This is a rough week, had to travel to city today and again tomorrow. Couldn’t exercise other than the six block walk to the the office and then back to car. I’m tired and want a big glass of wine. Feel a binge coming on, but instead of indulging I’m shutting it down for today. All I have to say is ugh 😩

@caloricus I am the same, I walk before work and weightlift after because I won't skip weightlifting but I will skip walking lol.1 -

I am going in the correct direction but I can't figure out why I can have one ice cream and gain 3 pounds yet when I work really hard at diet and exercise I lose only a fraction of a pound!
@Kin59vara there is so much at play, but it does seem so unfair.
I'm currently reading a book on just that exact thing and he talks about some of it and he's yet another doctor challenging the eat less move more idea that very clearly isn't working as a whole...and honestly something I have seen in my own body..intersting stuff. I'm eating more and finally losing weight again.... it's really interesting...
Hang in there... eventually diligence pays off. It's taken me years to drop 100 lbs. And I've gone through ups and downs and it's all normal.

@Kin59vara It's The Obesity Code by Jason Fung.
He talks about some really interesting research and he's a doctor that deals with weight loss and he specializes in weight loss and deals a lot with older patients, although he does work with patients of all ages also. Some of the studies he talks about are sort of mind blowing. I mean I knew he was really big on intermittent fasting and low carb, but I like that he really digs into why those really work...and it makes so much sense and it really explains why I have had so many issues losing weight myself because I will go through spells of losing a lot and then spells where I eat soooo much food and just can't stop....and not so much that I gain a lot of weight back but I will be up 10 lbs before I can get back to eating better and it's really crazy that he can explain it.....I mean skip ahead I know what he suggests for fixing that and I'm doing it now and seeing results again but I haven't finished the book yet, I saw a talk he gave at some conference and he sort of summarized the book and that made me want to actually read the book, and I did a free audible trial and I'm actually listening to the book instead of reading it. But now I kind of want to buy it, it's really informative and explains so much of what has happened to me and its really making me feel less crazy.2 -

Another 3 1/2 mile hike, this time w/ a different.🐕. I'm loving this weather for January. Crisp 32 degrees F. I know the other shoe is going to drop eventually, but I'll take all these days i can get! It's helping me with on track, too, because I'm out until after 5:00, get home, take care of the outside critters, my dogs, then myself. By then, I'm ready to settle in for the evening.1 -
