I see nothing but protein and lots of good food on your plate. I don't see junk carbs. You're probably just retaining water from salt. That almost always happens to me, especially if I'm not the one who makes the food. Do you plug your food into MFP food diary? If so, what did your salt intake look like?

I often and up at some points during the week and all balances itself by my official weigh-in. I know for a fact that unless I eat out, like I've done quite a bit for the past couple of weeks due to traveling, I eat a very healthy diet. It's why I don't start axing any food groups when I see gains.

I was referring to Monday's (Memorial Day) meal with the macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and baked beans which are all high carb foods. I should have gotten smaller portions of those items.

Since going OMAD I have been trying not to eliminate food groups but it is hard when you see the gains on the days where you've eaten more carbs. It just makes you want to say the heck with carbs, but I know there is a balance and I am going to see how it goes with half servings of the higher carbs before going too low on the carbs. I did keto for a while and I know it worked for me, but I still had a desire for some carbs so I figured OMAD would give me the leeway to eat carbs and still meet my goals. I just have to watch the serving sizes. My portion plate helps with that. I forgot to take my plate with me to the BBQ and I kind of went overboard a tad.

Posting pictures of my meals also helps me avoid making bad choices so I will continue with that. My goal for June is to get into the 150's. I am currently at 169.8 so I will see how it goes and make tweaks along the way.

    Hello Everyone,

Today was a pretty good day. I was down 0.8 this morning so I lost more than half of the 1.2 pound gain from yesterday. Tomorrow is 1 June so I plan on going more strict with my carbs near keto levels. We are going on vacation the end of July and I hope to be at goal or knocking on it's door.

Here is my OMAD meal for the day.

Don't worry; you will continue to ride along downward and will enjoy the control you now are able to wield.

**Note to self: Do not view Tracey's journal until you've had your meal first!!!!!!!!

That said, well done on the overnight loss!

No losses or gains this morning. :/ I am looking forward to June as it is my Anniversary month <3 (celebrating 17 years of marriage to my wonderful husband on June 7th). I am looking to make great strides in my weight loss this month and am encouraged all around. Welcome to June everyone. Success wishes to all. We can do this!

Its ok that you didnt lose yesterday, you can weigh every day but dont get discouraged and just wait until the end of a full week to see your average...Congrats on 17 years :)

    Good evening everyone,

I was very hungry at work today. I rode it out and stayed to my meal time, but I was really really hungry. I was thinking that I haven't been eating enough. Below is my meal of the day. I ate nearly an hour later than my normal time because it took me longer to fix the pizza than I anticipated. We went to the movies tonight and I ate some of my husband's nachos and I am now drinking coffee with 2 TBS of heavy whipping cream and 1 TBS of MCT oil hoping that this will keep me from being as hungry tomorrow.

At night I find protein is key for me to help me for the next day. I go for 120g/day. While I'm fasting, I will take a little bit of coconut oil if needed. Good luck.

Today I ended up doing an eating 2 meals. Pictured below. June has not started out as I had planned and so far it doesn't look like I will be posting any loss for this week. I still have not bounced back from the 1.2lb gain on Monday. I am still encouraged though and will be staying the course. Tomorrow is another day and I plan to get back on track. I am looking at adding in a 48hr fast possibly on Monday. I have read other journals and they seem to help. My first meal or food eaten today was at the Movie Theaters and the second was a couple of hours later at home. I stayed under my calorie range with the additional exercise calories added.

Tracey, with your positive outlook, it's impossible for you to fail. I admire that you're not beating yourself up over the gain or extra meal.

Just go for it tomorrow. No problem. Once in a while splurges aren't going to hurt you. Just don't do them too frequently.

Thanks everyone, I feel I am losing weight at a turtle's pace. Today is day 22 on OMAD and I have lost a total of 4.6 pounds. I am grateful for the loss but just was hoping I would have shed more. I have been stuck at 169 all week. I hope for tomorrow's official weight I can at least get to 168. That would put me at a small loss for the week. It is amazing how one day can have the potential to set you back a week or more. Looking at this it doesn't make the splurges worth it when you are trying to reach a goal. I could have done better yesterday, and I will not allow that type of situation again cause me to get off plan. I think I was reading a thread the other day about how you handle situations that cause you to have to eat past your window. My situation would have put me behind about 2 hours past my eating time and I think I went into panic mode so I gave in and ate the hot dog and nachos at the movie theater. It would not have hurt me to wait out the movie and eat my meal later. Next time will be handled differently.

Well, that was yesterday and today is a new day. I did not gain any weight this morning :) and stayed at 169.6 however I track my body fat percentage as well and my body fat went down 0.1% so I will take that with a smile and look forward to today and what I can do to get the scales moving again. I definitely need to up my water intake, still struggling with that. I seem to be able to handle my fast better when I don't drink. It seems that when I drink, I get real hungry. I may do a 48 hour fast today. I already filled up my water bottle and am ready to take on the day.

Best wishes for a great Saturday to all. I will later post my meal or an empty plate if I decide to go with the extended fast.

Thank you all for all of your kind words and encouragements.

Tracey, four pounds is still great. I think it is normal after having lost 35 pounds altogether so far? You're only 29 and some odd points away from your goal. The slower you lose, the better chance you have of keeping it off. Remember, unless you're obese and it naturally flys off, .5-2lbs a week is ideal. Those 1 pound losses add up over time. You really are doing well!

You might be losing inches and then the scale will catch up...Are you only splurging one day a week? If you are then maybe try once every other week...I hope you don't get discouraged and give up...Good luck!!!

    Tracey,

4+ lbs in 22 days isn't bad! Don't put too much stock in any single measurement since the amount of water we retain fluctuates. Give it a few more days and see what your getting!

Thanks everyone, I do know that weight loss slows as you get closer to your goal weight and I have come to accept that. I am definitely not going to give up. I have not taken my measurements in a while so I need to do that soon. I did not do the extended fast today, I will do it on Monday. I believe it will be better for me if I do it on a workday. Below is my meal of the day.

Even losing slowly, you ARE losing and that's really what matters.

I hear you about one splurge setting you back a week - that's the story of my life! :) Weighing every day though, I've come to realise that it probably doesn't really set you back a whole week - maybe a few days and then you end up having a net loss at the end of the week which is what counts.

I think the OMAD thing is a pretty sustainable way of eating for me though, as I can actually feel full once a day, so even if the losses are a bit slow, it's worth it not to feel deprived all the time (which of course always ends up with me just giving up and an eating free-for-all disaster!).

    Happy Sunday Everyone,

I am sad to report that I stayed the same as yesterday and ended the week with a 0.2 gain. I am also happy to report a 0.3% loss in body fat for the week. Below is the spreadsheet of my OMAD journey up to today.

    a95o3hpvf3mn.jpg

I was thinking about it and the only thing that was different from my week where I had a 3.2 loss and this week was that I did not drink my grapefruit juice with ACV. I ran out and did not get any because I was trying to reduce carbs. After looking at my numbers, I went out and bought some Grapefruit Juice and Bragg's ACV. I drank some with my meal tonight. I will see how the week goes with me drinking my grapefruit juice and ACV with my meal and hold off on doing the extended fast as an option if I am not seeing any better results. Below is my meal of the day.

I do weigh my foods sometimes. I have cut down on that. When I was doing Keto, I weighed everything. I need to get back to it.
