Anytime one is sick, blood sugars can be elevated. I know mine would be higher than my "normal" when I was sick and that also happens when I don't sleep well (toss & turn all night or not get enough restful sleep), which happens a lot when I'm sick.1 -

Actually no. I try not to use too many test strips. Right now I only get 100 ea refill which doesn’t last long at 5-6x per day.0 -

I would be hard pressed to name a better use for test strips than finding out how many (or how few) carbs you can handle without spiking your BG....
