@CerysDub Welcome!! Nice to have another lifter on the team! I found a personal trainer at 30 and she changed my life. I'm training for an Olympic style weight lifting competition myself (I like it a bit more than just power lifting), and right now, I'm trying to drop a bit more weight before I enter the competition, but soon I will get there.
You have a great goal and please let us know if we can help you get there in any way we can! Welcome!!

@AB0215 I'm actually interested in training in the olympic lifts, I did a little when I was on holiday and loved it. I kinda fell into powerlifting which I love but I want something a little less specialist now. For my first comp I was no where near the weight category I wanted to compete in, but I just treated it like a practice comp, went to one a little further away and it was the best thing I did. With the pressure a little off I enjoyed it so much more, and I made so many friends who were all super supportive! So I would definitely just get out there and give it a go rather than waiting to be perfect! Best of luck!!

Calories : under (despite husband trying to tempt me to eat KFC)
Exercise: yes - went out twice with the baby in the sling for long walks

Was a fab day! Started with a great weigh in which left me super motivated and made me want to get out and move more than normal and stopped me snacking on the husband's KFC - which was totally a win! Willpower of a god!

50 mins on Stationary Bike at moderate effort.

MFP exercise data says I burned 740 calories. My Stationary Bike says 500. I honestly don't know.

What started out as a great day for me ended up being a not so good day. Even though it was day one, I felt that I had no self control, which ultimately led me to eat more. I had planned on going for a walk to help negate some calories, but it was raining. Overall, just not a good day or start to the challenge for me.

@BEASTFIELD314, I don't know how many times I have began a new diet or challenge only to mess up day one. I totally get how frustrating that is! I think we do it subconsciously because we don't like the idea of depriving ourselves and we forget that getting fit and healthy is not deprivation but rewarding and what we deserve. So don't think of today as a do over of day one but think of it as a day where you are going to rock your plan because you are worth it! You got this!! :)

@CerysDub I actually am not really trying to be perfect, I just also want to work on my Snatches a bit more too before I go into one, that's my weaker lift and it's mostly because it's newer to me, I just learned it 8 months ago so I still need a bit of technique work and mobility work for the bottom of the snatch and then I'll feel ready.

Phew, I just did 3 miles in 36 mins. I haven’t run in FOREVER, so I’m pretty proud of myself. Great way to start this challenge off

@jcgator2016 I find that machines and MFP tend to be somewhat inaccurate when it comes to calorie burn, and really anything, mostly because it's always an estimate. I tend to use my fitbit as that uses my heart rate and I imagine is probably the most accurate as it's the best judge of the intensity, but honestly, if you don't do that, I would probably go with a more conservative estimate for your own purposes...

@BEASTFIELD314 Don't be too hard on yourself, today is one day and you just have to dust yourself off and do better next time.

Started out great and ended great. Got a little walk in at the end of the day. I am pretty sure my first weigh in will be less - I always lose a bunch of water weight in the beginning. I have started getting up earlier - 5am. Going to try to get my walks in early. Not sure how that will work, but we will give it a go. How was everyone's day today???
