    Hi
For those of You with a Shoprite nearby the Circular that starts today and runs through Saturday had some Super Coupons in it. Example with a $25 dollar purchase, Butter at 2 for $3, 5 pound bag of Potatoes for $1, SR Brand canned Chicken or Solid White Tuna as a Buy 10 and pay 77 cents per can any over 10 will be $1 each, a Good price and Chicken legs and Thighs for $0.29 a pound. It doesn't get cheaper. As always with their Circular You also need their key tag.

I managed to be at 10.1K steps by bedtime yesterday. So far today I am at 7900 steps, I would have gone further except for my Grocery Store stop where I picked up a refrigerated food that I wanted to get in the Refrigerator despite that I wrapped in in a hand towel. I also Picked up two green pears, Five Bananas, a Apple, and a Nectarine to bring my on hand fruit in balance with the Banana quantity. I eat an apple a day at lunch, Keeps the Doctor Away :) The other fruit joins orange I had and the Apples I had on hand.

Today the weather was 74 degrees out the door at 6:20, a bit more humid so more less the morning felt the same as yesterday. Later today the Humidity is supposed to arrive and go high along with a forecast temperature of 97 for Monday. Saturday highs were in the 97 to 98 degree range here in NJ.

    Have a Nice Sunday

Today was my only play day until next weekend...but it was grand. Walked all around the University of Virginia and adjacent shops. Went shopping with my friend and work colleague (and we did not talk about work!). In San Antonio, we rarely see stars because of all the city lights. Since im 2.5 hours away from DC, i should see them tonight. Im staying over (by myself) at her new house on 10 acres. They don't live here yet because it is still under renovation. Lots of deer; she said there could be bear. So peaceful and emotionally far away from normal life!
    I love fireflies!!!

    Hi Val
I don't think You will have a use for the Shoprite information, others might see it that can use it.

We don't see many stars in the sky here either for the same reason, Only a few of the really bright ones.

The main problem with Deer is that they can really do a job on landscaping :) Not to mention Your car if they run in front of You when You are driving.

I do see fireflies outside the living room window at night as the only illumination is the glow off of the TV.
Tonight we will be watching a old episode of Hee Haw on RFD-TV. Tonight's show is Hee Haw with Loretta Lynn, Ernest Ray, Sons of the Pioneers. Season #8, Ep. 21
We also watch the Tractor Pulls and some of their other programming. My Brother watches this. US Farm Report Season #2016, Ep. 30 U.S. Farm Report provides America with a compelling mix of news, weather, markets and country lifestyle stories.

    Have a Nice Day

    Hi
I'm at 7982 steps currently, Yesterday when I checked before retiring I was over 10K steps, 10,003 to be exact o:)
The weather today is predicted to be the highest Humidity of the heat wave. It was 80 degrees at 6AM :( There is a forecast for Thunderstorms around the state later in the afternoon. South of me in the Trenton / South Jersey the weather report was showing rain at 6AM too, They said mainly south of I-195. When I left the sky was dark and threatening looking by the time I returned home it was clearing and the sun was breaking through and it was feeling uncomfortable and the breeze had died. When I left out the door at 6:25 despite the temperature and humidity it was comfortable with a nice cooling breeze.

A simple I hope question. Does anybody know what the flower in the picture is? You can get a idea of scale by looking at the Electric meter I left in the picture at the top.

In a humorous vein as well as it is so true.

    Hi All,

I am kind of concluding that July has not been the greatest of months. I sprained my other ankle last night going to small group. By the time I got home, I was really in pain, and I still had to feed the dogs, get something to eat, change clothes, and find my ice packs and meds before I could sit and ice it. I had trouble getting the ice where it was needed, as it was hard to reach. However, after several hours of ice and the pain meds kicking in, I figured it would be better after some sleep. In the midst, May May did her weird barking outside. I finally dragged myself there, and realized I forgot a flashlight and could not carry a shovel or pistol. Something was in those bushes, but I do not know what. I am thinking I have another snake. I do feel better this morning and with my foot wrapped can get around. Geez.....

Roger, the bushes look like Hibiscus, but I could be wrong. They are beautiful! Strange, but I have an urge for tacos this morning!

Val, glad that you had that special day, sound like a retreat! We have fireflies too. They are making a comeback after being almost wiped out by DDT and other products years ago. It is nice to see them again. One bug I love; this being the, I swear, bug capital of the world with so many strange and unusual and creepy bugs hanging out here, especially under the yellow bug lights at night. It is kind of prehistoric! We are overtaken by locust this year. May is always got a few, outside, thank goodness. they are huge! Do not know if they are 3 yr, 5 yr, 17 yr or what! I do get to see stars fairly well, though not as well as down the road a few miles were there is more complete darkness. A plus!

Roger, great job on your number of steps, that is really remarkable!

Hang tough, kidlets! Have a good day! Jan B)

Hi All! Roger, i miss HeeHaw, silly laughs (definitely more uplifting than watching the news these days). When i lived in Indiana, many folks i knew had multiple deer-car collisions. At my friends' house, they put up webbing and fencing to prevent the deer from destroying more of their plantings...with variable success. All of Sat night through current, ive been trying to recover ftom heat stroke...i am amazed at how overwhelming it is, and i thought i had done okay with drinking water and periodically going inside a/c. But, clearly that was not enough. Nausea and V, and burning up and suppression of mental function (easily cry, cant figure out normal tasks). Cold baths and cold a/c and refrigerated wet washclothes and cold gatorade help so much! But it hasnt stopped. I thought i felt better this morning, went to the office and it all came back, so I'm back at the hotel. I really dont want to go to the ER.

    Hi Jan
Huh! I can not imagine why You would have a urge for Tacos :)

I have heard three votes for Rose of Sharon and two Hibiscus. I have Rose of Sharon in the backyard and see them walking and they are a much smaller blossom so You could be right. Thanks

I remember back in 5th grade I spent the summer in a town on the Mississippi on Iowa side and one night You could not even see the streetlights for all the flying bugs, possibly Mayflies and then in the morning piles of them below the streetlights making the roads slippery.

My Grandparents had a screen in front of the cars radiator to keep bugs from clogging it.

Currently I am showing 9300+ steps. I may make 10K today too. It was miserable out there walking this morning or I might have gone a little further :)

I am sorry to hear You clobbered Your ankle. Get Well quickly

    Hi Val
I guess that means You do not have RFD-TV or You could get Hee Haw. It is full of laughs and we watch it the same night it airs delayed on the DVR of course.

I have added 4 ounces of Low Calorie GatorAde in the morning before I head out, that is 30 calories per 12 ounce serving so that means I am adding a whopping 10 calories to my daily diet with it.

It sounds as if You did everything possible except possibly taking salt tablets too.
It does sound as if You suffered or are suffering from a mineral deficit.

I hear a thunderstorm approaching and I just heard rain hit the AC unit in the window. I think I might get off and turn off the power supply AC feed just in case.

    Get Better Quickly

    Hi
Shortly after I posted here in the afternoon we lost power, It came back and I microwaved my Veges and Dinner Entree, Moments after the MW beeped the power went out for another 2 hours :( The skys opened up and the wind blew pretty good. The power did not go off until after the rain was nearly finished.

I got out walking around the usual time 8,100+ steps, The outside temperature was better than Yesterday at 74 degrees. Multitudinous small branches down all over, One bigger branch that blocked the sidewalk on the inbound leg of my walk. I heard from another walker I talked to that a nearby street had lots of tree damage too.

If You refer back to the flower picture I was asking about previously shown here with a electric meter for size reference.

and for comparison a picture showing a Rose of Sharon against a fence for a size comparison

    Hi!

That's funny Roger, I was torn between Rose of Sharon and Hibiscus. That is why I was not sure. You may have to find a more detailed picture of each of the leaves! I had watched some of the horse stuff and cooking on RFD-TV when I had it. It was a good channel.

Val, I am glad you are feeling a little better, the heat with the humidity doesn't always hit you at first. I am inclined to think what was going on with your throat may have contributed.

Take care when outside, and take care in general! Jan B)

I made it to Wednesday! I leave here on Friday, and pick Em up on Saturday. The pics that camp posted for her first week (Percy Jackson week) show that she and the girl she met at check-in stayed best friends throughout that week. They did EVERYthing together! That girl was unable to stay for Harry Potter week. Em enjoyed the climbing wall!! So far this week's camp pics only show each kid under the sorting hat. I am still recovering from heat stroke...amazing how this hangs on (my body thermostat is struggling). Take care! Val

    Hi
I am currently at 8,343 steps + One cent for the morning. Yesterday I reached 10,3xx steps total for the day. The weather this morning was slightly warmer than yesterday and it does not feel a if the predicted humidity drop has happened yet.

I stopped and mailed three bill payments and at the Grocery Store. Today I Picked up nicely green Bananas to use once I use up the one left in the refrigerator. If they had been less green I would have only picked up one of the loose ones. I also bought two varieties of Apple, Bartlet Pears, a head of Lettuce, All safely in the refrigerator except for the Bananas. I stocked up today as it is 10% Senior Discount Day :) All that stuff made the Backpack a little heavy but being a frugal type I take advantage of discounts :)

My brother is a somewhat unhappy as he chased a rabbit all over the yard until I got away. He Caught it nipping off his Dill plants. Leaving a short stub sticking up.

    Have a Really Great Wednesday

I was surprised to learn that Rose of Sharon is a Hibiscus variety :)
I always thought of Hibiscus as something that grew in the South and not up here. Live and learn.

    Hi
I ended up with 10.3k steps yesterday, So far today I am at 7025 steps :) Around 10AM I will be heading out to the doctors for the follow up visit and to see if that X-ray showed anything.
Wish me luck, It was 77 degrees at 6AM and humid. So far the plan is to walk there anyway and probably pick up a Decaf on the way home with a little ice in it to make it drinkable right away. I will adjust the route to the doctor to as short as possible or take a longer route based on how it feels when I get out the door.

According to my brother who went out and cleaned his AC filter while I was walking he needed a large blade to cut his way to the picnic table it was so humid :) His words were, I looked like one of the Three Musketeers waving my long blade.

    Have a Great Thursday

    Hi Val
My best guess is either missing lug nuts or really lose hand tightened. Better the mechanic than the owner BTW, sort of poetic justice. Plus when it happens before the customer picks it up there is no way to shift any blame to the owner. Mechanic or so called Mechanic?

Feeling better I hope, And most likely so happy to be able to get going get Your daughter and get home too.

Thanks for the Kind words, Tomorrow may be a different story according to the weather forecast.

I'm very glad that I came here, but I'm also glad to go. I wouldn't mind living out here; so many different places so close together! Although I feel like just getting the kid and going home, we will be visiting friends across the Midwest for a week before we head for home. Today's wether is certain to make driving to Cincinnati even more fun. But first going to the office to fill out expense report!

    Hi
I reached just over 12K steps Yesterday with the secondary walk to the Doctors when I got out of the house at 10:10, It was hot enough to be somewhat uncomfortable and more so on the return trip as it was warmer and I made a stop at the Produce store for a Head of Lettuce for me and Celery for my Brother, He also wanted Pine Nuts for his Pesto, They sold out until sometime today. He ended up going to the Grocery store and buying them as everything else was ready. The Grocery Store was more expensive too.

I Went for a walk today despite the rain, I managed to get to 7K steps despite that. The rain was light heading out and as it worked out harder just after the furthest point in the walk and some wind picked up too.

Here are some Tennessee Ernie Ford songs, I was listening to music today since I finished the Old time radio show I was listening to.

Visiting friends is always a enjoyable time.

Be careful driving, There seems to be rain and local ponding on roads here.

The doctor visit went well, I walked there FWIW. Blood report and X-ray results:
Cholesterol good, Blood Sugar good, Blood Pressure Good, Everything was in the normal range. The PSA was good too, Something I believe You do not have to worry about :)

    The X-ray showed no Problems.

    Have a Nice Day

I lost my post I was just writing. I do not know what I hit. But T.E. Ford came on kinda of by himself and scared Chester and me half to death! I had been listening but was pretty sure I had turned it off!

Roger, so glad your Doctor's went so well. All of your hard work paid off! Good thing as your finding change on your walks have seemed scanty of late! My grandmother loved listening to him and I remember sitting with her. I loved him too. Gee, that was a long long time ago!

Travel safely and I hope easily!

    Hi
I managed 8500+ steps yesterday, That's what I get for getting out in the rain and not waiting for it to end, today 8643 steps already.

I did a quick look at the garden, evidently the other 5 Raspberries that had no fruit are really late fruiting, They have small Berries now and the other 5 are already done producing :)

75 degrees out the door and Rain in the forecast for later today moving in from the West across NJ.

While I was out I was listening to some Petula Clark that I captured from a LP, I paid a Giant 49cents for years ago still sealed, This is one of the Songs:

    Hi All!

I think that I did hit the space bar Roger, so I bet that is what happened! It has been a while since both Chester and I moved that fast! LOL! It amazes me that the plants can grow so differently with almost the same care. They can have a mind of their own. I have not watered my honeysuckle vine in about 3 days. The poor thing looks like it is on it's last leg. It grows wild, too and is in shade some of the time. I thought it would do better, but I am hoping I don't lose it. I was trying to cut down on my walking a little. I guess I had better not cut watering that out!

I am trying to rest the ankles still. Both were giving me trouble this week at the same time and I could not walk for a couple of days at all. This is getting really old! I have been practically immobile the last three weeks of July. That is not how I planned to progress!

It has helped with eating. I do not want to get up and get food--sometimes a good thing! :)

I am planning to listen to your above offerings, Roger. I love Pet Clark. Keep up the good work!

Thinking of you Val! Continued safe travels! Jan B)

I think You caught my aches and pains through the Internet :) My Shoulder stopped hurting a while ago and I was able to walk pain free today even though I did not take any OTC pain killers.

I will I say I know what You mean about getting old, for a while I had to shorten my walking a fair amount even with the OTC Meds and even then by the time I returned home I was in lots of pain.

It is currently raining outside, periods of heavy rain and light rain and then some time with no rain. It rained the other day too, Lucky me, that means no need to go water anything including the hanging baskets. We planted small plants in the baskets we saved from last year and they seem not to need watering every day so far.

It is amazing what You find on YouTube :)

    Good Luck with Your ankles!
Good Luck with the Honeysuckle, it smells so good too.

    Hi
I managed 10,800+ steps yesterday, Today I am currently at 6223 steps + 1.5 cents, I found a beat up 1/2 of a penny in the street :) I was out the door at the usual time too. It must be very humid as I have been out in this temperature before and I never sweated like I did today. 75 degrees out the door and Rain in the forecast for later today moving in from the West across NJ. Saturday the skies opened up for a while and then a steady soaking rain. nearby towns were in the 2.5" to 3.8" range for rain, other areas were higher or lower :)

No need to go watering the plants for a couple of days either.

I ran across this message thread yesterday:
    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10428180/halo-top-iced-cream
and went to where You can buy online, They also sell other brands on this site FWIW.
    http://icecreamsource.com/
I also found through their website http://www.halotop.com/ that it available nearby at the Kings Grocery store.

    Have a Nice Sunday
    Roger

Oh Jan, I feel for you with the loss of mobility. That really is no fun at all. Take care of your ankles! Not only did your sharing about the TENS help me (seriously helps me!), but I keep buying it as a gift whenever friends hapoen to share their struggles with intermittent or chronic pain. So far, there are three more people feeling relief!!! Thank you.
