@Dean: I am trying out the Gatorskin tires you suggested. I will let you know how I like them.
While at the bike shop, my hubby had to drag me away from this trade in Italian bike that retailed for $7,900. They were selling it for $4,700.00. I could lift it with my index finger.....oh baby.

You should have posted a picture so we could all drool over that bike. I went to Gatorskins and 25mm tires instead of the 23s and it's made all the difference in the world. I am getting worse at changing flats though. :frowning::laugh:

Well I got myself something fun to do in the morning. I am going to ride my bike as medical support for a bunch of runners in the Wine Country Half Marathon from Stoller Estates Vinyards. I have from the start to mile 6 to support. Funny, the Promoters came to our cycling group at the last minute (yesterday) for help for their runners. One drawback, I have to be up at 5, load and travel for a 7 am start time. Just a short spin today, don't want to kill my legs.

    08/01 - 11.0 miles cycling
    08/02 - 12.0 miles cycling
    08/03 - 11.0 miles cycling
    08/04 - 02.0 miles walking
    08/05 - 10.0 miles cycling
    08/06 - 2.28 miles walking
    08/07 - 09.0 miles cycling

    Total: 57.28 miles

Congrats to Lady Persia for making her July goal.

@tlacox1 - so glad you are getting better.

@kar328 - I don't think I congratulated you on your big milestone. What a life changing accomplishment. Way to go!

Inching closer to the half million all time miles. As Dave said, should be today or tomorrow. When we hit it, how about if we each post a thought about overcoming obstacles, the power of perseverance or how this group has been a positive influence. Would that be a good way to acknowledge our collective achievement?
