Good Morning, Ladies. We had a good time at the game and out to eat. I'm up early this morning (5:00 am) as my tossing and turning woke up Molly and then she decided it was time to go out! I tried to go back to sleep, but to no avail. Breakfast is tracked.

    Have a great day, everyone!

Hello all. Just a quick stop in. Carrie wants to get out of the house so we are going out to lunch then to look for some new knitting stuff for her - at least a good sedentary occupation! Eating yesterday was not stellar but not off the rails, so just need to get back on my plan today. Of course, going out for lunch isn't the best way to do that!

Janet, glad pain is moderating. Stay safe!

    Suzi, congrats on the loss.

Waving to all others - will stop by later.

Mornin' y'all! I'm in today with a Wicked head cold. Ahhhhh, if only I could breathe through my nose again... At least I had a decent night's sleep!

Janet - glad your pain is moderating and you have your TV back. As far as "he who shall not be named" (in OKC, anyway), congratulations. It's still a very sore subject here. Our current motto is " In Russ we trust!" I hadn't even thought about the no shower aspect of your surgery! It'll all be worth it in the long run when you're newly mobile, not to mention, smart, skinny and an all around lovely person!

Diane - enjoy your outing with Carrie. It must be incredibly tough to be a shut in, for all intents and purposes, as she and Janet have been and will be for a while yet as they heal.

We've delayed our lake trip until tomorrow when I'm hoping to feel better and have more energy. Right now, I kinda feel like I've been run over by a truck.

Bert - sorry about the early wake up. Ellis frequently decides he needs to be up and out if one of us wakes up early, too. Dinky's pretty good about sleeping in. I think Jessi trained him pretty well when he was living with her.

    Later,
    Suzi

Having a veg-out day - pain ramped up some, as did the cold. So taking it easy is my plan. Am enjoying clean, fun pjs and quiet. Cat sitter's been here so am in quiet time, just what I need! Going to have yogurt mixed with some sugar-free pudding mixed in, along with some water - a nice but on-plan treat. Thinking I will log some bedrrom time because a nap might happen. Hooray for naps!

Janet, how long must you be shower-less? We rigged the tub with an extra long hose on a hand shower, and a tub seat that spans across the rim, so 2 legs out and 2 legs in. She can sit on the seat, swing her good leg in, and take a shower sitting down with the hand shower, with her splinted leg outside the shower. If you are in a hard cast, I recommend something I got back when I broke my leg - a waterproof leg cover that has a vacuum pump - you pump a slight vacuum on the rubber cover and it makes a VERY tight seal. People say you can swim in them, though I never tried it, but it worked great for showers. I just looked on Amazon - look for Dry Pro Half Leg waterproof cast cover.

Lunch was at Noodles - tracked and will try to stay low on calories for dinner to make my day balance.

Hello everyone. I am still here. IV had quite a blow, but I am adjusting. With my loving husband, family and friends I am coming around. This weekend I have had three grandkids, so they have kept me busy and filled with love. I did not mean to keep you all worried.

Forgot to post my reply before heading to work this morning, luckily it was short. My BFF turns 70 in March and plans for a surprise Disney themed party are underway. The original date was changed because I have a trip to Florida planned. They changed it for me and I am so grateful and humbled. We are doing a Sniw White theme, so excited. I stayed in my craft room all night and it kept me from eating. Usually an off plan lunch like I had yesterday would derail my whole day but I didn't let it.

Diane, glad Carrie has a craft she can do and you to get her out of the house. What did you eat at Noodles to stay on plan? Pasta is my absolute favorite food.

Janet, hope your cold is short lived and that you get that nap.

Suzi, sorry you are not well and hope you are feeling well enough to travel tomorrow.

Bert, those early mornings would do me in.

Cindy, I know you are going to miss your sweet Megan, come here for comfort and know she will be fine.

Karla, continued hugs for whatever you are dealing with. Glad you stopped by so we know you are hanging in there, because what else can we do when faced with life's unexpected blows. We are here for you.

Work was only moderately busy, but fun as always, now I have 2 days off to shop, do laundry, spend time with Mom and maybe make some more cards. Got a total of 18 done yesterday, so stash is starting to get restored.

Karla, so good to see you. We all have times when pulling back is needed but we've been with you in spirit all along.

Diane, my doc strongly urged me not to try a cast cover while living alone - he's seen fails and I dare not rush it. I can do a good sink bath. Once I get to shower I will use all the hot water! I have a walk-in shower with a good teak bench. Tell Carrie I envy her ability to get out of the house! For me, only for doc or other necessaries until I can put some weight on it. The replaced knee isn't supposed to be hopped on too much. So the cats take care of me, along with their sitter and friends.

Patti, once I get mobile we'll have to get together. Sweet if your friends to make sure you can attend the party.

This dumb cold is going nuts - hoping that means it's trying to exit. Very tired so good night!

Good morning, all. Fully in the grip of this dram cold so going to stay really down today.

Stomach is a bit sour - haven't been eating much so may make some quinoa or something substantial later if up to it.

Diane, one note about cast cover - my doc opposed it because he knows I don't have a backup person on the house and it'd be a mess if I had to go somewhere quickly. And I have two incisions above the cast, so showers remain on my wish list!

May the new week be kind to us all.

Good Morning, Ladies. Breakfast is tracked.....GNC shake and cottage cheese. I'm trying to get more protein in, especially in the morning. Mike says the roads are slick this morning. I'm so glad that I don't have to go out until 10.

    Have a great day, everyone!

    Good Morning Girls-
    I guess I missed yesterday.
Suzi- sorry about the cold and I'm sure Janet is feeling just as stuff. It was nice of you ladies to share with each other.
Patti- I LOVE Disney and Snow White is one of my fav's-
Karla- good to see you check in. Thinking of you.
Diane- Sounds like the short trip was good for Carrie- we dont' have Noodles here but I adore anything with pasta.
Bert- sometimes our pups get up early but it is always if they really have to go out. Griffin got into a bad habit of using my kitchen floor for a couple of weeks but I guess Jasper clued him in that wasn't cool.
We had dinner with Meg et all on Saturday night. Em and Rick went. It was sad but she called me 4 times yesterday on her drive and she arrived safely around 8- so thankful. But she's already planning to come back and finishing cleaning their apartment in two weeks. She's asked to stay with me. Randy decided they were just leaving it- but Meg knows the right and wrong things to do. Patti- once she's a little more settled I'll give her your contact information. She is excited to meet you and Janet... of course when she's mobile.
WW is going well and I splurged and bought a new fitbit flex 2 with the extra pendant so if i want to dress up I can still wear it. Indulgent but I'm worth it.
I did WAY to much fiber the first four days but the body took care of that. LOL
I didn't do Leslie yesterday- stuff going on, Rick wasn't feeling well and camped in front of the TV- so I did 10 fit bit breaks from WW- They're one minute chair movements and in place stuff. They were tougher than I thought so a good thing to keep in mind moving forward.
Well need to run but Happy Monday to all

    Hello all,

Chore day here. Made chicken wings in the pressure cooker yesterday and they are in the fridge marinating in the sauce so all I have to do is heat them up. Found that they are best the second day, so we had tortilla pizzas last night. I am planning to make my GF a Snow White apron for the party. It is a costume party and a surprise, so I don't want her to not have a costume.

Janet, no fair having a cold on top of your surgery. Lay low and take care, and eat something!

Suzi, are you better and off to the lake!

Cindy, you have raised a great and responsible adult, take pride. So hard to have them fly the nest. Maybe we can plan our OMG reunion so it can include a visit with Meg for you. Proud of you for finding ways to get some movement in. When I exercised at home I used the kitchen. Got out my portable DVD player and made it work. Maybe you need to find another spot for your exercise.

Karla, hope every day finds your heart stronger.

    Diane, happy organizing

Definitely a "down for the count" day. Trying to get the energy to leave my bedroom and at least have a protein shake. No energy for more but wanted to say hi.

GlD Meg made it to OH, Cindy!

    Hello Ladies-
Guess we're a quiet bunch to start the week.
I had a really good WW day yesterday and wearing the new fitbit I logged 5k in steps the most I've done in a long time so i'll take it- slowly finding my way back to me. Progress.
I'm still trying to focus on 3 meals per day and cut down on snacking but I did have a greek yogurt in the mid afternoon and 5 tricuit thins- I was hungry. I've changed up lunch today so we'll see how that goes- more protein less carbs.
I also added an egg to the breakfast instead of peanut butter.
    How is everyone doing?
    Janet- Pain?
    Patti- work?
    Diane- organizing?
    Bert- Enjoying life-
    Suzi- how are you feeling?
    Karla- missing you
    MaryLynn- missing you too
Need to run but looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Good Morning, Ladies. I'm heading to the gym this morning, FINALLY! I'm looking forward to going and doing something different. Breakfast is tracked. I didn't have a shake this morning, but will have one this afternoon as a snack. I had protein oatmeal and peaches.

Cindy: I'm also trying to change up my eating: more proteins and less carbs.

I went to another campus training session for the online program to document students' work. I'm glad I went, so I can at least help students know how to download their assignments. It's so disorganized over there for my taste. I like having my "ducks in a row" and planning. Oh well, I just need to grin and bear it until they know what thery are doing.

    Have a great day, everyone!

A quick good morning as I head out the door to Mom's. All she needed from the store this week was toothpaste, lol. My sis was there Saturday and took her some milk. She requires so little and is always apologizing for being so needy. Not being able to drive, even though she rarely did, has really hit her hard and makes her think she is a burden. I can't convince her that I am so grateful to have her near me that I would do 10 times more just for that privilege. I hope I am as graceful about aging as she is.

Wishing you all better health, less pain, more confidence to be you and the wisdom to enjoy the fruits of your hard work.

Good morning, all. Pain exists but is fairly manageable. Trying to get myself into a comfortable position can be challenging, but it is what it is. Was really sick yesterday with my stupid cold - spent only two hours outside my bedroom. Mental fog's starting to clear today but am taking it very easy (not that I can do much anyway!) I have two episodes of "This Is Us" to savor later.

Appetite still hasn't come back so am rolling with it. Keeping carbs low here too but thinking of slurping up a batch of quinoa with some olive oil later.

    Have a great day, all.

Good afternoon all. I've had a very productive day here. Workouts have solidified into water aerobics Monday and Friday, a class called Body Weight plus Abs on Tuesday and Thursday, and either a rest day or something pure cardio like Zumba on Wednesday. I think it was Suzi who urged me to try the water aerobics, and it is a decent workout if you really WORK at it. The body weight class is a terrific strength training work-out. All those are either 8:30 or 9 am classes, so goes with my morning exercise desire. I can feel my arms and thighs, which means they are working! My abs are non existent, so really trying to make some progress there.

I spent this afternoon organizing again. I did both the hall linen closet and the bathroom linen/supply closet, plus the cabinets in the laundry room. I have a big bag of old sheets to go to our church quilters (they use them in place of batting in their lap quilts they donate). I also have four wool blankets and a few odds and ends for the church rummage sale. It isn't until the end of March so I have to store the stuff for a while, but it is at least separated. I threw away bunches of old shampoos and conditioners nobody uses any more, along with old sunscreen and the like.

Carrie had her post op with the surgeon this morning. She is now in a hard cast, and got all 36 stitches out of four different locations on her heel and leg. She asked the surgeon how many pieces of hardware she has - said he seemed affronted at the question. But the answer is 13. She also asked for and got a prescription for non-narcotic pain medicine, so that is good too. No PT call today, which was surprising. She is getting in-home PT twice a week, and was supposed to get it today. If they don't call tomorrow we will call them.

Eating today not terrific - John and Carrie stopped at Chick Fil A and brought home lunch. So dinner will be light - maybe soup and salad.

Janet, I wish I was near so I could allow you to get out of the house when you feel ready. I know those little outings really perk up Carrie’s spirits. Hope the cold is well and truly banished today.

Patti, I know how you love having your mom close by. I didn’t realize she had to totally quit driving. I thought she was doing close by daytime errands still. I know how limiting that must feel. My mom still drives a limited amount – only places within about 20 minutes, and only during daylight hours and places she knows how to get to. She hasn’t driven to my house (an hour, much of it on the DC Beltway) in about 3 years. And I get exactly what you mean about aging gracefully. I see the difference between my mom, who is so thankful for anything anyone does and so kind to caregivers (even when she was in that terrible nursing place two summers ago), and my SIL’s mother who is just nasty and demanding.

Bert, how was your gym trip? What different things are you trying? It has been an experiment for me for sure.

Cindy, you know what works for you. However, I have always found that a planned snack midafternoon helps keep the hunger at bay so I don’t make poor choices. I am trying to have a yogurt at that time most days, if I haven’t had it for breakfast. Enjoy your new FitBit! I have a very old one, but it works for what I want it for. Can you tell us some of the fit breaks from WW? Those sound like good TV commercial things to do.

Karla, hugs for your rough patch. Hope you are feeling better.

Suzi, hope you and Dave and Ellis are enjoying the lake!

Waving to Myra and MaryLynn. Stop by when you have time!

Good evening. Wonderful day with mom. Chatter, laughter, minimal chores and catching up on our shows. TRX was great, our instructor is back. She has had lots of time to come up with new moves to do on one leg. That's what happens when your instructor is not allowed to use one of her legs, lol.

Diane, mom went almost completely blind in September from macular degeneration. She received shots in her eye to treat it but is still not driving. She did not get any vision back in the right eye but is nearly back to her baseline on the left. About 12 years ago she was diagnosed with tumors in her right eye that she was told was cancerous with no treatment. Turns out it was a very different form of macular degeneration and now the damage is permanent. She is anxious to drive again, very short trips, less than five miles, but has not been cleared. We have a visit with the retinal specialist tomorrow so we shall see, no pun intended.

Tomorrow is lunch with my GFs and then working 5-10pm.
