I'm glad I listened to my body on Thursday too. I was so tired, I'm sure it was from all the OT I was doing. Yes, once I got into work with the bright lights I was fine. I did miss volunteering with those little kids though.
@ljdanny
Great idea on putting some money away to help with motivation. I used to do that too. I should start doing that again. I don't need to do it for exercise though. I'd have to do it for the fruits and veggies.
@amytriesww
Enjoy the time with your family. Also, hope your surgery goes well.
@Freeglerock
Thanks! I'm trying not to make the same mistakes I have in the past with weight loss, even though I have a little but not as much as in the past. I need to finally get all the weight off and keep it off. It's hard work but we all need to keep keep working at it. It may take some time but we"ll all get there.
@Cafelelia
Thanks! The OT is hard but the extra pay is nice. There will probably be more OT next week and then it should slow down a little over Christmas. I do have some time off during that week so that will be nice.
@Mrsbell8well
My "big bucks" are pretty much spoken for. I'd love to put it in my savings account but it's going to a payment on my car repair bill, car payment, property tax bill and training sessions at the gym.4 -
@kirsten11872
Great loss!
@Mrsbell8well
Your house looks great! Love the fireplace and Lulu Mae looks pretty comfortable.😃 The loaves of bread look wonderful!
@Cafelelia
Sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope you feel better soon! I did have a busy week with the OT. You're right I do need to focus more on what I have accomplished and not look so mu h at what I haven't done. Something else I still need to work on.4 -
Last photos of the day:
2000 piece puzzle finished.
36 loaves finished. 9 different recipes.
Orange bread. This is the one bread we ended up eating tonight. Which is interesting since it’s the one bread with no sugar. Has apple sauce, flax eggs and chia seeds. Yummy warm with vegan butter.5 -
These breads/cakes/loaves are Christmas gifts for co-workers, friends, my boss, mailman, neighbors, sanitation workers and anyone else we need a gift for. Our family will keep one of each kind. We’re so excited to taste all of them. I did dishes all day and Skylynn did the baking. Roles have switched. I am now the assistant baker. Thanks for all the sweet compliments and support.
Tomorrow we wrap presents and take Lula Mae for a walk.
Here’s what we made: chocolate peppermint, eggnog with rum glaze, gingerbread with orange glaze, almond, coconut with coconut rum frosting, ginger orange almond, orange, cranberry orange.
All of them are vegan.
@cyndiesstuff I have always said how helpful it is to reach out and ask for support. You can do this. Very proud of you.
Have a great weekend everyone!4 -
Rough couple of days due to TOM being particularly snarky. Bring on menopause 🙏 LOL... so over this monthly inconvenience. I see I missed lots of great posts. Don't want to skim over them so will catch up with you all tonight.
Baking a pumpkin pie this afternoon and the house smells so festive. I’m making Skinnytaste’s baked scallops recipe tonight along with some sauteed asparagus & mushrooms and maybe some rice. May not be enough to fill hubby up, thus the pie...
We received a couple of inches of snow this morning. I took the dogs for a hike despite nasty cramps. We managed 4 miles. It was so refreshing to be out in the forest.
Walking in a winter wonderland...

@nstephenson01
Sorry you're having a rough time. Hope you feel better soon. I'm not a fan of asparagus or mushrooms but mmm, the pumpkin pie sounds wonderful. 4 miles! That's great! Bet the dogs loved that! That's a beautiful picture!1 -
Saturday 12/14 check in
Food: logged and little over the high end of my calorie range
Water: 56 oz
Exercise: none
We got out of work a little after 4:30 this morning so that was nice. I ended up with 14 hours of OT for this week. After I got home, I ate something and then went to sleep for a while. After I got up I went out Christmas shopping for my great nieces. We haven't exchanged gifts for a long time since we were just giving things to give them. Since everyone is well over 18 years old and has good jobs, if we want something all of us are able to go out and get that item. I'm making an exception for those two new little people in our family.🥰
I picked up the grilled chicken dinner I like and this time also ordered dessert. (wasn't planning on that part, it just sounded really good) I'm surprised I wasn't that far outside my calorie range even with the pie. I'm still trying to figure out how to make the macro part work. I'll eventually get that right. My trainer did say to work more on the protein part.
I was still kind of tired so I decided to nap for a while. I set my alarm for 6pm, (which would have made for a 2 hour nap), planning on watching a movie while getting my laundry done after getting up. I was charging my phone while I napped so it wasn't right next to me. I woke up shortly before 9:30 pm.☺️ I either didn't hear the alarm go off or I slept through it.🙄 Good thing I didn't have anywhere to be tonight.
I still have over 200 pages to finish my book for book club on Tuesday so I think I'll read a little while before bed. I"ll deal with the laundry tomorrow. I don't really feel like taking care of it now anymore.

@Mrsbell8well
I was going to ask what you were going to do with all those loaves of yummy looking bread. Wow! What a nice idea to give them as gifts!
I bet you're tired of doing dishes. How nice that you are now the assistant baker and Skylynn did the baking.3 -
Saturday 12/14 check in
Food: didn't log and probably over with alcohol
Water: 64oz
Exercise: 20 min on stationary bike, PT and stretching
I actually did great with eating but not so good with drinking. I got a lot done during the day but had to cut my exercise short because of it. I have had a good week with exercise so I think 20 min was good for one day. Shannon's graduation was nice. It was only 45 minutes so that made it even better! We had a nice dinner after with everyone but William who in Houston. We went to the bar after, that is where I went over. I stayed on plan at dinner but wasn't expecting to go out after. It was fun and I didn't drink a lot but way more calories than I should have had. Talking about role reversals. We live about a mile from the bar. Jim went home earlier and I was going to get an Uber home. Shannon and my niece wouldn't let me go in an Uber by myself. I ended up in my niece and her boyfriend's Uber since I was along their route. I thought that was cute. I am usually the one worrying about them. Today I will workout and then I am going to start decorating the trees. We have two. I will at least do the lights. I think that is the hardest. I also have some cleaning to do. I also need to plan out this next week. Christmas will be here before we know it! Have a great day everyone!
@kirsten11872 Your hard work showed on the scale this week! Great job!
@Mrsbell8well Those look so yummy! I would want to try them all Lol! I think it is so cute that you are giving them in the loaf pan too. I love that Skylynn is now the baker. You taught her well.
@Cafelelia I hope you feel better soon . With all that has been going on, I am not surprised you all are not feeling well. You are probably run down too. I am glad your husband is taking over the hockey duties so you can get some rest. Thanks for doing the challenge this week. I think it is going to be a great one!!
@nstephenson01 Ugh! Hope you are feeling better soon. I am super impressed you went for a 4 mile hike in the snow feeling like that! It looks so beautiful! Dinner sounds so delicious. I hope it was as good as it sounded!
@tryingagain5 It must have been fun to shop for the little ones. I hope the mandatory OT is over for a little bit. I was thinking, do you log on MFP? They figure out how much protein, fat and carbs are in your day. If you log for the day and hit nutrition it will show a little graph. It is not a detailed view but it gives the percentages. It may be good to log a little and see where you are at and then tweek it with adding and cutting back where you need to.5 -
I liked my outfit so I had Jim take my picture lol! I really like my high boots but you can't really see them.

Saturday check in
Food - logged and on target
Exercise - 5 k steps
Water - 2 l
Even though I did not feel well, I decided to go out last night for dinner with my husband and our neighbours. It was really nice to relax and get away from it all for a few hours. We went to one of the bistros that I like that has healthy choices on the menu. I had an Irish coffee at the end of the meal, which I don’t normally do. It was so nice, especially this time of year.
Our challenge is up. It is not obligatory, but if you want to do it, you can post or not post. If you are posting, feel free to post here or on the Week 3 challenge thread.
Congratulations to our wonderful team for coming in second this week both in lbs and % lost!!!!
Congratulations to @kirsten11872 for coming in 3rd in % lost and to @DanielleInProgresss for the honourable mention!!
We are all winners in choosing to focus on our health and fitness!!
@sleepymom5 - What a nice day yesterday! Pam, honestly, you look amazing!! Love your daughter’s photo as well!!
@tryingagain5 - Great day yesterday! I agree with Pam that the food track has tools to help you with macros if you are focusing more on that. You can experiment with it to see if it works for you.
@nstephenson01 - Hope that you are feeling better today! The meal that you made sounds so good! I love Skinnytaste. Your photo is so lovely! That must have been such a nice walk!
@mrsbell8well - What an accomplishment yesterday! Those loves look so delicious! You need to let us know which one is your favorite! What a great gift idea if you are a baker!2 -

Thank you, I was very happy with that loss! Yeah, so far I haven't been too crazy with thw free foods cause I'm still figuring out what they are, lol. But I have been dipping into the weekly points a little too much, so I need to watch out with that.

Not a very big loss, but last week was over a 4lb loss AND I was on my period this week, so I'll take it!4 -
Cute outfit @sleepymom5! Your daughter looks so happy!
@cafelelia glad you had a nice night. I bet it was a welcome break. No doubt the Irish coffee helped your sore throat. Hope you and your boys feel better soon. And yes, good hair makes things just a little bit better.
@Mrsbell8well Those loaves look scrumptious! How fun to be assistant baker for a change. Do you tell recipients that they are vegan? I bet its fun to see their surprise. And yes, I have maintenance nailed LOL. I won't reach goal this month but I will in 2020 and its nice to know maintaining the loss shouldn't be such a struggle.
@tryingagain5 I look forward to following your journey with the macro "challenge" provided by your trainer. The idea of macros is interesting to me.
@hope002 Fantastic transformation. What a difference 20 pounds makes!!
@kirsten11872 Nice loss. All your hard work and consistency paid off. Keep it up this week
Welcome to Onderland @amytriesww! Sorry about the UTI... hope you were able to get some relief.
@cyndiesstuff Nice to hear from you! Hope you continue to check in when you can.
Oooh it finally stopped snowing. Need to get the dogs out for a walk. Gotta run. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.3 -
Loaves are wrapped ready for delivery.
Skylynns favorite was coconut. Molly Almond pound cake, mom and I ginger, almond orange cake. Skylynn and Molly tried all of them. Mom and I still have 3 more to test out. After finishing all my work I ended up sick. Ugh. Sore throat and headache. I have not been sick in over a year. Determined to be done with this by tomorrow. Skylynn and I got all the Christmas presents wrapped. And I wrapped all of Skylynns birthday presents. Her birthday is Tuesday she will be 10.
I have been resting all afternoon. Actually I was up at 3:30 am since my throat was hurting. Got up and cleaned the fridge and wrapped the breads. I was non stop till I went back to bed at 8:30.
I had to terminate someone on Friday that I really liked. It was so sad and difficult but it was the right decision. Mom was bleeding yesterday worried she was going to end up in hospital but better today. My weight seems to be stabilizing the last week. Hovering near goal. I feel very blessed but also very watchful of the old folks. Mom has been talking a lot about what’s going to happen when she dies. The cycle of life. Trying to stay present and appreciative of the moment.
I will respond more to your posts tomorrow.5 -
I am not a big challenge person, but I will be posting every evening here and on the Week 3 challenge thread for the 20 for 2020 challenge. Sunday is about looking back at the past year. I finally got my 20 minutes tonight. It is not a lot of time, but every day is busy so getting 20 uninterrupted minutes is a challenge, especially this time of year. In my look back at 2019, my one feeling is being grateful. I am so grateful from my kids, husband, family and friends, and for all of our blessings. I am grateful for the health that I have and for the fight in me to recover from my leg injury. I am grateful for this community and for the unquestioning support that I get here. I am getting close to goal weight, but I get so much more from everyone here than just the weight loss. 2019 was a year of many twists and turns for me. I made so much progress in my health and fitness journey. More importantly, 2019 was a year that made me focus on what matters. I am grateful to our Weight No More family for supporting me through the year.6

I don't really use MFP to track food. Since I give my food journal to my trainer every week it works better to just write it out with pen and paper. That way he can look at it while I'm doing the exercises(also, when I started with him, I didn't have a smart phone.) I did check and the app had different macros set up than the trainer suggested for me. I'm doing fairly well sticking within the calorie range, just not getting the macro part right. Since I haven't done this very long I guess it will just take some time to get used to.4 -
Sunday 12/15 check in
Food: logged and on track
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 15 minutes low intensity at home
I had dinner with my dad today and after that I slept most of the afternoon. After I got up I made a veggie dish for a potluck at work on Tuesday morning break. It's broccoli, cauliflower, grape tomatoes and Italian dressing all mixed together. It needs to marinate for a while so it's best to make it the day before.
Last week I told my trainer about all the get togethers I have this week. Tuesday at work, Tuesday night at book club, Saturday night with my family. He looked at me and asked what he always tells me so I gave him the answer: "enjoy yourself but don't go too far overboard" I can't control what the others bring but can with what I bring. That's why I made the veggie dish for work. (I've made it for work before and they really like it). Tuesday night I'm bringing a veggie tray and my sister asked me to bring a veggie tray for Saturday so at least I know there will be one healthy option at each gathering.5 -
@sleepymom5
It was fun shopping for the little ones. So many fun toys out there now. I'm the person who likes to play with the toys when they say "try me". It's always fun to make the music, sirens, etc go off on the toys.☺️ Josie will just be 7 weeks old at Christmas so she won't even know what's going on. Harper is 10 months old so she will be able to see what's going on but is still too young to understand completely.
There will most likely be some OT this week too, should be voluntary this week but I'm not sure if I"ll say yes every time. I guess it will depend on how I feel when I'm asked.

I am so tired. I will check in tomorrow. Have a good night!
@DanielleInProgresss Nice loss! Hope all is going well and things settle down for you soon!
@Cafelelia Sounds like you had a nice night. With all that you have been through it was good that you and your husband got out and had fun. This challenge is awesome! Thank you so much for doing it this month.
@CassieGetsFit2013 Nice loss! I am glad that WW is working for you!
@Mrsbell8well The bread looks so pretty. The recipients will be so happy. I hope you are feeling better soon. What a bad time of year to get sick. I hope your mom is doing better too.
@tryingagain5 Good idea to bring healthy options to your holiday parties. That will make things a little easier for you. You have been doing well even with night shifts, OT and your busy schedule. You are going to do great this holiday season!

Sunday Check in
Food - logged and on target
Exercise- 7500 steps
Water - 1.5 l
Happy Monday everyone! Yesterday, my younger son wanted to go choose our Christmas tree, which he has done every year since he was two. He follows the same process every year in which he walks into the Christmas tree lot, does a quick look around and then goes to the tree that he “feels” is ours. He followed his tradition this year and it just warmed my heart. Even the big, lumberjack Christmas tree guy was moved. The tree is beautiful and we had a lot of fun decorating it. So finally, the Christmas spirit has arrived in my house and in me! A photo of the tree is below with my younger son doing his traditional “elf” dance. Another thing he invented. I have kept every single crafty decoration that the kids ever made, so we have quite melange of ornaments on the tree!

He is adorable! And the tree is beautiful. All my Christmas trees are outdoors right now, and they all got a good coating of fresh snow yesterday. They were so beautiful! Sadly the wind kept up all night and most of it blew off! We're not having an indoor tree this year, but we live surrounded by all kinds of conifers, so we're making do with those beauties instead of cutting one down to bring it in.3 -
Sunday 12/15 check in
Food: started logging but went off plan and over
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: PT and stretching
I actually had a pretty good day. Decided early that I would have a rest day so I just did PT and stretching. If I don't do that daily I feel it. I cleaned my bedroom and bathroom, did wash and then got one tree up and decorated and oversaw the outside decorations. I was exhausted by the time the day was over. I was hungry and had a little cereal. That lead to cookies. I was disgusted. I knew I shouldn't and I didn't care. This morning I was still so upset about doing it. I decided to write in my journal about it. Then I went back in my journal and read what I was thinking this time last year. I lost over 3 pounds in December. I usually gain a lot of weight in December. I was surprised to see I was struggling then too but stuck with it. Last night I felt I blew it and why bother but today I see that I can still have a loss or maintain in December. One overeat isn't going to ruin everything. I feel much better and focused. Today will be busy. I have another tree to decorate. It takes me a long time to decorate. At some point, someone is coming to fix my closet. This is the last thing I need but it is necessary. My closet collapsed last week. This morning I am going to have to empty it before they come and then put everything back. At least I will have a clean closet. I also have to start cooking dinner again. I am sick of just having chicken and salad. I am thinking of having turkey tacos. That would be easy. Tomorrow I am hoping to go food shopping, I can't put it off any longer. Oh well, everyone have a great day!
Challenge I always have trouble with setting goals. Reflecting on 2019, for the most part it went pretty well. I learned a lot about myself and my eating habits by reading and listening to podcasts. I have made many changes but I have so far to go too. I guess it is a good thing to always be working on yourself. I also had a few injuries that set me back with exercising. It started with a shoulder injury in the winter and then my hip and knee. I am starting to feel back to normal. I even noticed that I can walk at a quicker pace now. I did set a goal in November to do my PT exercises and stretch daily. I also set a goal to get more consistent with strength. I have done all of that. For 2020 I am going to start to challenge myself again (slowly) and get into a good routine with working out and strength.
@Cafelelia Your tree is beautiful and your son is the cutest! I wish I knew his process before I went for my tree. I always take so long Lol! I am glad that you all are starting to get in the Christmas spirit! It will be a bitter sweet holiday for you all this year.
@jugar Sounds like you are surrounded by beauty every day! I would love to be able to look out on that scene everyday!4 -
@Cafelelia oh that is just too precious! And I love the Elf dance lol! Reminds me of @cyndiesstuff and her celebratory dances. I am so happy you have found the Christmas spirit. especially when we have little ones. I was thinking this weekend about deaths this time of year, and so many people that get sick, snowstorms and icy weather...and here we are baking loaves for gifts, decorating our homes, hanging Christmas lights, buying gifts for others and wrapping festive presents. What a wonderful time of year. Christmas and everything it represents comes at a time when we all could use good cheer and thoughts of others.
Molly and I have a ritual too. We usually walk on to a lot and pick the first one we see lol. It takes us seriously about 5 minutes and we are always delighted with our choice.
@sleepymom5 Pam you look so young and beautiful! I love your outfit. So festive! And congrats on another graduate. You all are doing great!
@nstephenson01 I showed Molly your picture of the snow hike you did. We love snow and fantasize about living in a snowy area. I don't think that is going to ever happen. We get teased with snow forecasts but not enough snow for what we would like.
Challenge: 2020 I am planning to be more organized. I am trying to invent a combo of bujo and happy planner. Hoping to work on that Sunday. I would also like to be more eco friendly. I have been saddened to see all the harm of plastics in our oceans and landfills. I use recyclable grocery bags but still use plastic baggies. I am planning to buy some of those new reusable baggies next year. Health-I would really like to take this to the next degree. I have been reading up more on GERD which I was diagnosed with last year. I feel like I am at my healthiest ever but still not at optimal health. It can be confusing but I feel like my answers are out there. Would like to decrease my gluten intake. Just thinking about it makes me what to eat more gluten. We become so afraid of taking our freedom away from us. Just when we think we can't have something it makes us want it more.
Money-would like to curtail my spending (after I buy reusable bags) and start an aggressive savings plan to reach our emergency savings goal. And all of the above goes back to my planner. Planning is a key to my success. I always loved the old saying those who fail to plan, plan to fail. Or should I rephrase it...those who plan, plan to succeed!
Remind me who our "nut" person is? I have been thinking about you. Mom put a bowl of festive pistachios on her coffee table. She cannot eat them because of the salt. So I sit down there chatting with her like a squirrel. My mouth is full of nuts. It is so hard to stop once you start.
@Cafelelia thanks for you sweet words. I love being on this team and feel very lucky to be part of this friendship group. After I hit my goal I was hit and miss for a month or so. But now that I am back I feel like I am home. It was lonely without all of you. I am not sure I can survive with out my daily fix. It helps keep me centered.4 -
Monday 12/16 check in
Food: logged and way under
Water:64 oz
Exercise:10 minute warmup on the treadmill, 30 minute session with my trainer
I worked a 10 hour shift again last night. (I volunteered to stay)😁
We were told lady night that Christmas week would be a little different than was originally posted. We are now getting Sunday night, Monday night, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off and have to go back to work on Thursday the 26th and work Friday the 27th. It will be a 32 hour pay week unless you opt to use a vacation day. Friday is normally OT but this week it will be a make up day. I decided to save my vacation day for another time. I've worked enough OT to cover that day off. So once I'm off on Friday I will have a nice stretch if time off. Looking forward to that.
One of my book clubs did a cookie exchange this weekend. I wasn't able to make it but they put some together for me. I picked it up tonight and opened it when I got home. Looked so good! I wanted to sit down and eat one but knew if I started I'd probably eat the entire container (and there are a lot of cookies in it) I restrained myself and didn't eat any. I plan on taking it to my sister's house on Saturday.
I'll catch up on all the posts I missed tomorrow. Have a great night everyone!6
