@k80flec: Awesome job at your race! Never say never...at age 59, I went out to see if I could run a mile without collapsing and I am running Half Marathons at 62. My first race was a sprint triathlon. I still hope to run a full once I retire and can invest the time in training.
@anaconda469: We have snobby cyclists and wonderful ones too. I don't have all the fancy stuff and I refuse to have clip ins because of risk to my knee and falling but I can still can beat lots of 20 somethings in some of my duo and triathlon events. You just need to find a nice group of people. Hang in there.
April 18: 16 miles of cycling 8 and walking 8 miles.

@k80flec and @clepant - I was surprised reading both your ages, but not at all the work you put into being fit and how well you do it. I'm 52 and it's great to see others out there.
@anaconda469 Those people are idiots. My cycling experience consists of the one class a week I take, but I can see how much of a community it is with those who are also out on the road. I hope you find others who aren't such a$$3s, but from what I've read in your posts all this time, you do an incredible job on your own.
4.4 mile walk.

Okay, I just went back and read my post - I don't know where "kitten3s" came from, I used the word in the title of this group lol. That's a weird autocorrect if I ever saw one.

So the latest thing around here is people watching you bring or pick up your bikes from the cycle shops and they snatch them as you are going in or as you are leaving. They are getting $3,000 bikes this way. Now I not only have to hang on to my purse but my bike too. Next they will be knocking people off of them and snatching them.
What a shame!!

CONGRATS on making your GOAL, KITTEN, I mean KAREN!! And you were saying something about your recent wildlife spottings and turtle-assisting and it reminded me that I saw my first turtles of the season last Thursday. I counted 29 out sunning themselves on the various logs and rocks in the pond behind my work. Then on Friday there were 42! My favorite number. They were everywhere. One tiny log had 8 or 9 of them piled practically on top of each other. It was funny.
