- - INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGES (Challenges within teams themselves)

This Month’s Weekly Team Challenges provided by: (Team captains, please be ready with each weeks challenge...)
Week 1 – Team SHRINKING ASSETS
Week 2 - Team WORKOUT WARRIORS
Week 3 - Team MISSION SLIMPOSSIBLES
Week 4 - Team TRIMSTONES

(Note:The team order for challenges follows the team order in the group standing sheet on the spreadsheets)

HOW OUR CHALLENGES WORK:
We have 3 total possible challenges and NONE are mandatory. Our challengers can do none or all it's up to them. So we have...

The F2F Weekly TEAM Challenge - posted each week on Sunday in the announcements by the team who is assigned that particular week (see above for your week). This is for the F2F Group as a whole.

F2F Moderators Challenge/Topic of the week - This challenge is provided each week in the announcements area. One of the moderators will either provide a challenge that will involve anything fitness, health, and nutrition.

Individual Team challenges - these are challenge done within your own team. You can chose daily, weekly, or monthly challenges (weekly seems to work best). You can make this whatever you wish as long as it's health and fitness related.

Note: If for some reason your team is unable to provide the weekly challenge please let me know ahead of time so another team can take your place or so I can provide the challenge.

Good Luck Teams: Please let us know if there is anything wrong or if you notice something that needs to be fixed or modified. Everything seems ready to go for FEBRUARY. Registrations are almost done and we have quite a few new challengers. Make sure you are going into your new team threads to welcome anyone who has started posting. Let’s make our newbies feel welcome and show them some F2F love!!
THANKS YOUR MODS

    HELLO WARRIORS!

I am Steve ( aka Steplaj ) and in addition to being the group owner and a moderator, I am also one of your team captains... Most of you already know me, but for those that do not, I will give you a brief description...

I am 53y old and live in South Central Massachusetts. I am married ( for 29 years ) and have a fantastic 13y old son who is my world. I am currently working for the lab at a level-1 trauma center here in Mass., but have been a Paramedic for the better part of 30 years and was a former part-time Police Officer for a town here in MA. This being said, my career has been hard and taken its toll on my bones and joints.

I am currently (roughly) 295 pounds. My fitness plan is mostly calorie counting and reduced sodium/sugar - increased protein. I have gotten my weight down to about 255 at one point, but like so many of us, a few career changes, a bit of stress, and the yo-yo reversed and I climbed back up. My heaviest was at about 320.

I was the original team captain of Workout Warriors along with Casey ( @quiarga ) and later Greg. I pulled back when I became the group owner because being owner, I felt I am kind of on every team - but my heart is still a Warrior and so I have remained on our team, but backed away as captain making way to Beka3695. She is now moving on to a new team and so I wanted to reconnect with all of you and so I told Greg I would step up again and reclaim my title as a Team Captain of Workout Warriors.

I will tell you more later, but I will add before I say goodnight - like Greg, I love German Shepherds. I recently got a new pup (which many of you have seen) and she is learning to be my Truck Mate and Inspiration.

    237zgutexu6m.jpg

With Becky now leading a new team (and a few ringers on that team from ours), we are going to have to work extra hard to stay on top. Let's keep the communication flowing, chat often, work hard together, and help each other out - this being done, I know we will continue to be the team to beat...

on a final note: GO PATS!
    fexlfw2dgeoe.jpg
    SOON TO BE SIX!

Can't wait to get this month going - GO WARRIORS!

HERE IS AN UPDATE ON THE STEP CHALLENGE

    STEP CHALLENGE CHANGE FOR FEBRUARY

We will be asking the Captains for a little more assistance this month. First of all - it is completely overwhelming for one person to do the step challenge.... So, Mari and I will be sharing the love.

There will not be separate steps thread this month. We will be asking steppers to post within their threads and captains post the steps to the spreadsheet. Talk with your captain counterparts and divvy up the duties the best you can. Mods will tally on Sunday or Monday for the weekly posting.

Secondly, We will be cutting the steppers from 12 to 10 challengers. Frankly, each team has 1 or 2 that doesn't even post - so this should not be difficult.

    THANKS TO @MARI AND @Beka3695
FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD AND TIME CONSUMING WORK YOU DID IN MY ABSENCE.

I AM TRYING TO GET MY HEALTH BACK IN ORDER AND BETWEEN TESTS AND APPOINTMENT IT WAS A STRUGGLE FOR ME KEEP UP WITH IT ALL. I WAS ASKED TO STEP BACK THIS MONTH FOR THE REGISTRATION PROCESS WHILE MY BODY, MY DOC'S AND I FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG.

TESTING IS DONE RESULTS ARE IN...... SOME GOOD SOME NOT SO GOOD....REFERRALS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE APPROPRIATE SPECIALISTS SO THAT'S WHERE WE ARE AS OF NOW.

I WILL STILL WILL HANDLE THE WARRIORS ALONG WITH STEVE. THAT'S NOT A BIG THING AND I SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE THAT NO PROBLEM.

I AM A WARRIOR AND A NAVY MAN AND I WILL NOT GIVE UP. IT'S NOT IN A WARRIORS DNA OR VOCABULARY TO QUIT OR THROW IN THE TOWEL OR ANYTHING ELSE OF THAT NATURE. I WILL FIGHT THIS WITH THE INTENSITY I FOUGHT WITH BACK ION THE DAY.

IN CLOSING THANK YOU ALL FROM BOTH MARCIE AND MYSELF FOR THE WELL WISHES AND CONTINUED SUPPORT.
    GREG, MARCIE AND SHADOW X-117

Hi! I'm new here. My name is Erin, I'm 43 and live in Minneapolis, MN. Yes it is bitter cold! I've been married 17 years and have 4 kids ranging in age from 7-16. I don't have a ton of weight to lose but I'm finding these last 5-10 pounds to be difficult. I did some serious emotional eating last spring/summer and gained an extra 5+ pounds. I'm pretty good about exercising but I overeat a lot, especially in the afternoons. So I'm hoping being part of a group will help keep me on track!

I'd love to be part of the step challenge if you need people - I tend to get a pretty good amount of steps most days. I'm normally a runner although right now I'm nursing a sore hip and hamstring so doing more cross training but hopefully will get back to running more soon.

Hello all, I am new here. My name is Kai I’m 44 years old, I’m a mom of three and I’ve been with my very supportive husband for 14 years. I’ve been overweight since middle school and recently hit my highest weight ever. A few years ago I was diagnosed with MS and packed on a lot of weight from emotional eating. After having some trouble getting out of bed during a recent flare I realized I was on my way to getting bed bound and making life very difficult for my family. Since then I’ve gotten very serious about losing the weight. I don’t view the changes as a diet, but rather a whole lifestyle change. I learned long ago that saying I am dieting is easy, making real changes for life is what’s hard. I look forward to getting healthier with everyone and tossing in my life wisdom from many yo yo diets.

Hi Erin, Welcome to Workout Warriors!

I know Greg will be along shortly to say hello in his own fashion. Until then, you can absolutely be on the step challenge - I have already added your name to the list. Please try to post your steps daily. In fact, we love it when people share all sorts of stuff such as their meal preps, daily activities, nsv's, even your failures. This is a no-judgement zone, we are all like a family here, working together to help us all improve on ourselves. So please, feel free to post often.

Glad to have you, let's hope February proves to be an awesome month for all of us.

    Steve

Hi Kai! Welcome to Workout Warriors. It is awesome that you have a supportive husband, that is so helpful when working to stay on a fitness plan. If he would like to join you, please let me know and we can get him added to the team. I am sorry to hear about your MS. My mom had MS and I know it can be quite difficult. Here in the Warriors family, none of us like to refer to our diets as diets - you are absolutely right, it is a lifestyle change, with a common goal we all share, to improve ourselves. Best help I can offer you right now is to say, stay active and post often in the team thread. You will find we have a great group of people in here who will be very encouraging and motivating. Accountability is half the battle, the other half is having others to help you along your journey. We have both those covered here in the Workout Warriors. Look forward to making that journey with you...

    Steve

Hello, my name is Amanda I'm 35 I have two kids an 11 year old daughter and 7 year old son. I have been happily married to my husband for almost 12 years. I was always a little over weight growing up, and then a few years after having my daughter I hit my highest weight ever. I had tried multiple time to lose weight and I would do good for a little while but then after a month or so I'd give up. Always made the excuses for everything. I finally decided I needed to become healthy not just for myself but also my family. My kids are not over weight but their eating habits could be better. I finally went and talked to a weight loss specialist and after a 2 hour appointment I felt ready to concur my struggles! He didn't just tell me "you need to diet and exercise", he tested my blood for everything you could thing of and went through my family history. I have PCOS which affects my hormones and messes with my weight. But that isn't an excuse it can be managed and he was helping me figure out how. He was brutally honest with me which helped even more, my family has a history of heart disease (all 4 of my grandparents have had heart attacks, 1 had a stroke, 2 had open heart surgery). He said with my history if I didn't change my ways I was at a 92% chance of having a heart attack when I get older, talk about a wake up call. I have lost about 44 pounds (it was 48 but gained a few recently) and he said I could maybe lose at most 100 more (depending on my BMI). My whole family has changed the way we eat and that has been what had helped me the most. My son is still eating some stuff we don't but, he is autistic (mostly non verbal)and has texture issues with LOTS of foods. But he is starting to try more new things so we are getting there! I have my days where I struggle but I try to get back and keep going. Now my biggest struggle will be having the 4,900 boxes of girl scout cookies in my garage I just ordered for my daughter's troop😯😂🤣

Hey everyone! I'm Casey. 34 years old, married with two kids (11 and 8), and a dog weighs more than I do! I've been on MFP for almost 8 years, but I'm not entirely sure when I joined this group. In the past year, I've lost just over 40 lbs, and I'm about 5 lbs from my goal weight now. Pretty soon, I'll be just in maintenance. I'm also about to start a brand new career, going back to work full time since I've had my kids! It's scary and exciting at the same time. My favorite hobbies include reading, crocheting, and photography. I absolutely love this group, this team, and it's members! Without their support, I would not have made the progress I have in the last year (or even before that!). <3

And Casey, Greg is having surgery - can you step up as co-captain while he is out...? He is going to need a backup? I want my old partner back...

It will be you and I again - the team back together... How about it?

    Hello Everyone!

I'm Lonni, and I am from frigidly cold Minnesota. I have been with the Workout Warriors for a long time and took some time off to have a kid and came back. I am a 30 year old mother to 3 crazy children (2 boys and a girl) and 2 equally crazy cats. My youngest was born all of 9 months ago and I've only dropped 10 lbs since then which isn't motivating. I have lost significant amounts of weight multiple times in the past but never met my goal. I'm having trouble getting motivated and switching from being a stay at home mom to working full time is making it harder. My new job does have a workout room and I plan to utilize it as much as possible moving forward.

My hobbies include sewing, cooking, crocheting, playing video games, reading and being a toddler jungle gym.  :)

    Go Warriors!

GOOD MORNING/AFTERNOON/EVENING WHERE EVER YOU ARE

HERE'S THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE REAL UGLY AND NO IT'S NOT A CLINT EASTWOOD SPAGHETTI WESTERN.

GOOD....I LOST 14 POUNDS THIS MONTH AND FEBRUARY IS STARTING OFF REAL GOOD. SO I AM ON A ROLL AND I INTEND TO STAY THERE.

BAD....OSTOMY NURSE TOLD THAT I HAVE GRANULAR SKIN IRRITATIONS AROUND MY STOMA. IT CAUSE BY MOISTURE UNDER MY WAFER AND CAUSING A SKIN IRRITATION. THE CULPRIT IS MY LOSING WEIGHT, THE STOMA CHANGING SIZES AND MY GEAR NOT BEING THE RIGHT FIT ANYMORE. SO WE ARE GOING TO FIX ALL THAT WITH MY NEXT ORDER.

NOW THE REAL UGLY.....MY SINUSES ARE PACKED WITH CRAP AND THIS HAS CAUSED SOME PROBLEMS. THE ENT DOC WILL NOT ISSUE ANYMORE ANTIBIOTICS (NOT WORKING) AND NO STEROIDS BECAUSE OF THE OSTOMY. THEY AREN'T WORKING SO THE NEXT STEP IS SURGERY. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT NEXT THURSDAY WITH HIM AND WE WILL DISCUSS MY OPTIONS. I HAVE NO IDEA AS TO THE EXTENT OF THE SURGERY, BUT AS SOON AS I KNOW YOU'LL KNOW.

KNOW THIS I AM A NAVY MAN, A FIGHTER AND A WARRIOR I WILL GET THRU THIS AS I DID WITH MY OSTOMY SURGERY, ALL OF INJURIES FROM BACK IN THE DAY, THE INJURIES THAT CAUSED ME TO LEAVE BODY PARTS IN SOUTH VIETNAM.
I WILL COME OUT OF THIS ON TOP NO IF'S, ANDS OR BUTTS ABOUT IT. NOTHING BUT POSITIVE VIBES FROM YOU ALL....I HAVE TO DEAL WITH MARCIE AND HER GOING SIDEWAYS I DON'T NEED TO HAVE THE TEAM DOING THE SAME THING. SO PLEASE JUST POSITIVE VIBES OKAY..THANKS

    GREG OUT
