i remember some time back we lost power (it actually happens a fair bit where we are) but this one time, in particular it had gone out in the middle of the night. it was before we were married, and before hubby had even moved to the states, so it was on one of his weekends down.

he had gotten up before me, and right as I was starting to wake up, he came in and goes ' dont get up. the powers out. I'm going to go find you coffee'

That was the moment when I knew that his man understood what the priorities were and how things would have to be for the rest of his life.

And that is how we have a happy marriage.

    LMAO

Since for some reason I sympathize with your poor fellow Canuck hubby (zing! :hushed::heartbreak:), I will save him!

A 1500VA UPS should be able to reliably brew a pot or two during a blackout! I suggest a beafier UPS because of the high initial load the heating of the water will place on it; but you can certainly play the "try before you buy" game and check out some less expensive units on the way up to the final one!

we have a generator now. Just a small one. But it will run a coffee pot, phone chargers, and a fan or space heater (depending on season LOL)

ive been drinking coffee literally since i was a child. even though back then it was more milk than coffee LOL

i log 4 cups, but its really 2 that fit in my travel mug. just like my creamer is way over logged. but it does cover if i DO have more. its rare I do but sometimes. and i figure helps cover logging errors elsewhere....my creamer is my one absolute non negotiable calorie indulgence. it comes before anything else. always has, always will LOL

That's what I say about my MIL - she did a great job with both her boys. She raised them to be kind, loving, patient and thoughtful men. Both hardworking homebodies, who love their home and family and don't have roving eyes. Both supportive and generous-spirited. They both buy and beautifully wrap lovely, thoughtful gifts for all their loved ones, without prompting or without delegating the task to their spouse. Both will stoically traipse around shopping malls and sit outside changing rooms for hours, saying 'Yes, it looks lovely but I preferred the red one seventeen dresses back....'

When you come across a man like that you have to snap him up quick and hang onto him tight. And thank the woman who raised him to be such a wonderful husband. I've been with mine 32 years now and appreciate him more every day.

well, gifts from my husband are rare (though very well chosen, I will say, when he does get them) and he could not care any less about what I wear, but he is hardworking and loyal, and his world revolves around me (and mine, him). He literally gave up his entire world for me (moved to a whole new country, even). I was in a really really bad marriage for close to 20 years. About as bad as they come. And this, I imagine, is as GOOD as they come. And I thank the heavens, every single day, that for all the times I tried my HARDEST to get him to go away and that I tried to blow him off.... he just kept popping back up. LOL ( i never blocked him because he wasnt doing anything block worthy- just being friendly. never creepy or weird. just friendly. over and over and over) LMAO

Lest I forget where I am....

The last puppies I had were the Guardians, who are only 4 months apart. And as a breed (Great Pyrenees), even as puppies, they were pretty chill and laid back, even Hagrid who is a little more high strung than Holly. They had, and still have their moments (Clash of the Titans is fun at 4am you know), but all in all, pretty chill. Even with TWO puppies at the SAME time.

But OMG Dobby. This dog, y'all...
(Dobby is a 5 month old English Setter)

He is like the Tasmanian Devil on Speed with a Red Bull IV drip. hes asleep right now. re-charging, as I call it. twitching. tweaking out. like a heroin addict.

If I make it through this puppyhood it will be a miracle.

    Maybe I should re-phrase that.

If HE makes it through this puppyhood it will be a miracle....

How many days till the RibRun? I need a break from this creature....
(Friend of mine is hosting a 5K in alabama next month and holly is the official mascot. I am not running. I do not run. The only thing I run is out of patience)

oh god. his eyes are open.

@callsitlikeiseeit We had an English Setter who sounds just like Dobby. Don't worry, he calmed down around about his 11th birthday and was then pretty chilled for his remaining 4 years. You just need to hang in there!

    I LOVE Great Pyrenees!

we had a rescue one and she was crazy but only outside. inside she was chill. she was 4 when we got her. she ran outside literally sun up till sun down. but would come when we called her.

dobby does not have that freedom. we have more land fenced in now (about 4 acres fenced fully and another 6 partially but he cant go there since its not complete- hopefully by the end of the year it is) but even in the fenced pasture - it adjoins the house- i dont like to let him loose cause all he wants to do is chase the livestock and poultry. Spent 20 minutes trying to catch the demon. he slipped out the back door is the only reason he was out there. usually i take him out front on the long 50' lead to let him potty and run and tumble with our jack russell (Who doesnt have to be on a leash)

Hello? I'm a Canadian looking to buy drugs from the US????🐹🤷🏻‍♂️

Apparently I have a dog diagnosed with IBD and a vet clinic that thinks this will turn into an $840 a month drug paycheck.

The vet clinic has already received an email informing them that the dog's budget requires individualized prescriptions for generic drugs that can be shopped for elsewhere!

Online pharmacies? Cheap Polish drugs? Call-z-ies, do you medicate the animals????🤷🏻‍♂️

I do medicate my animals LOL

last night I was wishing i had some xanax to give dobby. I was about to get the benadryl by the time he finally settled down LMAO

what meds is he on? or rather, need to be on? i know here, pharmacies will fill prescriptions for animals. much cheaper than vet. Some stuff you can get WITHOUT a prescription, even if they give you one.

Let's just say that my backside is hurting a bit...

I realize that this is the specialist center where the internal medicine specialist lives and all that... I've already once orally asked her to split the prescription between available via human pharmacy and *HAS* to be filled at the vet's.... she ignored...

So now I've sent it to them in writing: "Dear Dr. DRNAME, I regret to inform you that DOGNAME has to choose between paying for her next follow up visit with you, or continuing to fill her prescription at your internal pharmacy. If you would be kind enough to provide prescriptions, for generic drugs where possible, she may be able to reduce her monthly costs sufficiently so that she can afford to continue to be able to see you in person and receive the quality care only you can provide"

This is for 30 days (CAD 840+ after taxes = US 671): 33nni4iv0lpn.png

    Wow.
    That is really daunting, PAV.
In my neck of the woods, I can pick up quite a few different drugs - just outside my door. But none of them sound like what Sky needs.
They might make you feel a bit better about looking at this list though.

Sorry for the disagree Laurie  but I am staying as far away as I can from some of the drugs that are available outside your door... or other places that don't require a plane ticket... just looking for the ones for Sky!
