Mice. Hamsters. Kittens. They're ganging up on us. The small-sized furry ones are trying to take over.

I'm a bit nauseated from the rollercoaster too, Connie. Somewhere there has to be one that just keeps going down - and then you get off?!

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED:
Do NOT watch 6 back-to-back episodes of 'Stanley Tucci Searching For Italy' when you're even the slightest bit hungry. Better still, don't watch it at all. Not even Stanley's undeniable charms could compete with the mouthwatering dishes on display. Food porn of the highest order.

Boy oh boy, I miss Italy.....

Another unseasonably warm day today and a big cool off tomorrow. Spring has arrived! I saw several redbud trees blossoming already.
So today it’s chicken drumettes, sweet potato and salad. Planning on making pea soup tomorrow because soup season will be over soon. Time to start looking over the warm weather recipes. We’ll get a couple of months when no heating or cooling is required. And I can even open the windows. Woohoo 🥳

Congrats on the down 3lbs @Athijade ... hope the house viewing is going well.

We have a beautiful warm day here today too - but the wind is frightening. A few times out walking this morning I had to stop and literally hold onto a fence. And I am no lightweight.

Nothing like a clean house! Clutter, dust and messy floors make me crazy stressed. And when I’m stressed I get the munchies! Clean house leads me to cleaner eating.

Today we celebrated Laine's birthday...😁... First time ever I've baked a cake for a dog - eggs and sweet potato and dehydrated liver treats and some cheddar cheese with topping of whipped cream and blueberries made for a happy pup. No risk of me overindulging on that one!

Awww! I'll have to do something similar when Normie is 10 at the end of this month.

    Happy birthday Laine!

She really really enjoyed it and fully understood it was a celebration for her. Afterwards, when I watched the video :) a few times, she snuggled up close enjoying the sounds.

Oh, and there go my waterworks. 😭♥️♥️♥️ (Not sure why the page turned my hearts black...seems wrong...)

Happy belated birthday, sweet girl! Very happy to continue celebrating you today on mine... Whisper-singing a little "happy birthday to us" right now before my next meeting.

I'm getting back on track tomorrow - not that I've gone NEARLY as far out of control as I was afraid I might during a few days of trying to mindfully stay near maintenance...since family birthday dinner got pushed to next weekend. Best laid plans and all. In the grand scheme of things, it's a blip that I know how to recover from - and honestly, it's also easier than I expected to want to get back on track...I've struggled in the past with finding logging and THINKING about weight loss overwhelming. I'll take all the wins where I can get them!! ☺️

Happy Birthday, Melissa! I wish you lots of birthday love and joy. Dogs just have a direct line to our hearts - we are so lucky they like us humans like they do <3

Thank you, Judy. Not the snazziest pic of me...lol...it was nice to have the cute grandson to hide behind!

Didn’t have a good day calorie-wise. Why? I don’t know 🤷‍♀️. Went quite a bit over my 1300 calories. After the gym this morning, I was just ravenous. And probably thirsty. But instead of stopping and making better choices, I snacked on everything in sight.
    Onward to a better tomorrow........

Thirsty - that for me has sort of been resolved by having a bowl of cherry tomatoes sitting on the counter. I don't bother logging them anymore - which maybe I should - but I'm trying to find my new normal and figure that those and little english cucumbers I can munch on without too much worry. Since just "not eating" when I'm waiting in the kitchen for the kettle to boil or some other such thing doesn't seem an honest possibility any time soon. :#
I think it is as much/more about the juice rather than the food?
They are right beside my water dispensing thingy - I think they have become vitamin water.

Laurie that sounds brilliant. And as for logging you can split up a lb over however many days it takes you and even add it before or after the fact.

I usually make a 10+ cup carafe every morning. Don't know what size cup they imagine it to be; none of the ones I use! I often don't finish the last little bit. Other times I get a 12 or 20 or 24 oz coffee while I'm out.

I still just log 60oz of coffee every day. And probably should be logging 80 🤷🏻‍♂️🙀

I can't wrap my head around drinks in ounces....in the UK coffees are served as small, regular or large.

    A small's about 250mls, a regular about 350mls and a large about 450mls.

    Wine/water/juice/smoothies/pop is sold in mls

    Milk/beer/cider/lager in pints.

When you folks across the pond talk in terms of 20oz or 40oz etc I literally can't visualise it and do the mental conversion...

And I can’t measure it any other way except ounces, pounds, pints, quarts, etc!….when someone says they need to lose a stone all I can think of is a rock!….personally, I need to lose a boulder lol

Good idea, PAV. To just divide it over the the days rather than specifically.

At the moment I'm experiencing a terrible reluctance to log. I'm not eating badly - just can't seem to bring myself to log it. ?????

I'm thinking perhaps I'll experiment with a different system for a bit? What I'm loosely doing is allowing myself 3 of my standard snacks/meals a day. And occasionally a treat. Maybe I can allocate so many per week instead? But that will require more tracking than I feel inclined to do at the moment.

I have a pretty good idea of what each of these snack/meals contain. So it might be okay for a bit? I'll give it a week or two and see what happens with the scale.

Maybe this is my way of working my way back to serious weight loss again. Baby steps.

Whatever works is what works! Right Laurie?

    Bella, remember that we're confused?

    Tim XS = Starbucks Short = 8oz
    Tim SM = McDonalds SM = 10oz (285ml)
    Tim M = 14oz < McDonalds M = 14.75 oz (420ml) < Starbucks Grande = 16oz
    Starbucks Grande = 16oz < McDonalds L = 19oz (540ml) < Tim L 20oz
    Tim L = Starbucks Venti = 20oz < McDonalds XL = 23oz (650ml)
    McDonalds XL = 23oz/650ml < Tim XL = 24oz

Lotta math going on there ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ for a simple coffee. Brew a quality coffee at home, thermal cup and good to go. Works at home and at work. Drink as much as you need to stay awake. Of course on the road you’re stuck with iffy store bought brew.

Maybe there's something in the air today?

I just blew 350 Cal on a trace amount of cereal I inhaled. Most certainly NOT the best way to start a balanced day for me!

OK: I am sure that SOME person somewhere would consider this to truly be TWO+ portions of cereal that would provide them with a few hours of satiety... that person doesn't appear to be me is all I'm saying!!!

In terms of coffee, @Yoolypr , I am currently experimenting within the very high production volume, yet relatively well regarded, Lavazza brand.

My previous go-to was the locally roasted Nabob line-up, but I (got bored and) convinced myself it was not "complex" enough! I then tried out, but failed to find enough value in the highly regarded, and correspondingly priced, Kicking Horse line of coffees. So now I am playing with Lavazza where I both enjoy the product and where the price performance is not terrible, if I only buy the sales! And which I do enjoy more than either Tim's or MacDonald's!
