Tracey's 50 Days to Maintenance

If you follow my OMAD journey thread, I posted that I will be ending my weight loss journey on November 9, 2017 and beginning maintenance on November 10, 2017 which leaves me 50 days to lose as much weight as I can with the goal of reaching 144 pounds. I will begin maintenance at whatever weight I weigh in on November 10 so this thread is my challenge thread to challenge me to stay on course and reach my ultimate goal.

With this challenge as with my birthday challenge, I will stick with the OMAD basics and record my daily weights here.

I love the new countdown, and you know, I really think you're on to something here. I think I will end my journey on January 21 regardless of what I weigh. Inch loss/dress size, overall health, confidence, and gains in strength are what really matter to me anyway. I would love to just move into maintenance once and for all. I think I will be doing the countdown in December.

I think seeing the countdown will force me to stick more to the program if I see myself not where I want to be as I get closer. Right now I have been eating off plan somewhat. I think as I get within the 30 day mark, I will be more strict. Scratch that, I am going to get it in gear now so I can have steady losses. After my water fast, I should be back where I started so I will go back to the basics and go back to eating my meal after I get home from work. I like eating earlier, but it is much easier to just eat at home.

I want to be able to lose my weight without having to use the water fasts, so I can't go off plan. I want to have the water fasts as part of my maintenance, so after this water fast I will be doing OMAD daily until I reach maintenance.

That sounds like good thinking, Tracey! That was kind of the only thing that stopped me from regularly water fasting throughout this weight loss journey. I wanted this to be the final one, and I didn't want to have to depend upon it for weight loss. I do really enjoy them for the therapeutic benefits, so I will definitely be using them in maintenance, but not for weight loss.
Also, we are SO close in weight! How crazy is that! We've been exactly 0.1 apart for the past couple of days.

Thanks, this is usually the point where I sabotage and have a weight gain but this time I plan to stay the course and continue to lose.

OMG, I thought I was the only one who did this! For whatever reason, whenever I see a new low or get an unusually big drop, I get the subconscious urge to binge later that day and I have to actively fight it. I have no idea why this happens! Maybe it's connected to using food as a reward, but it happens literally every time!

That's interesting! I've never experienced this! Good numbers motivate me to do more...it'd be fascinating to study the psychology behind this

It is very weird and incredibly counterproductive. I won't even be hungry and out of nowhere, my body (or mind, I guess) will literally scream for food. Serious, serious self-sabotage. That, the frustration of water fluctuations, and being depressed if I don't see a good loss (and subsequently binging because I'm upset) are the reasons why I don't like weighing daily. The scale can really put me on an emotional roller coaster.

It mostly just pisses me off! LMAO - I don't tend to get down on myself if I don't see the loss I want or think I earned, I just get aggravated LOL
