I filled both jobs yesterday. I made Moo Goo Gai Pan. In stages. Made the marinade for the tofu, and the cooking sauce, and drained and pressed the tofu before I left for my hair cut...and then came home and chopped a few veg's and cooked. Like yours I made a ton of food. It was supposed to be 2 servings?!?!? I have the left overs in a 4 cup bowl, and that bowl is full to the brim! I made a pot of rice already this morning, so I know there will be at least 2 dinners of Moo Goo Gai Pan in my future!

I am hoping there will be some 'drying' time not today, as everything is soaked, but maybe Saturday, and Sunday morning. Then I will pull some weeds, and plant the last 6 chard plants and a few more cloves of garlic...and WHEN I can get my hands on some lettuce seeds they too will be planted. I don't eat a whole lot of lettuce, especially in the winter, but I hope to find seeds for a bit of spinach, a few radish seeds, (for the green tops), and a packet of arugula which can be eaten raw or cooked along with the spinach and radish tops!

Hope your day goes very well, and isn't this a perfect day for napping??? I think YES!!!

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! Not so soggy today, but it is a bit foggy and sticky this morning. It should be a relatively cool, partly cloudy day.

I got out to Kroger early this morning for a few things that were at critical point, like onions. I can't be out of onions for very long!

I need to run the dishwasher today, probably after lunch, and possibly do some laundry. As it's a weekend, I do need to drive J's car around a bit at some point to keep it alive.

    Good Morning Ed
I watched the soy curls video, and ordered bag of from Amazon, as I've never seen them here in any of my shoppings...then I watched the no oven baked bread????? As the fb shorthand goes WTH??? It had no sound? and she dirtied a couple of bowls, a skillet, and I don't see it being any faster than traditional. I haven't baked bread in quite awhile, I may make some this winter, but I think I'll stick with my traditional bread making steps! LOL

Hope your day goes well...makes me feel totally lazy that you've already been out gathering groceries, etc. (Feels kinda good..lol!) Will probably get on a first name basis with Mr. Washer and Ms Dryer myself today. Unless Ted needs to do laundry. He may need to wash work clothes, and I'll give him dibs on that.

Doubtful that I will cook today. Have left over Moo Goo..and some veg's from a frozen package of 'Mexican' veg's. To that I also have rice from yesterday, and black beans from 2 days ago. I made a burrito bowl for breakfast! Nice change from the steel cut oats.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! A bit cool and sticky out there, and the chance of rain increases as the day progresses. I need to get laundry folded and put away, and J's car needs to be exercised. I may stop at a grocery during that exercise, but probably not.

Dinner last night was a roasted vegetable assortment of bell pepper, onion, potato, and cauliflower, with chickpeas, all tossed in a little olive oil with east Indian spices and baked at 425 for one hour in an oiled 9x13 glass baking dish.

    Good Morning,
As I typed Good Morning it occurred to me that I didn't see an email from Mike. That's unusual.
    Hope all is well.
It rained here this morning which pretty much dented my outdoor plans. Stayed up late watching the hockey game..which went into the 5th period. I was exhausted just watching that much hockey! I really wanted to see Dallas win, for no particular reason except both the boys are very much for Tampa Bay??? So none of us really have a 'pony' in this playoff, but after having none I'd have watched almost ANY games.

My laundry yesterday is all clean, folded and put away! Today its Ted's turn at the washer and dryer! Glad mine is done.

More left overs to eat. Added some veg. dumplings to go with the Moo Goo Gai Pan last night. Needed chili oil, and I had none. So, thinking back to my Chinese cooking days, I made chili oil. It turned out decent. Used wrong oil, but it was hot, that hot that isn't instant, but slowly builds til you realize you're on fire! Love it!!! So, for all my days of soy sauce, and vegan oyster sauce, etc. the scale this morning was depressing. :(

Ok, our break is over....time to get going again. Oh, and J's fried rice looked very good! and it reminded me that I need to make a Whole Foods run....for snow peas of all things. Kroger had some...a decent size bag for $4...and I only needed a hand full, soooo no snow peas for my Moo Goo... I KNOW they used to have open baskets of them, Then they got those glass door cases, and stuff has been eliminated or prepackaged, etc. and if the Veg/Vegan area gets any smaller it will disappear into the canned biscuits. Oh well, I can still get what I need, just not at Kroger. :(

Well, I did stop at a grocery while exercising J's car, and picked up a few things that were about to go critical, as well as three packages of chuck steak in the manager's special bin at Kroger. Two of the packages are in the freezer but I left one in the refrigerator to be braised tomorrow (Monday).

I also got all the new license plate expiration stickers attached to the respective plates and even made sure that each one was put on the correct plate, and got the registration paperwork properly stored in glove compartments, and the saddle bag of the motorcycle.

Then I got my new insurance card put away in my glove compartment, though technically I haven't paid that yet...but I will shortly, as it is due on the 6th of October.

I still haven't folded any laundry yet, but I will. Eventually. Maybe even today.
