F2F-WLC CHALLENGES:
- - WEEKLY GROUP CHALLENGE (Challenges hosted by teams for the entire group)
- - MODERATOR'S CHALLENGE (Challenges hosted by the moderators of the group)
- - INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGES (Challenges within teams themselves)
Team Weekly challenges will be announced in later communications
(Note:The team order for challenges follows the team order in the group standing sheet on the spreadsheets)
HOW OUR CHALLENGES WORK:
We have 4 total possible challenges and NONE are mandatory. Our challengers can do none or all it's up to them. So we have...
The F2F Weekly TEAM Challenge - posted each week on Sunday in the announcements by the team who is assigned that particular week (see above for your week). This is for the F2F Group as a whole.
F2F Moderators Challenge/Topic of the week - This challenge is provided each week in the announcements area. One of the moderators will either provide a challenge that will involve anything fitness, health, and nutrition.
Individual Team challenges - these are challenge done within your own team. You can chose daily, weekly, or monthly challenges (weekly seems to work best). You can make this whatever you wish as long as it's health and fitness related.
Note: If for some reason your team is unable to provide the weekly challenge please let me know ahead of time so another team can take your place or so I can provide the challenge.
Good Luck Teams: Please let us know if there is anything wrong or if you notice something that needs to be fixed or modified. Everything seems ready to go for JUNE. Registrations are almost done and we have quite a few new challengers. Make sure you are going into your new team threads to welcome anyone who has started posting. Let’s make our newbies feel welcome and show them some F2F love!!
THANKS, YOUR MODS

Team Weight No More's Week One Challenge
I don't have time. I sit all day at the office. Excuses. That is all they are. If you want something bad enough you will figure out how to make it happen. I have learned that as long as I am moving, I am burning calories. It doesn't have to be a full 30 minutes. Even if you do just 5 minutes at a time it is better than 0 minutes. 5 minutes at a time thru out the day can add up to a really good workout. And likely the hardest part is just getting started. So come on.... Get up off that chair. Trust me, no one will care and you will definately not regret it.
I have includes some posters of office friendly exercises. Anyone can do them. So come on... Lets do one poster a day. Then, go to your team thread and tell them how you did. There is something for everyone. No excuses. Everyone has 5 minutes. Lets start making being active a habit, even if we have an sedentary job. And captains, hold your team accountable. Ask them everyday, what they are doing to be more active. Lets change our lifestyle one day, one pose at a time.
3 -
Not on your team ( I’m going to be a Slimpossible), but wanted to say that this is a FANTASTIC kick off. Thanks for the posters and the motivation!! Does anyone know if there’s a way to get a notification of new posts so that we don’t miss anything?
Thanks, Kate3 -
Welcome to our new members - and welcome back to returning members!!
I am Jen a Slimpossible captain along with captain Mark(@broncobuddee). Team leadership also includes our awesome motivators Terri (@tess5036) and @AustinRuadhain.
Here are some pointers to get our new team members started:
1) Weigh-ins
Moderators have already posted instructions on the weigh-ins but as a reminder on your weigh-in day please post your weight in the following format:
Username: (Your MFP username)
Weigh in week: (The week you are entering your weight for ex. Week 4)
Weigh in day: (The day you weigh in each week. Sat-Fri)
Previous Weight: (The last weight you entered)
Todays Weight: (Your weight on your chosen weigh in day)
2) Check-ins
Along with our weekly weigh ins, many team members also participate in daily check-ins. We recommend them as a way to stay accountable and provide the following information each day:
Calories: over/under?
Water: over/under?
Exercise:
Goals or Improvementsfor tomorrow:
3) Challenges
There are three each week and each is optional.
Team Challenge - this is something the team captains post. We’ve fallen behind a little on these challenges with so many other things happening in the challenge. If you have any suggestions for challenges please post here or send me a message.
Group Challenge - this is a challenge sponsored by one of the teams across the group. Look for it to be posted either in our team discussion pages or in the main group page.
Moderators Challenge - this is a challenge from one of the Moderators. Likewise, look for it to be posted within our team discussion pages or in the main group page.
Your participation is key!! Have a success today? Share it! A challenge? Share it! A question? Please ask! Some else is likely to benefit from your participation.
Finally, let's help welcome our new members with some introductions. Please share your name, where you live, how long you have been on MFP, and anything you want to share about your weight loss journey so far - successes, challenges, goals for the month.
I’ll go ahead with introduction - as mentioned earlier my name is Jen. I am 44 years old, married with two kids and work full time outside of the house. I live in Calgary, Alberta in Canada. Summer is finally here in Calgary!
I’ve been using MFP for a couple of years steady and been a part of this group for almost as long. I love this challenge group. I have learned so much about fat loss, good habits and heathy living from the people on here. Although my journey has been slow as well as up and down I have learned a lot about myself (and have a tonne of patience!!) I feel like I am rounding a corner and things are starting to change for the better. I am trying not to get too ahead of myself - day by day is my motto lately but we will see what July brings.
Well, everyone - cheers to a great month! Looking forward to sharing and learning with all of you!!0 -

Hurray to everyone on the Mission Slimpossibles team! As a group, we worked hard all month. And look -- we lost over 50 pounds in June. Wonderful! 🎉🎊
Special congratulations to @buniphuphu , @Katmary71 and @Jactop for their great results in June! 🏆
@ka97 , @Barbonica and @melissa2013m -- special congratulations on your great weigh-ins the last week! 👌🏽😎
Super delighted for everyone! SO many people on this team are working so hard, and making progress on health and fitness in SO many ways! 🚧😅💪🏽🏋️♂️🏃♀️4 -
I didn't get the chance to post last night.
Calories under
Exercise recumbent bike, walk, core exercises and stretching.
I'm frustrated as the scale's going up instead of down! My goal was to be 135 by the end of 6 months and I'm 135.8. So close yet so far, grr! Yesterday I had a bunch of temptations and stayed away from potato salad, corn, chocolate, and brownies and chose veggies, protein, and watermelon for dessert. I'm at least nourishing my body even if the scale isn't cooperative.3 -
Hurray for the Mission Slimpossibles team! This is such a fabulous group of people, and we are so glad you are here with us on the journey, whether you are new or returning from June or a previous month! This is a group of people that would love to hear about what you are up to as you work on your health and fitness on a daily basis using whatever plan you find is best for you. We want to hear about both the struggles and the victories, and will be sharing ours with you.
Start-of-the-New-Month Introduction
I'm Austin. I joined the group 10 months ago, part way through my journey, and find this group to be super helpful and supportive. I have lost over 130 pounds since I started work on losing weight (January 2018), and have reached (!) my initial goal. I am now working on "recomp" -- losing the last bit of extra body fat, and doing resistance work to build muscle. I study martial arts and love walks, especially outdoor walks, so you'll see lots of those activities on my check-ins. I love to read up on things, and have studied nutritional science* and habit building** as I have worked on losing weight and getting healthier. Every body and every person is different, and I have enjoyed learning more and engaging in the kind of science experiment of figuring out what works for me. Making it happen has been and is still all about developing new habits for me, so every so often I burble about habit building!
* If interested, check out the nonprofit, research-based site nutritionfacts.org as a great place to start.
** If interested, check out the work of James Clear. He has a book called Atomic Habits. This video on How to Get 1% Better Every Day has been particularly useful to me. He kicks it off this way:
"So if you were able to improve by 1% each day for an entire year... you would end up 37 times better at the end of the year. And if you were to get 1% worse, you would whittle yourself down almost to zero."3 -

Hey @Katmary71 - Hang in there! We all so get the frustration!
And - wow! - you are down over 5 pounds this month! That's great for anybody, and you are getting close to your goal weight, yes? For some people, things change slower as they get close.
And as for yesterday's food choices -- that is so awesome! Making healthier-for-you choices will have you get to your healthy weight and stay close to it long term!1 -

What a great challenge! I just started with the back series. I am super glad there was nobody around to see me doing the "sea horse" and "wide leg fold" poses, but it all felt good!
Thank you @cyndiesstuff for a great new challenge!

SHOW ME THE GREEN CHALLENGETHIS MONTH THE MODERATORS ARE ASKING
EACH AND EVERY CHALLENGER THAT WOULD LIKE TO TAKE PART INSHOW ME THE GREEN CHALLENGEHERE IS HOW HOW IT WORKS

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B0Wl2qconcMmfbCT3JhdssfcDDo58Rys0Lc5m-xleDs/edit?ts=5d13d924#gid=1823187897
THIS IS THE WORKOUT WARRIORS SPREADSHEET SCROLL DOW TO MY NAME SCROLL ACROSS AND SEE THE LBS. ENTERED...EASY PEASY
YOUR CAPTAINS WILL THEN POST THAT AMOUNT OF WEIGHT IN THE CHALLENGE COLUMN ON THE TEAMS SPREAD SHEET.
AS THE TALLIES ARE POSTED AT THE END OF THE OF EACH WEEK YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE HOW YOUR DOING FOR THE MONTH

KMD1214 (Kate) would LOVE to lose 6 pounds during the month of July’s — 1.5 lbs per week!1
-
@Kres567 is it too late to be on the cheer squad for July? I’m still going to be away from civilization much of July, but I didn’t like being totally off either. Thanks.
Never too late for cheer squad! But we never took you totally off anyway - you were also cheer in June! We weren't letting you go far!2 -
@AustinRuadhain Thank you for pointing out my monthly weight loss, I didn't realize I lost 5lbs, that IS good! Despite the extra weight my pants (new ones, darnit!) are really loose today so I'm doing something right. I'm 10-15 pounds from my goal weight so I expect things to slow down. Thanks again!3
-
I'm going to kick *kitten* this month! I'm tired of just being mediocre!2

Lol, well I’m so glad to know that! Thanks, Mark!0 -
So happy to be a part of the group - and thanks @AustinRuadhain for cluing me in! I am 55, been around the weight loss block for years with a 130 pound loss years ago - but I struggle with 50ish pounds. Lost 35 lbs 2 years ago, gained it back in 2018 and attacking again in 2019. Feels different, I learned a lot and am going to take advantage of that and not let a slide rule my life nor shape my future. 235 is as close as I've come to my all-time high of about 300 (size 26) many years ago - and today 235 feels like 300 did back in the day - if that makes sense. Now if I could conquer the 50 and weigh 175 - and let 185 be my new freak out number, as apparently 235 is now - I'd be where I want and need to be.
I work full time and sometimes plus. Have a goal of 30 minutes a day of exercise (I do not quite this much per day, about half the week now) and a water increase goal of 12 cups a day.
Looking forward to the month and being supportive and cheering you all on, too!!!!! =>

Why - oh why - is it hardest to see how far you've come when you are closer than ever...? This has happened to me several times and yes - hang in there! Fall in love with your 5 pound loss for June (not easy when you're so close to goal) and rejoice! I'm really happy for you and I know you probably feel better and are very happy with your success. Cheering you on over here!!

@raleighgirl09 Thank you for your kind words, not looking at the big picture is exactly what I was doing wrong! I loaded up and donated 4 bags of clothes from sizes at my highest weight on down. It felt great to get rid of the larger sizes and elastic-waisted pants!
Welcome to the group! You've done a great job at keeping most of your original weight loss off, you obviously know how to get back on track. I think you have good goals, you got this Maria!3 -
I am going to lose 10 this month3

Hey everyone... happy new month.
I last weighed myself at 11 stone 10.5lbs at the beginning of June - that's 164.5lbs in old money.
I was making very steady progress, but perhaps not at the expected rate for a regular 3500 calorie deficit a week.
Now, of course I know why, and while I still haven't fixed my bathroom scales (with a load of travel plans cancelled I can probably afford to replace it soon, promise!), there's very little point standing on scales any time soon as I'm goodness knows how much Eric-(that's the name of my tumour)-weight.
(Since I got the news and started indulging in a few treats, it's probably not just Eric, but shhh!)
I hope you allow me tag along with the Slimpossibles still. I have a few goals for July that are not scales related:- to stay sober and not booze like a 90s Britpop ladette.
- to practice mindfulness every day.
- to choose healthful foods.
- to be as active as I can be before my operation.
- to say no to more things - avoid stress.
- and, like has been suggested, look at the big picture. Recovery, and a healthy future.
I have some step updates... lots of gardening happened over the weekend too. But also I went to a festival, so you know, not that healthy.
Thursday 27th - 12263
Friday 28th - 15736 - and apparently I broke my Workweek Hustle record with 58558 steps over the 5 days!
Saturday 29th - 11780
Sunday 30th - 136935 -

Donna, you’ve been doing great even with Eric. It will be interesting to see how your weight compares before and after your surgery. Do you know yet when that will be? Great stepping, by the way!0 -

Hello! I am new to the group for July. I was sooooo close to my goal earlier this year. I had gone from 217 down to 152, and my goal is around 140. I just lost my grip and got off track, and I have gained a lot of it back. I am back up to 196. I am starting over and saw this challenge and thought it would be great to have support and accountability while I re-lose all this weight!4
