When John and I got married almost 47 years ago we were both slimmer than we are now!…we both love cake, especially bakery cakes with lots of frosting….I would go to a bakery and get a birthday cake with a very long name on it so we could have more frosting!…we ate many birthday cakes for Alexandria, Stephanie, Casaundra, and Christine written on them lol…3

Virtual very gentle hug to Connie and no, food will NOT help anything at all!
Thank you….this morning my left ear canal is swollen shut and I can’t get my teeth bite to align because of swelling along the gum line….this is horrible and yes, I would wish this on my worst enemy!…it is difficult to type while scratching!4 -
UGH Connie! We may have to tie your hands?!??!?! Sleep a lot? *I* am at a loss for words on what to suggest!!!!!!!!
I can't help buy notice that SPLAT GARFIELD IS VERY VERY QUIET. She claimed that she still had thumbs not in a cast and could still type on Monday... I am wondering if there has been a change by Wednesday? Hmmmm...... ? Maybe @Bella_Figura can tell us about splatty's status.2 -
Connie, have you tried using cold packs for the itch? That helps me when I have hives. Cold and itch and pain run on the same nerve circuit, and so cold can swamp itch and pain signals.
Tonight Boyfriend is having baked fish with Mexican spices, corn pudding, and grilled zucchini that is leftover and needs eaten up. Girlfriend and Son are having pizza. I may have pizza too or I may just have a hamburger. It is raining and there's a front going through and my body is blaming me personally for it. Bleah.
I made onion rings last night and had them with hamburgers today. They were tasty, but not so tasty that I want to have them again immediately, which is good because they are a fiddly annoyance to make. (We all like the breaded and crumbed kind.) I want onion rings about once every four months or so...and now I've had them and I'm good.

I hit A&W for 500 Cal when I get the urge! Thankfully not too often!!!!2

Splatty McSplatt's status is....still stiff and sore! I have numerous bruises and scrapes, but the worst by far is the saucer-sized livid aubergine bruise directly over my coccyx. It's too painful to sit and only marginally better to lie down...luckily walking is fine, which is just as well because I've had two days off the bike and my only exercise has been walking (I've managed 16000 steps a day). Tomorrow I'm doing a gentle 30km turbo ride just to ease myself backinto the saddle...
We both loved Monday's experience and both of us are looking forward to doing it again...but I may invest in extra padding in my shorts before I next launch myself at speed off the back of the bike to bounce along stony ground on my tailbone....
Still, can't complain! I'd take a bruised coccyx over recurrent shingles any day! Feel better soon, Connie!
Glad you enjoyed your holiday, Yooly!5 -
Bruised Coccyx could be a great name for a band!2

Sorry peeps! Pardon mebeing MIA… just not well at the moment with headaches, high BP, joint issues and flat out exhaustion … in fact a bl**dy miserable g*t …. Normal service will be resumed!2
-
OMG @conniewilkins56 … just read that …how awful …shingles in adults can be very painful …Hope you feel better soon 💕1

I prefer all of my cocc sounding parts to remain safe and sound!3

Off to the grocery store and the pharmacy today. And then on to the precooking and putting things in order.4

*gentle hugs* to all those with injuries or illness.
I am just tired. Feeling okay. Mood is okay. But I have been exhausted the last couple of days. Thinking the weekend insanity and projects may have worn me out more then I originally believed. I have been sleeping really well, but I just stay tired. My body is so fatigued I have not been able to do as much walking as I would like. It's frustrating.3 -
That sounds very frustrating, Athijade. Hopefully the fatigue lifts a little. Soon.2
-
Let's include @Athijade in the gentle hug category.
Alexandra I'm sure that this is the reason I prefer the A&W over other fast food places.
Interesting to note that they estimate twice the number of calories per ring than the large ring estimate from the NCCDB. That's because they have an awesome seasoned breading... NOT to be eaten more than once in a while.
And no, they don't count as 🐇, just as 🐹🤣2 -

I understand exactly how you feel….I am just so tired…I feel exhausted and I can’t seem to shake it….if I increase my antidepressants I sleep more and feel like a zombie…thinking about our upcoming trip and riding in the car and socializing with a few hundred people is overwhelming…I just want to crawl into a dark cocoon and isolate myself….sigh2 -
I'm not even under the weather and the thought of socializing with a half dozen people would overwhelm me, let alone a few hundred.
All you peeps who are going through the wringer at the moment need to be really gentle on yourselves and do whatever you can to minimise any extraneous demands. Chill and heal....3 -
Me and my sore coccyx managed a 40km turbo ride this morning, so that's progress.
And my husband has bought me a solo skydive for my birthday. My first solo jump, so I'm beyond excited. It's not until September, but I already can't wait...Tandem jumps are fantastic, but the thought of a solo jump takes the pleasure to a whole 'nother level. Whoop, whoop. Gotta love that man, he sure knows the way to a gal's heart.4 -
Sounds so exciting, Bella!2
-
Holy crap Bella! 😱 Jumping out of planes. I admire those who can but I find life scary enough without pushing my luck. I couldn’t even look over the guard rail at the Grand Canyon without getting queasy.2
-
Yooly, nothing even comes close to the experience. I'd urge everyone who doesn't suffer from fear of heights to do at least one in their lifetime. Sheer exhilaration when you're plummeting towards the ground with the wind roaring in your ears, followed by an almost religious silence and peace once the parachute opens...nothing compares!
I'd jump all day every day if my budget stretched to it...oh, to win the lottery...
2 -
Nope - no plummeting no where for me. Too old for that exhilaration. 😲2
-
Splatty... I sincerely do hope you only prove to be splatty in SOME situations but NOT all!!!!!1

Fear not Pav, it's much more dangerous to cycle on the public highway than it is to do a skydive run by a reputable club.
Though now I think on it, the first dive I did my fellow novice screwed up the landing and bounced on her tailbone and had to be carted off to hospital. Funny, I hadn't thought of her in years, until I landed on my own tailbone on Monday, and finally appreciated how painful it was...and my bounce was only from the height of my bike saddle!3 -
Ha!….I do good to ride inside an airplane!….if my husband gave me this gift I would have him arrested for attempted murder!….you are a brave woman!3
-
It’s not brave if it’s your idea of heaven.
Bravery is fearing something and doing it anyway.4 -
I am not weighing this weekend.
I have been too fatigued to do much of anything, much less work out and cook. Been going to be about 8:30pm and sleeping through to my alarms. Just been eating whatever I crave, which is bad for my health and for my wallet.
Thinking next week I just need to keep meals super simple with no stress. Salads for lunch. Boiled eggs and mini bagels for breakfast (cause I have a ton of bagels left from this week). Dinners? I just don't know yet. Maybe my hibachi bowls because I really enjoy those. I also have some turkey hots dogs in the freezer so maybe those.4 -
Back to the gym this morning. It wasn’t bad after nearly two weeks off for vacation. The hip pain is minimal so the steroid shots seem to be working. 👍3
-
I went back to the dermatologist this morning and he said I was looking better…I am still very tired, achy, and itchy…3
-
Glad for the good report, Connie. How long does this type of flareup tend to last?
I hope it is the steroids - not the two weeks away from the gym! I'm at that stage now, almost 7 months post surgery - trying to figure out what is beneficial - and what is just aggravating a still somewhat messed up shoulder.2
