[/b]Hello, everyone! I am Miyoka, from Brooklyn.
I started MFP at 158lbs in February of 2012 to support a friend and to lose 20lbs. I lost 23lbs during that time.
After reaching my goal, I took a hiatus from MFP. I was a dancer, so I felt I would be fine. I stopped dancing in 2016 (started back this year) and from 2016-2019 I gained 56lbs! I did not even see it coming to be honest. Despite the fact, I was not active and I was eating an entire pepperoni pie sometimes. I just assumed I would never gain weight, but I never thought to weight myself. I was unhappy. After, going shopping one day and feeling absolutely devastated, I decided to order a scale and BAM! The truth was there. I needed to make some changes. I started dieting, fasting, juicing, but I was inconsistent. I was too ashamed to dance, bc I had to buy new clothes. I did not even really know what to do in the gym and I was just depressed.
In May, I re-downloaded MFP I’ve been bouncing around in the 180s since. Until last month, I had a serious sit down with myself. I love myself and I know I can do this and I will. I lost 12.6 lbs in August and I am determined to do the same this month. It’s my birthday month, so I am going to be very cautious of what I’m putting in my body during my month of celebrating. My weigh in day is Monday, was 198.7 last Monday, so am down 3lbs
Walked - 1.25 miles this morning with my husband and dogs in TX 86% humidity, still getting.
Planning to swim laps today.
Miyoka, hope you are back to dancing! It is a great from if exercise. You made me think of how much I love Zumba stopped because of an Achilles’ tendon issue may have to try again this month.3 -

Comments: Decided to go exploring down a trail this morning. Yesterday, I had seen a makeshift skate/BMX ramp on some large boulders by the river and had seen two more boulders partially hidden nearby. Today, I checked those out and found a trail, so I took the trail to see where it would lead. Also, while I love the fact that I can go for much longer periods of time without feeling like I need to take a break, I should be more conscious of my activity level and take breaks so I don't get overheated.1 -
