Yeah.... they don't look super friendly in execution. And you would want two seats on.each flight too!

Although vision has not improved much - my overall physical well-being is so much better!

This weekend I tackled a bit more in my backyard that was always at the cusp of going wild but I managed to contain it. This year it crossed that line. But using a chair so I wouldn’t be bending I got rid of most of the weeds on my patio, trimmed back shrubs that we’re growing over there shorter neighbours and pulled out the old tire obstacle course ??? not really sure what to call it but they were standing on edge and partially buried in the ground so they wouldn’t shift and The Boy used them for many many things.

I drilled holes in them so that they will not become mosquito breeding grounds when I get younger son to tuck them back beside the shed for potential future grand children 🙂

So much to do back here … I haven’t stained the patio furniture which needs to be done every year … new mulch has to go down now that I’ve cleaned up what is currently a dirt patch … I might plant some more hostas to separate the patio from the dog play pen 🙂??? …. I’ll have to tuck away those bricks I picked up from an old building being demolished just before the eyeball went south … I’m so looking forward to having my body back.

    Soon … 🙂

    Hi, everyone!
So. Wedding happened, haven't heard from the photographer yet so no photos. It was not a legal wedding, which is great because if I legally marry him I lose my state health insurance, and we can't afford it on the open market. And given that I gotta have my cataracts done, and I'm being followed to make sure the cancer isn't there any more, and that my feet WILL need future work, I have to stay on insurance. We consider each other husband and wife, so it's okay. We'll go do powers of attorney, etc. to keep it all as safe as we can.

We got a new puppy! Her name is Opal, she is a seven month old Bullboxer, according to the shelter. She is fabulous, and is wearing Sergeant Pickles out. cxdw72g7jfe5.jpg

Oh my goodness Alexandra…a matched set!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Big congratulations on your wedding! Two things feel different even without the legal aspect or did avoiding the legal aspect help you avoid that spiderweb feel???

So I won't be around the rest of today and maybe tomorrow. Ended up with food poisoning. Symptoms hit just as I was going to bed last night and did not let up until like 9am. Still not feeling great and I am very dehydrated so sipping water and a flat soda.

Our building maintenance guy got me some ginger ale (he is an amazing human being). I also have a grocery delivery for Gatorade, jello, and white bread for toast coming a bit later.

Think another nap is in order though. So tired between not sleeping all night, the sickness, and the dehydration.

So sorry to hear this Athijade.
I hope you’re over the worst of it 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thank you, Yooly. I was thinking of you when I took that picture this morning. I don’t imagine that green canopy comes easily in your neck of the woods. I live in the central part of the city and it’s so nice to have all of the green to make me feel like I’m far far away from the chaos just the other side of it. And the coolness that comes with the shade. I’ve long ago giving up on growing grass between the shade and the boy and the dog(s)… but that’s OK 🙂

Hope you’re feeling better soon. Food poisoning is not pleasant! Have you tried Saltine crackers. I’ve found them helpful for upset stomach.

I’ve missed you Alexandria! Congratulations on the official celebration of your marriage. Sounds like you, the new hubby and pups are having a splendid time together. Hope you can find time to check in more regularly?

It’s hotter than hot. Well over 100 degrees the last few weeks and predicted to be the same over the next ten days. No rain in several weeks- although that would only make humidity worse. Think steam bath 🛀. ki4ekcwgnz45.jpeg
So Laurie’s cool oasis is a lovely reminder of what summer should be.

OMG! First of all our food sick one, hope you feel better ASAP @Athijade !

WHAT A BACK YARD!!! and wow dedication on the weeding without bending! I have graduated to making the backyard just dirt after killing all the grass. (ME=) bad back-yard person!

And Alexandra! Woohoo! Definitely a matched set and poor poor Sergeant Pickles with that whippersnapper nipper after him all the time. Poor guy.

And congratulations on the unconventional navigation of conventions!

Laurie you could also use them as planters, right? Or to hold planters upright?

I took some time off and let myself do what I was going to do to handle emotions and stress around the wedding, and there was some gain, but I also decided to try IF, and didn't want particularly to talk about it until I had given it a go.

I think it is helping with recomp, as I feel like I have less lower back rolls, but the big thing it is helping with is the grazing. That, especially at night, was a real problem. And it turns out I do a lot better if I have a nice dinner and dessert and then say, "Okay, I'm done," instead of having a small snack before bed, because if I have anything I don't want a small amount, and sometimes I just don't have any willpower to resist having more at night. And I never did like eating breakfast, so skipping that has been okay. I don't think I'm going to be doing something like fasting alternate days soon, but this is helping me get a handle on the snacking, and that's worth a lot to me.

I do want to lose weight, but more than that I want to heal the issues I have with food, so that I can enjoy it for what it is and not use it as a drug.

Getting my annual skin cancer body check today. Nothing like being nekkid and having someone closely scrutinize all my loose skin!
I guess it’s better than having them inspect a hundred more pounds of me. But when you lose weight in old age nothing much snaps back regardless of exercise. There’s muscles under there. Really!

Congrats on the wedding Alex and welcome back. It is nice to "see" your face.

I am still out for the count. In fact, I think I feel worse today then I did yesterday. Thinking the toast and scrambled eggs last night were a bit too much too soon. Trying to hang on at work because I just don't have much extra PTO right now. So glad I work from home because there is no way I could go into an office in the state I am in.

Hope you feel better soon! Smart Yooly getting your skin checked out!

PSA: when walking, especially at night... avoid impacting branches with any portion of your forehead or higher! The snap-back and cursing could cause distress to your canine companion who is left wondering why there is loss of tension on their lead plus an assortment of cell phones and flashlights impacting the area around them! I think that bike helmet is becoming more necessary... let me check amazon...

Hope there’s no permanent damage to your head PAV! Maybe a construction hard hat? One of those high impact baseball caps? Perhaps no more night walks in the woods?

I imagine it was pretty horrible but you make it sound so exciting, PAV. Now I want to go for a walk in the woods at night with you!

One of my dogs would worry and lick my face until I woke up. The other would assume he'd been given permission to RUN! and be gone for the next three hours visiting the neighbors up and down the block, and running away with a big grin on his face when anyone got close.

Well, I got the sunroom cleaned up, and we've only had one pile in the house today, so I think Opal is getting the idea. Currently she and Sergeant Pickles are playfighting, with a lot of wide eyes, open mouths, and rolling about gently grabbing scruffs and ears. They're both grinning widely when they break off.

Not forest. In the forest she would not be attached. We were on a sidewalk but visiting the grasslands near trees. Compete hot dogs in buns have been discover in recent memory so yes, there's incentive!

However I'm off the clock for the rest of the month.... due to "recovery"

tl/DR chop chop done and back home

Spent all day "waiting" -- well I did sneak in a two hour nap while waiting.

Dr. was quite gentle and apologetic!! when she woke me up to put an X and her initials on the spot with her marker! No switcheroos allowed!

Discovered previous hernia (no option had been given) was general lights out with no adverse notes. This time took the available option of heavy sedation plus local. I liked this one much better. Zero difference to me in terms of personal awareness during the festivities, except knowing that this time SIX! people were staring at me! I was out of it in both cases; it was just easier to wake up this time. And nothing adverse during this procedure either--which is good since we have a separate not yet resolved concern that could have interfered.

But, note to otherwise wonderful staff... come on people. If I am shaking/shivering from cold or after-effects (which I was for the first 15+ minutes in the recovery room).... what is the point of trying to pee? I mean... relaxing enough to do so while shaking uncontrollably ain't happening!!! And it's not like there was a line-up waiting for a bed or end of shift or anything! After some warm blankies, some apple juice and ginger ale, and about 20 minutes all was good.

Came home and had another 2.5 hour nap. For now I'm icing and just staying with extra strength Tylenol and ibuprofen. As long as I am not laughing or coughing...

Royal edict: laughing or coughing PROHIBITED

When it’s all healed up PAV you’ll be happy it’s done and in the past. Your peeing exercise - they needed proof they didn’t knick something during the surgery!
Rest up and get well ❤️‍🩹

Just as I start getting better from the food poisoning I get a kidney infection.

But seriously, overall I am doing a lot better. I am now on Cipro for the kidney infection but even that is not nearly as bad as it was even yesterday. As long as I keep improving my doctor is fine with my current management. There was a moment at my appointment yesterday where she contemplated sending my to the hospital for IV antibiotics since I was still struggling to get enough fluids in, but she let me go with a prescription and a warning that if I couldn't keep the meds down that I HAD to go to the ER.

    Don't mess with kidneys!

Trying to figure out a meal plan for next week. Obviously I have had NOTHING that I had planned for this week. Need to see the damage when it comes to wasted food. Especially produce. Then I need a plan that is still pretty gentle on the stomach and digestion.

Sergeant. He has the hound urge to follow his nose past all boundaries, and the strength of the pit bull to shove his way under/through all obstacles. I offer to you the hole he put in my fence. (Since repaired) And yes, he knocked the bricks aside too. He would be through that hole in about 15 seconds and joyously off at a dead run down the street and into someone else's back yard about a minute later. And no, he does not come when called when he's out AWOL. I have to wait for him to bring his happy butt back home.
