Well I wouldn't consider yesterday as a moderate day by any means, but it's not common to lunch with my mommy, so......
Monday-2 bourbon drinks at lunch, 2 manhattans and a glass of wine at home.
Not sure about tonight BUT it will definitely be moderate if anything happens. I need to get back into sipping on wine instead of guzzingly delicious vodka drinks!

Ha Ha Katie...that's why I try to stay away from the hard stuff. I have yet to learn how to sip those like a normal person.

After 3 0's and felling blah...I'm back to feeling myself. 2 Glasses of wine last night. Probably the same tonight after a busy day and a good workout.
Wrapping up the summer with busy plans. Out of town this weekend where there will be a lot of partying. Throwing a huge going away BBQ for my son the following weekend...then a vacay up the coast of California as we drop him off for college. Can't believe the summer is almost over.

    Hi lovely lushes,

    Sunday - 1 glass wine
    Monday - 0

I am turning into a non lush and I am not sure why.

Here is a fun lush video. If there was a bar around here that did stuff like that I would go to them more often.

Syd, I am with you, the summer has FLOWN by!

Indeed, you normally have to pay for entertainment like that- although I suspect there was some photoshop trickery there!

BTW here is my favorite bar joke of all times- told by chimpanzees!

Boy am I gonna miss a nice glass of red on a cold night. That torched cherry sounds scrumptious.

Wolf are we going to have to take away your lush card?

Ok well....last night wasn't exactly a moderate night either. We decided to grab a bite out at our fav beer bar, so that means beer HAD to be drank. Even though I indulged a bit I still had a kick *kitten* workout this morning!!!
Monday-2 bourbon drinks at lunch, 2 manhattans and 1 small glass of wine.
Tuesday-4 beers and 2 glasses of wine
    Wednesday-I make no predictions

    Way to go Gary!

I finished off the torched cherry last night. I am failing miserably this week at the zeros. I think it is because my brain is already in vacation mode. I am sooo ready.

I do that too, Robin. Sometimes it's best just to give in and do a restart when you get back.

Way to get in the workout, Kate!
Gary, sleep issues suck. Great job on the 0's though!

I am reminded about how wonderful it is to be healthy...just those few days of being sick really sucked and I'm so grateful to be feeling better!
I've been working in the yard sprucing things up a bit since I'm having that party later this month. Need to finish some flower planting today and then I'm off to the salon to get purty
My usual moderate wine consumption is going on

    Nice job Ryze!!

I'm with you on the healthy thing SoCal. I once in a very rare blue moon get sick and when I get better it is the best feeling.

It was and still is an absolutely gorgeous day here today. The perfect temp, a nice breeze rustling the leaves, lots of sunshine and now the amazing scent of someone grilling burgers. Finished up a good work out and now relaxing while husband finishes his second work out of the day. Think I'll go make a big mug of Refresh Tazo mint tea

    Happy hump day!

Syd, yeah the restless sleep sucks. I hate waiting for it to be late enough to get out of bed. Could be worse, I could be working still!

Kat- Thanks for the words of encouragement- today was tough- worked in the yard for an hour or two, then grilled pork loin skewers on the bbq. A beer sounded so good and I have some pyramid apricot ale in the fridge. I did not yield tho' as then I would have to pony up to the group and admit being human.

    Have a great evening!

Not quite ready to turn in my lushy card just yet. Working on my third glass of wine. I know I am somewhat of a light weight in the drinking department here, but after two glasses I really do get a nice buzz going.

I totally hear you on the sleep thing, Gary.

My poor dog, Callie, has an allergic reaction to something (probably a flea) and has given herself quite the hot spot on her tail and has been really restless at night scratching, thus keeping me awake. I suffer from insomnia anyways but this makes it worse. Going to the vet tomorrow so hopefully she can get some relief and it will trickle down for some sleep for me. Poor thing has been wearing a doughnut thing around her head to discourage scratching but her snout is so dang long she can still reach her tail. :grumble:
    Poor baby...

Ok, ok ....last night a big fat zero...a sip of Lenny's beer doesn't count, right  ....although I refrained from drinking I ATE ALL THE FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like lots of PB!! And I feel kind of gross today but I'm going to chalk up my ravenous hungry to a great morning workout and being pre-tom (Sorry Gary  )

So far my week has been:
    Monday-5 drinks
    Tuesday-6 drinks
    Wednesday-0
Thursday-probably 2 or 3 glasses of wine. Len is working OT and I have to pack for our camping/tubing trip this weekend. Lenny is picking me up from work tomorrow so I gotta make sure I got everything. I am really not a camper...only done it 2x in my life...and I have to say I am not really looking forward it. We are going to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Why are we driving 3hrs from our house to go camping and tubing, you may ask..when the Delaware and lots of beautiful parks are right here in our back yard....well my friends because they turn a blind eye to drinking on the river...that's right this trip was planned by my husband and his friend because we can drink in a tube going down the river

Sooo.... I decided my 0's will be Monday - Thursday. And then last night I decided to trade this week's Sunday for a Wednesday.

    Mon - 0
    Tues - 0
Wed - 1/2 bottle sauvignon blanc, 1/2 bottle rose, about one Corona light

Feel a little sleepy today. I think Eric and I decided we will pretty much always drink Friday and Saturday and then have a floating day. It can be Sunday or Tuesday or whatever other day we want. I probably didn't need that beer last night. I went to bed a little drunk. :drinker: So 0 tonight. Friday is a golf scramble where I usually drink about 5 light domestic beers, and hopefully just another 1 or 2 real drinks at home after. Otherwise I'll feel like poo Saturday. Have 50th birthday plans for bro-in-law Saturday night, so surely I'll drink more than I should.

Ashley- Nice job on the zeros- I like how you traded a Sunday for a Wednesday!

kblue- Not to worry - your "pre-tom" went right over my head. I can only imagine it had something to do with being female. :noway:
I can relate abstaining and being ravenous. I felt like I needed to constantly be eating last night.

Diana, sorry about you bouts of insomnia and your dog's hot spot. BUT her pic of the donut on her head is adorable! For my trouble getting to sleep I occasionally take a melatonin and sometimes a Benadryl. Puts me to sleep and the dreams are quite intense.

One more zero and then off to the liquor store. One nice thing about cutting back- I allow myself a better grade of booze!

Light rain today in the PacNW- we had quite the dry spell and the rain was welcome for a change.

haha Kate...I'm not a camper either...but if you have to do it...drinks are mandatory!

I'm going to go for a 0 tonight but thats only because we're leaving for the weekend and I am certain there will be many, many cocktails consumed. So I'm going to give my liver a day off. :glasses:

I wonder where Kim has been. She hasn't posted for a while. I am getting really excited about Alaska. I am so ready to get away. Doug bought some walkie talkies (cell service is to hit and miss) so he can wander off and fish and still be able to stay in touch, while I sit in our RV and enjoy my wine and Kindle. It sounds so relaxing to me.

I hope you all have a wonderfulyy lushy day!

Awww poor pup :frown: hope she's better soon :flowerforyou:

Can't say I ever really felt crazy hungry on my 0's Monday-Thursdays, hmmm.

Great job on the 0's though everyone  and Ryze rewarding yourself with good booze for 0's is great motivation in my book, awesome idea.

Kate I love to camp but my lady husband does not. He considers it pretending to be a homeless person. I just love sitting around a nice camp fire with a good drink and company then snuggling up inside a nice sleeping bag in a tent. Granted last time we brought a blow up mattress for the tent but hey we were still camping haha.

We leave for Top Sail NC next Friday after the wedding we're going to. Same house as last year right on the beach  I'm actually looking forward to my first vacation not drinking. Although husbands mom who is not a big drinker is apparently very excited for drinking, little does she know I'll have to go the virgin route.

Heading to my doctor tomorrow with my list of questions and such, as long as I can still have the teas I love then I'll be easy to deal with haha.

Hello to all my dear lushes....

Life is busy, busy here. We are gearing up to send daughter off to college and all boys back to school. Football has officially started.

I've been an incurable lush and stopped even trying to try. I have 2 trips to the state fair next week and a dancing night in-between, our trip to the lake house the following week and the Oktoberfest party after that.

I had mojitos last night with girlfriend and feel sluggish today which sucks because I need to get things done for this party. Tonight, I am going to girls' night at the wine club so wine will be had. No question there.

Exercise has been put to the wayside and I really need to get this big butt in gear.

Robin, Alaska sounds amazing...Ron loves his kindle while I still prefer a paper version.

OK, I need lushy input for this party....kind of like an open house and I need to order kegs. It could be anywhere from 50 to 80 people.

I'm thinking 6 gallons of Sam's Oktoberfest (sorry Kat) and a half barrel of Miller Lite for the whimps.

    6 gallons is 60 servings
1/2 barrel is about 80 servings
3 boxes of wine for the whinos

I think I might be light on the beer...any suggestions?

Kim, nice to see you back on the thread! Getting down to business, it sounds like you are planning a hell-of-a-party.

As for light on beer, if you got an extra keg and you don't tap it, can you return it?

Also, you could always get some growlers of beer or cans/bottles and put them in a cooler of ice. By the time they would be broken into, no one would care that it's not on tap. Then you can have the leftovers for later.

Be sure to pour an octoberfest in a cup and put it in a place of honor for us lushes who can't attend.

Kim, I am so bad with predicting how much booze to get for parties. I always overdo it and end up with a lot leftover. With that said a couple extra cases of beer are always safe to have AND they keep better than a keg!

Last night I had 2 strawberry kiwi vodkas with sprite zero and 2 glasses of wine, about 10oz. It might not seem like moderation but considering I was doing laundry, packing and food prepping from 5 to 9 I'd say that was pretty good!!

All bets are off for the weekend (like what else is new  ) Leaving at 4 to head to West Virginia.

I hope my boss isn't too annoying today...and I can keep my good mood going

    Happy friday xo

Oops. I drank again last night, but only about 2 glasses of rose' so.....not too bad. Let's recap!

    Mon - 0
    Tues - 0
    Wed - 5
    Thurs - 2
Friday - I'm guessing 5 beers on the course and a couple glasses of wine at home
Saturday - 2 wines at dinner, and now the family is coming to our place instead of going out, which probably means I'll drink more. I predict a bottle of wine.
Sunday - going to shoot for a 0

    Have a great weekend lushes!

0 last night. As Kate said...all bets are off this weekend. Which starts around noon today. :drinker:

I say extra booze for a party is better than not enough haha.

I picked up some non-alcoholic wine and champagne  I'm very excited to try it because I think it will make me feel happier than not being able to have anything at all, it's sad when you get very sad at the thought of not being able to have booze  It's red wine so if it's good I'll be having that this Fall/Winter because I love red in the cool months. Once I'm further along I may have a glass of real red now and again and a glass of bubbly for the new year  We're having a family dinner tonight for my Unc's birthday, I absolutely love these dinners

So on the subject of the non-wine, I'll log that when I'm on here so I can still sort of be a lush  if that's alright with my fellow lovely lushes?

Happy weekend all! Those with fun weekends have an amazing time and those being lazy like me have a nice relaxing weekend :flowerforyou:
