    coopscoopc I have not found a way to become a "morning person." I can get up at that hour, but I cannot work out. I have no strength or stamina at 5 AM! I find for me 3-5 PM is the optimum work out time-I LOVE it! I read on several workout blogs, and Leslie says it herself, there is no "optimal time" to work out. You know when you have hit the best time for you because you will have lots of strength and stamina and feel GREAT when you are done! I have a friend who works out at 10 PM because she says after her workout and a shower, she gets the best sleep ever! LOL That would not work for me! :noway:

    As to your 1 lb weight loss, YOU GO!!!! WOO HOO!!!! You have already lost 21 pounds so the loss is going to slow a bit. You also may begin to experience the down .3, .7, .2 weeks and then WHOOSH away go 2 lbs! The whole "1, 1.5 2 pounds a week" is average and does not happen each week no matter how close we stick to our calorie and workout goals. Just stick with it and the pounds will go. I will end by echoing Pinky on this one: I can not stress enough how important it is to put ourselves and our health first.

    My goal for September will be 120 miles (15 over 10,000 steps)

    Sept 22 - 2.4 miles
    Sept 23 - 1.8 miles - (glued to my desk again)
    Sept 24 - 4.2 miles - lots of yard work
    Sept 25 - 4.6 miles - 10195 steps (4/15) and more yard work...
    Sept 26 - 3.1 miles
    Sept 27 - 3.4 miles
    Sept 28 - 3.5 miles
    Sept 29 - 2.4 miles
    Sept 30 - 3.6 miles

    For a total of 101.5 miles - 4 days over 10,000 steps.

    Onward to October....

    on the topic of when to exercise.... My Naturopath Dr. told me yesterday she gets up at 4:30 a.m. and gets her 1/2 hr. exercise in and then breakfast and off to work by 7 a.m. .... so she thinks I can do that too... Well I don't think so because I would wake up grouchy and he would be grouchy all day!! Perhaps when I retire I will continue to get up at 5 a.m. and do my exercise then... but in the meantime - I like to walk when I get home - it relieves my stresses of the day.

    I managed a one mile walk yesterday. I haven't quite made to daily walks yet. But I'm shooting for Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If I feel strong I do a two mile walk. If not I do one mile. I'm making progress, slowly but surely!

    Stick with what works for you. Waking up grouchy doesn't sound like a good idea :wink:

    I am more determined than ever to shed some pounds. I looked back at the challenges I have been in,,, and I stink! I mean seriously! I have been losing the same 2 pounds since April and there is no excuse for it. I know I had to take a break from working out because of blowing out a disc, but Jeez! I want to see if I can go one week without cheating. Just one week. And I'm starting with today!

    I don't have anything on my plate tonight so when I get home I am headed straight to Leslie! No excuses. Looking bad at the challenge results was such an eye opener. I am going to have to work for it. The pounds just aren't going to fly off by themselves! This gal needs to get steppin!
