Well I just had two days in a row where the scale showed 155 which I hadn't seen since the late summer of 2022 in the early days of the parental's move towards the coast.

I admit to not being unhappy about that. That being the 155, of course🤣😇

Woohoo Mr. PAV! Time to bust out the skinny pants. This just proves you CAN maintain weight loss if you stay in the game.

Well hold on there sparky! That was not "standard" maintenance. I think that by the time we get close to 15lbs we're dealing with a definite oopsies and correction, right?

The operative words there were "summer of 2022".... so it looks like I peaked close to 170 by late August/ early September 2023. So about +15lbs in a year and then -15lbs in a year.

While objectively it looks like the increase was July 2022 to September 2023 and the decrease has been September 2023 to July 2024, I can guarantee you that the increase took less concentration and felt faster than the decrease! ;)

And, of course, we all know that because I wrote that yesterday it is +1lb today!!!

Might change my online name to Sparky? Once had a dog named Sparky. 😂

But seriously- I think what you do is maintenance. It’s allowing for life changes and not totally forgetting the need to manage weight.

My weight is still higher than I’d like. In the past I’d have just moved on and continued to eat too much and buy larger clothes. I may not be in total control right now but am AWARE. I’m not gaining more.

Congrats Nic! Wish I could be making progress too.

We’re having visitors from Florida in two weeks who must be fed and entertained. Daily salads won’t do. And the cruise to Alaska is looming in less than a month. I hope much walking will mitigate the inevitable gain?

I’ll comfort myself with the thought that I seem to do better when the chaos of summer and cooler weather arrives. Hope that holds true……

I know it's true for Yooly and you will do fine if you remember that you are eating because you're hungry and need nourishment not because you're trying this or that or are entertaining your taste buds or venting emotions. And you can always have more later if you're hungry

As to ms overweight: i also bet you have more muscle than your average overweight cat so I bet you're feeling pretty good about yourself!!!

    I probably do, yeah.

At this point I can stand sidelong to the bathroom mirror and grab the amalgam of flabby fat and loose skin that is my belly/panniculus and see what my frame ought to look like.

Looked over my year long weight trend. I was surprised to see that basically my weight has been stable +-4 pounds for the entire year. And truly without much conscious effort. Just day to day better choices?
This is not to say the battle is won. I would dearly like to lose more weight BUT just being stable is a big victory for me.

It for SURE is. Especially if you can get a double gold star by doing it without having to "hang on for dear life"!

It's been 2+ weeks, but I'm down to 196. Given my caloric intake, there should be more loss than that. Who the heck knows, lol

Sometimes your body just needs a period of adjustment? But it is frustrating!

I really hate that the less I weigh, the less I can eat to maintain the loss. And my ravenous brain needs time to accept reality.

Well with my bariatric plan, I am set for 745 calories daily and I stick to it, with 90+ g of protein.

So I made the mistake of weighing in the minute I got home. Seven whopping pounds up in ten days. I’m assuming there’s a lot of processing in transit not to count my swollen feet and ankles! There will be mindful eating, lots of water to flush out salts and maybe a nap or two. Right now it’s mountains of laundry to do. 😩

Down two pounds this morning. Hoping for more tomorrow as the water weight gets peed out. Anyway I hope it’s only water! 💦

And of course, much more careful eating now that I’m home.

Numbers going down. I think the real damage from the cruise is about three pounds. It’s doable but annoying!

Yup - lost all but 3 pounds of cruise gluttony. So now it’s time to get serious 🧐

After 2 weeks of bouncing between 192 and 196 (192.2 was my most recent low on September 9th), I finally got some loss.

    190.6 yesterday, 186.8 yesterday. BMI 27.6

I am. It was so frustrating to watch my weight bounce around but not drop when by all the laws of physics and thermodynamics, it should be dropping. Ah well. I haven't been this small since high school.

Pre-cruise numbers this morning. Still higher than last year but maybe I can work it out before the holiday feasting begins? 🫣

    Blah!
I'll have to figure out numbers sometime soon!

Especially because since August 30 Fitbit TDEE has stopped syncing correctly with crono. Looking through the numbers today, I think that I've determined that the discrepancy is a constant 578/579 Cal a day, in which case I should be able to adjust!

I had dipped back down to my "target" range of 155lbs by mid august but by mid September I was hitting the 158's.

Of course, I would never be silly enough to step on a scale the morning after a plane ride. But had I, perchance and accidently, stepped on one I am fairly sure it would have said 161lbs :astonished:

So the chocolates and nuts I came back with will probably have to be managed a bit more aggressively than I would like!!!!! :anguished:

    181.6 this morning.

This new weight tips me past the "I have lost half my bodyweight" point.

    Starting weight: 364.4 (8/29/23)
    Goal weight range: 150-155

I have my 1yr surgery follow-up on 11/15. I hope to be 170ish by then. 169 is where I reach "normal" BMI.
