Howdy all y'all. It's salubrious Saturday! It's a bit cooler today with a good chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Not a lot on the agenda today, as the shopping list has nothing critical.

    Good Morning Ed,
Poor ole Grandma! Always cooking in the most primitive of ways! Ya know, she dies...they gonna starve!!!
Not much on my list either! Good day for a nap, says the woman who's only been awake for a bit over an hour!
I hear the Dyson calling my name...Ted's already done all the other indoor chores, and he's currently cutting the grass. (Dyson thinks my name this morning is 'Guilt') LOL!!

I may do some house cleaning later. I have already run the dishwasher and put all the clean dishes away. And I have done my monthly flush of the air conditioner drain.

I have the clothes washer running a CLEAN WASHER cycle, with only bleach, now, which should be done in about an hour, and I have the coffee/tea maker started on a cleaning cycle of its own, with half a pot of white vinegar put in, the device started, run until some of it dripped through, and then shut off to let the innards soak in vinegar for about half an hour, after which I will turn it back on and let the rest of the vinegar cycle through and then flush it by cycling three pots of fresh water through it.

So I am having at least something of a productive morning.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! It's pleasant enough out there now, but a bit sticky. We are supposed to get to a nice, toasty 90 degrees today with sunny skies. I might get something done today.

    Good Morning Ed!!
It is indeed Sunday...a day of rest and renewal. Also unfinished chores at my house! OOPS!
Had a wonderful rain yesterday evening. Started as an approaching storm, wind, very dark, and then this 'grayness' from across the nasty mosquito pond that the county made when they drained the pond...anyhow, the grayness was heavy downpour of rain...which then calmed down to a nice moderate rain. I'm betting everything looks better today in the yard. Glad Ted mowed it yesterday!

Hockey game tonite at 8, so a nap will be required this afternoon! Enjoyed the game yesterday afternoon, which happened during prime nap time...but I didn't let that keep me from my nap. It was just a bit later than usual! :)

Hope you have a super Sunday, and I will watch grandma cook on several of these video's. I do find them interesting.

LOL! when watching grandma cook, I need two pages open...one with the video, the other on Google...then I can look up these ingredients, Indian words, etc Keeps me busy! :)

Curious about the melon type fruit and good heavens ALL that Sugar!!! YIKES..
And Emmy was very helpful. I've seen those little melon like things in the Mexican Market next door to my gym. Now, next time I will know what they are, and how to use them. Thanks Emmy!!!

Now, after a nice nap, I need to look up how to obtain a paper absentee ballot for our General Election....and if what I just saw on my TV, counties are only required to have one ballot drop box PER COUNTY??? So, there goes my bright idea to drop my ballot at Shorty Howell..(2miles) to, um to??????? Still have time to get this all sorted out in my little brain...

    So, nap time... :):):)
    Byeee!!!

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! Just a teensy bit cooler today, and a teensy bit less sticky. The downhill neighbor was noisily working on his side of the little drainage creek all day yesterday. That made napping a bit difficult but his compressor (pressure washing the fence too) was mostly a regular enough sound that I was able to tune it out, except for times when the cadence occasionally changed.

I need to run the dishwasher today.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! It should be nice today but the next few days show a forecast for possibly lots of rain. We will see.

Might do a little house cleaning today.

    Hi Ed
Busy day. 8:30 blood letting for next weeks visit with little Doc., home, COFFEE and peanutbutter and jelly toast for 'breakfast'..then out to the gym, and a trip to Kroger. I had the same problem you did recently....I spent $60 bucks, but they tell me I 'saved' $17. WOW. feature that??? Oh well, all food will be eaten. I can say I honestly hate the way Kroger's sales tapes print out. Make a preacher say bad words!!
So , after gym and Kroger, I ate the container of sushi, and then the fun began. I so wanted a nap...first it was the cat...whine whine, whine...given food, let outside, played with..and finally settled. Just in time for Miss Maya to wake...needy. Now, she'd been asleep all day, and I was sure she needed, really needed to go outside...so we did that. Gave her her food, and another large bowl of water. That dog drinks more water than I'd have ever believed possible!! Ok, gave snacks...and here comes the cat....what?? So, another half hour and I finally got to go to my room and shut the door! I could have slept well into the night, but up after 2 hours I made myself get up. Tomorrow?? a trip to ATL, dr. Pat, and down the street Whole Foods for my fix of Fried Tofu...and a stop at Trader Joe;s delicious veggie burger!! There is something else, but I can't remember what it is.....brain has gone on on vacation. Wasn't happy with staycation in my skull!!! LOL!

Off to ferret out something that resembles dinner? I think it may well look like a baked sweet potato and a big mound of greens. And a 'treat' of some kind. Might well look just like an apple!

Hope you've had a good day...and are looking forward some rain over the next few days. I know my yard will be happy! (The tomatoes are pretty much 'toast'...I'm thinking of pulling the bedraggled plants and seeing if I can find some rainbow chard plants. I did that several years ago, enjoyed chard all winter and it looked nice too!)

Thanks for forwarding the card from Mike! I will once again send him my mailing address. :)
I am sorry you have ended up being responsible for seeing that I get mail from Mike. On the other hand, we have had some nice lunches...but..shouldn't be your job!

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! A bit cooler with a good chance of late afternoon/evening rain. With the rain there should come a few days of lower temperatures, which I know I will enjoy.

Might hop out to Lidl for a few things this morning.

    Good Morning Ed.
Soon to jump up from my leisurely morning cup of coffee, and get ready to head to Decatur. If my weather app is correct, rain shouldn't start here until after I am home. :) fingers crossed on that!
I want to stop at Whole Foods and get my fix of Chicken Fried Tofu, then on to Trader Joe's...I want another couple of their Veggie Burgers, as they are quite good, and last time at TJ's, as a whim I picked up a bag of Garlic and Onion Pistachios...really good. Flavor not over powering, but definitely tasted. And it takes awhile to eat them...shelling etc. Better that already shelled which I can scarf down very quickly!! Dirty little secret...I will also pick up one of their bars of dark chocolate. Decent enough chocolate, cheap, and lasts about 6 weeks! I don't want/need? chocolate every day, but when its time for chocolate fix, there'd better be some in this house! LOL!!!

Not much else on the agenda...if I get home early enough maybe a nap??? if it just rains, and doesn't storm, that would be a perfect nap!!

Hope you have a good day, that your 'today list' isn't overly long, and that you find some really sweet things to tempt your pallet AND you wallet!!! (that can be a tall order!!)

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! Cooler today with a good chance of mostly afternoon, evening, and overnight showers. We did get some rain yesterday, but Mother Nature was apparently in a good mood and didn't throw in a lot of wind, fireworks, and noise. I did get out to Lidl yesterday and spend more than I needed to, but we will eat all that I bought so it's all good.

Good Morning Ed, she said just realizing it is now afternoon!!
I watched Day 2 of the DNC, and lost all track of time.
My only chore is feeding myself and the 8 paws, and getting the trash together so Ted only has to push the containers to the curb tonite. Oh, I may have to get some exercise into my day :)
I'm sure its good for me, so why do I think of 50 other things to do instead?

Need to watch Emmy, what DOES one do with one pineapple and one cuke??? I'm sure I'll find out! I dare not watch grandma and all those Oreo's. Oreo's my cookie of choice...and they are vegan. (not to mention filled with an awful long list of chemical additives that nobody needs)

Your making me really curious about your new grocer. I may have to come your way for a 'look-see' for myself.

Yesterday I did not go to Trader Joe's....I pulled into the parking lot and parked...got nearly to the store and saw the line of people, long line of people waiting for their turn to shop. Nope, not a planned event in my agenda for the day. I was only stopping for more of the Onion and Garlic Pistachio's, and the TJ frozen veggie burger. I can wait, or I can drive over to the Forum. I think if it had been any time other than noon thirty, there wouldn't have been a line...or????

I hope today brings nice rain, but not storms. We got rain yesterday evening too. I tried to get Missy Maya up and out for a walk before it started...she wouldn't even get out of her bed! Ted came home....and she popped up like, 'FINALLY'.. I get to go for my walk.....little brat dog! LOL!

Take care, grab a nap, and cook some thing really tasty for dinner!!

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! It's a LOT cooler out there this morning, and sprinkling now. I went outside to push the Four O'Clocks back into the flower bed, as they get too tall and lean out (and fall) over the front door sidewalk, especially badly after rain. They lean that way to try to reach the sun. I have to periodically push them back, even without rain, but it's worse right after a rain. I love the flowers, but am not overly fond of the insane growth habit they exhibit where I planted them. They aren't normally supposed to get as tall as they do, but I think, in reaching for the sun, they overreach themselves because of the hedge on the other side of that walk.

Still, they create a lovely display of blooms all summer long, so I am not going to even attempt to remove them. As aggressive as they are, I doubt I could ever completely eliminate them anyway. I still have a few passion flowers growing in the hedge that I have been trying to keep down for years. But I originally planted them, so there is no one else to blame if I find them annoying sometimes. LOL.

We had breakfast for dinner last night. I had scrambled eggs with sausage crumbles and cheese, with one gloriously tall buttermilk biscuit (from the freezer) and some bacon. For J I prepared some hash brown patties in the toaster oven, and made an omelet Palm Beach. For that, the filling was gourmet pimiento cheese with jalapeno.

    Good Morning Ed!
It's gonna be a great day! Overcase, bits of rain now and then...I think I can't hold my eyes open for very long. I hd my coffee, banana and openfaced BB&J...and now all I can think of is wanting a nap.
Stayed up watching the last day of the DNC. way past my bedtime. But glad I watched. I had entertained the idea of laundry, quick trip to Publix, or spending more time culling some things in one of my walk-in closets...but I think rather than moving thru the day in a slo-mo fog, I will actually have a nap, and wake up rearing to go! So, that's my excuse...and I'm gonna really do it.

Howdy all y'all. It's soggy Saturday! We had some really loud, scary thundershowers last night right around suppertime. I had already baked my pizza but J was working late, and right after I started the other pizza, the lights flickered, and then, a minute or two later went out. They were only out for a minute, which didn't really affect the pizza in the toaster oven at all, but the cats and I were quite disturbed by the nearby lightning and instant, very loud thunder.

It's foggy and soggy out there now. I stepped out to check for any visible storm damage from last night's storm, but saw none. Luckily, I did not notice any significant wind, just a lot of rain and the light and noise show.

Not raining at the moment, but this afternoon and evening may be a repeat of last night.

    Oh Ed,
We got the wind part! Boy oh boy. I sometimes stand in the garage and watch the storms and smell the rain, etc. The wind came from south west..(never a good thing) and my big maple trees were doing the dance of the tortured, to the point I decided I need to be in the house and my inside bathroom. Rain!!! OMG! Did it ever. and it went on for nearly 40 minutes. Both animals here were totally freaked out!! Poor Maya was huddled in the bathroon, and Tom E. took refuge under a gate legged table I have...I somehow doubt it was as much a sturdy safe place as he thought it was!!! Oh, well, didn't see any downed limbs, etc. for which I was grateful!!

Outside smells almost musky or mildew-ish this morning. Some drying needs to happen!

Glad you were able to get you dinner baked! Didn't lose power here, and didn't notice any flickering.. but, I do have a gas stove, and I always have candles to burn!

Today the cleaning has begun. I'm waiting for the floors to dry so we can put the rugs back, and then I'll run the sweeper.
Ted's been feeding the birds, and today I saw a Rufus Sided Towhee...I haven't seen one of those for years! So I googled the song and will listen for it when I'm outside.

    Have a great day.

    Good Morning Ed,
I've watched Emmy try to make zuchinii into pineapple, (fail), and grandma made several things that look good, one that I learned about a new veggie, etc. She seems to be showing a lot of junk type foods...(very processed foods, like my beloved Oreo's) etc.. Are you jonesing for a carb blow out? or has she been 'gifted'? by the food companies?
Meanwhile, in the back yard... it will be cooler today, and overcast or cloudy all day which is ok too. Ted just announced at trip to Whole Foods...so I volunteered to go along. I have just about 4 things that need to come from 'somewhere'.
That may be my day! I threatened to sleep til noon, but 7:30 was the best I could do. :(

Are you sure you want to mess up a perfectly good day with Laundry? I mean all the sorting, and moving wet clothes, and having to fold dry items...not to mention PUTTING THEM AWAY??
Why not wait til Monday...thats Wash day anyhow. (just ask any embroidered dish towel your great aunt Maude ever painstakingly made for you) LOL!!
