HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! Also welcome to everyone who is thinking OMG: I sooooooo need to loose some weight! That's me for sure to name but one!
You can post your weight here and also in the Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet which Nikki has updated.
For anyone new out there; feel very welcome to join, we usually post our weigh Sundays and use the 'Keto Monthly Challenge Spreadsheet' also in 'Announcements' to track weight.
We use this thread to encourage each other and to add our weight as well if we want to and generally chat!
It's fun and it's been working and we've lost a shed load of weight between us. It seems to keep us going and even if we go up occasionally (and who doesn't!) we get back to it and continue the journey.
So here we go and welcome to the shiny New Year full of good intentions!
Tuesday 01/01. for those who want to start the New Year!
Sunday 01/06
Sunday 01/13
Sunday 01/20
Sunday 01/27
Thursday 01/31. for those who want to finish the month!
AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL........................2019 who can believe it!!
Good luck to everyone, welcome to everyone new and well done the old faithfuls!!

@chinatowninchina Thanks for leaving this group open for others to join. I am new to Keto and plan to start on Jan 1st officially but I have been experimenting with it and intermittent fasting now. I'm trying to see during which hours. I feel fine and not thinking of food. I am also noticing when I feel truly hungry. I just need help along the way for someone who has been doing this for a while. I will be eating very mono but changing the meal each week as not to become bored. I am also wanting to start and do extreme keto as stated by Dr. Berg on YouTube. Sorry if I'm ranting on but thanks.youtu.be/mlJRSebJ0XA1

Hello everyone. I started Keto on Dec 1. I would love to get some new ideas and recipes to move forward. Looking forward to being a part of this group.0

Hi all, my husband, the turd, lost 50 lbs doing keto and intermittent fasting so I started a few days ago. Surprisingly, I can't believe how not hungry I am.
Question. The last two days when I was legitimately hungry, I went straight to nauseous. Is that keto flu? Or normal?3 -
Hi all, I am brand new and plan on starting Keto on New Year’s Day. I would love to join the group!1

I’m in on this. This will help me stick to my goal. I am on pace to make my December goal happen. I am going to lower my goal for January to a 5 lb loss from what ever my lowest logged weight is in the last week.0

Please don't allow yourself to get hungry, you shouldn't with keto so if you are getting hungry: eat! Also keep your salt intake up, there is no need for keto flu it's just lack of salts for most if not all people. Good luck and welcome!3 -
welcome to all and for info and recipes and weekly plans check out the diet doctor site along with others of course but he's sensible and the recipes are great and it's free unless you want to join even then it's not expensive and it's easy to cancel. I also like Tuit nutrition as I find her very down to earth and very amusing too! Good luck to all6

Hi China! Oh yes I'm usually not hungry at all, tbh, but the first two days while the carbs and sugar were raging in protest I did find we were out and I missed dinner, and on the way back home I was suddenly nauseous like crazy. I haven't been nauseous since.0 -
Looking forward to 2019! Last year I found out about a crazy idea of eating fat to regain my physical and mental health. It worked! In the first 6 months I lost 45 pounds, got my brain back and felt better than I had for years. In fact, I felt so good I dislocated my shoulder playing too hard for my age of 68.
I used my injury as an excuse to jump on and off the keto wagon for the last 6 months of the year. Even my halfhearted attempt at keto kept me heathier and happier than I had been for years. I’m still about 20 pounds better off than I was last New Year.
More important, I’ve made it through the eating season and I’m ready to reset my keto discipline starting tomorrow. Happy New Year to all my keto/MFP friends. I thank you all for the advice, encouragement and support that made 2018 a keto success for me. Let’s make 2019 the best keto year ever. I our monthly challenge group.

December was a hot mess for me. I'm not going to dwell on the scale, but on the fact that I enjoyed the holidays with family & friends. Despite packing on the lbs, I am still here and getting ready (mentally) to do the work to get back on track. I am looking forward to having the best month I've had on a long time.
2018 was a year of many blessings for me, and I'm looking forward to what 2019 has in store. Happy New Year everyone!7 -
I’m in for the January challenge! I started Keto on 12/27 and can’t believe how “not hungry” I am. I started intermittent fasting a couple of weeks ago with 16/8. Having a hard time hitting the 75% fats macro though. Please add me. Thank you2

If you're new to keto; track, measure, and stick with it. It becomes so easy, and is great once fat adapted. Remember, fat is a limit, protein is a goal, and carbs are a thing you want to limit to get into ketosis, and keep them around 20g net. Carbs - fiber = Net Carbs. Sugar Alcohols are also a thing, but the basic is C-F=NC.

Good luck, and make sure you stay properly hydrated! Broths, stocks, ketorade, powerade zeros, etc. It'll make keto flu much better to handle. That salt loss can hit hard 2-3 days in otherwise.1 -
Sending best wishes and prayers to all in 2019!

Happy New Year, Keto friends! Looking forward to 2019 f and the continuation of the Keto lifestyle I started in March 2018. We had 23 friends stay with us over the course of 2018. While I feel very lucky and honored to have people I love visit me and my family, it does present a bit of a disruption. I've been eating and drinking whatever I want since Thanksgiving but I've managed to keep my weight loss - I don't know how!
This year is about getting my blood pressure under control. I'll be eating clean Keto, consuming plant-based fats over animal fat, and making exercise a priority. I'm not sure I will attempt to log my food every day - it takes a surprising amount of time. But, if you are just starting Keto I highly recommend you log your food for at least 2 months.
My daughter starts school this week @ 3 days a week. I'm planning on doing OMAD (one meal a day) on two of those days. My tenets this year are: Hydration, Vegetables, Fish, Exercise, Marriage, & Focused Play.
