Miranda I totally agree with stress. It does something to our bodies, since I have started this WOE I can really tell it is true. Hopefully things will settle down for you and hopefully the scale will be your happy place real soon! Keep it up!!!0

Back down to 169.4 today. We're in the grips of another snow storm here. Work closed, so me and the dog and the boyfriend have been stuck in the house all day. I did snack a little bit. Being home is always harder for me than being at work. But we had steak and mashed potatoes and mushrooms for dinner that was really good. There was supposed to be roasted onions on top but I burned them, but not a big loss there. Still under my calories for today, even with the cheese puff snack. I might have some peanut butter if the stomach starts gnawing.
I finally, finally, no longer feel constipated, and I'm actually a little excited to see what the scale says tomorrow.2 -
How did I completely miss this thread????
Hi, Miranda! Good luck on tomorrow's weigh-in. I bet you are so relieved to not feel all clogged up. I dealt with that for most of my life and have just become regular in the past couple months and feel like a whole new person!0 -
Snow, snow go away!!! Glad your constipation is better0
-
Sounds like a delicious dinner.0

Hi Miranda,
Oh man I totally agree being home during the day (weekends not so much) is way worse than work for me. I had a little adventure MOnday with a box of cheese nips. I swear I couldn't stop myself. It was horrible. My weigh in is tomorrow so we shall see.
You are doing great! Glad things are moving along0 -
Sending positive vibes for today's weigh in..you got this!0

Oklahoma missed out on snow this year sadly. It actually has been 3 solid years of no accumulation in north eastern region of the state. I am a big fan of snow ever so often.0

We hadn't gotten much snow the last couple of years, but have been slammed with 3 nor'easters the last 2.5 weeks. But at least our power didn't go out this time, and it's actually warm and sunny out today so maybe it'll all start melting. I do enjoy snow, but more in January and February and not March. I work for a University, and we were closed yesterday due to the snow and had a 4 hour delay today while they cleaned up campus. I didn't know what to do with myself! The dog was very confused.
Weigh in today, and exactly the same weight I was yesterday. So not that exciting on that front. BUT out of curiosity I remeasured my waist, and it's gone down a quarter of an inch in 2 weeks. So I'll call that a win anyway. I know my eating has been good calorie wise, with more healthy and whole foods to balance out the junk. So I'm just waiting for that woosh when it all catches up to me.
This week is restaurant week in this little river side town near us. And due to the snow, tonight was the only night we can go, and I'm really excited. There's a very good Creole restaurant built in an old church, and the food is amazing. I've already planned it out (mostly), since they have a Prix fix menu. Bacon or stuffed oysters, salad or gumbo, entree, and desert. I'm torn between what they call eggplant Ophelia, which is like eggplant lasagna with shrimp and crab, or the crab cakes. They also have jambalaya and beef filets. If you can't tell, I'm really excited. Haven't been to this place since the summer.2 -
Awesome NSV, Miranda! A quarter of an inch is fantastic. IF really works wonders for body composition.
That Creole menu sounds AMAZING! I'm so jealous! Post pics if you can steal some while chowing down0 -
Wow the loss in inches is fantastic. And wow the Creole place, my mouth is watering with all the food you described. Enjoy and yes if you can take some food porn pictures do it0
-
Miranda, you are doing so well! Looking forward to food pics (as always, haha).0

Non scale victories are just as good as scale victories...Enjoy your meal tonight0

I love creole!0

Congrats on those inches. Good for you! I just said to myself this morning that I need to take my measurements. Seeing this made me commit to doing it tonight.

I failed you guys. Devoured the food too quickly for pictures. Even splurged with a cocktail. It was the first alcohol I've had in about 5 weeks, though I've never really been a big drinker. It was my boyfriend and I and two of our female friends. Was definitely a nice night to relax and eat. I'm also a little proud of myself because I stopped eating my dessert when I was full. Jason out the other half of it, so it didn't go to waste.
I guess all of that tasty food was what my body wanted, because despite the water retention (I can feel it in my eyelids) I am back down to 168.8. So I am definitely going in the right direction, and brings me to 14 pounds lost.
Tonight my boyfriend decided he wanted saladworks for dinner. So I'm going to have a cobb salad with a whole wheat roll, and I think a large broccoli cheddar soup.1 -

Definitely take measurements! When I'm feeling a little down about the scale, it helps me see there are other changes going on with my body for the good.0 -
Congrats on the 14 pounds! That's awesome!
And your salad and soup sounds delicious, too0 -
Yay for the loss and enjoy your meal tonight0
-
The 14lb loss so far is amazing!!!! Way to go!0

14 pounds is remarkable! You're doing so great.0

Congrats Miranda! KUTGW....0

I miss New Orleans sooo much. Oh, the smells... And the tastes. I am such a sucker for beignets and etoufee. I am going to bed hungry tonight. (Not really, but still...)0
-
@bandwithbandit if you are ever in Nashville and have time for a drive a few minutes away north of Nashville you have to try the Lost Cajun. OMG it is amazing and the beignets are to die for. It is the closest thing to New Orleans I have ever found.

Hey guys! So we wrapped a very successful show last week. I stage managed a production of Jesus Christ Superstar at a local theater. We had 1 sold out house and 3 nearly sold out. I wasn't as strict with OMAD for the week with running around like crazy. But I wasn't too bad either. The scale is still fluctuating a lot (I know I'm eating way too much sodium). But it's fluctuating in a downward trend. I've been fighting an awful cold since we started our show run, which made me want to eat everything. But I'm getting better so hopefully that's out of my system soon.
We had tilapia fillets with a chile lime sauce and roasted sweet potatoes and edamame last night (home chef for the win), and I also ate some cheese puffs. But I killed the bag so they are no longer in the house.
Tonight is trivia. I'll see how I'm feeling when we get there, but maybe soup and a flatbread, a salad, or their steak.
Sorry I've been kind of spotty on the boards. You guys continue to be amazing!0 -
Glad your show was successful! I hope you feel better soon.0

Glad your show was a hit! Good luck on trivia and with the next weigh in .

Congratulations on the success of your show.0

Apparently Wednesdays are my check in day. I might need to come to grips with the fact that I'm not good at daily posting.
Anyway, scale was back down to 168.0 this morning, which makes a total of 15 pounds lost! It might be moving slowly, but it's moving. I also did a waist measurement this morning, and I'm down another half inch, which means I've lost a total of 1.5 inches from my waist. I need to do a full set of measurements, which I've been slacking on. But I definitely have more definition in my legs since I've been doing squats. I also walk for a half hour on my lunch break at work, since I'm not eating food.
Had Parisian Bistro steak with green beans and dalphinoise potatoes last night (another home chef). Was very good, and got me back on track from a less than stellar weekend. Planning what I'll eat at trivia tonight now.
Happy Wednesday, everyone!0 -
Congrats on 15 pounds and 1.5 inches down!!!0
