Snack packs are a deconstructed version - especially if one also added meringues. ;)
I have not made anything of a bar or protein bars/bombs - gave up baking irrestibles so have not explored homemade nutrition bars.

We had a surprise 1st bloom this year on a tree that was here when we moved in a few years ago. Thought it was a scrub tree - just hadn't removed it yet.
Not sure if this is a sweet or tart apple coming on. Have never seen a cascading apple like this.

Yakky- I think what you have there is a crab apple tree. The apples are edible.
I think there’s a product I remember from the show Shark Tank which has been successful. It’s a simple mix for making homemade protein bars. Creation Nation is the brand name. I think Amazon has it?

Thanks Yooly, I'll give one a taste

Got off work at 8:00. Cleaned my garage from 8:45-12:45. Went up by the pool from 1:00-3:30. Took a nice long shower. Now I'm almost done getting a pedicure. I've been awake for 32.5hrs, lol. Next, grocery store to divine something for supper.

A bit of extra nervous energy?
Not that I'm one to talk but sleep is good sometimes!!!!
And chronic lack I'm sure has contributed some of my problems! 😞
Off to slumberland with you young lady!😎

O my goodness, hope you catch a good sleep Nic

I will. It's not that I couldn't sleep, I just chose not to. It's been so hot, but I'd absolutely been putting off doing the garage, and by the time I was done with it, the pool was great, and by the time I was done with the pool, I knew I could easily fix my sleep schedule for the weekend by just staying up (pushing 36 hours right now, will get 10 hours or so tonight)

Do not open a 150g Camembert which totally passes the creamy mild eat in unlimited amounts test and fails the sharp/piquant/intense/best used in tiny amounts guidance!🤷🏼♀️
Because a few hours later 75g are gone and the rest are making noises from inside the fridge!🤔🤔🤔

Yup - I cannot be trusted around cheeses of any kind. That Camembert would be gone in one sitting.

Started my weekend in what should have been a pleasant manner. Dropped a car at the oil change place about a mile from the house at 8am with my husband. We moseyed over to the coffee shop, grabbed drinks, and headed for a pleasant walk home. We made it most of the way before I caught my the toe of my sandal on the raised edge between two sections of sidewalk in my frigging neighborhood and absolutely ate it. Hit my left knee, both hands, left shoulder, left cheek. Oof. No blood fortunately, but I lightly skinned the knee, both heels of my hands and my shoulder. I have a bruise on my cheekbone already, mostly hiding in my tan, and an annoying headache. My left knee is sore where I came down right on my kneecap. I'm fine, it could have been worse, but it was embarrassing and a *kitten* start to my weekend.

Ugh.
I hope that after a few hours it has settled down though I fear that post adrenaline you may need a bit of extra icing!
On the super plus side of the ledger think how bad the fall would have been at your former weight and thank some stars and a Nicole for all the efforts you've put in to position you better! 😎
Now take it easy and get some room service from your peops at home while you tend to your boo boos over the weekend! ❤️🩹

Oh, I'm lounging in the sun like a lizard at the pool. I am also procrastinating about writing my part of a group paper draft that's due tomorrow at midnight

Hope you got that paper written Nic. Midnight is only a few hours away! And you surely don’t want to besmirch your exemplary academic record ……..

Oh, I submitted an absolute disaster of a draft paper, lol

Well at least you submitted something considering your injured condition. I’ll bet it’s better than you think. 🤔

Hmmmm..... how did the paper do? Did 'jade order the to be delivered bounty or is she heading out to the store to forage each meal? Is BClady surving the rains? Are puppies running in the Moors? Are artists painting walls in Newfoundland? Is yooly surviving the floods? Is yakky coming up with any new soup combinations? Does Garfield ever read these messages? Is mr Dante still a rugged outdoorsy guy maintaining most of his weight loss and "enjoying" the "warm" summer? Am I ever going to convince my hamsters🐹 to stop procrastinating?🤯 So many questions!

It’s still raining here in Austin. It is unusual and unbelievable almost. The worst of the flooding and tragedy was about 50 miles west of where I am. Over one hundred souls lost to flash floods! Truly a horror! I admit to being somewhat worried as I live on the edge of a flood plain and across from a dry creek. Dry creeks are rock hard clay - when you get 10+ inches of rain it becomes a rampant river. The forecast is for dry hot days ahead which is the norm.
And what’s Ms. Nic up to? Did she write that paper? You and I have many many questions Mr. PAV. Hope some answers are forthcoming!

In '82, I was caught in a flash flood, only about 3 feet. 1 of scariest moments of my life. I can't imagine a wall near to 30' feet. Heart-breaking. Covered in every broadcast... so tragic.

I did do Hello Fresh for this week and so far I am liking it. Really nice to just have it all arrive at the door, pre measured, and in some cases prepped. Though the biggest reason I am doing it is because of general burn out due to work which is impacting my drive to do normal everyday chores. Like meal planning. I call it decision fatigue. Too many options that deciding what to make the next week just feels like too much work. With Hello Fresh, they have a number of options still, but more limited then going at it alone.
It will not be something I do every week. A couple times a month most likely. And I still have to figure out breakfast and lunch, but honestly thinking of just doing things like frozen burritos/frozen meals for a lot of those.

Decision fatigue! That explains a lot of my issues.

I have 65 cookbooks, multiple pages of magazines where I tore out the recipes, thousands of recipes saved on Pinterest, and a bunch saved on TikTok and YouTube. So trying to decide what to eat any given week is just tough. I am not doing a meal service next week and I am struggling to make choices.
But I have decided that I am keeping things as simple as possible.
Breakfasts will be frozen sandwiches/burritos/bowls, yogurt and fruit, cereal, or oatmeal.
Lunches will be frozen meals, salad kits, or things I can make a big batch of like pasta salad.
Dinners will either be Hello Fresh (or other meal service as I may try different options) or I meal plan for the week.
During breakfast I will likely add some fruit if I do the frozen options. I had an Egglands Best bowl yesterday and it was actually pretty decent. It did need some hot sauce, but it was better then I expected.
If I do frozen meals during lunch, then I will add additional veggies to them for more nutrients and bulk.
If I do salad kits or things like pasta salad, I will add precooked chicken or other proteins.
It will likely be more expensive, but I am hoping by keeping it super easy I am less likely to order food in or eat out. Which means I could end up ahead cost wise. I also don't normally use my whole grocery budget as it is so I have flexibility there too.

Simple is good - in the absence of a home chef, a meal service would be a fun and good variety option, for sure.
Time often matters, and at times, I keep convenience single serve grab & go things like cheesesticks, yogurts, small snack sized crackers/chips, frozen tv dinners like lean cuisine. No muss, no fuss.
I've adopted Pavs suggestion to keep frozen veg bags to flesh out meals, it has helped.

Woohoo! Good to hear when something may have helped out! Especially gratuitous bunnies since they tend to align extra well with improved long term outcomes!
