@anaconda469 and just_ceci: Did either of you get sent t wound care specialist. My GP did not help my dad when he cut his arm. We took him to a wound care specialist who worked on treating his arm for weeks. My dad has a blister burn from the heating bag and if it does not start improving, I am taking him back there. They were fabulous.

Congratulations to belle_60 on making goal!!
BTW, I didn't come up with the idea of extra miles for Dave, Clepant did - just giving credit where credit is due.0 -
I heard from Dave again. He got through the funeral and it was uplifting to see family and old friends and share memories. He expects to pop back in here again soon.
Here's how the extra mile for Dave works. You just post that you're going to move an extra mile in honor of Dave and his father. We tell Dave what we're doing and that we are all here to support him. You report back when you've done your mile. That's it.
@ Dave - you know how much this community appreciates you. The following friends have committed to moving an extra mile in honor of you and your dad:

Jan. 26: Adding 15 miles today. Walked 5 miles and cycled 10 miles. Also adding one extra mile for Dave and one extra mile for his dad.
TTD: 289.05 miles
@Janet: I only suggested giving Dave extra miles if he needed it. You truly came up with each of us moving an extra mile in honor of Dave's dad which is a wonderful idea.
Miss you Dave and l am glad that you got to share wonderful memories with family and friends.

For 18 months of burn care (not a burn), wound care (originally never an open wound), Tegaderm patches, specialty burn patches, gels, Silvasorb, Bacitracin, Neosporin and the list goes on. It is on the top of my shoulder so my clothes constantly irritate the wound so only 1 very thin layer of skin has come back. My Primary, the wound care clinic, all told me that bandaging would prevent proper healing. Well Tuesday they finally gave up. Then the Dermatologist told me we can try one more thing, Mederma cream and constant bandaging for 90 days, if that fails then its skin graft time. So I have gone round and round with this.0 -

Hey Janet, put me down for an extra mile for Dave and his dad. I guess that would mean I have done 181 out of 201.0

1/26 - 3.74 miles walking
Total for month - 70.31 of 155 miles
I ended up walking 45 minutes on 2 breaks and at lunch, so "Dave's mile" ended up being 2 miles ☺It was very breezy, but felt wonderful to be moving instead of sitting at my desk
My thoughts and prayers are still with you Dave0 -
Took my first long walk to the park in months. Startled a couple of deer as I came around the corner to the park entrance. Ended up adding more than 2 miles for Dave and his dad.
Added 5 miles yesterday for a January total of 67.25 miles
Dave you might not be here yet, but I had some time on that walk to remember some great things about my own dad and how lucky I was to have him as long as I did. Hard to believe it's been almost 2 years.0 -

I haven't been to one. I think mine is getting better, as long as I don't bump into things. Clumsy!0 -
