@MegaMooseEsq I'm trying to figure the best way to track food/weight in my planner. I don't have a bullet journal though. I use an Erin Condren planner. I figured if I could keep track in there it may help me stay on track.

I hadn't heard of those - they look neat! From the sample on the website it looks like there's a dotted grid on the monthly goals page, or you could use one of the notes pages. I'm finding that limiting my meal options making tracking a lot more streamlined - that's not why I've been limiting my options, but it's a nice side-effect.

Yes, the new version has that but mine is last years model 😂 and has a lined page.

I have the three vertical boxes and love the freedom I have to plan as I need. It's my fav planmer of the million I've tried. I'm actually going to get a new one for 2020. I never repeat planners!

I swear I’m cutting back on what I eat. Why isn’t the scale in agreement?

Dh brought home taco casa tacos for lunch, so by time I came back from errands I didn’t realize how hungry I was and two quickly turned in to four. Surprisingly, they fit my macros nicely.

Twice this week I’ve relied on Walmart to shop for me and I just fetch it. Twice they’ve been out of critical ingredients. Once dh was with me, we parked and went in and bought the missing items. He was pissed. It’s like they are just too lazy to actually shop for you. So tonight’s dinner is the same. He told me not to do another order, and yet I did and we have no chicken or coconut milk so I guess, if dh is hungry, I’ll make a veggie korma with cream (milk), not coconut. He’s antsy for me to cook that load of zucchini from the garden... and I’m still stuffed from tacos.

I haven’t done my pt for the day. Yuck. It made my hip hurt and I dun wanna. So I’m all “waah waaah” on the couch. It might get me out of cooking. Hehe. Nah, I’ll cook. Then probs eat. Oh no, milk, not coconut. No eat. Butt, it might help me “loose” weight. Get it. Loose bowel? Ya that’s an awful poop joke.

It has been awfully quiet over here... hope it isn't because I woo'd @elise4270's 💩 joke! 😁

@MegaMooseEsq - I hope you are doing well and that the new kitty is fitting in nicely with the other 2.
@RunsOnEspresso - I had to look up nexplanon honestly thought it was a typo. I never used bc and had given up getting pregnant until I did after 11 years with dh. Never used it again after my daughter was born and still only had her.

@elise4270 - I would complain to Walmart about the missing items. Not sure it would help but maybe worth a try. I suspect they give the 'new kids' the jobs of filling those orders and they may have no clue where some things are and can't find them so just leave them out. I have never tried any of those services but when our older neighbor lady was at home I wanted her to try the delivery service when I couldn't get to the store for her.

I was going through my calorie data yesterday, generally updating my spreadsheets and that was one I hadn't done much with for a while because it means manually collecting the data from MFP. I am still not eating enough. I am eating more but I am consistently missing my minimum, non-workout goal of 1900 calories. I don't want to eat junk and I just don't see where I can add in more 'good food' that is calorie dense. Let me know if you have suggestions. I may have to stalk some others' diaries though...
Yesterday was generally a bad day food wise. I went to the ortho surgeon with my elderly friend. I had to be at the home before lunch to meet her transport and then we didn't get back until after 4. I had planed to run out and get us a treat afterwards at Starbucks. Long story short she was hoping to be a knee replacement candidate but she had waited too long to agree to it and is not a candidate. She was extremely upset on the way home wondering if she will ever be able to go back to her own home. Clearly she wasn't interested in food of any kind... I ended up eating an emergency granola bar I keep in my car on my way home. Then having some bread and balsamic before dinner because I was still starving. I ended up too high on carbs and low on protein and woke up so hungry this morning!

Haha! @shanaber yes it because of the poop. Nah!

I'm sticking to the intermittent fasting and not eating until after 3. It seems to be working. The scale this morning actually flirted with 119.x, out of the 120's. I know that sounds vain. My BF is 30%, I really need to be adding muscle not cutting calories. That's just not something I can focus on right now... Yet. Or I could try upper body stuff

No food plans today... I should do something about that. We had like 5 dozen eggs so I suppose I can make some. I like egg sandwiches alright, so... Maybe.

@shanaber Yah, it's not the most well known bc but I went with it after reading horror stories about IUDs. There wasn't much about nexplanon except some people still get periods or spotting all the time. I lucked out and have no period and only after about 2.5 years did I start spotting once a month. I was over having to take a pill everyday and my pill was discontinued and the generic didn't help my PMDD symptoms.

Also, is your diary open? I would take a look at it if you wanted and see what you eat now versus what I would recommend. You can look at my diary but I'm still aiming for 1650ish calories and eating junk!

We always have more zucchini... no matter how much I cook, there’s more. Dh has a coworker that likes the larger ones for the boats. I may try it, I like acorn squash that way, I might like zucchini. Really I just don’t. But no food sounds spectacular lately.

We’ve been eating a lot of tostadas lately.

@shanaber congratulations on the weights. I found a few small weights in the cat room while updating it to the cat office. I figure I should at least try to grab those regularly if I won’t get to the Y. I’m about caught up from healing down time and study time, so next week I should be able to go. The assistant yesterday at my pcp visit said I was familiar, she thinks she’s seen me at the y... I said perhaps, but I am not a regular. She does weights, she’s just a kid... but maybe we can gym hang. I’ll take all the motivation I can get.

165.3 this morning, first time I've seen that number in a month. Feels good to be making progress.

Boy did I backslide. I found a Netflix show, In The Dark, and found snacks because I didn’t eat until after 4 and seemed to be feeling it after a short walk in the not so hot. I ate all the tostada shells and 2 bowls of coconut rice. So my weight this morning swung 2 pounds up. Its prob pms, although my watch feels unusually loose. I’m really hating this. All my clothes are too snug particularly my bras. But, my pt seems to be paying off, my gait feels better. The knee is still an issue but the pt said it has to overcome quite a lot with the reorientation of my leg.

Food plans today are to skip some carbs. Maybe skip Netflix today and study for the GRE.

My husband is learning to bake. He bakes a loaf of bread every week for sandwiches, which is fine because aside from a breakfast sandwich on Sat morning, I don't really do sandwiches.
But, on Fridays he bakes a new recipe for us to eat on Saturday. Well, he made brownies last night. A warm brownie can not be left alone. Especially a scratch made brownie. So I had a brownie. And a half. And a couple glasses of a sparkling rosé I had in the fridge. And it was delicious and awesome.
I did skip my planned dessert last night, so it was just a (much) higher calorie dessert substitution. Whatever. I have been munchy all week and last night was the first day I felt totally satisfied in several days. I think I probably needed a few more calories. Or it's PMS. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@martaindale - I would love it if my dh learned to bake! OTOH it is probably better he doesn't because I would want to eat it all!
@Elise4270 - how is the walking going?
@RunsOnEspresso - how are you doing with your single crutch walking? I keep seeing you dropping weight on the newsfeed - wish it were me!
@MegaMooseEsq - Glad you are seeing progress too!

I seem to be stuck on a plateau. Not going up or down really. I did do all the other measures today and was pleased to see the %fat drop 2% and muscle go up by about the same amount. I am at the lowest body fat I have been at in months. Still have a ways to go but I was pretty excited to see it going down even if my weight isn't.

What are you all cooking this weekend? I think we are bbqing a tri-tip. It isn't my favorite cut of meat so it invariably gets passed over in the freezer but now we need to cook it.
I am planning some IP dishes for this next, probably just chicken but I also have a pork loin.

@shanaber Walking continues to be aggravating. I want to get out but my body rebels. I am still seeing pay off in hip strength. But the poor gait makes the hip joint hurt (labrum tear) and yesterday felt like the femur head pulled from the socket when I let my leg go back too far on push off, sudden ouch! Probably just a catch on the torn part. I think I’m irritating the mild GT bursitis on the opposite side -perhaps he’ll give me another steroid shot... how many of those have I had? 6? 7 if you count the si joint by a different doc that refused to acknowledge my “piriformis syndrome”. 8 if the arthrogram had steroid... hey, what’s another. Can ya tell some days I feel like I’ve been through a lot? Maybe this one can be resolved with a few shots and won’t require surgical removal. You know those bursa come back after being removed? Just remove the inflamed one and hope the one that comes back isn’t angry.

    Food
I’m going to plano today. I had planned on fixing a roast, but dd just asked if it meant I was bring home Panera. So, Panera today. I may fix the roast anyway.

I thought about getting another DXA Scan to see where I am on the BF/muscle. I don’t know that it matter right now since I’m kinda stuck and can’t do much about it. I’ll mull it over.

Love everyone’s progress. @RunsOnEspresso I hope you can ditch that crutch soon. I hated how slow it made me then found out I was faster on them. Haha! @shanaber keep at it, you’re making progress!

Well... I better get this day started. Do good.

I stopped using the crutch on Saturday. It started to be more of a hassle than helpful. I'm slow but working on walking a bit more each day. Today I drove to the park and ride and walked from the bus stop to work.

You got any pie? Ice cream? Fine. I’ll eat a fruit bar.

What else you got stashed away?

I got nothin' DH even ate all the ice cream.... wait there may be a mint Yasso bar left. Fight you for it?

Hahaha! @shanaber! I found the last raspberry fruit bar, so it’ll do!

Any food plans today? I have none. I may have a tuna sandwich. I do the Walmart pick up, and they always mess something up. Yesterday was a can of tun in oil rather than water and 50% less sodium. So... sounds indulgent. The cats might like the oil, especially the scrawny one.

I need to go swim and quit trying to walk. I have bursitis on the left GT that had been threatening to flare up. Yesterday it did horribly. Why not. I’m restless anyway.

Anyone have a food challenge through the weekend?

I am heading to Laguna to the art festivals with a friend from San Diego. It's a good midway point to meet and she hasn't been to the art festivals. I am not really into it but it is fun to walk around and see what the artists are working on. That and the location is so beautiful. I have no idea how long we will be there or what we will eat so other than breakfast - no food plans.
I have an ongoing food challenge but not with being in a challenging food situation like a party or anything. I just have not been cooking or even wanting to cook. Last night we actually ate Del Taco... something I never do willingly. It wasn't terrible and fit my macros ok but I don't think it will happen again any time soon. I need to figure out some things (actually plan, yes) to cook for the next few days at least. I'm just really tired of it and want someone to cook really good, healthy food for me for me and grocery shop. I don't wanna do that either.

@Elise4270 - I find when I eat something like tuna in oil when I have been eating tuna in water for a long time, while it sounds indulgent, I don't care for it much. But if you are mixing it with other ingredients maybe you won't notice much. When do you see the doctor again and do they have a plan for you to get beyond the pain and issues you have now that you are healed and ready to get back to being active? Dare I ask do you have to go back to work soon?

    @MegaMooseEsq - have a great time!
I will be in Seattle (and north up to the Skagit Valley) next weekend! I am going to a King Arthur Baking school with my DD. Should be fun!!

So today was fun walking and looking at all the art. We hit 3 art festivals and had delicious Greek chicken kabob salads for lunch. Got home and made some IP chicken and veggies for dinner. I used what I thought was an Italian seasoning mix on the chicken (Tuscan blend) and it was so spicy it made my lips burn even after I scraped most of it off the chicken. I didn't eat much of it and ended up having to throw out the leftovers because it was just too spicy. Makes me sad to be wasteful but it was really terrible.
Also I was starving all day. It didn't matter what I ate a little bit after and my stomach was growling and I would be feeling like I needed to eat immediately. I even had to eat one of the rescue granola bars, I keep in my car for emergencies, while I sat in traffic trying to get home. I don't know what is up with that, something new for me.
So I had the last Yasso bar (sorry @Elise4270) and coffee with protein powder tonight. Hopefully this will tide me over until the morning.

I got back from my WI trip on Wednesday night. We ate horribly while we were gone - lots of not healthy snacks in the car on the way up and back and lots more food than I normally consume while I was there. I was up 5 pounds from when I left on Thursday morning. I'm back down 3 pounds, so I'm sure that amount was water. The rest only time will tell. I hope to do a lot better food and exercise wise this week. (I did zero exercise while I was gone and very little walking.) No real plans though. Tomorrow will not be a "diet" kind of day as it is my birthday and my neighbor is going to make me homemade ice cream with strawberries to top it off. Birthday calories don't count. Right?

Happy, Happy Birthday @quilteryoyo!! And birthday calories do not count! Enjoy!!
@Elise4270 - I love it when cats curl up like that! They always look so cute trying to fit into something they shouldn't or that is much smaller than they think.

I have had some terrible cooking nights of late... Made IP chicken with Tuscan seasonings that was too spicy to eat and then last night took split pea soup out of the freezer for dinner and it was terrible water yucky mess. I am not sure at all what happened to it but neither of us wanted to eat it. Dh went to Chipotle and I had his leftover chicken noodle soup from Panera (he got two orders of it instead of one) and these little naan dippers and my leftover 1/2 bean burrito. Didn't meet my macros or calorie goals... oh well. Now I am worried about what to make for dinner tonight. Dh is threatening to get TV dinners! 😱
With it so hot I am thinking just a big salad with some grilled chicken. Don't think I could mess that up.
Tomorrow night BIL is coming over and we are bbq'ing burgers so that should be fun and I will have my long run to refuel from!

I have been eating out so much lately. At least I had some fresh vegetables too, my neighbor keeps giving me squash and peppers. But I just can’t seem to get motivated to cook anything right now. I’ve been living off rotisserie chicken, canned tuna, frozen fruit with yogurt, box salad, and takeout.

Lost 3 lbs though, back down under goal weight. I lose weight every year while housesitting, despite eating badly, because we swim so much.

I'm up a pound but I'm not worried. I doubled my steps (ag 4k/day) last week and felt so hungry all week.
