Hi Challengers, new and 'old'!!
Welcome to the February Challenge My name is Jacki and I am a fellow teammate and Co-Captian of this AMAZING team. @HASWLRS , our Team Captain, will be giving us all a formal welcome post in the days to come - I just wanted to get the ball rolling early for those of you who are checking in after being tagged by Craig in the registrations.
Typically we begin out month with introductions, So let's GO!!! who are you and why did you join?2 -
I'm continuing from the January Challenge. After taking December "Off", I discovered that it was very difficult for me to stay on track without the MFP logging and holding myself accountable with regular weigh ins. The month of January has been about getting back into the rhythm of logging, weighing and interacting with MFP groups. This year, I'm trying to reach my goals through slow and consistent weight loss. I'm looking forward to continued accountability and success in February through rest, whole foods and activity.4

Im continuing from January. I rapidly gained 40kg since getting married...This year we want to start a family and my obgyn advised me I have to get my bmi below 30 if he is going to even consider my personal birth choice... I developed other health problems also because of my rapid obesity. This year I am committed to make healthier choices and adjustments to my lifestyle. I wish to regain full health and wellness so I can be there for my spouse and future kids.3

@HASWLRS can I please change my weigh in day for February to Saturday? I’m hoping it will make me more accountable on Friday nights0

Hi All! This is my fourth month I think with TBBT, and my 8th month since starting to revamp my health and fitness. I started out at 225lbs and am in the low 190s now with a weight goal of around 150lbs. I take it pretty slow and try not to get bent out of shape with the ups and downs.
This month my focus will be on getting ready for surgery as I'm evicting my gallbladder on March 7th since it seems to be unimpressed with my weightloss.
So to that end, my February fit/health Goals are:
- lose between 5-8lbs
- prep meals 5 out of 7 days
- Swim 3 days a week
- walking 7 days a week. My poor dogs are bored with this weather.
- pull together recipes for after surgery to help my husband out when he's taking care of everything.
My January goals went to hell in a handbasket. Bless.
If you're new to the group, welcome! it's very positive and supportive and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!2 -
Hello, team The Big Butt Theory! Welcome to February and a special welcome to the newcomers. Please introduce yourself to the team so we can extend a proper greeting.
Hi, my name is Lisa and I have been with this team since October and a co-captain since December. As @jackinorrie mentioned, she and I will be captaining the team this month. Thank you, Jacki, for returning to TBBT and offering to help out.
I did really well with this challenge until Christmas, then I completely fell off the rails. I am hoping February is my month to get back in the groove! Being involved with this group helps to at least keep my head above water!!
A little about this challenge.....it runs Sunday to Saturday. Post your weigh-in on this thread on your chosen weigh-in day. If you need to miss a weigh-in, let us know. If you forget to post a weigh-in, post as soon as you remember, up until Saturday evening. (I'd say Saturday at midnight, EST, but I am not up that late....I don't know about Jacki!) Please post a weight even if you have gained. There is no judgement here, only support, and it happens to all of us at some point!! If you miss two weigh-ins, you will be removed from the month and will have to re-register for the next month if you wish to continue.
We are all here for the same reason....to lose weight and get healthy. Some days will go better than others....weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint, after all!! But with the support of this team, and some hard work on our part, we can all make it to the finish line!
Have a great February, everyone!!3 -
Hello Team! I am Kinga from Transylvania, artist, and mother of three teenagers. For many years I have struggled to find balace in the physical aspect of my life, so that is really what I would like to achieve. To eat balaced, exercise enough but not too much, and to do all of this in a habitual and consistent manner. I also practice meditation and I would like to integrate my eating and exercise with meditation. So I will jump right in and wish all of you good luck to achieve your goals!6

Hello Big Butts!
Kay is the name and having a lesser Big Butt is the game! This will be my second month doing this challenge and I am really glad that I've joined. I lost 12.6lbs last month, which translated to a 5% overall weight loss! Having to check in with you fine folks has kept me accountable to myself and my team, which is exactly what I need. It gives me the opportunity to reflect on my day and make a plan on how I'm going to improve tomorrow.
I'm not hard on myself when I get off track, but I do expect myself to do better than I did yesterday. Making an entire lifestyle change does not happen over night. Sometimes it's one-half step forward at a time. Progress is progress!
My fitness goals for this month will be to lose 1.5lbs/week, hydrate, 20mins of cardio for a minimum of 4 days a week, strength training 3 times a week (I haven't logged these in the past but I may start), and continue to meal prep for the week (minus one cheat meal).
Now, LET'S MAKE FEB KISS OUR BIG BUTTS GOODBYE!7 -
Hi everyone!
My name is Kim, and this is my 3rd month doing the challenge, I appreciate you all keeping me accountable!
Looking forward to staying on track in Feb!6 -

Welcome, Kinga! You seem very eager to get started and that is wonderful!! However, February doesn't start officially until Sunday the 4th. Since Friday is your weigh-in day, your first weigh-in will be Friday, February 9th. Your starting weight is whatever you posted in the sign up thread. Just keep that enthusiasm up and you're going to do great!
What kind of art do you do?1 -
OK, thanks!1

Hi team... After getting through the Flu ... I have started to track my food again.... Hoping Monday to have a good lose for the team.
I am challenging myself to be done to 165 by my 50th birthday (April 2nd ) this year. I have admitted I need to track my food and I need to start working out. Starting to Walk on the treadmill tomorrow morning.. going to see how long I can walk for .. for my starting point..
Fingers crossed Monday will be a good weigh in day5 -
Hello Big Butts! I thought being on this team was appropriate for me...as I have a big butt! ;0)~
I'm a newbie to this challenge. I have only ever done one challenge with a friend before. I had a lot of success with that challenge, but fell off the wagon. I haven't been tracking my foods, so this will help me get back into the habit.
My starting weight is 185.0 lbs. as of yesterday, 2/1/18. I picked Thursdays as my weigh-in day because I thought the challenge was the calendar month, but since it doesn't start until Sunday, maybe I should change my weigh-in days to Sunday? My OCD would appreciate that change if it's possible since we haven't technically started? I could weigh-in again on Sunday and that could be my starting weight? Not sure what's best, so any advice is welcome.
My goal weight is between 135 lbs. and 145 lbs. I'm not really sure where I will be happy, so I'm leaving my goal weight up to my mental health and not a number on the scale. I would love to reach whatever goal weight before my 40th birthday May 29th, so I need to lose around 2.5 pounds a week to get there. Some weeks I will exceed that and some weeks I will gain the previous weeks weight loss back. My body doesn't like to cooperate, so I am just going to swing for the fence and command my body to listen. If I can get at least halfway there, I will be happy.
Can't wait to get to know everyone!3 -
Hello team!
My name is Holly. I’m a mother of four kids aged 4 months to 7 years old. I stay at home with them, I homeschool, and I also teach a few fitness classes a week (cardio, strength, and yoga). I live in New Mexico (USA )
I joined this challenge in January for help with getting off the baby weight (always a lot of work) and I am enjoying the support and accountability. I find that tracking my food and exercise is the absolute most effective way for me to lose weight. I have tried other types of diets that restrict certain foods or food groups and that is just not sustainable for me for the long term. This is! I have 10-15 pounds left to be at my goal weight and then I plan to maintain it with MFP.
Great to get to know all of you!7 -
Hi team!
My name is Amie, I have 3 kids, 9, 7 and 2. I've been almost to goal weight after every pregnancy but never quite made it. Since being back at work after my last child I have put on all the weight I had lost. I'm finding it hard to make time for myself since we are so busy with activities all the time. I have had to put my middle child on an elimination diet due to food intolerances so I am doing it with her in solidarity. No gluten, egg or dairy and a few other things for 6 weeks. This is week 2 and I've lost 4.4 lbs. I just need to add in exercise now! I'm looking forward to participating in this challenge!! Starting weight this week is 208.2...goal weight 158. That's a long way to go.8 -

Welcome Marie! And we all have butts a little bigger than we would like....that's why we are here!!
Your starting weight for this challenge is whatever you posted in the February sign up thread. If you changed your weigh-in to Sunday, you would weigh-in tomorrow and that would be the end of week #1 for you, so I would suggest keeping it at Thursday.2 -

Welcome, Amie, and it's always just one pound at time!! Try breaking it up into smaller goals in your mind....for instance, your first goal could be Onederland!1 -
@jackinorrie, did you get my PM? I am only asking because sometimes they don't get delivered and I also have messages out to some of those who still need to post a weight and they haven't been read, according to my computer.0

Good morning, team. The February challenge officially starts tomorrow. Within the main weight loss challenge we have another optional, but highly recommended, challenge. It is called the Mini Ultimate Accountability Challenge, or the Mini Challenge. It is based on another MFP challenge group by the same name, or UAC.
The way it works is simple:
1. Log everything you eat that has calories in MFP.
2. Stay inside your allotted daily calorie budget.
3. Do at least 20 minutes of activity daily. This could be anything that gets you off the couch and being active: run, walk, cycle, swim, gardening, housework, yoga, gym, etc.
4. Report each day on this thread (something to the effect of logged food: yes, under calories: yes, exercise: yes, and a brief description is nice)
You get one free pass day a week (went over calories, could not log food, rest day, etc.) At the end of the week, if you have managed to be "accountable" for at least 6 of 7 days, you will be recognized on this thread as being in the Winner's Circle!
This strategy works for weight loss because it is based on CI<CO. When calories in are less than calories out, you stay inside your allotted daily calorie budget, and you will lose weight! And exercise is just good for you, plus it will burn calories and help with the calories out portion of the equation!
What's great about this challenge is that it works for everyone, as long as you are honest with yourself. There are no dietary restrictions, so you can eat whatever you like, and follow whatever plan you like. Your own daily calorie budget is set by you and MFP and you choose your own exercise and intensity of exercise! Plus it is a practice that can be carried beyond weight loss into maintenance! If you are having a bad week, a new week and a fresh start is just around the corner!
Consistency and new habits have been shown to be the keys to long term successful weight loss. Why not make the Mini Ultimate Accountability Challenge your new habit, that you do consistently!!
Week #1 for the Mini Challenge starts tomorrow, Sunday, February 4th!!1 -
@my3boys424 and @RinsenRepeat, your weigh-in days have been changed to Saturday for this month, as per your requests.0

Hi all. My name is Bianca. Mommy of a 2 year old. Been overweight my entire life. I managed to nearly reach my goal weight of 80kg before I had my son. With my pregnancy this spiraled out of control and out of reach. I always used the excuse of being a mommy for not being able to lose the weight after pregnancy. The past Dec I felt miserable, so uncomfortable in my own skin. I was fed up and knew with the new year ahead I had 12 new chapters to complete.....new choices to be made. And I wanted my choices to be healthy and fight this battle no matter how many times I fall or how hard it may seem at times. I officially started this journey on 7 Jan weighing my heaviest ever at 117kg. I have been doing Keto and it seems to be working well. I have lost 4kg in total and quite a bit of cms. Only started working out about 2 weeks ago every second day 30 min walk/jogs. Yesterday I fell off the wagon for the first time since starting this journey and that's when I decided an accountability team will be the best for keeping me on track. Thank you for letting me join. Won't let myself down anymore.....nor will I let you guys down x B5

Feb Week 1
Weigh-in day: Sunday
Previous Week's weight: 235.4
Today's Weight: 233.6
I am the only foolish soul to weigh-in on Sunday lol. I will try to post losses for our team to get the week started off right!7 -
Yes, indeed, congratulations are in order!!
January Week #5, Team TBBT lost 19.4 pounds, for a 0.43% loss. It was good enough for 3rd place, 0.10% behind the leader. Overall, @katevt78 came 2nd, losing 2.28%!! Rounding out the top 3 for TBBT was @holly2e losing 1.63% and @RinsenRepeat losing 1.46%!
Overall for January, Team TBBT lost 125.1 pounds, for a 2.08% loss. That put us in 2nd place, only 0.03% behind the leader!! Well done team!!
Now for the individual standouts, which we had many!! The top three winners for January were all from TBBT!! In 1st place was @RinsenRepeat, in 2nd place was @katevt78 and in 3rd place was @Tracie_Lord!! Congratulations, ladies!!
We had many, many team mates lose over 2% of their body weigh last month:
@RinsenRepeat, 8.03%
@katevt78, 7.95%
@Tracie_Lord, 7.38%
@bizgirl26, 6.98%
@lawyerette, 6.10%
@holly2e, 5.85%
@karynclarke, 5.66%
@primekayprime, 5.08%
@motheroftwins95, 4.55%
@FitLifeCrossroads, 3.56%
@mari_moulin, 3.34%
@Coheednkimbria, 2.73%
Again, well done everyone!! Let's see if we can't make up that 0.03% this month and take top spot!!9
