Hi Waistaways!👋🏼 Are you ready to make 2020 your best year yet?

Then help make that a reality by joining our Step Challenge. This challenge is among our team only (for now). All you have to do is let me know you want to participate, tell me what your daily goal is (mine is 8,000 steps), then report your steps to me right here on our January thread each day.

At the end of the week, I will give a report of total team steps and our top steppers. We even pretend our steps have taken us to fabulous places.

Please have all your steps in by 2pm Sunday ET. It is more motivating to see people’s steps coming in, so if it works for you to post daily, please do. Just be sure to include the word “steps”. Everyone is welcome and no worries if you’re just starting out. The point is for you to improve your steps.

So whether you look like the first photo or last, join the team. You won’t be sorry. 👣💪🏼😀

    Daily step goal: 7k.
    1/1: 2190
    1/2: 5481
    1/3: 5926
    1/4: 2734
    1/5: 2993

    On another note:
At Christmas both kids ended up with the flu (one after another), then the hubby ended up with upper respiratory infection and bronchitis, then I had/have a sinus infection and migraine for four days. I think this weekend all the caretaking finally caught up with me. I have done nothing but slept all weekend, and I am still tired. Although we have been taking ACV infused with Elderberry, it wasn’t cutting it. So I picked up regular Elderberry syrup and everyone is fully recovered. 😌Except my tiredness. 🥱😴

First weigh in and I already feel disappointed. I gained 4 pounds in Dec and hoped some of that would come off easier.

Folks, I can't tell you the last time I woke up on Monday losing even 1/2lb. I love my Sunday & Monday nacho mix & tortilla chips. I counted my chips yesterday which is soooo boring, but it worked. 😊

Hi Ann! Welcome and yes, this is indeed the place. Your weigh-in day is Friday, so that is the day you post your official weight for Week 1. Otherwise, please come in here any time, catch up on everyone's news, and let us know how you're doing, what is on your mind -- anything that will help keep you on track! It's a lively bunch, so checking in often will make it less difficult to read through everyone's posts

This is FANTASTIC! I know, I know - counting the blankety-blank chips is NOT fun. But that weigh-in afterwards puts the big smile on your face, doesn't it? Way to go!!!!

You are in the green! You might not think it is quick enough, but you know what? It probably won't bounce back up either. The MOST important thing is not to let your disappointment get you off track. This is only week 1! You're here for the long haul, right? Some weeks are like that.

The other morning, I woke up really early to the usual call of nature. I weighed myself, thinking - I'll go back to bed, get up again, pee again, and it will be even less! I thought this would be a good boost after the Christmas gain. Well, weirdly enough, the second weight was a 0.4 pound MORE than the first. Huh? How does that happen??

I'm telling that story so you remember that your weigh-in at that particular moment might have been a half pound or more off. We fluctuate a LOT. So don't worry - it's going in the good direction! Hugs to you

And more hugs flying to you @lovethyneighbor - a house full of flu really takes it out of you. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better - but keep resting! Sleep is the best medicine of all.

We have a REAL winter morning today. We got a good amount of snow over the weekend, and now it is really cold. My fave! I'll be out on the snowshoes later for sure :p If I were a dog, my tail would be swishing everything off the coffee table.

Welp I missed my weigh in yesterday - sorry. I’m 292.6

Also, a bit about me and why I’m here. I started gaining weight in the thick of my depression after trying to conceive my now son. I loss 4 pregnancy was put on all different types of medication and when I feel pregnant for the 5th time it was a horrible pregnancy with pre eclampsia - was on bed rest majority of the time and in and out of hospital and 11 daily pills to keep me from dying of a heart attack or seizure. I basically went from 165 to 237 in the span of 3 years. But as I hold him right now I realize that type of perseverance to get him will drive me in loosing this weight and being ultimately healthy for myself and my children.

That’s not my entire story but the thick of where it went downhill for me.

Also, I’m changing my weigh in to Monday’s - Sunday’s I realize are too busy lol and forgetful apparently lol

Wow. You are right - that kind of determination will stand you in good stead here. And I'll change you to Mondays no problem! I take it, though, that you mean 192.6 and not 292.6? I had your starting weight as 193.8. Let me know which one is right.

Good Monday morning, friends. Thank you for those daily steps. I forgot to mention, once I see and record them, I will mark your post “Insightful.”

@lovethyneighbor Wow! That’s a lot of sick in one home. We have it here too. Hubby and I are in the hacking up your insides stage. My granddaughter, still has a cough and runny nose. She’s had it since right after Christmas. Hopefully we’ll all be healthy and strong soon.

One more note. @jugar and I do an online Pilates program. It’s normally a subscription, but right now they have a FREE five day jumpstart. She is REALLY good. Here’s the link if you’re interested.

    Make it a great day!❤️

@ElleBellesTheoBear You certainly have been through a lot. You can do this. It will take work and commitment, but it is very important to be kind to yourself on your journey. You have been through a lot and now have the responsibility of your little miracle. We are here to support you. It’s a journey we are all on together. We understand. There is so much to learn together.

If you or anyone ever need to vent, ask questions, need advice, etc. post here and we will do our best to help. Hugs.

Hey all! I am a missing member -- and I do apologize (as always) for that --life gets so crazy, and I'm not a faithful blogger/poster -- it's the last thing I think of at night as I drift off.... so I'm here to tell you I'm still alive (whew!) and that I'm still doing side planks and all kinds of crazy yoga stuff (crow, anyone? -- remember I did silk yoga a little while ago -- went flying!) and that I'm 62 yrs. old -- lost 30 lbs a couple of years ago, and now I'm back a full 15 pounds up from that low weight that made me so happy. If I missed January, I'll take the hit. If I'm still eligible, put me down for 137 (gulp!!) and I'll make Monday my weigh in day. I fully plan on getting back to 120's in the near future! (Spring Break, anyone?) If you're sick of me, just let me know! :)

Going to be about 500 calories over today. My son's birthday and his favorite restaurant doesnt have very healthy options. But enjoyed the celebration. 14 years old already!! Will have to try to eat a little less the rest of the week but will be tough. Have dinner and a movie scheduled with friends Friday night and a pancake breakfast fundraiser Saturday morning. Scary! It's so much easier to stay on track when I eat at home.

We could never be sick of you! Flying yoga, crows all over the place -- no worries, you're stuck with us. I'll move you to Mondays - by any chance do you have a weight for LAST Monday? That way your 137 counts for week 1. If not, it isn't a big deal - I'll just put this weight for both your starting weight and today's.

So, back on plan, ok? And be sure to check in sometimes or we'll miss you too much

@juliemargaretkim So glad to see you back in touch and how could we forget you and the silks. Made me very curious about doing that. Sure sounds fun. We are not sick of you and welcome back! You can do this. @jugar will check in with you, but I’m sure your weigh in day is fine. Today’s weight would most likely be your starting weight and week 1 weight. She’ll let you know.

@Terytha I’m so sorry you got bad results on your blood tests today. Today it may not feel worth it, but you know you are doing good things for your health. Seventy + pounds down is nothing to sneeze at. If you need to vent more, we’re here for you.

@YinxFed Great idea to listen to your body and you already had one workout down today. Good job. 👏🏼👏🏼

@jfp420 Wew! That’s a challenging week. I totally get celebrating your son’s birthday. My daughters was last Friday. Right before my weigh in. When I have weeks like that, I just have to take it a meal at a time and do the best I can. Try to focus on being mindful. You can do this.

I hit my 8K step goal and now I’m recharging my Fitbit, so unlikely to get many more steps. I have had plenty of water today, did 18 minutes of Pilates, logged all my food, but I’m either over or pretty close to over. I need to go close out. But I made cookies for hubby and ate two. 😐 I haven’t been out of my house ALL day. Ahhhh.

So gang, it looks like it is a pretty good Monday.

But big hugs to you @Terytha - getting bad blood results is the pits. I hope it is just boring stuff like cholesterol that you are working on fixing, and I know you will improve. Because you are doing this and going to hit Onederland soon! This month!

@YinxFed sorry you missed your zumba, but good job on already doing a workout this morning. I'm not doing the Self Mag 2020 program but I did their program a few years ago and it was really good. I hope you find some buddies to do it with you!

@jfp420 - congratulations to your son! 14 is a big one. He's going to be quite the young man soon - get ready, mama! You'll be back to eating right at home soon - but in the meantime, just decide in advance to do little things like have only ONE pancake, or drink your coffee black.

@evangsimmons170 - just you watch us ladies in our 60s! @juliemargaretkim and I and a few others can really mix it up! You will be wowing them in your 60s too if you stick with us

Only a tiny WEIGH IN list:
    @reflectionofme - due today
    @mrslrucker - due Tuesday

    Thanks!

    Happy News!

Some of you are aware that we had some big changes in the Fat2Fit leadership last month. I am thrilled to announce that we now have have two new Moderators:
@Cafelelia (Lisa - co-captain of Team Weight No More)
    and
@TeresaW1020 (Teresa - co-captain of Team Mission Slimpossible

Beka and I have been having a great time working closely with quite a few of the Captains through this transition, and it was not easy to pick only two people as new moderators. The New Year has brought us really large teams, but the energy is fabulous. Let's keep it all going - and a big thanks to Lisa and Teresa!
