I was tired of the rain a couple of days ago
I see a mix of adult and this years Deer anytime there is more than one. Even the young Deer are careful freezing in place and watching when they spot You and if You get to close away they all go.
Congratulations on the walking, The last few days have not been good as far as the humidity goes
RogerGood morning. Just overcast here so far this a.m.
I was in classes yesterday, guess I never made it to my computer....sometimes it's good to have a day like that.
It looks like they're shifting the storm a little south today, but you never know. We're a long way inland (at least 50 miles from Chesapeake Bay, about 150 miles from the ocean), and probably about 800 feet above sea level. We will probably get flood warnings, and I'm hoping the wind doesn't get too bad.
Hope the coast up north doesn't get hit for those of you in NJ. Doesn't look like it'll get anywhere near MA.
My SIL left yesterday for California....she's moving. She has friends and cousins there.
No special plans for today.
Happy Wednesday.
Early in the morning Wednesday as I was walking I could hear the low flying jets, Due to the Even lower clouds there was no seeing them.
I did see that the Hurricane is shifting a little further south during the weather forecast portion of the evening news too. They are still predicting coastal flooding from the storm and the shore towns are removing the Summer only structures to protect them and prevent them from being washed into the boardwalk and homes along the shore followed by video of the towns building large dunes along the water side of the boardwalk. They interviewed a 67 year old surfer who said it is good news for surfers and bad news for those further south.
Did You SIL head for a large city where housing costs are terrible or a smaller town in the north where it is a nicer climate too ? When My aunt and uncle lived in Newport Beach they kept a multi day supply of water in the garage in case a earthquake disrupted the water supply and naturally non perishable food.
Here in NJ we keep three 24 bottle 0.5 liter water cases in addition to what is in the refrigerator. Why, Habit and that way we never run out, and the water taste in town goes from good to poor depending on the season. It is safe to drink just not always pleasant tasting.
No special plans sounds good to me, I tend to freelance my activities most days
Have a Good Day

Good morning.
Another overcast day. Painting class this a.m.
My SIL went to Southern Ca...suburbs, I think away from the fault and the fires. I always liked Northern Ca better, but they're having a lot of fires this year too. Scary.
Forecast for today is cloudy with a high of 78, rain tomorrow.
Happy Thursday, everyone.0 -
Good morning;
On my way to get my hair cut yesterday, my car got rear ended. I am going to need a new rear bumper and whatever other damage they find when my car is inspected. I filled out all the forms with the ins. co and sent them pictures. I am just waiting to hear back from them as to the next step.
We also had rain overnight. It seems to be drying up now.
Roger-I also have 3 cases of bottled water on hand at all times. I used to keep canned good and other staples, but I found they expired before I could use them. I don't like to waste.
Vix-have fun a painting class.
Irene-cool that you saw deer on your walk. I have not seen any this year.

I already posted more humor, Bob the Crayfish in some of them
Hi
I'm back home from walking no cents. The Temperature out the door was 68 degrees. The Humidity is still high and the same as yesterday there was a light drizzle out the door while walking, It was no fun walking.
I did see three deer on the outbound leg eating some of the landscaping in some homeowners front yard, then on the return leg in a different area I saw one more, The Deer are out and about this week.
Our weather forecast for today through Sunday showed a 10% chance of rain, since there was a light mist falling as I left the house and it had been falling long enough that the ground was wet with some puddles I am calling today as 100% rain chance in reality. The Clouds were low enough that I could hear the planes flying overhead and could not see a trace of them.

Overcast is a good word for a dank and dreary day IMO.
Northern Cali is a nicer IMO climate, Back before the homeless problem San Francisco was a nice place too.
I suspect that the fires are not as bad as the news is blowing them up to be, I could be wrong too, if it is happening to You it does not matter how small or large it is.

I'm sorry to hear that happened to You, I was rear ended one year by a large Pickup truck with a brush guard on it that did a number on my car. Silly me obeying a Yield sign just because cars were in the way
Your car will likely be visited by a Insurance Adjuster in addition to the pictures You sent them. Hopefully nothing major was damaged, I am guessing Low Speed Collision since You did not mention getting hurt or that the Air Bags deployed.
There are Survival supplies that can sit on the shelf for 10 or more years before needing to be used, more expensive than grocery store items however. Unopened White Rice can last for years, Brown Rice does not last like that.
If You haven't seen deer does that mean they are not eating Your landscaping or garden ?
Question for You, they were showing multiple fires breaking out from a gas line leak in Mass. on the evening news. Was any of that near You ?
Good Luck with the Car

Good morning;
Roger-I am about 1 1/2 hours away from there. My niece lives in No. Andover and had to evacuate. She is staying with my sister (her mother).
The squirrels do a good job eating my flowers and digging holes in my lawn.
I had my car inspected at the body shop and they have to order parts. When the parts come in it will take 3 days to repair. Since cars now a day are mostly plastic, the inside paneling on the hatchback in all cracked. I never even noticed it when I opened the hatch. They also may find other damage as they take the bumper off. I was stopped in a line of traffic, when I was hit, so the other vehicle wasn't going very fast.

Sorry about your car, Jo. Good that no one was hurt. Hope your niece and family are all safe.
Irene, nice that you visit the hospital.
Roger, those fires are very devastating. And most cities have homeless problems. There were homeless people in Bar Harbor which is a tiny little town, with lots of wealthy people. Things in this country are askew.
Seems the hurricane was downgraded though may still be lots of damage from all the rain.
Cloudy with a high of 76 today here. No special plans.

I usually do buy mine online. I think CostCo does still take checks so I could just take the checkbook to the nearby CostCo and buy them that was for a change, OTOH having activity on the credit cards is always good too. And having gotten them down to where when I make my Payments I am now paying them in full. Total balance as of my last email notification has the grand total under $300

Hi Irene.
Hi Vix.
Have a great day.
I was wondering if You were near that, Good for You and bad for Your Niece
Those Darn Tree Rats are destructive. I suspect they are what has been eating the end off of the Plum Tomatoes and other foods such as the Blackberries. You really do not want them getting into the attic, they chew on everything. We had some Wood lamps in the Shed and they totaled them by gnawing on them
I had a Coworker whose one week old car got damaged and the repairs took forever due to the body shop finding more and more hidden damage and each time the insurance company had to inspect and approve going further, I hope Your experience is better. Does Your or the rear ending cars insurance provide a rental car ?
The modern cars bumpers are damaged by a light tap that may not even show any visible damage .

As far as I know we do not have homeless here in town. I hope it stays that way. They seem to be at the root of much of the crime from what I see across the river in NYC and Long Island.

I am somewhat surprised that You have homeless in Browns Mills, I would have thought the older cities with a higher density was where that problem was for the most part.
Does that mean that You will have two Mowers now ?

Good morning.
The forecast is mostly cloudy with a high of 80. The sun is trying to peek out. We are meeting some friends for lunch. That'll be nice. Give us a chance to catch up.
When I recently bumped my front fender in my garage, I was really happy that I have Geiko insurance. Very friendly and efficient. They had a rental car waiting for me, and I had my car back in 2 days (before the holiday weekend.)
I believe that some of the homeless problems are related to mental health problems. There are agencies and shelters to help out, but they can't reach all of them with what they need. That's one of the reasons affordable medical care is so important. And human kindness.
Happy Sunday, everyone.0 -

Good morning;
Well, today is the last day of my vacation. I enjoyed being home.
Yesterday was a beautiful day. Hubby and I went out to breakfast and then to a flea market.
Hubby bought a few tools, but I didn't find anything. I then skyped with my son and daughter-in-law. They are doing a family tree and had lots of questions. My brain was on overload trying to remember names and dates.
Nothing planned for today, just relaxing and enjoying my last day of vacation.
Have a great day.

I just posted more humor, Now to get tomorrows setup ready to post.
Hi
I'm back home from walking and one thin dime found. The Temperature out the door was 65 degrees. The Humidity is the same as yesterdays. When I out the door I could see a partly cloudy sky and I could see stars in the clear area of the sky. As I was walking the stars disappeared behind clouds that had moved in. According to the weather forecast the Clouds are remnants of Florence and Rain should be moving in later today through tomorrow with occasional Thunderstorms.
Yesterday the high temperature was in the mid 80s...
A Little Humor now:
A software developer, a hardware engineer and a mid-level manager were on their way to a conference center located near the top of a mountain. After the conference, they were driving down the steep mountain road and suddenly the brakes on their car failed. The car careened almost out of control down the road, bouncing off the crash barriers, until it miraculously ground to a halt scraping along the mountainside. The car's occupants, shaken but unhurt, now had a problem: they were stuck halfway down a mountain in a car with no brakes. What were they to do?
The manager said, "Let's have a meeting, propose a Vision, formulate a Mission Statement, define some Goals, and by a process of Continuous Improvement find a solution to the Critical Problems, and we can be on our way."
"No, no," said the hardware engineer. "That will take far too long, and besides, that method has never worked before. I've got my Swiss Army knife with me, and in no time at all I can strip down the car's braking system, isolate the fault, fix it, and we can be on our way."
"Well," said the software developer, "Before we do anything, I think we should push the car back to the top of the mountain and see if it happens again."

That makes sense to me, Division of labor and all that. I'm also guessing Gas powered rather than Electric where You need to be careful with the cord.
One of my Neighbors has a Electric Mower that is rechargeable battery powered. It is not silent like You would think.
No doubt in my mind that many of the homeless are drug users or alcoholics. One problem with them is that many turn to crime to feed the habits.

Good morning.
Very overcast today, no sun at all. Forecast for t-storms, high of 76. I have a massage scheduled for this morning and chiropractor this afternoon.
We've tried to do a family tree, but can't go very far beyond my parents generation. One of my nephews(actually his wife's family) tried to set one up on Ancestor.com, but they've got it all messed up. There are definitely links back on our side that are not right...relating to non-relatives. C'est la vie. I guess it makes them happy.
Another week, wishing you all a good one.

hi all, we got done with our inspections actually it was 3 one was for fire another for heating and the other was for the roof. It ended up costing 600.00 oh well nothing you can do about it now on Wednesday George will go and pick up the paper from city hall showing we past . I will be so happy when this is all over. We did walk this morning and it was a nice cool 66 which was perfect take care everyone0

Once again, Humor has just been posted
Hi
I'm back home from walking and no cents found. The Temperature out the door was 75 degrees 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. When I left the house it was dry outside which is why I decided to go walking. About 30 minutes into the walk I took shelter under a tree while I struggled with the rain Poncho which was giving me problems due to the breeze. I ended up turning for home at that point and the rain became moderately heavy
According to the weather forecast the remnants of Florence AKA Leftovers according to the weather forecast will become worse as the day progresses with 1 to 2 inches of rain.
Yesterday was a day of good and bad news. The good, the scale is treating me OK. The weather was not too bad and I ordered 5 NS gift cards from CostCo where they are on sale at $59.95 for $100 face Value, Thank You Irene for the heads up.
The Bad happened when my Brother went to dry a load of clothes and all the dryer did was give off a loud AC Hum and not spin. The Most likely candidate is that the motor has seized, less likely would be a bad bearing in a Pulley or a belt tensioning pulley, since I was fine when I dried my last load the other day...
A new dryer is likely in the near future since neither of us wants to use a laundromat dryer.
Yesterday my brother said I need to pick up the apple that fell off of the tree and see how it tastes. That is the first one since they were planted He did not realize that the protective anti deer cage was loose against the fence he thought it was secured hence asking me to get it. Something had damaged it in two spots and teeny tiny ants were all over it. I used the knife we keep in the garden to cut off the damage and that got rid of the ants. It was pretty tasty too. Now if next year we get more than one

Hi JoanneGood morning.
My aunt kept a detailed Family tree, Where it went when she entered a nursing home is likely the trash as I suspect many things she had collected, according to my youngest brother her home was broken into more than once and ransacked, Then the state took it to cover the nursing home costs once her savings ran out
I'm not sure I would want to do anything like that online, privacy concerns for me.
I did see the occasional lightning flash while I was walking, they must have been far off as I never heard any thunder. They had a Microburst in a nearby town overnight with lots of trees down a 500+ power outages.
If it makes them happy why not
Have a Good Day
