Can you arrange to shadow someone while you’re at work? Or maybe a few hours before/after work? Weekends? 40 hours really isn’t thaaaaat long.
Speak to your advisor about alternate ways to fill this requirement. They will often accommodate working adults and you’ve got excellent grades.

Driver-less delivery and/or Uber cars. Austin is a test site. Kind of scary seeing a Waymo car with no driver next to you on a busy road!

Definitely a stock photo! I’m not getting any closer than I must. No spray painting sensors because they’re loaded with cameras too. I went past the main car yard last week. Hundreds of Waymos parked waiting for work…. The really disturbing thing is passing the driverless car with 3-4 passengers inside.
It’s the future I suppose and I’ll probably be grateful when I’m too old to drive any longer (soon!).

    I agree, weird...

    They look like trooper cars

The TRULY frightening aspect of the driverless phenomenon are the self driving semi trucks. Which are also test driving our freeways. Nothing like a massive driverless truck behind you at 70 mph!

Hi, It's been awhile, but wanted to say hello. Closed my last Adventures account after life happened over the holidays, and finally trying to get things going again. Things are looking different on the site and food tracker, but it is good to see all of you who are still here :)

edit: I agree, driverless trucks on hwy is scary!

Hope everyone is okay? Loads of posts to catch up on!
Getting on to MFP (still) can be impossible 🤬

Moved over to Cronometre (Cheers PAV). Logging as best as can ; gets so labourious!

Have been away in June / July to Isle of Skye in aged Motorhome, Allen, and had a great (diet) break with lots of Loch and fell walking.. and great restaurants - too much beautiful fish, venison and cranikan!
No weight gain, but no loss either 😬, apart from the wallet

Hey Mr. PAV - are you affected by the tsunami warning after the big earthquake in the Pacific?

Bad news on the job front. Unable to negotiate my base hourly rate up high enough(at all) to make the finances work, so I will not be taking the new position. Only positive is an ego boost: multiple PAs and Drs I've previously worked with, and the nurse I shadowed, all told the lady in charge of hiring that they had to have me. Sadly, since they're affiliated with the hospital, there's basically no negotiation.

Their loss Nic! They’ll regret their decision I’m sure. Once you have graduated you’ll be in a strong position to try other places and better pay. Patience..

Sadly, unless I want to apply for some sort of leadership position, my bachelor's degree won't increase my pay, where I live right now. That's not true in other places.

I'm having surgery in the morning, after work (I am literally walking over to preop after my shift) to ablate the varicose veins in my right leg. Left leg two weeks later.

Having achieved close to but sub four hours sleep according to Fitbit on 2 days in a row I am hoping the dang canine has decided to continue on the way back home so that I can maybe achieve something closer to seven.... Which will improve my ability to walk as opposed to stumble. And I'm sure it will improve a few other things too 🤔🤯

Look at you Nic! Beautiful even in a hospital gown! Hope it all went well and you heal quickly 😍

Get some sleep Mr.PAV. You ain’t a boy no more…. Can’t pull those all-nighters without some major body rebellion.

Hope it went well Nic. Will be interested to know if it helps.

Pav - sleep well, I hope. Takes me way longer to recover now too.

Well, the honeymoon is over, and suffering a bit of diet fatigue headed into month 8.

A loved one's medical need this week did refresh my determination, but it feels dogged.

Finished with DASH for heart health, RD is having us focus now on MIND diet for brain health (also similar exchange system, with foods for brain health.)

Hubby is starting a 120 day pre-bariatric stuff - lots of apptmts, and food changes ahead for him.

    I find my brain stretched… I honestly don't want food/issues so prominent...

There's a certain freedom to the 'see food, eat food' approach. I need to quit fretting giving that up and focus on the good things ahead.

This weeks summer favs - chilled watermelon & corn on the cobb.

I know Yakky!!! Just tired of the relentless food control issues. I’m able to manage but it’s exhausting. However it’s a legitimate psychological problem so I’m not beating myself up with guilt. I try to make food decisions in the morning and log them in so I don’t have to think too much later as the day progresses. This helps with meals - doesn’t solve the impulse snacks. But it’s a semi successful strategy.

    AI Overview
Decision fatigue refers to a state of mental exhaustion that results from making too many decisions in a short period. It occurs when the cognitive resources used for decision-making are depleted, leading to: Reduced ability to make rational choices, Increased indecisiveness, Procrastination, Lower quality decisions, and Irritability and frustration.

Omg, that is it, exactly! And, nice to know it's legit! And, others understand.

So it was 103F/39C degrees today. Parking the car even near a tree with windshield cover resulted in burning hot seat and steering wheel. AC struggled to make it bearable on the ride home.
BUT - the sky was glorious with real puffy white clouds. Usually it’s relentless bare hot skies. So unusual that it was almost startling!
