OK cut off my post I'm Susie I hope the hiking trip went well and the weather stayed nice is it was supposed to Gail how are you doing Vail hope all is well Kobe how are you doing.

I'm struggling with the stairs especially with my arm being messed up I did get the results of my MRI last night and found out that I do have a tear in the muscle as well as a cyst on the bone that's been inflamed for a long time apparently so it was just good to know I'm not a hypochondriac and there is the reason for the ouchies. She's going to refer me to a shoulder guy to see if he can do something like a Cortizone shot maybe but anyway won't know more till there but no biggie all-around good to know it's just that.

Glad to see you Gail and Snooozie!
~Glad you are doing fine Gail but sorry about your computer frustrations. Do you go the the website or use an app? When I was using the app my posts were deleted all the time until I deleted the app and then downloaded it again.
~ Snooozie- did I miss something? Or is it my menopausal lack of memory at work? What the heck about your arm being messed up and a muscle tear and cyst? OUCH!!!!! So sorry! Glad the MRI did get to the bottom of it and I'm crossing my fingers and toes that a shot of cortizone or something will give you relief. And yes, saw my doc today and am happy to say he was not worried at all about what he referred to as a "wrinkle " or "scrunching" at the bottom of one of my lungs, and said that it is not uncommon to see that on a chest xray. Could be I just didn't take a deep enough breath, or from recurrent aspiration, like from acid reflux, or from the recent illness, but, whatever it was from, there is no cause for concern at all. This was very good news. I am also happy to report that the steroids are working well and I am 90% recovered-yay! I was beginning to think I was not going to EVER feel better!

Started tutoring back up and my student just arrived- later!

Hello ladies, hang in there Suzy, you are not failing, we all are working towards our goal everyday and we will not give up. We will have setbacks but that is okay because the next day we will try again.
Susan I am glad you can see the light at the end of the tunnel and thank God no pneumonia.

    Haha @ Susan's post.
Good morning everyone, so far so good. It has been so difficult to curb the appetite.
I am on the road to North Carolina to my Uncle's 90th birthday celebration, and I am trying to keep up with the diary. I don't want to start over again. Everyone have a great weekend.

We've all been very quiet! How's everyone doing? Don't beat yourself up for not being perfect. It's still January and today's a new day. It's a great day to recommit to your goals.

I "fell off the wagon" for a few days last week and got back on it this week. So far, so good. I made it to the gym once but have been walking about 4 miles every day this week. I don't know why I can't seem to make myself get back into my gym and class routine but I'm working on it. I think part of me is expecting the classes to be packed so I'm rationalizing that I don't want to deal with that. Totally unproductive thought and I've got to get past it. Every night I set my alarm to get up and go to a class and every morning I turn it off and go back to sleep. Hahaha! Not productive!! I'm working on it. I'll get there!

I hope you're all doing well. Stay positive! Stay strong! This is a great year to reach our goals! If not now then when?

Good morning Hatters! It has been very quiet indeed on the board- hope everyone is doing well and hope to hear from you soon.

Suzy- I didn't stick to my goals a few days here and there over the last week or so , either, but I still feel committed and energized to continue on my healthy lifestyle and release weight journey. I frequently take two steps forward and one back, as many people do, sometimes even one forward two back lol, but the important thing is that in the overall picture we are still moving forward. Great job on your walking- 4 miles every day is fantastic! I think I manage about a mile every other day, so I am impressed!

My weigh in is tomorrow and I am hoping for some positive results. But regardless of whatever the scale will show, I am pleased that I have been having a pretty good week re establishing some former practices/ habits that I know are positive for my health and weight loss.

Hope everyone is having a thrilling Thursday !

    ((Hugs)) ~ Susan

So very true! My success arrow would probably look like one of those maze puzzles. Two steps forward one back or three back then one forward then two forward then one back and on and on and on! So the journey continues!

    Hello everyone
What an interesting pic Suzy. When the two is compared and all bunch up, I want the food on the right.

Susan, I am glad you are feeling better, I do understand about that one step forward and two steps backward. I was doing really, really good until my trip to NC. Did well until the birthday party for my uncle was at Golden Corral, and it went downhill after that. I am back to posting in my diary, so I am trying to get back on track. However, it is Mardi Gras time, and that means king cake ah I will wait til the end and grab one. It only comes out during this time of the year.

Suzy- I agree with Milove that when the food is all bunched up like that I prefer the healthy food too! It's taken me a few years to get to that place, and I smile now every time I check out at the grocery store and see all the healthy foods in my section of the checkout conveyor belt.

Milove- oh my gosh- Mardi Gras time - that's one giant temptation in itself! I think that is a great plan to wait until the end before you grab a king cake. I hope you enjoyed your trip to NC and your Uncle's birthday. I haven't really mastered staying on track during vacations, usually drinks on the beach and such do me in ! But heck, I think everyone deserves a break now and then, especially on vacations. And it sounds like you are doing a great job getting back on track with posting in your diary and making a plan for how to handle king cake. :)

Now that I am mostly recovered, and the temps are still cool here ( actually I should say COLD for here at least) I have started walking the dogs again. They are very thrilled, but I'm huffing and puffing cause I have gotten so out of shape! I also took the bull by the horns and did some meal planning and went to the butcher and the grocery store and got back to making my own lunches at home and cooking dinners instead of eating out or snacking. Now I just need to keep it up and continue to do the same each week.

Happy Weekend to All ~ Susan

Yep, those healthy foods pictured on the right appeal more to me as well. So why do I eat all those unhealthy things on the left?! Ugh!!

Milove I can completely relate to your trip downhill. I don't see anything wrong with indulging in one meal but then I'm like a snowball rolling down that hill. It just gets worse and worse. I usually have a hard time stopping and coming to my senses. Good for you for getting back on track! I'm facing a similar thing today but on a much smaller scale. My son is in town for the day working a concert for Lee Ann Womack and we're meeting him for lunch and to hang out for a bit. I'm so excited to see him but I've got to keep myself in check. After that we're going to the RV show. So that means I'm eating lunch and dinner out today. Then tomorrow we're celebrating our son-in-law's birthday by (that's right!) taking him out to dinner! I don't do well eating out.

I'm glad you're feeling better Susan! Meal planning and cooking at home are so key to success for me, too. Good for you!!

Have a great weekend Hatters! Wish me luck on my eating out!

    * work in progress
    *
    good morning all !!

I'm starting my post and am going to keep saving and editing it so I don't lose it !!

sorry I've been MIA; I have been popping in and reading the posts but I lost afew days with the sore paw and then things got a bit hectic... and i'm a little ... I dunno what the word is.. not frustrated, not miffed just... well when I figure out the word i'll post it.. lol but mixed up will do for now..

I am exactly the same weight today as when I started out at the beginning of January to lose weight.. not an ounce gone in almost a month. And i'm doing the same as most of you have posted ( I just went back and read all the posts since I was last here so i'll answer some to catch up at the end...) but like some of you the whole cycle of everything has pulled me in too.. good days, not so good days (food and moving wise) one step forward, two back... all of your posts pretty much sum up how its been for me as well.

and I'm not down or depressed about it...not in a funk or anything.. i'm honestly just confused and mixed up (picture me scratching my head LOL). i'm literally just mixed up because I can't seem to figure out WHAT to do - I know that sounds somewhat ridiculous; god knows every one of us could write a book on everything from nutrition to macro counts at this point!!! But I just seem to be floundering; not able to pick or decide on any kind of "plan" to actually follow.. it's like i'm just kinda going along hoping things will happen, but not actually DOING anything about it... and im not sleeping well and im finding the shifts a lot harder these days.. and i havent even been doing my walkies even tho our winter has been pretty mild so far.... as well my brain is busy thinking about maybe retiring ... and if I should sell my place and find another before I retire.. lol just like every other woman on here with our brains spinning with everything 24/7... I think I just need to turn off my head for a while.. lol

I am doing ok with incorporating the two new habits .. but just ok... not mastering it... and they are kinda made moot with the floundering on the rest of it ... I think maybe I just need to follow Suzy's sign up there and get my sh&t together and figure out a SOLID plan and STICK to it. just make a damn decision to do SOMETHING rather than aimlessly kinda meandering thru the days trying here and there... I wish I knew why I was having such a hard time making an actual plan.. maybe its avoidance or menopause brain or just.. me being lazy. I'm not sure. But I do know I gotta figure it out and soon ! I think tonite at work I may go back thru some old diarys and posts and maybe that will help slap me into figuring out what I want NOW for myself and how to get it!! :)

ok enough babbling about me... a few little notes about the lovely posts I just caught up on!
    (in random order)

Susan - glad to hear you are recovering - I did laugh at your comment about the doctor saying you might have a little "wrinkle" left in the lung but he wasn't worried. I might have slapped him for using the word WRINKLE tho.... who tells a woman she has wrinkles anywhere and thinks they will live through it?? Great job on the home cooking and glad the temps have cooled enuf to walk the doggies!!

Suzy - hope you had a lovely time with your son and at the RV show... I know exactly what you mean about eating out... I had a few events recently and every time I eat out I realize HOW MUCH I eat as opposed to when I eat in and have my "PORTION SIZE?" sign to look at on my cupboard.. my stomach must be as confused as I am at this point! one minute its happy getting small amounts t digest and the next its getting bombarded with 3 courses and doesn't know what to do with it all!

Milove - I don't know what a king cake is.. but its sounds decadent!!! Awesome plan to wait til the end but I agree with Susan - its a once a year celebration and we should be able to indulge a little on those occasions... I hope you had a blast !

Gail - sorry to hear about the home puter stuff; I get it believe me!!! I have saved and edited this post every few lines just to avoid that frustration!! Glad to hear you're doing ok tho!

Kobie - how's the ccircuit training going - still having ouchies all over or getting stronger and no more ows??

Vail - I saw a post you just did about trying the one meal a day at the moment; keep us updated how its going after this weekend with your guests!

I have a couple more evening shifts to get through til Wed then i'm on vacation for about 10 days.. it will be a staycation and plan to get some stuff done around here that I've been putting off for a while - but maybe since Feb starts on my last shift i'll have figured out what I want to do and can start off on the right track towards it on the 1st..

Rock on people... we're all still here and still working on US so despite the setbacks and confusion and whatever else.. yay us!!

Oh Snoozie! I hate that you're feeling "out of sorts" right now. That feeling comes and goes with me. I'm not sure what snaps me out of it ...I think it's been different things. I set myself a goal of striving to lose just one pound a week and I put a note of what I want to weigh on the calendar on my phone for the end of each month. Well, January 31st is coming really soon and I was not near my goal for the month. That seemed to kick me in the pants. It sounds like you're putting a lot of stress on yourself. Stress is not your friend!!! To quote Disney, sometimes you just have to "let it go."

I did have a nice visit (even if it was just a few hours) with my son. On a good note: I did a great job eating out today!!! Yay me! No alcohol. Great portion control. I even turned down a free dessert! Whoo hoo! Go me! Hahaha! Tomorrow we're planning a seven mile hike and our dinner out was canceled. So it's shaping up to be a successful weekend! Yay!

Using Siri on my phone from work so excuse any typos but awesome job Susie well done you I'm so impressed!! And actually I'm not stressed at all I think that's part of the problem lololol. It's more just a confusion as to why I can't seem to decide what to do more so than stressing over it ha ha

    Hello, Ladies,

Snoozie on bright side you did not gain!! Hooray!!!!!

Suzy I am so glad you enjoyed your son visit and you did a great job with control!!!

Susan I agree with Snoozie, wrinkles is a ladies worse enemy well you know I don't care anymore, just want to be healthy and fit into my clothes and look decent in them without a pregnant look.

Snoozie, King cake is rich with different fillings and Ah never heard of it either until I moved here. But the problem with New Orleans, once Mardi gras is over then its the next once a year event. Like crawfish time. All of the crawfish boils. lol

Well I lost a pound and I do not want to find where it went it can stay lost. lol
I usually eat a 6 inch sub for breakfast if that is my meal I was full with half of a six inch. I am feeling elated. Also I let go of the Sambuca and I did not sleep good last night tossed and turned and awaken at 4 am. Trying to cut down on the calories.

    Ladies have a great day!!

way to go on the loss Milove !! well done!!

lol @ the festivals... I always wanted to try a crawfish boil!!

not sure i'd want to trade good sleep for the cals in a shot of Sambuca tho.. since sleep seems to be evading me lately that is lo!

We went on a seven mile hike yesterday (our first long hike in quite awhile). I was so tired at bedtime but couldn't fall asleep so I took two Advil PM. I slept for almost ten hours!!!! I've heard some people have good luck with camomile tea (not me) or some herbal supplements. Sleep is right up there on my priority list. I've heard that it can have a direct connection with weight loss.
