Tracey, I drink my high fiber smoothies with my OMAD meal--when I'm home anyway. After I get back and hug my daughter and fur babies, I'm going to kiss my Vitamix! I usually do a blueberry and banana smoothie with chia seeds and even oatmeal straight out of the box.

Did the keto diet up your bad cholesterols levels? I have no desire to do low carb or no carb diets, I'm just curious if you ate super high fat foods like a lot of keto peeps promote.

I think I will do an extended fast tomorrow and see if I can go to Saturday not eating Thursday and Friday. 37 hours has been my longest fast, but I believe I can do it.

Good luck!! I have GOT to try this - the more people I see that are successful at it, the more it makes me think I can possibly do it. I wonder why I have such a fear of feeling hungry!? Like what's the worst that can happen...

@minigrrl it's really not bad I promise... the hardest part for me seems to be not having something to quote look forward to at the end of the day but I keep myself busy and that seems to help plus some hot flavored tea ( I do blueberry sometimes and it's wonderful) seems to take the edge off the wanting to eat... once you're following omad it's really just a matter of skipping one meal to do a 48-hour fast... so really no biggie LOL

Good evening everyone, so I opted not to do the extended fast today. I attempted my fiber smoothie with my meal tonight but could not drink it because it was too thick. It is in my photo below. I think I will cut the banana out on my next attempt. My meal tonight was only 721 calories. I am back to work tomorrow so I may do my extended fast and eat again on Saturday. I will be attending a church function on Saturday afternoon that will be serving food so I will have my OMAD then and after that my next meal will be Sunday at my regular 6:00 pm meal time. This will allow me an extended fast both days. I may have to do a spreadsheet of my eating and fasting times so I can have a visual on how long I am going between meals. I really like this way of eating. I went to the nutritionist today and she commented on my weight loss since my last doctor appointment which was 6 pounds. They weighed me at 174 pounds on May 23 and today they weighed me in at 168 pounds. I am positive I will reach my June goal of getting into the 150's. Below is my picture of today's meal.

I did eat a lot of high fat foods while I was doing keto and it may have affected my cholesterol levels. I know it helped my hdl which was at 84 but my ldl was also high. My triglycerides were low which was good as well. I know you are supposed to fast before your blood work. I hadn't eaten anything but I did drink my bulletproof coffee with 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream and a tablespoon of MCT oil right up to the time I did my bloodwork. I don't know if that may have affected my results. I am not taking any chances so since I got my lab results back I have eliminated the bulletproof coffees and have added beans and upped my carb intake a bit. I am trying to get more fiber in as well. I don't get my bloodwork taken again until July 18. I wish I could take it now because I am sure everything is back within the normal levels. I hope to just reduce my ldl but keep my hdl at the higher number.

The week I didn't drink my grapefruit juice and ACV with my meal I lost no weight. When I got more and drank it the weight started dropping again so I am making it a staple item from now on.

You are doing so well! One thing about grapefruit juice (I love it). There can be interactions with meds with grapefruit juice so if you are drinking it often and taking any type of meds, check to make sure it's ok. the grapefruit juice doesn't allow the body to process some drugs and the drug levels can build up to dangerous levels in the body.

I downloaded an app called Fastrac where you can start and stop a fast - it logs how long you've fasted for in hours - saves keeping a spreadsheet plus quite encouraging to see the hours increase.

@tlblanksfit what an incredible update concerning your weight loss and doctor visit and your next couple days plan... and your food, per usual, looks fantastic! I have no doubt you'll reach your goals!

    Thanks everyone,

I will be sure to check out the Fastrac app. I did a spreadsheet for the rest of the month. I was inspired by a fellow OMADER, I am incorporating a no eating day every third day. I showed it to my husband and he was like are you sure you can do that and I told him since I am only eating one meal a day, it is just skipping one meal. He said he would be praying for me. I am committed to this way of eating and believe it won't be a problem.

On a more somber note, I was up 0.4 lbs this morning. I was hoping to have a loss but I am still at a loss overall for the week. I want to have at least a 2+ pound loss for this week come my official weigh in on Sunday. Today is a no eating day and I am excited about it. I will be having my water with ACV for dinner tonight.

Today was a successful no eating day. I drank water, chewed sugar free gum, and had Water mixed with ACV, cinnamon, ground ginger, and cayenne pepper for "dinner". I was tempted when my family went to Dairy Queen for dinner, I got nothing and sat with them while they ate. I was not really very hungry today and happy that I succeeded on my 2nd extended fast. I am looking forward to my meal on tomorrow though.

Yay!! Glad it went well! I find it surprising that I'm not more hungry when I fast but it's sure helpful. I don't know why I hesitate to do it more often, for health reasons, not even for weight loss. You've inspired me to start working a day in, here and there.

Yesterday's fast was a success. I was down 2.4 lbs this morning and I am feeling pretty good. I broke my fast (43 hours) today with a lunch time meal around 1:00 pm as I attended a church function that served lunch. I think I will definitely reach my goal of a 2+ pound loss for the week. Incorporating 2 no eating days a week will help greatly on the weight loss and health fronts. Below is the picture of today's meal.

It's Sunday Official Weigh in Day and I am happy to report this week a 4 pound weight loss and a 1% body fat loss. Today is also my 30th day on OMAD and in 30 days I have lost a total of 10 pounds and 2.9% body fat. :p;):D I couldn't be more happier with these results. Below is my weight spreadsheet.

The difference between week 4 and week 5 was the incorporation of 2 no eating days and adding back my ACV drinks. I will continue in this fashion. After being inspired by the OMAD KETO Warrior journal, I have created a fasting schedule. See below for this week's schedule. I have an 8 hour window scheduled for today as I have a long day and will be having a snack after my morning church service and will be eating a late dinner after a second church service we will be attending 2 hours away. My goal for this new week remains at least 2 pounds.

I was up 1.8lbs this morning after yesterday's meals. Today is a no eating day making a 44 hour fast so I am sure those pounds will be gone come tomorrow. I always have a big gain after eating a carby meal. I know I shouldn't do it, but I just love nachos. I will try to make this a low carb week and see how it goes. Still looking to be in the 150's by the end of the month.

So today is a no eating day. I had more hunger today at work than I would like. I drank some green tea with truvia this morning and I think that gave me the hungries. I rode it out and am doing well now. For "dinner" I am having water with 2tbs ACV, and a couple of dashes each of cinnamon, ground ginger, and cayenne pepper. Here is a picture. I am at the 23 hour mark in my extended fast and will break the fast tomorrow at my 6:00pm OMAD eating time. This will make it end up being a 46 hour fast.

I saw Joe's Fat+fiber+protein (FFP) meal video today and I think I will start making my meals to coincide with that. I always have a big gain when I eat carbs and I think the FFP meals will be better for me.

Still hanging strong with my extended fast. Was back down to my official Sunday weight (164.2) this morning so I am glad it only took one day to bounce back this time versus a week. I am now looking forward to the losses.

I was looking on line and found a pasta made of legumes (red lentils, green lentils, chickpeas, black beans). It has good amounts of protein and fiber so will fall in line good with Joe's Fat+protein+fiber meals and come in the different pasta forms (fettucine, rotini, elbow macaroni, penne, spaghetti). I ordered some online as I don't think too many local stores have them. They have good reviews and I am excited to try them. Here is the link

    http://tolerantfoods.com/

The cheapest places I found to order online are thrivemarket.com and luckyvitamin.com

I am sure they will be featured soon in one of my OMAD meals, I will report on how I like them then.

Not sure what I'll be having for dinner tonight, but I will post the picture later on.

I have decided to forgo the extended fasts and just stick to OMAD. I started doing the extended fast basically because I was inpatient with the results I was getting and wanted speedy losses like others were posting. Focusing on OMAD and making healthy food choices will get me where I need to be without the added stress on my body from the extended fasts. For occasions when I am facing eating outside my window I will just eat one meal regardless of time and that will be my OMAD and i will just wait to eat again at my regularly scheduled meal time. This may cause me to have some extended fast days, but they should be rare.
