Karla, somehow Judy copied and posted some old posts of mine. I did that once when I first started on MFP by accidentally hitting quote while reading a post.

My Broncos won in a nail biter! But is was fun having friendly rivalry with Edd. Going to visit our friend in KY tomorrow. I don't know how she is handling the holidays with her husband so recently gone. Her daughter and grandkids from CO will be there. They can't wait to see "Santa-on-vacation" Off to bed with me. Talk to you all tomorrow sometime

Good Morning.....I have many things on my agenda today, one of which is going to the gym. I haven't been in so long due to my back issues. However, it's tolerable today, so I'm going to do some type of cardio. I didn't do to bad with my eating yesterday.....focusing more today. Have a great day, everyone.

HI Girls- I did 20 minutes with Leslie this morning- they are 10 minute routines, I did a warm up and fast and sweaty one. Its a new DVD for me since I can't find my older DVD's- I may have lent them and never got them back. But its all good.
Patti- tell Edd to rest and get better soon.
Janet- your feast for New Years sounds delicious. I was thinking this morning what Rick and I will have too- still pondering. We're taking the step grands to the movies earlier in the day so then we can come home, have a fire and relax. Friday is Rick's b-day and Emily and Jim are cooking dinner over fire- check out. www.heirloomfire.com to see how our back yard will be transformed- its Jim's company.
Karla- what did you purchase for equipment or did you have it already.
I am starting to think Clean eating is the way to go for us. Judy seems to be focused in that direction and think the U rodel program and also a blog I've been readying might make sense. I'll share when I get more information.
We got about an inch of snow/ice today. Rick's cleared the driveway already and now we're just enjoying the day.
Bert- I hope you do well at the gym today and don't over do it.
Well going to work on the book- I'll be back later.
Eating is going well today :)

Good eve to one and all,
Bert, hope the gym went well and you did not cause yourself any pain

Cindy, I checked out Jim's website and am beyond impressed. Wish there was something like that near us. As a side note, he is a cutie too. Yeah you on getting your activity going.

We visited with our friend in KY. So nice to see she is doing well and loved spending time hanging with her daughter and her 2 children who are 3 and 5. Our friend is headed back to FL on the 1st. Edd is feeling better and coughing much less. I think it was exhaustion and some post nasal drip. Making plan for a long trip to FL, MS and AL the end of March and into April. Will be visiting our KY friend and going to a few BMW rallies. Will also spend some time in Birmingham with my brother, if they are in town. We are chilling out tonight and then I will be doing some cleaning. Not sure who all will be here to see the New Year with us. Son is having a small party but we will probably not attend. Edd has a thing about not being with other's for the ringing in of the New Year. Our neighbors will be here for sure so I am guessing we will be spending the evening with them. Have some ribs and sauerkraut for New Year's day but no other food planned. Need to work on that. I also need to get a workout in tomorrow.

    Be back later. Peace out

Hi, all -- Good to hear Edd is getting better. Patti, thought of you when the Broncos made that FG -- was rooting for them as well.

Had contemplated stayng in today but deferred that until tomorrow and spent several hours running errands, largely because I had almost no fresh produce in the house. Got home and a veneer came off a front tooth. Called the dentist immediately and they were kind enough to work me in and glue it back on -- good thing it came off intact. Then I ran a few more end-of-day errands, as long as I was out. So tomorrow will be a stay-at-home day. My cleaner will be here. There's a bit of chaos of medical supplies, Christmas wrap, clothes, etc. but she can do the important stuff.

I have very been bad eatingwise for several days. But the fridge is now filled with lovely fruits and vegetables and I am primed to begin anew January 1. Have gained a few and want them gone again. it's not too bad, BUT ... 2016 is my year to figure out what my lowest sustinable weight is and to work very hard on maintenance.

Still feeling pretty tired from my nine-day marathon and today's zooming about. Because college football is on, it feels like a Saturday.

Wishing all a good night and pleasant tomorrow.

Good Morning, Ladies. Breakfast is tracked! I need to find foods that keep me full. Any suggestions other than Greek Yogurt?

Today I am taking grand kids to a local facility that has inflatable slides and climbing equipment for them to burn off some energy. They will have fun. Then I'll run errands and hit the grocery store. Have a great day.

Good Morning! Scale is up this morning. Need to get back on track! Starting to clean out a basement room to set up for an exercise room. I got some basic equipment to use and some videos - so no excuses. Also plan to get out for a walk today. Hope everyone has a great day!

It is a beautiful, chilly but sunny day here in paradise. Every day I just feel more and more blessed with my life and all the people in it, and this group is on the top of my list of favorites.

Rjan, love your avatar! Gives me a chuckle every time I see it. What are your favorite videos for home workouts? I am partial to Leslie Sansone and The Firm but have been not doing them since I joined a gym. I have learned that I am a social exerciser, lol. Great way to start the new year off right with your own home gym.

Janet, you never rest, I always wonder how in the world you heal with your constant running around, even when you are tired. You always make me feel like such a slacker. Hope today finds you truly in relax mode. So glad they were able to fix your veneer so quickly for you.

Edd is still a bit under the weather but nothing horrible and I am hoping that if he lays low today he will be back to himself tomorrow. I think I am going to stick to the basics and stop looking for a "diet plan" to follow. I know what to do, just need to do it. Fresh food, stay away from sugars and processed foods as much as possible and track. I have a lot of events coming up this summer and plan to be looking a whole lot better than I do now. I will be getting back to my gym schedule when we get home from the river. It makes me feel healthy, even when I am not losing weight. And like I said to Rjan, I am a social exerciser. I really enjoy the friends I have made at the gym and we always have so much fun it doesn't feel like work, it still feels like exercise though, lol! The other thing I like is having my life a bit more scheduled. Working things around my gym routine keeps me focused. Weird, right, but that is how I roll.

Waving hi to Cindy, Karla, Judy, and Suzi. Hope to hear from you all soon

Patti, I don't have a real choice. If it happens, I have to do it. This puts me in a bit of a funk sometimes and I'm there today -- still tired from trip and from doing my best to give a lot of people love over the last couple of weeks. It has drained me and I need to find a way other than eating to replenish my reserves. Been a long year -- a good one in many ways, but also tiring. Got lots of love on my travels but am now home, in a different state from everyone I really care about. And they all have lives and much higher priorities.

Truly, all I want is to just plop and stay down but that is simply not possible. At least I'll have clean sheets tonight.

Sorry -- not exactly in the best mood today. The Christmas-New Year's corridor is difficult for me to navigate, being treated as a second-class citizen. Even if I'd BEEN married and divorced or widowed it would be different with family. And sometimes it all just HURTS on very deep levels. I'm there today (thanks for letting me vent) and hoping quiet time and watching some comedies will help. Mostly I am Just VERY Tired.

Hey, fridge is full of good things bought yesterday and I pick up seafood tomorrow (shrimp, crab cakes, two small lobster tails). Come January 1 it's back ON. Healing will continue and I am going to try to pace myself on house-related stuff. Want it done but just do not have the strength to do it as rapidly as my brain wants it done!

You are all the best for putting up with me -- this mood is transient and I'm fighting it as hard as I can. Hugs to all.

Hi Girls- Quick stop- Rick's kids are coming for dinner so making pasta and sauce- from our garden tomatoes
I'm going to focus on eliminating white things from my diet that don't come out of the ground or off a tree- I think that will help me- asked for my money back to beyond diet- once I got to see the "real" thing - its way to regimented for me and like Patti I know what to do- get away from processed everything.
    Janet- please rest-
Patti hope Edd is in the pink soon-
I'll be back and grateful I have each and everyone one of you in my life. So blessed.

I'm home and laid up bingeing on Netflx movies. I put on a pot of veggie soup in the crockpot when we got home. Glenn is waiting on me hand and foot. He is one of my many blessings.

Janet you are special, you are worthy and your life is much better than so many others that are struggling. It doesn't make your pain any less real, but if we try to focus on the sick, the poor or the homeless, it can put things into perspective. I just know that 2016 is the year that Mr. Wonderful will walk in that door!

Patti- so glad you are so happy. Warms me.

Ryan welcome to our group. I am doing the same as you. Setting up a personal gym in my home. Glad to have you.

Cindy- I'm down to one party if I even get to go tomorrow with this bad cough.

Bert- so glad we do daily emails.

    Ok, back to my movie,

Cindy, getting away from processed stuff and white food is also my aim in the new year. For various reasons I've been eating fewer salads but know they are important not just nutritionally but because they let me feel I'm having a lot for a reasonable number of calories. A salad with some lean protein MUST be at least one meal on most days if success is to be mine and I have stocked up accordingly. Need to get back to "what kind of vegetable/fruit doe I want?" when I get hungry. I must stop making lazy, thoughtless, self-sabotaging choices ... I don't mind staying home tomorrow night -- already have plans to talk with a few great friends. And I'm safe on the road if I'm not on the road too.

rjan, if you'd like, tell us a bit about yourself -- we'd love to get to know you! This is a wonderfully warm, welcoming group. And please tell me the name of your adorable pup.

Karla, hope your cough backs off enough for you to do something fun tomorrow evening. You are totally right -- I am among the very fortunate in this world and am always very conscious of that. But that does not negate the brief times each year when I feel lonely, isolated and treated with condescension, dismissiveness and/or pity by people who should know better because of their biases. I just need to do my best to make my peace with inequality of treatment while never denying its unfairness -- to accept lesser treatment would be to devalue myself and I will NOT give up my hard-won ground with that in my own heart and mind. I resolve to do my best to be kind to myself in the new year and kinder to others as well -- but not to overdo being extra kind where it feels like my head keeps hitting brick walls. One reason I treasure you all is that you accept me as a peer. I am asking all my friends to keep their eyes peeled for appropriate guys -- geography isn't a barrier.

The bed has clean sheets and I am going to shower, watch TV and do nothing of consequence this evening. My cleaner comes tomorrow (her dad's in the hospital so she needed to be with him today), then I pick up my seafood order and get a manicure -- the last before my excellent manicurist goes home to Vietnam for two months, where he will soon be holding his son for the first time! I do hope he can make great progress bringing his wife and child here soon.

Karla, sorry you aren't feeling well. Hopefully Glenn's pampering will heal, you quickly.

Cindy, enjoy your pasta and birthday celebration with Rick and the kids. I forwarded Chris's website to my chef friend. She was super impressed. They do something similar but on a much smaller scale and only on special occasions. Maybe we should have our OMG get together where he can cook for us.

Janet, I do understand how you feel, was single for a long time before I married Edd. I know this time of year is especially difficult and no words will make it better. You are still someone that I truly admire. I am always humbled by what you have accomplished in your life, not just this year. I just know the right guy is waiting to find you. I also know that you won't settle for anything but the best, because you certainly deserve it. Wish I could join you for your seafood feast, all the things I love.

    The cousins
are coming tomorrow so need to come up with a menu for the rest of the week. Will definitely need a grocery run but will wait for them to get here so I don't have to go by myself or make all the food decisions. I think my biggest stumbling block with my food choices right now is that I am bored and tired of having to come up with a plan for my menus. Need to change my mind set and get back to looking to cook again.

See you tomorrow. Edd and I are watching the Twilight Zone marathon. Can't do Netflix as our internet access is limited.

    Happy New Years Eve!

Thanks for the welcome! A bit about myself - My name is Ruthann. I'm a 48 yr old Canadian Mom of 3 teenagers and married for 22 years. I work full time, but have this week off for vacation. Have been overweight the majority of my life but was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in July. I have lost 35lbs since then and have gotten my blood sugar to normal, but will be a constant challenge for the rest of my life. Trying to limit my carbs, but gosh they really are my favourite! Trying to continue with my diet plan and pick up the exercise this 2016 year! Not sure how long it will take me to my goal but I will continue on!

We have a birthday in the house today, my oldest turns 18 so lots of treats again today. Even if I overindulge, I still try to track! Hoping to get out for some exercise today and try out my new weights and exercise dvd!

Have a terrific day and an even more spectacular 2016!

Good Morning, Ladies. Today is a computer day for me to get Sunday Worship Power Points completed for the month of January as I'll be out of commission for several weeks. I'm trying to get things accomplished as January 6 is around the corner. Have a great day all.

    Good Morning Ladies-
Dinner was a success and I have few leftovers. Today we're taking Meg's step kids to the movies at 1- then to Wendy's and then home for a quiet evening. Tomorrow is Rick's birthday bash with Jim and Emily cooking in the back yard.
Karla- keep resting and feel better for your last party.
    Patti- enjoy the cousin gathering.
Janet- I too have had lonely holidays and I empathize with how you feel. Maybe some of these people are jealous you have it SO together. You are a woman to be admired- to have your accomplishments, retire early, financially stable and you have taken charge of your health and as a final accomplishment- LOOK SUPER AMAZING. Be proud of all you've accomplished in the last 2 years they can all go pound sand.
Ruthann- welcome to our little family. We are all working on a better version of ourselves. Continue to come back daily-
Bert- I'm sure your PPT's will be wonderful.
I rode my e-bike today for 30 minutes. I took yesterday off but got in about 9k steps so not shabby. eating is coming under control too and still focused on white stuff. Went to the grocery store and spent some time label reading. I had no idea the bread I was purchasing was enriched wheat flour- not whole grain flour. Let my education begin.
Need to run for now but I'll be back later today-
Unti then Happy New Year Dear Friends.

Happy New Year's Eve to all my favorite ladies,

Ruthann, glad to have you join us and happy birthday to your son. You have abreast start to a healthier 2016. Stay tuned as we are going to have some group challenges in the new year. These are totally optionally. We also usually set individual mini goals. Feel free to join in. We have found that small, focused goals and challenges have really helped us all to be successful.
A bit about me. 61, retired critical care nurse. Married for 28 years (2nd for me, 3rd for Edd) 2 step children, 1 daughter, 4 grandkids (3boys, 1 girl) ages 19-28; 2 great grandkids 6&7. And one 6 year old Great Dane! Live in Ohio and have a cabin in the Ohio River about 2 hours from home. We spend most of our time there in the summer. Love to travel and go as much as we can, mostly by motorcycle. We generally camp wherever we go, unless there are friends in the area and we seem to have friends all over the country now.

Bert, will start sending up prayers for a successful surgery and speedy, minimal pain, recovery. I know you have the power of prayer already on your side with your devoted family, friends and church.

Janet, do hope you get your rest today. We we need to find a time later in Jan, weather permitting, for us to get together.....once you are over the healing and get your energy back.

It will b a very low key Eve for us. We do not party the New Year in. May go to the neighbor's for a bit and watch a movie or play cards but that is pretty much it. Edd and I are usually the only ones up at midnight. Just waiting for the cousins to arrive and then she and I will head to the store. I want to browse a bit, Edd rushed me through the other day. This time of year I struggle with fruits, actually I am not big on fruits any time of year, but with so few to choose from it is worse. I want. Omfort food like, potatoes, pasta and bread, lol. The fight continues but it is always good to know I have you all here to push me and cheer me when I finally get it right.

See you later or in the new year. Happy and Healthy 2016 ya'll!!!!!!

    Good morning to all.

Karla, hope you are feeling much better today.

Patti, whatever menu you plan will be yummy.

    Cindy, happy birthday to Rick!

Hi to Suzi and Judy too. Paula, if you're reading, hope the MS isn't too bad today.

Ruthann, glad you're here. Enjoy the birthday celebration. I am temperamentally Canadian -- what province are you from? (I could easily live in most of them.) I was a Type 2 diabetic and have been off meds for over a year so keep going and it will pay off. I'm Janet in Louisville -- our resident singleton with two cats, living undreds of miles from everyone I care about most. I retired early because my job was awful. Have lost 150 pounds, had trimming surgeries and am focused on losing a few regained pounds and maintaining for the next 50 years or so.

Bert, good luck with the PowerPoints -- your church is lucky to have such a talented and devoted member in you. If there's any voice of experience stuff I can share to help you have a smoother recovery, just let me know.

Today will be one last splurge day, and despite football watching I aim to get seriously back on plan tomorrow. Need to get my head back in the game and stop the self-sabotage NOW before I regain significant amounts. Going to run some errands and get a mani (yeah, to stay in tomight, but my manicurist is leaving for a long trip and I want to see him once more before he leaves).

Just wanted to say hello. Hope everyone has a fun and safe New Year's Eve. May 2016 be a year of serious progress in weight loss and in life!

Good morning dear friends. I'm still in bed, coughing less, blowing my nose and trying to rest. The cough syrup is like a speed to me with the hydrocondone so I accomplished very little sleep. Same issue today. Nurse Glenn is on my butt to sleep. I am waiting to contact my doctors office at noon and it is another 45 minutes. I think I will call her now. I want to go to that party tonight, even if for a short period.

Patti- those comfort foods are making our midriff area too comfortably plump. Lol. I made some healthy veggie soup yesterday, but then added ritz crackers to it, and not just five. So I know what you mean. Lol.

Ruthann- congrats on your weightloss and lowering your glucose. Three teenagers means lots of pizza, tacos and snacks around I bet! You are doing well though with that. What DVDs do you use?

Bert- you are such an asset to your church. Prayers for your surgery.

Cindy- of course you have the most wonderful way with words, hence your author skills and success. I especially enjoyed your remark to Janet "they can go beat sand". Lol.

Janet- Patti also analyzed your beautiful life nicely. Hold that chin up, your self-worth is not determined by your marriage status. I wish there was some way I could banish that from your mind. I would love to see you finish your healing, be comfortable with your home and then get some definite travel plans made. Visit all your friends a few days to give them a chance to fix you up. See girlfriends for wine and laughs. Life is short, seize the year of 2016 and be away from your home than imprisoned in it with healing and organizing. My two cents. I love you.

I called the nurse to call me back. I am hearing a squeaking noise coming from my sinuses and need to make sure the Levaquin will clear that up.

Here's to good health, a healthy weight and proper eating for us for 2016.

Please submit any ideas for challenges as I have a few myself.

Cindy, you made me laugh. The deal with my family is not envy -- they just think everyone MUST be married or they can't be happy, so my very existence as a happy single person threatens their narrow worldview. That and my having moved several times because I had to for jobs. Their loss! My friends (all of you included) get it though.

Patti, enjoy the cousins (you and Cindy both posted while I was writing and getting interrupted here).

Ruthann, my mom was a nurse too. CVICU has to be awfully intense. When Mom had a mitral valve replacement, the CVICU nurses were just the best at taking care of her and being kind to us -- & letting us know what to expect as she recovered.

Just heard from Karla -- much as she'd like to go out, she knows the right thing is to stay home and rest with nurse Glenn taking care of her -- and eatunig the vegge soup she was smart enough to make right after they got home.

Challenge idea -- spending a week or two focused on FIBER. That automatically promotes fruits, veggies & whole grains. And labels are our friends re fiber -- there are so many foods touting "whole grain" which still have relatively few grams of fiber.

I have seafood for the next few days and lots of fresh produce. Just poured myself a cocktail and got out carrot sriracha hummus and some celery. Will be snacking my way through the evening and tomorrow I get deeply serious again!

Happy New Years Eve everyone. I completed 4 out of 5 Sunday services today. Tomorrow will be the last one. If the order of worship isn't right, they will have to rearrange! I'll turn in the computer at church this Sunday.

Janet: thanks for offering ideas on recovery. This time I'll know what to expect. I'm so hoping this will be the end of surgeries and that I'll be active once again but not overdo. Looking forward to walking without pain.

Good morning and welcome 2016. May I say Roll Tide. Poor Glenn had to watch the game and ring in the New Year by himself as I fell asleep, finally, by 9p. I do vaguely remember him kissing me and saying Happy New Years baby. Lol.. I put the black eyed peas in the crock pot with the ham bone I had frozen after Christmas. I do a Hoppin-John recipe that is pretty tasty.

I think Fiber is a great start for us. What is the daily 'recommended requirement? I'll look and see what my nutritionist advised me.

My BFF and I have been looking at fitness trackers and we are going to link to each and encourage each other. We both have pools so we want one by the summer that tracks swimming. Research shows the Garmin Vivifit is best for it. My friend Tammy has one and swims with it. Otherwise we like the FitBit Charge.

Patti- did you get your Fitbit back? Which one did you have?

Bert- you are a joy to your famiky and church. I'm praying for you to be out of pain and able to be active after this surgery.

Janet- glad to hear confidence and happiness coming through your words. Sorry my team got the best of yours. Michigan played well from what I seen, just couldn't score.

Another rainy day here, so I will stay home and start putting away Christmas and pack up my office for the big switch.

I do feel better just getting some sleep. Coughing much less, but still some. I sure hope this year is better healthwise for both Glenn and I.

How about this Mantra for our new challenge?

F - focus on increasing effective fiber
I - increase our metabolism with healthy food and movement.
T - treat ourselves with kindness and respect our body

We all want to be fit, correct? Which means being at a healthy weight, eat nutritious food and develop a fitness plan commiserate with our physical capabilities.

Bert and Janet, I know both of you will be recovering as far as any fitness the first couple months.

Janet, I know you have orthopaedic restrictions, but you had said you hoped to find some activity you could tolerate. I wish you well.

    Time for an omelet.

Happy New Year my dear friends!!!!
We had a fun time at the neighbor's last night. Haven't really seen them since the first of October. They did not make it until midnight but we did. Actually up until after 1am. Going to put the ribs and kraut in the oven to slow cook after a bit and need to make the mashed potatoes and that is pretty much it for today's cooking.

Karla, I like the F I T acronym for the new year. Maybe we can incorporate it into the name of the new thread/board.

Janet, are you resting today? I hope so.

Bert, your church is certainly blessed with all your abilities and attention. I am sure they must sing your praises.

Cindy, give Rick a big ole birthday hug from me.

Ruthann's, I spent most of my career as a cardiac nurse, it was my true passion. My last job before I retired was as Case Manager at The Heart Hospital. It was my favorite job of all of them, and I had quite a few in my 30+ years in the medical field.

Things to do so better get to it

    Hello again,

21 grams of fiber is what the nutritionist advised for a minimal amount, I don't think there a too high amount, although some people get constipated from too much.

Patti- That is a good idea and acronym is a better word than calling it a Mantra, which is more of a quote. I guess you could read all the meanings together.

How about the name for the new board: OMG We Are
    Getting FIT.

Patti- Did you see my question about the FitBit?

HAPPY NEW YEAR! It's a bright sunny cold day here in Oklahoma - in spite of the Sooners loss to Clemson in the Orange Bowl last night. Oh well, it's 100% basketball season now and, in my opinion, that's all that matters! HA!

Janet to quote Aibileen (Viola Davis) from The Help, "You is kind. You is smart. You is important." And to top all that off, You is now some kind of HOT STUFF with that new beautiful body! We all know that and I'm so very sorry your family doesn't. It's more important that YOU know it deep down in your soul. Maybe you should pick out a positive mantra of your very own and post it on your bathroom mirror or another place where you will see it frequently for positive reinforcement.

Ruthann - welcome to the group! My former teenagers are now 31 and 24 and I'm happy to have those teen years behind us. Having 3 at the same time must be mind-boggling!
I'm a semi-retired 56-year old banker and live just outside Oklahoma City with Dave, my significant other. We have a small RV and enjoy several trips a year. We love hiking and sight-seeing and I take LOTS of pictures wherever we go. We also have a small home at a lake in south central Oklahoma and spend quite a bit of time there - especially during the boating season. I was "yardstick with feet" skinny my entire life until I took up eating M&M's to console myself while going through a bad divorce about 18 years ago. I achieved goal weight in 2007 and maintained the loss for a little over 3 years. It's been a battle ever since, but things are finally going slowly in the right direction. I have about 35 pounds until the top of my healthy weight range for my health.

Karla - don't tell Jodi yet if you happen to talk to her, but things are looking very favorable for Kelly, me and a friend to be in Mobile for Mardi Gras. We're not yet telling her because she would be so terribly disappointed if we're unable to come. Should have plans firmed up soon and will let her know then.

Dave and I are discussing a couple of other trips for the upcoming year, too. We're thinking Phoenix, Grand Canyon and maybe some other SW national parks in late Feb, early March; then Rocky Mountain National Park on our way to Yellowstone in August and coming back home through the Black Hills. We haven't made reservations, but will probably do that for RMNP and YNP this weekend. Although it's not yet under discussion, a New England fall foliage trip is also pretty likely.

Here's some "World According to Suzi" for a diet plan. I'm sticking with Weight Watchers. As I've shared here before, I need the fellowship of the meetings as well as the accountability of the scale, although there is much less emphasis on the scale than there used to be. The new program incorporates more nutrition, fitness and psychological well-being. That being said, I will primarily use the simply filling plan, which focuses on what used to be called "Power Foods". When I think of the term "clean eating", these food types are what I think of - leans meats, fruits and veggies, low or no-fat dairy, whole grains and little to no added sugar. That's pretty much the definition of the Simply Filling plan. Dave eats and cooks very heart-healthy, which is mostly those Simply Filling food types anyway, so it's easy for me to follow and easy to imagine doing for the rest of my life. I will also use some of the principles from the Beck Diet Solution that worked well for me when I used them - pre-tracking when possible and a daily self-assessment to note my successes and plans to address areas that need improvement.

Exercise will hopefully come easy again. Dave has finally been released from doctor and physical therapy after 4 months of shoulder rehab; I've finally got the kidney stones, sprained ankle and broken foot behind me; so we'll be back at the Y beginning Monday morning. That means yoga and spin class 3 days a week. I want to include weight training a couple days a week, some water aerobics and a daily minimum of 10,000 steps.

KARLA: I LOVE the name of the board. Have you started it yet? I also LOVE the new challenge. FIT : It sounds great.....looking forward to information from everyone as to what's working for them on each component of the acronym.

Mike and I went out to breakfast for New Year's. We've been doing this for several years. He takes me shopping (his one time a year for the mall!) This year's purchase was a wireless Blu Ray player. I hooked it up to the tv upstairs, but for some reason Netflix is cutting out. I'm wondering if it's too far from the router although my laptop and cell phone works just fine upstairs. I'm planning to contact support for the device to see what they think.

There's so much to do prior to surgery. I'm planning to clean house this weekend so at least it will still be organized when I return home. Meetings at church on Monday and seminar for students on Tuesday. Whew!

    Happy New Year,
    Bert
