Day 13 Step class today and I was able to complete the whole class without having to stop for any of my own mini breaks! I can tell my endurance is getting much better.
No class today so I went on a bike ride. I did the same route as I did on Wed and I cut 8 minutes off my time and I only had to get off and push my bike up hill 1 time instead of the 3 I had to do last time. There are 4 steep up hill climbs and I long steepish climb. I feel so accomplished as I was really fighting myself to go this morning after a long afternoon moving sprinkler pipe on the farm yesterday.

Good for you! I'm not only happy for you, but I feel so proud of you for your dedication! This gives me hope that with little steps, I can get there too someday!

Thank you so much! And yes you can do it too!

This morning I feel much better mentally. I broke a sweat while exercising and started ( as suggested here) with some gratitude. So far so good. I am taking L Theanine which is a supplement to improve the mood and it does make me more calm. Yesterday I was in complete control of my emotions during a situation in my home so I am giving myself credit for that.

Sounds like your week is starting off well. Exercise and gratitude are great ways to start the day, week, the rest of your life. Hugs! <3

My apologies for being absent. I have a lot going on my groups are have taken a back seat. I am sleeping so much better and averaging almost 7.5 hours each night.

My mediation practice is lovely. After my morning yoga I sit in mediation for a few minutes. I do the same in evening. I am using an app called Down Dog that finishes with mediation too. I often fall asleep listening to my Calm app bedtime stories. I believe the mediation is the reason I am sleeping better. With the cooler temps I hope to sleep even better.

I quit wearing my FitBit to bed. I found that I would check it for the time and other data in the middle of the night.

Listened to the Calm app bedtime story last night. Was very relaxing and I fell asleep after the first few paragraphs!

Day 16 of classes done. Hiit class today. I really pushed myself today and even did some heavier weights for some of the strength parts.

So happy you have found what works!!! Good to know about taking off Fitbit. I had to do the same with Garmin.

@77tes thank you. Today started stressfull. I cried, let it all out and now I feel better.

@PinkyPan1, I am so happy to hear that you are sleeping better. And I so agree -- some data is a good thing, but too much data is not helpful!

    Hi all,
I’m sorry I’ve been absent. Long story short I went for a long hike on Sunday and fell on a very hard packed mountain bike trail, and it up breaking the top of my upper arm bone where it meets the ball of the shoulder socket. I saw the ortho specialist today and he said it was really my choice whether to do surgery or just use the sling but after I looked at the x-rays and saw that the ice cream scoop was half off the bone and after he told me there was a better chance at the bone would heal and that there was a better chance it would have more range of motion and strength, I am choosing the surgery. Because he’s going out of town and only does surgery two days week, I am going to be scheduled for next Thursday.

But what I wanted to share with this group is how all the things that we practice in this group carried me through walking to the car for 90 minutes with a broken arm. How they helped me continue to enjoy the beautiful nature around me for those 90 minutes. How they helped me breathe deeply and stay relaxed especially my arm muscle so that the pain was minimal. How I handled myself in emergency room for eight hours receiving many compliments for my patience and kindness. I didn’t get ahead of myself with negative thoughts about what could happen what could be wrong with the arm I just focused on the moment. I had a beautiful time on this hike that I have wanted to take for 10- years but was never in good enough shape to do it.

Because I’ve lost weight and been exercising regularly for over a year now, I am in good shape for the surgery and I know I will recover faster & probably better than I would’ve when I was overweight.

The break is on my right arm and I am right-handed so I can’t do much drawing or artwork or many other things I like to do although I did do some decluttering LOL with my left hand today which was pretty fun. But I’m thinking of doing some drawing with my left hand and see what happens!!!

I likely won’t be typing on here as much I’m using the voice right now but I’m trying to spare the arm as much as possible before the surgery. I believe the recovery will be fairly rapid he says I’ll be able to use the arm shortly after the surgery. If I used the sling it could be months before I could use it.

I also want to share with all of you that share my decluttering passion, that having the house organized really helped my husband do things for me the last couple of days. It was easy to tell him where something was that normally I would get we had our food system down he knew what I had for breakfast It just made everything simpler to be able to locate things and have a pleasant space around us. So for all of you in the throes of that, just know that it just gets better and better and better just like the losing weight does ...know when you get close to your goal weight you start feeling really good and you can handle things life throws at you like an instantaneous slip on a hard piece of trail.

I love you all and I admire your courage as we tackle our precious lives. 💞

Oh my goodness sweetie! I am so very sorry to hear you’ve been injured! I am a prayer warrior so I will be asking for a successful surgery and quick uneventful surgery. I couldn’t have been as brave as you, I just know it. I am sending you gentle cyber hugs...can you feel them? ❤️

I slept horribly last night but I still made it up in time for my 5:15 class. I am so sore from yesterday but felt better moving around and using the sore muscles.

@MadisonMolly2017 , I'm so sorry to hear about the broken arm! WOW! Having to walk 90 minutes with that break must have been quite the ordeal. I'm glad that all your healthy practices have worked in your favor and made things easier. Drawing with your left hand sounds interesting. You could also try things like exploring collage while your right arm is healing. I too will be praying for a good result from your surgery and a speedy recovery. Take care.
