That was relatively painless. Well, not to my credit card. LOL. But I was at the tire store less than an hour, so I was happy with that. Since it was right near Kroger, I ran through there while out, and picked up a few things.

When I got home, the dishwasher cycle was finished so I put the groceries away, put the clean dishes away, and then started a cleaning cycle in the dishwasher, as I do each month around this time, to hopefully keep mineral deposits down and everything all neat and spiffy.

Lunch will be a vegetarian "not tuna" salad I made with mashed chickpeas, wrapped in CHEESE wraps instead of bread or tortilla wraps. We can have a few chips with it for carbs and crunch. J prefers I not actually call it "not tuna" and just leave tuna out of the name, so I call it chickpea (or garbanzo) sandwich spread instead.

Chickpea sandwich spread wraps. The wrapping is cheese.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! It's a teensy bit less sticky this morning, but still pretty warm. Overall it is supposed to be a nice day, partly cloudy with a minimal chance of rain. I don't think I need to go anywhere today, but will probably either drive J's car around for a while or persuade J that we need to drive it around together, just to get a little mileage on the new battery.

    Hi Ed,
Nearly nap time....Hockey game starts at 3p. today.
Enjoy your outing with J's car, or your road time together, which ever :)
I know I surely enjoyed being out with Ted yesterday. Even with the down pours! In town only...dry pavement here in Gwinnett. Seems it was an event for inside the perimeter only I think.
If we could just get the humidity down a few points this would be fab. weather! Nice weather no matter!
Doing a bit of laundry, and some time with my pillow first!

    Enjoy your day :)

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! It's warm and a bit sticky but will be both warmer and (probably) stickier later, as is normal for a mid-September day here in Peachtree Corners.

I need to get J's car over to the emissions check place. And maybe do some laundry. Dishwasher is running now.

    Good Morning Ed
I got my attention disrupted on my way here...Grandma and her cooking. This time it was heads and heads of cauliflower, followed by several other video's....how time flies! I may have also learned a new way to cook turnips! That would be a plus!!!
Today a trip to Kroger, and hopefully then some gym time, and a major loading of stuff going to Good Will or Salvation Army.. I really don't see a nap time, do you? Hmmmm.

Hope your day goes well, and that it doesn't take long to get the emissions done for J's car.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! A bit wet out at the moment but it is supposed to get dryer as the day progresses. We got a few sprinkles yesterday, and woke to a bit more rain. It may end soonish.

Yesterday turned out to be more of a manic Monday than expected, as I had forgotten about an appointment to do the 5,000 mile maintenance on J's motorcycle. So I followed J, we dropped that off and went to a rather late lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, a Thai restaurant owned and operated by a friend.

This was my first time eating out in a restaurant since February (which may well have been at the same restaurant) and I was a bit uneasy about that but we did, of course, have the option to get it to go and eat in my van. But as we were a bit late for lunch, we were the only dine in customers, which eased my anxiety considerably. We had a nice, chat with the owner, from a bit of a distance, and when leaving I could see that she wanted to give us a hugs, but settled for a bow from J and a wave from me.

About 4:20 they called to say the motorcycle was ready and, as they closed at 5:00, we had to scurry to get there to pick it up. In the scurry, I forgot to grab my nice, hunter green, cloth mask that I had left hanging on the deadbolt of the garage door. So much for my hanging it there so I WOULDN'T FORGET IT. But I didn't really need it as I stayed in the van while J picked up the bike. I keep paper masks in the van anyway, in case of need, and I only stopped once on the way home, to get gas at Kroger, so I didn't get near anyone.

After what felt like an especially long Monday I just got into the freezer and invited the Red Baron to dinner and opened a nice bottle of red wine to go with the pizza.

Laundry WILL happen today. I think. It needs to as all of J's masks need washing, though J may not need to go anywhere for a while.

Today's alcoholic beverage haul from Lidl. A replacement for the Sinful Grin Petit Sirah I drank with last night's pizza. A magnum of sangria. A bottle of Motepulciano D'Abruzzo. And a bottle of rosado (dark rosé wine), that happens to be a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! It's a lot cooler today and is supposed to be very wet. I don't think I need to go anywhere, but do need to take care of the large load in the dryer.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! It's still cooler, and rainy. The rain may taper off this evening. So of course I have a doctor's appointment in Sandy Springs at 9:30. At least they have a (paid) parking garage. That will probably cost me $4 or $5. I will probably get my flu shot while there, and probably the "other" pneumonia shot. I got one of them 6 months ago, but I forget which one, and I seem to remember the doctor promising the other at the next visit. He keeps up with all my booster shots and makes sure I get them all. Even the boosters for what we think of as childhood diseases, that can be rather devastating to adults.

    Hi Ed,
Looks like we're both bound to be drivin' in the rain! (Singing optional) My Cardio appointment is at 11:15 in John's Creek. I'd like to complain, but I've been lucky at avoiding rain for a very long time, so I really can't complain. I too need a flu shot. That will be a trip to Little Doc, as last year I got mine at Publix, and got a $10 gift card for my trouble!! :) I felt a bit bad in January when she asked why I didn't get my flu shot.....
Sweet Potatoes, carrots for days, and what the heck is Emmy up to today? LOL!! That girl.

Good luck to both of us with our doc's today, and don't drive over underwater bridges. Unless you just WANT to go swimming. :)

The timing for my visit to the cardo doc was excellent. Although there was rain as I went, only drizzle on the way home, and by the time I put the groceries away (WF), it had stopped, so dog, cat, and I went for a short walk. Now I've had my lunch and find a nap is in order.
Cardio doc says I'm fine. Nothing to worry about unless I have pains, etc. I like my cardio guy!
Little doc sent me with such a grave look on her face, and no explanation at all. I was concerned. I sometimes just toss in an extra beat. Am I aware of it? no. Does it bother me that it happens? no... Well he says, if it becomes a problem, etc. there are pills, but we pretty much don't do anything to treat this occasional extra beat!!! FANTASTIC!!!.
Hope you got your needed injections, that all was well for you, and we ca both have a nice rainy day afternoon nap!

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! It looks like we are past the rain for a bit, while still a bit cooler, though warm enough! And it's sticky out there with the humidity at 100%.

I have to take Lilo to the vet this afternoon.

    Hi Ed!
    I'm a 'bit' late today???!!:)
Made a trip to the gym, that was interesting, as about 3 a.m. the security company called...something happened to one of the windows...like it was in a million of those pebble like pieces, still in the frame. Well. they've all looked at film, no cars, no people around...no gun shots in the widows, etc. They're not sure exactly WHAT happened. The did speak of someone who said it was probably a shift in the building/frame that popped it. Guess who was glad she could go get on a machine, and not help clean up!! Window was to be boarded up, and a new one manufactured to be installed in 7-10 days.
Stopped by Publix to pick up lotto tickets and came home. Fed me, walked dog and treat given, Tom E who also went out demanded a treat too!! It wasn't worth a fight. Tom got a treat! LOL!
Nice nap and my brother called to just say hello and make sure we were doing well in GA.
    Then I finished my nap!
Just finishing my dinner and have nothing on my mind for the evening. Old game shows probably. Will see what Ted has up his sleeve.

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! My arms are feeling much better this morning after Thursdays shooting...er I mean injections at the doctor's office. My watch claimed I got NO sleep Thursday and it's not totally wrong.

My left arm started hurting a short time after the the Thursday flu shot in that arm, as usual, but not really as badly as some years. My right arm, which took the pneumonia vaccination, seemed fine for several hours, so I laid on that side for my Thursday nap, and when I woke up my right arm was no longer fine. I suspect that my laying on it may have restricted blood flow and kept everything concentrated in that muscle. By bedtime Thursday night I could barely move my right arm, the pain was really bad, and I was having some chills and hot flashes, with a lot of sweat.

Now the mild chills and hot flashes, with sweat, are not unusual the night after such shots, but along with the really hardened shot site, and the lack of mobility that it caused, I just couldn't get to sleep or get comfortable so got back up and sat up in the living room with an ice pack pressed against it. That helped a little, and I dozed a bit on the couch. Finally, in the wee hours, it did soften a bit and I regained some mobility. I took my serape and curled up in the guest room to toss and turn the rest of the night, so that I wouldn't keep J up all night, as J had to work Friday, albeit only across the hall from the master bedroom, in the home office. It felt to me like I got at least a little sleep but my watch didn't seem to think so.

When I got up yesterday, Friday, I was pretty zombied out but made it through the day fine, got Lilo to the vet, where she got shot herself, antibiotic for the urinary tract infection that I had suspected, and they confirmed, and we had our usual Friday night pizza and a movie or Broadway show. I omitted the usual bottle of wine to go with the Friday night out at home.

Last night, I took an acetaminophen with hydrocodone at bedtime to help ease the remaining pain, and help with sleep. I definitely got more sleep last night, though I feel like I could have stayed in bed a bit longer. LOL.

There is still some residual pain, though not much in the left arm. The right arm is still worse, but definitely getting better. I expect it will take at least a couple more days on the right arm.

    Good Morning Ed!
Sorry you've had such a reaction to your injections on Wednesday. You were miserable!
I still need to get my flu shot, and then I'm caught up on the boosters, etc.

My hero died yesterday. She put up a good fight all these last years. What really got my undies in a wad, was within hours..hours Mitch M was declaring they'd fast track the new nominee thru the senate before the New Year...the lady is DEAD Mitch not even 24 hours. You could have said something nice to the family, expressed sympathy in words or whatever...but no you had to make it political. I understand the political advantage this gives the court, and all that, but geeze man, at least let her lie in peace for 24 hours! So classless, crass and rude.

Cleaning day. And what??? I dunno. I"ll see how the day pans out! I do need to cook a pot of rice...maybe even a pot of beans...I could do some prep work for a stir fry?? I might just have a good fall nap!

I watched granny's video with the pasta and peppers...looked good enough to eat!! LOL! Enough hot stuff, red and green sauce and red flakes, etc...makes my mouth burn just to think of it!!! You'd like it!!!

Hope your day goes well and that you too can enjoy a nice fall nap!

    Hi Ed!
Where was I this morning? I dunno, was hoping that you might know??? LOL!
It was a bit chilly this morning! And very very nice this afternoon. Me and my 'walking stick' spent some time outside just walking around looking...tomato plants need to be trashed, a dead butterfly bush needs to be uprooted and also discarded. And some pruning and weeds.. I think I will take a bit of time each day and see what I can do...the rest will be up to Ted!
I'm hoping to find some chard plants and lettuce seeds. One year Jenn put some dirt in a galvanized tub they had for icing drinks, and planted lettuce. It was a leaf lettuce and stayed beautiful all winter long. I'd like to give that a try!

So, did you get the cars exercised today? Mine will get a bit on Thursday, I have a hair appointment!..Hair on the floor for sure! Its been 6 months, and my hair is only about 2 months from shoulder length....no, nope, no way! nope!

Hope your evening is pleasant, and your night restful...

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! It's delightfully chilly today, and will stay fairly cool all day. I have nothing critical on the agenda but may do a little house cleaning.

I got both cars out for Sunday morning trips, about half an hour each. When I did my car, that half hour was split as I drove to a somewhat more distant Kroger store than our usual one, bought a few things, and returned home with my groceries.
