My birthday challenge thread is a jumbled up mess, so I decided to create a fresh new space now that I feel I am finally on the right track. I will post daily meals and Monday morning weigh-ins (except on my period) until my 30th birthday on January 22, which is when I will enter maintenance once and for all!

The plan is to follow my hunger, which has me naturally following OMAD. If I feel I need more than one meal, I will follow the FAA plan. I have had amazing success with this plan as a diagnosed binge eater.

I am so excited to get to a new chapter in my life and to put an end to this weight rollercoaster!

    Day 1: 11/27
    Weight: 153.4

I'm finding that I tend to eat around 6:00/6:30 lately.
I didn't get a picture of today's dinner, but it was a bowl of catfish stew over Nigerian jollof rice. Dessert was a small oat-blackberry jam square and a scoop of chocolate frosty. I'm currently savoring a glass of merlot as my digestif.

I still cannot get over the fact that I have taken two ice cream scoops out of a small frosty, and I am not even halfway through the cup. I can't stop thinking about all those years when I had a large frosty with fries, chicken nuggets, and sweet tea. That woman would not recognize who I've become.

    Thanks for the support, everyone!
I'm happy to report that even though I was much more active today (4x as much walking as I did in the past week on Thanksgiving break - I was super lazy), my hunger still came and left without me feeling panicked. I was really apprehensive about that today, but it worked out! I did have a slight headache a couple of hours ago, but it went away after I took some quiet relaxation time.

Awesome news. Nice to have fleeting hunger rather than overwhelming, all you can think about hunger, that’s for sure!

I would eat that oat bar for sure and if a Frosty is a milk shake then I would eat that too :p

You’ve never had a frosty??? They’re these chocolate frozen milk things (not a milkshake and not quite ice cream - a mix between ice milk and soft serve, I guess) from Wendy’s. They probably don’t even really pass for real food, but they are pretty tasty!

    Day 3: 11/29

No picture today because I eat in class on Wednesdays and Thursdays, but I had a decent appetite today and had two pieces of a small gluten-free pizza, 3/4 of a chocolate caramel bar, and a few handfuls of kettle corn. Not super healthy, but not all days are!

    Day 4: 11/30

No picture again, but it wasn't anything to look at anyway since I wasn't super hungry (probably due to all I ate yesterday!). I had a tuna sandwich and most of a little bag of sour gummies.

I have to write a huge paper this weekend, so I have tried to break it up into doable portions so I won't be pulling any all-nighters. I usually binge on Sour Patch Kids and energy drinks during finals, but I am determined to not do that this year! I feel confident that this round of finals will go much better than in the past.

You have come a long way and I am sure this will be another testimony you will have of how much farther you've come. Those past usuals are no more. You've got this.

Going to school can be very stressful. I went back to grad school in the early 90s at nights after work and I would stay up late and to keep me going I would eat ice-cream or chips and salsa. That was the beginning of me putting on weight. I was not heavy before that. It is a challenge but you have some good tools to work with now also. Keep up the good work!

Heh, no I don't think Frosty's count as real food. In my former life I'd get a Frosty and a large fries and dunk the fries in the Frosty! It was good but I don't miss that kind of stuff.

Thank you SO much for the support, everyone! So far so good! My meal will be coming around soon, and I was very productive despite the lack of sugar and caffeine. 1/4 done and just three more to go! :#
I’m still in my first semester and have five additional semesters of pre-dissertation coursework, but I am loving being back. Like Bob, I tend to gain weight while in school. I graduated 20 pounds heavier than when I started with both of my previous degrees. Not this time.

I know a lot of people who do that! I have never tried it, but I am sure it is downright addictive (as I’m sure they planned).
I still have the last fourth to finish today, and I doubt I will have another any time soon.

    Day 5: 12/1

    Today's OMAD:

    gdbtlqw449gb.jpg

Two grilled fish tacos (got rid of half of the tortillas - they were double wrapped for some reason, and there was no way I could finish that)
    Handful of tortilla chips
1/2 of a dark chocolate bar with caramel rice crispies
1 scoop of frosty (I THOUGHT I was going to finish it today, but there's still another scoop in there!!!)
    Gummy multivitamins
    A glass of red

I bought 6 fish tacos and expected to eat three for each meal, but there was absolutely no way I could've eaten another taco unless I cut back on dessert (which will never happen!). Looks like I will be eating the same thing all weekend.

ETA: I struggled through my glass of wine today even though it was only 4 ounces. My stomach feels SO full. I will definitely be pouring much less from now on.

I've changed my mind again. I will begin practicing yoga again when I hit the 140s, but it will be a gentle version in my home -- likely on my balcony at sunset. I really, really miss it, and I think it will be a great way to end the year. I know I will definitely be practicing Bikram once I enter maintenance, so this will be a nice transition.

    Day 6: 12/2

No picture today because it was pretty much the same meal as yesterday with a few spoonfuls of Nutella instead of the chocolate bar (god, this stuff is dangerous!).
I am thinking of making an individual serving of macaroni and cheese tomorrow after seeing @tlblanksfit's post the other day. I just have to figure out how to add in some protein so I'm not hungry later - maybe some of the Beyond Meat crumbles I didn't get to finish.

    Britt,

You can use the beyond meat crumbles in the Veggie tot or tater tot casserole I made the other day. I used beef in my recipe, but the crumbles will most likely work also. The recipe I followed for the small serving I did was

200 grams grass fed ground beef (You can use the beyond meat crumbles)
    1/4 cup chopped onions
    100 grams mixed vegetables
1/2 of a 10.5 oz can of cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup to 1/2 cup shredded triple cheddar cheese
veggie tots or tater tots to cover

Brown ground beef with onions or Prepare crumbles according to package ( add seasoning to taste)

In a bowl mix together beef or crumbles with mixed vegetables and cream of mushroom soup

Place mixture in bottom of greased casserole dish

    cover mixture with shredded cheese

Top with veggie tots or tater tots

I cooked in my air fryer on the baking setting and monitored for doneness . You can bake it in a 350 degree oven until tots are cooked golden and crispy per your liking.

I love yoga, and also let my practice go. Your post got me thinking........ and, I miss it too. I need to make it a priority again. The thing about yoga is that it's your personal practice, it's your time to check-in, it's simply your time to be honest in your connection. Why wait? If you miss it, start now. It's a gift that you give yourself, so don't hold back. You deserve it.

Thank you, Tracey! I am definitely going to make that in the week after finals and before we head north for the holidays. That’s a perfect one and done meal for the week!

Susan, you’re absolutely right! I really miss those centering and therapeutic benefits. I just have it stuck in my head that I just want to get out of these 150s before doing anything that will build muscles. I build them soooo easily, and then I usually end up plateauing for months, and I just want to conquer this first. My body always fights me so much to get below 150 and 135. The middle 15 usually fly by for me, so I want to get to that middle before risking a plateau, especially because I am ending my weight loss journey in a few weeks. Inches lost and strength gained matter way more to me than weight loss, but I also know that 150 pounds is just too much for me to carry around at my height. I don’t want to risk plateauing there. I hope that makes sense!
