I see some smart ladies with good solutions there! Alexandra there is always a couch and a blankie! Though I am with Yoolie as to what would happen with the tasty food. Yoolie, I think that chasing squirrels and fetching sticks is a universally perfect solution!

Didn't help much of anything that today the only "available" options were: a selection of kick-kittens looking sandwiches @ $8.99 to $9.99 each. Yes even the egg salad sandwich was $8.99! OR, $1.99 scones. Yes the sandwiches were probably closer to 600 than 400 Cal and more nutritious. But the pocketbook said $2 and not $10
  • I am annoyed that now that my neck doesn't bother me so much I'm aware of how sore my shoulders are by nine pm.

Early April I get to see about that reduction. I'm just going to ask for a generous half off. I'm not worried about what exact cup size that is, it'll just be way easier to live with than what I have now.

Yikes, diesel here is now £1.60 a litre.

That's about $8.15 US per US gallon
or $10.30 CAN per US gallon/$12.36 CAN per imperial gallon.

Do you use US or imperial gallons in Canada? Or litres?

And we’re complaining about $3.09 a gallon for gasoline!

Tell me if you come through Indianapolis!

I always forget that you are nearby! And I will for sure be asking for recipes at some point.

And PAV, I am so sorry for that tumble off the wagon... and down the cliff. I think it has happened to the best of us though. There have been days I just say F it.

My stomach is adjusting to the sudden increase in fiber rich veggies and fruit. Though it is uncomfortable!

Litres...yesterday the average price for regular unleaded gas where I live in Ontario was $1.52ish - but more in BC $1.66ish - add about .10 to that for diesel (give or take because prices are bouncing around a fair bit).

PAV kind of spectacularly fell off the deficit wagon - fast food and donuts! Hopefully he’s put on his big boy pants (which may be snug now) and recovered his senses.

All good.... for 1.5 days so far. In spite of giant blueberry scone yesterday and king sized "eat-more" today! Apparently wedge sandwiches are now priced at $8.99 to 9.99. airport whopper jr 3.99. airport whopper 11.99 just the sandwich. A+W had huge line up.. ended up with almonds from Starbucks and a 75g eat more 🤷🏻‍♂️

Given the direction I'm traveling to.... we shall see what happens tonight!!!🙀🤷🏻‍♂️

Was happy I can still fit comfortably in the middle seat since the guy to my right was me at 47/48

1.79 in Vancouver. Similar or higher than Hamilton for Alberta? I was told 1.59

    Garfield we do litres👍

Laurie or a Canuck lurker can correct me but the most common Canadian metrics would go along:

Kilometers and liters for cars ànd hikes.
But ft and inches and square feet for house construction.
Lbs for person weight and cm for height
Fruits and meat priced in lbs but bought in kg

    🤷🏻‍♂️

We are a funny hybrid with our measurements. I and most of those around me use feet and inches for our height.
How about temperature? I'm using C year round, but think in F for summer temperatures and C for winter. Canada was converting when I was ??? 12 I think? One of my first jobs was selling Metric conversion kits for your car speedometer door-to-door (basically stickers).

I had a king-sized eat more last week. First time I've had one of those in decades. Wow. It was better than I remembered. And with all those peanuts kind of a fair dinner!

Celcius all the time for the weather but 100% Fahrenheit for oven temperatures. But Celsius for meat thermometer!🙀🤷🏻‍♂️

And I thought Canada was totally metric! So confusing.
I had to look up Eat-Mores because they’re not sold in the US.

Lol - I forgot about that - yes, Fahrenheit for the oven, and I don't use a meat thermometer...body temperature I'm still inclined to think in Fahrenheit too.

Nah, body temperature I think in Celsius because childhood sickness time was in Greece  I don't use a meat thermometer either... but the temperatures on it are in C

Eat mores and Charleston Chews I like both because they can be nudged towards a bit of a longer lasting eating experience-especially the vanilla and chocolate chews. Eat mores and actually snickers (which I can inhale in two bites) and Oh Henry's do have a bit more "staying power" for me, because of the peanuts I believe. The other "longer lasting chew" one for me is probably the "Big Turk".. if I can make myself disregard how artificial it tastes.

We're hybrids in the UK too...
    • Distance and speed for everything except cycling is in miles and mph
    • Cycling is always in kilometers and kph
    • Car mileometers show both miles and kms, but the bigger digits are miles
    • Temperature is celsius (human and ambient) - though older folks still think in fahrenheit
    • Oven temperature in celsius
    • Weight for almost everyone is stones and pounds - unless you work in healthcare, when it's invariably metric
    • Food measurement is in metric...but recipes can be a mixture of metric or imperial
    • Butchers and greengrocers have prices in imperial and metric but most people still tend to think in terms of imperial for most foodstuffs (half a pound of butter, an 8oz steak, a pound of carrots, a pint of milk etc etc).
    • Height for most people is feet and inches...though in healthcare its metric
    • Fuel is in litres, though folks still make the mental conversion to price per gallon
    • House measurements predominantly in feet and inches (as are most construction measurements)
    • In pubs and restaurants lasses of wine are in metric, but beer and cider are in pints
    • Milk is sold in litres but always referred to in pints
    • Bodily measurements (waist, hips etc) predominantly in inches.

Folks under thirties are more likely to think almost exclusively in metric.

Thank goodness for easy online access to measuring conversions!

Just a quick thought on airport eating. Generally avoid eating in airport restaurants. I carry an empty thermal water bottle for easy refills. And I carry Belvita crackers (230 cals in pkg. of four). They come in various flavors and have some staying power not to mention the crunch factor. And no discomfort of sitting for hours with a full tummy. Otherwise I call it a mini fast day and save calories for a nice meal at my destination. Two packs got me to Anchorage with room for a nice meal later!

Not much to speak of, here - I've taken a couple of days around maintenance. Lots of stress recently outside the deficit, which I'm sure along with normal hormonal stuff has exacerbated the feeling of "getting nowhere." It's been a nice recharge... I felt far more productive in my workout tonight than I have in a bit, and some of the lingering muscle soreness from early in the week has finally let up. I expect to have one more higher end day sometime over this weekend, pre-birthday dinner (depending on if/how family schedules line up). Once all that's done, I plan to be on track until vacation in May - hoping it's a viable plan and not just a good intention. 🤣
