Waiting for Nic cause scared and scarred due to previous fails! 🥺😳

I can only eat so much per day! Maybe I can try it at dinner. I already had a lemonade Creamsicle protein shake for breakfast and butterscotch protein pudding for lunch.

So when I looked at the link, it said to use regular yogurt, not Greek.

Fage Greek yogurt is thick as can be. I had to add 25ml of milk to thin it so I could even stir it. Tastes okay, but definitely not reminiscent of mousse. I think it would be good if I could find the sugar Free cheesecake flavor of jello, cause the tartness of the yogurt would match.

We only have the relatively smaller variety of flavours up north: white and regular choco, butterscotch and vanilla or combinations of them!🤷‍♂️

There was much feasting today 🍗🥂🥧🥗. A bit of fasting tomorrow to repent the excesses of today.

I know! Crazy. With all this talk about yoghurt fluff I might try it if I could buy a single box for $4. But six of them???!

Choco did work best for me so far with mix of yogurt and 2% thinking my next attempt will be about 250g milk 250g greek yogurt and a box of jello pudding

See, that sound like it might work well. I've been making my protein pudding (once I realized my milk error), with 1.75 cups of fairlife skim milk, 2 scoops of unflavored protein powder and one small package of sugar-free jello (Choco fudge or butterscotch). I like the slightly thicker texture of a little less milk, and this make 4 4 oz servings.

Still alive! Ate too much at Thanksgiving, though not as much as I would have in the past. I took smaller servings from the start and did not get a second plate (mentally I was tempted cause the food was OMG good, but I listened to my body instead).

Otherwise I took a much needed rest this weekend. Was off work Thursday and Friday. I did a few things, but mostly stayed home. Cooked a whole turkey dinner Saturday so will be eating off that for a while. Finished the last of my Christmas shopping yesterday as well. Waiting for a couple deliveries, then will get the last few things into gift bags. I am traveling to Indianapolis for Christmas so hauling everything should be SO much fun.

Wow Athijade sounds like a great thanksgiving- especially that you could modify portions. Success!

Wish I was done shopping. But I did put the Christmas tree and sundry decor out. Still have to get some cards written. Then there’s the very dangerous cookie baking for friends and neighbors……. I’m going to need supervision to keep myself safe from accidental cookie sampling.

Good for you, Athijade! Thanksgiving done and Christmas preparations well on their way!

You are making fine strides too, Yooly. Cookies. Danger. Danger. I don't usually bake cookies but this year I've volunteered to help with a breakfast with Santa event this Saturday for neighbourhood kids. I'm doing a cookie decorating table - baking cookies ahead of time and coming with cookies and icing and lots of different sprinkles for the kids to decorate. At the same time I'll have an eye on a painting table with sun catchers and Christmas decorations to paint.

And making 30 boxes of decorated cookies in fancy little boxes for the grown ups.

Hmmm....maybe I took on just a bit too much ... lol.

I'm afraid of having so many cookies around me so am waiting until Thursday than will do some major baking and packaging.

Oooh lots of cookie contact there Laurie! You might need to bring a support person to eat any unfortunate cookies that don’t meet standards.
I’ve worked down 3 thanksgiving pounds only to face the inevitable cookie pounds! I’ll try to be careful on days without cookie contact.

Today I’m at the airport. Just cleared TSA. Going to El Paso for a few days mostly exploring and indulging in good Mexican food. But I’ll be watching the quantities. 🫣

Wow! I'm getting jelly and inspired by all the happenings. Aspiring to... enough sleep after spending days (trying to and failing) to sort out an issue and then the same effort to contract it out and get it mostly sorted out with the third party before crashing. Currently crashed (not the issue---me!)

Hoping to slowly start making some changes, not just with diet, but with other parts of my life. But I also know that if I try and do it all at once then I will get overwhelmed. I do not have a time table on this. Once I feel like I have made the habits stick, then I will move to the next set.

    So here is set 1:

    - Make my bed in the morning
    - Drink a glass of water first thing
    - Do some sort of exercise (even a 10 minute stretch) 4 days a week minimum
    - Order in/eat out less

I think those should be a pretty easy set to start with. Nothing TOO difficult.

Great start, Athijade. The water - small exercise morning routing is brilliant. I might just follow you on these two. Sometimes the BIG things are hard to keep hold. But starting the day with such positivity will make the rest of your day a healthier one and help on the inspiration and determination front too!.

Excitement in El Paso. Vacay going well until I took a tumble in a rose garden. Hurt my dignity and my hand. Much bruising and swelling and five hours in an ER later. No break but very painful wrist. Getting dressed is miserable but the vacation goes on.
Upside is that my brace and sling will earn me a quicker trip through TSA and boarding.

Darn, Yooly. Sorry to read this. There are so many places for things to go awry in our wrists. Hope you heal well and quickly. Bad season to be going one handed! :(

Just finished my first week back at work (well, 7.5 hours ago but I had to sleep, lol). Went great, keeping my steps and water up. Pureed chicken is really not my thing, but turns out I can have beef so I'm gonna try something tomorrow. The tiny meals are alot of work for little return but I'm trying. I can stomach (haha) about 75-80% of one large egg scrambled with 1oz low-fat cottage cheese. I continue to have zero problems with pudding, I guess because it's closer to liquid, I can eat a 3-4oz portion no problem. Cheesecake and lemon flavors on my list for tomorrow.

Follow-up appt tomorrow and I'm glad because my primary incision is gooey. Driving me nuts because Monday it was scabbed over, so I uncovered it when I got up, it stayed uncovered for like 6 hrs, then I showered before work and it decided to drain afterwards. Now I've had it covered since and it's oozing continuously and won't scab, but I don't have an unusual amount of redness and I keep sniff testing it, no suspicious odor (sorry, I'm a nurse).

I hope your sniffing continues to be good!

Good for you, Nic. Hope the draining/oozing ends soon.

Yooly - that looks so very sore. Are you left-handed or right?

Doctor's visit went well. My incision is not a concern (I know it wasn't really, no smell and no spreading redness) I just have to ride out the healing. Um, I can switch to regular vitamins at 6 weeks, so 3+ more weeks of the powdery chewables. The calcium aren't bad (orange flavored), but the strawberry Creme multivitamins with iron are gross. He cleared me to start doing weight based exercise as long as I stick to low-weight/bodyweight and high rep and don't do sudden pulling movements with heavy weight, or aggressive twisting at the hips. I can swim once my incisions heal.

I meet with the dietician in 2 weeks, I'll have an Inbody scan done at that time (should have got it pre-op but their machine was down), then in February I see the dietician again, then in May I see my Dr and the dietician and will have a followup Inbody scan. I did have one way back at my initial appointment like a year ago, after which the dietician told me I had a "remarkable" amount of muscle. The goal is to hold onto alot of that muscle, while losing weight. I guess it was because I was always at least somewhat active despite my bulk. I was not a sloth, just ate way too much.

    I visited the eye doctor.
Apparently there is nothing wrong with me... other than my eyes not seeing a heck of a lot on their own!

Well they actually see a lot. Just not in a particularly clear fashion!

Since the guy was mostly into zapping with lasers and I'm into protective barricades constructed with shatter proof glass barriers he sent me away to a "trusted" optometrist!

    We shall see!
