Hello everyone & Happy Hump Day! Yesterday was rainy but warm. Today was cold with flurries, now the sun is out. This weather is crazy!

    Tuesday check-in:
    Food - logged & under
    Steps: 22,933
    Exercise: hour on the elliptical
Water: not sure, but had at least 8 glasses
Day 2 was a success! I went to the gym late, so I didn't finish eating until around 9:00, so I have to wait until around 1:00 to eat with IF. I have been drinking green tea, trying to hang in there for another hour, I am getting hungry!

@sleepymom5 Thank God everyone got home safe! The police officer that was killed was only 40 years old, he had 5 children and was heading a team to get illegal guns off the streets. So tragic! 3 innocent people were killed in the Jewish deli & the 2 gunmen were also killed in the deli. They are trying to figure out motive and if it was a hate crime. This world is a scary place!
Also, my good friend is going to the Christmas Spectacular today at the 11:00 am show. She took her daughter for her 13th birthday! Hope you enjoy! The weather cleared up & the sun is out!

@Cafelelia hope you are doing ok! Take your time catching up, it is understandable you are trying to get things back to normal for your family.

    @hope002 you look great!

@phoebe112476 that salad looks great! At least you have some healthy option! Glad your daughter is stable! Hope she is better soon!

@tryingagain5 sounds like you have a good plan!

I am going for a 3 day streak! I think I will be good today. I am planning on doing my dvd when I get home.

    Have a good day!

My trainer isn't a registered dietitian or nutritionist so he can't actually tell me I have to do this or that but he can make suggestions for me. He told me he can't legally make me eat certain things. I found that interesting but I assume it's because he didn't go to school/get a degree for the nutrition part of it.

He did some calculations based on my weight. Not sure where he got all the numbers from. He wants me to eat no less than 1700 calories with 191 grams of protein,(764 calories), 31 grams of fat (280 calories)and 164 carbs (656 calories). I think it's going to take me a while to get it right. I do trust him but also think I"ll talk with the registered dietitian from my walking group and see what she thinks. (She's got 12 years experience in it). I figure the more information I have the better.

    Wednesday 12/11 check in
Food: logged and just a little over on calories. Still figuring out the macros part.
    Water: 56 oz
Exercise: 30 minute session with my trainer, 30 minute walk with the community walking group

I worked a 10 hour shift last night, which means I'm short on sleep again today.🙄 They're trying to get as much out as possible this week so we don't have to work Friday night. (They have a rotating schedule and it's 3rd's turn) They're doing inventory on Saturday morning so they want as little on the floor as possible.

We didn't have very much overtime last year so I was getting more sleep then. I figure I better take it when I can get it. They do try to make it fair and go down the list. There are a handful of people that can't stay late, which does give me more chances.

@tryingagain5 you’re not where you want to be, but like you said, you could’ve gained all the weight back! You still have a few weeks to try to drop a few pounds before your appointment. You’ll get there!

    Wednesday 12/11 check in
Food: Didn't log but not too bad
Water: about 32 oz because of trip
Exercise: Walking around NYC, PT and stretching. Over 11K steps

I had so much fun yesterday. I really was at a point the night before that I didn't want to go. I still have a lot to do for Christmas and I just felt I should have everything done before I start. I am so glad I went. It was an awesome show. It is amazing what they can do on stages. I always think that with Broadway shows too. I didn't do bad eating at all. We had bagels and coffee when we got there Then a $6 truffle my friend got me (hard to over eat those Lol!) It actually was really good. The chocolates there were $112 a pound! and didn't have time to eat after. I also had a chocolate chip cookie and drink at the show. We didn't have time to eat after so when we got back I treated them to dinner at the bar. I had a turkey burger sliders and ate 2/3 and some fries. Shannon was working and ate my other slider and some fries. I didn't overeat there either but we did have a couple of drinks. Not as good as I should have been but not bad either. Today, I have to finish up and then figure out how I am doing with shopping and make a list. I have my family mostly done but I have to figure out who else I am buying for. I didn't even make my Christmas card yet. I was hoping to use wedding pics but they aren't done. I am thinking maybe I will send a New Years card. I need to decide that tonight too. Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great day!

    @Freeglerock Nice loss!!
@hope002 What a difference 20lbs makes! You look fantastic!
@kirsten11872 Great job! Three days under your belt! You really are doing great! That show is amazing! We had such a great time plus walking around wasn't bad at all. I have been there when its' been much colder. I didn't get my pizza, but I got a bagel at least lol!
@Cafelelia I am sure it is going to be a sad holiday season this year. My heart goes out to all of you. On another note, it is nice that people can see a difference in your weight. Sometimes it is hard to see day to day so when people who haven't seen you in a while notice it is a nice pat on the back!
@tryingagain5 Maintaining isn't a bad thing. It could be from that overeat or it could be from a number of other things. The important thing is you don't worry about it and continue on. Which you are doing. I love how you use all the resources you have available to you to make a plan. It is like you have your own little team! That is awesome! I know you didn't hit your goal but you have been doing well since you joined this team. I bet you will be at least where you were by your next doctor's appointment. It will also give you a little extra motivation to get you through the holidays. I am also happy that you are giving yourself credit for not gaining back all your weight. That shows that this time is different, you are going to lose this weight.

    Wednesday check in
Food - Logged, on track, but not great choices, 14 hours IF
    Water - 1l
    Exercise - 6k steps

I felt so burnt out yesterday, and I had the kids home due to a one day teachers’ strike. I took it easy. My brother lives a few blocks away, and surprised me with a visit and some coffee. That was so sweet. My best friend sends a lovely treat basket each year for Christmas. I received it yesterday, and had some candy corn. I stayed within calories, but I really feel it now when I do not eat healthy food. I guess that is a good thing. I have a bit more energy today, but really need to catch up on some sleep, hopefully this weekend. After I am caught up on my sleep, I will do a 24 hour fast to help me further with my energy levels.

@nstephenson01 - I am so sorry about TOM and the gain. But as you know, it is very cyclical. I just started menopause this year, and I have to say, I really do not miss TOM. I recall that I could gain 4 lbs in a week with water retention from TOM. My menopause symptoms are non-existent (for now at least) with the occasional hot flash when I eat unhealthy food. So by comparison so far, TOM was worse for me!

@sleepymom5 - So happy that you had a great time and did well with food too! I think that these outings are really important for us, and I hope to do more in the new year. I like the idea of a New Year card, and let us know what you decide.

@kirsten11872 - Way to go getting that workout in! Congrats!

@tryingagain5 - I echo Kirsten. You did not gain any weight back and that is a big accomplishment! Also you workout with your training regularly, so you are much stronger, in addition to your healthy eating. Many of us did not meet our weight loss goals this year, but you have a lot to celebrate and we are proud of you!!

@hope002 I love those pictures of you! You look beautiful!
@Cafelelia Happy to have you back. I am so sorry for your loss. It does make it hard through the rest of the holidays. Sounds like you had a good plan. nice visit with your brother too and a gift basket from a friend! Hope you manage to get the sleep that you need.
@sleepymom5 I would love to see the Rockettes and eat chocolate truffles! Sounds like you have a wonderful time and good job keeping your meals in check as well.
@kirsten11872 3 days is great. Just need to keep stringing those days along.
@tryingagain5 Great job getting the weight back off and not gaining it all back like most of us do. we will figure this out. maintaining our losses and adjusting to a new lifestyle is a big key to success. great job keeping off the past 40.
@nstephenson01 girl if you were in maintenance you would have it made. Your body just loves to stay between 165-168. Your doing something right! Not a bad place at all to be "stuck". And there is always next year lol.
@Freeglerock WTG! You have been doing such a great job with your plan!
@phoebe112476 how is your daughter doing? How remarkable to actually be able to eat real food in a hospital. That's progress. And progress to actually choose it!

Hello all! Happy Friday Eve!

Wednesday went well, 3 days & going strong! Today is day 4, it has been going well, food has been on point. I am going to the gym to do my hour on the elliptical. I will not be able to workout tomorrow, I have plans for my friend's birthday right after work, so I want to make sure I get it in tonight. The scale was down 2 more pounds this morning, down 5 since Saturday. I lost everything I gained last week. I am hoping to be able to drop another pound or 2 by Saturday.

4 day streak, so far, so good!

@Mrsbell8well I do not think I could run outside in this cold, I have a hard enough time going out in the cold to go to my car to drive to the gym, lol. The church nativity sounds so nice, enjoy! I hope you get a generous bonus, I wish we got bonuses, my company only gives bonuses to upper management.

    @Cafelelia thanks! I'm trying!

It is very cold here today, I know I am not going to feel like going back out once I get home to go to the gym, but I will! Sticking to my plan, getting results!

    Have a wonderful evening!

Yeah me!! I have been trying to watch my portions and exercise. I do have to work on my water. At the beginning of the year I was putting $1 in an envelope every time I exercised but I had stopped, I decided to start this back up for motivation. I'm up to $3. I need to really start measuring and logging everything. I saw a child at school today with his lunch in a mason jar, I said going to start doing that. We have a ton. So that way I'm ready for the week. I am going to try really hard to start getting up early even if I don't start this until the beginning of the year because not sure if it will work for a week then off for 1 1/2 weeks. Not saying I won't try though. If it doesn't work I do have my me time when I get home now that everyone is back to work. My granddaughter has been in childcare 1 week and is already sick. She was home yesterday with her mom and spent today with her other grandma. The joys of childcare.

Hi y'all! It's been a long week with finals and pre-op. The rest of December is going to be pretty hectic. I'll be traveling to northern Virginia this coming weekend and then Maryland the week after visiting family for the holidays. Then, I'll be home for Christmas and my surgery is scheduled for the 31st. Then, I should have a few weeks off until school starts again.

I was wondering if I would be able to weigh in on Saturday morning this week and Friday morning next week since I'll be away from home?

    I miss you guys.

I had a good day but I am pooped. I think I have a quiet day tomorrow morning so I will check in then. :)

@nstephenson01 That's ok, keep it going and you will have a good weigh in next week!
@Cafelelia With all that has been going on it is no wonder that you are so exhausted! You are probably both physically and emotionally spent. Rest up. It was nice that your brother stopped in for a visit with some coffee. Especially after this past week.
@Mrsbell8well I don't know about were you are but it seems like it has been raining or cloudy all week! It was awesome to see the sun today. I hope you enjoyed your run. Awesome job going 15 min on the rower. Remember when you started at 5 min! You are killing it!! That live nativity sounds like fun. I am sure your parents enjoyed it too.
@kirsten11872 You have had a great week! I am sure you will be happy at the weigh in Saturday! Enjoy your well deserved rest day and your friends BD tomorrow!
@ljdanny Yes! Yeah you!! Nice loss!! It sounds like you are doing really well. I like the idea of putting a dollar aside every time you exercise. Or maybe I should do it every time I don't eat after dinner...Hope your granddaughter feels better soon.
@amytriesww Guess you wont be relaxing now that finals are over lol! Hopefully most of the busyness is fun. Except the surgery of course. I just want to clarify about your weigh ins. Would you be weighing in this Saturday 12/14 for Sunday 12/15? And then weighing in 12/20 for 12/22? Let me know.
@tryingagain5 It is so hard to switch back and forth with night shift. I hope you were able to wake up once you got into work. I think it was good that you went back to sleep rather than do your normal routine. Some times our body needs more rest. Hope you have a good night tonight.

@kirsten11872 You are doing so well.  Such as great loss.  May I ask why you choose to do IF?  Do you find that not eating for a long period helps weight loss, or that it helps reduce calorie intake by only eating for a certain number of hours a day?

@cafelelia hope things get easier for you all.  But fab NSV - feels so good when people notice!

@tryingagain5 Your trainer sounds great.  Really interested to hear how the changing of the macros in you diet work for you.  Re 2019 - it is very positive that you stop yourself before reaching your previous weight.  My past weight loss has always ended up back on, my normal eating and exercise habits sit me generally at about 215-220lb, and that is always were I end back up to.  Hoping this time is different, though recognise that at some point the enthusiasm will wane or life will get in the way, but hope that like you I will stop before I go back to the starting point.  Your efforts are inspiring.

@sleepymom5 Have never heard of the Rockettes, I assumed they were a band.  But had a look at some you tube videos and they look amazing - I can imagine the show was spectacular and such a great way for getting into the Xmas season.  And well done for sensible food choices!

@Mrsbell8well Impressed with your rowing (especially on top of the running and yoga!).  And your Xmas prep!  The open nativity sounds lovely - have never seen such as thing.  Hope if was fun.  Great news on the bonus.  Ours does not get announced/paid until February (and dependent on the company profits as well as appraisals....)

@ljdanny What a great idea about the $1, I may try similar as I really need something to motivate me to exercise.  I have also been trying to get up earlier - but end up accidentally waking kids, so no extra me time :)
