@conleywoods my breakfast is usually sauteed veggies (whatever my spouse feels like cooking), with an egg (poached, etc.); a small side of yogurt with apples or strawberries, and sometimes a piece of toast or oatmeal, if it'll be a long while before lunch.
A favorite for any meal is roasted cabbage. Cut into long strips, spritz with olive oil, salt, pepper, and/or hot sauce (Cholula is delish), and roast for 25 minutes or until a bit soft but still al dente.
    Have a great afternoon!

    Breakfast:
During the week, usually eaten at work so I'm not starving too early - usually steel cut oats, raisin bran, or mini-wheats.
On the weekends, see my previous post about nachos... ;)

Fiber: usually about 40g/day through grains, veg, & flaxseed meal added to soup at lunch. Also, Trader Joe's has a good tasting High Fiber cereal. I've been using that as my nightly snack the past 2 weeks.

Before Covid, my schedule was Tuesday-Saturday. Now it's Monday-Friday. Soon, it should be Sunday-Thursday. All this to say, I will change my weigh-in day when I have a "permanent" schedule. I'll behave the next few weeks by only having nachos on Sunday after my weigh-in. I have to say, no nachos on Saturday after a 6.6 mile run was painful. :o

Some beautiful weigh-ins this week! Lots of green. The only gains have been TINY - 0.1, 0.2 - I call those fluctuations  not gains. It is looking good!

I like the breakfast discussion - I am almost always super hungry when I get up in the morning, so it is in some ways my favourite meal of the day. But right now I'm really hungry to start supper! Lots of veggies, some pinto beans, and a small bit of barley. I'm starting to add some grain back in to see if I can be less hungry all the time. Who mentioned barley? I love the stuff, so decided to be inspired and make some. Yum.

I love barley too, but my husband is really picky. He's a white rice kind of guy, unless it's his idea. Hmmm...how do I convince him that it was his idea? LOL. Don't get me wrong, I can eat what I want, but he won't eat it, so I'd make him something else and that seems silly. I cook he cleans, so it is my department to keep him fed.

Needed to get my last 500 steps to goal so I pulled up a beginning RUNNING video by Pahla. I know someone here mentioned the workout with her videos. I think it might have been @Andreabroadley. Anyway, I was real proud of myself. Only 10 minutes of interval running and a 5 minute stretch after, but I was not out of breath. Breathing deeply, but not gasping and definitely warmed me up. Nah...who am I kidding. I'm sweating and earned that shower. The only thing bugging me was my left hip. I actually call it my "hippybuttback" pain. It shifts from side to side at times. Well, I woke up today with it not being happy. Oh well, I keep stretching it.

So @jugar that's 17 minutes of Pilate and 15 minute interval run/stretch for today. Now for some water. Hope everyone is doing well. This is Day 60 for our stay at home order. I will be maintaining that for the foreseeable future, despite ill-conceived re-openings.

    Cheers!!!

My breakfasts are quite variable -- often muffins with cheese, or oatmeal with yogurt, or homemade fruit smoothies.

This morning I headed outside but it was cold and windy. I got chilled and came in body achy with a headache so sat down to watch the news after lunch and fell sound asleep. Hence didn't accomplish much the rest of the day. But my husband pointed out that if I fell asleep that easily my body probably was telling me something. So I'll go with that. And when I woke up I was feeling a lot better. :)

Thanks for all the breakfast ideas. I loved hearing about all the different things people are eating. I also love eggs for breakfast. Sounds like a lot of you have a few regular breakfasts you rely on.

Today was a busy work day but not super productive. The internet would not let my husband and I connect our laptops at the same time. Sheesh 😟

Today was my second day of the week I didn't eat my exercise calories wahoo! Got a 50 minute walk in with the family after dinner. Had some healthy stuff and had some treats today too. Stayed at my calorie goal so that is great.

Lots of great weigh ins this week. I hope to join that team on Friday!

So yesterday didn't go as planned at all !

Forgot the biscuit part of my breakfast, so I ate an apple, it had alot of bad spots, then for lunch I had every intention of going over to sprouts and buying some turkey, but got really busy and decided to order chipolte instead, it was yummy, I get a veggie bowl... actually had to order 2 though for delivery to be free so I got the hubby one that he took for lunch today..

When I got home, it was so beautiful, so instead of doing my planned exercise, I re-potted my lavendar, watered and cleaned out all of the helicopters from all my plants, then I re-arranged all of my patio furniture - twice...I also played fetch, and cat toy with the puppers. Then the son decided to order pizza for dinner, so I had 2 slices of pizza and a beer and sat on the patio and hung out with the hubby and son... Then I sat out longer and read a book for 2 hours, it was nice, so I'm okay with calling it my off day..

    Steps were - 7,833

This morning is better, I brought ALL of my breakfast and lunch, I did my two miles, and my hair looks great, so yeah today will be a good day !

    Have a lovely day !

This would be amazing. I'm feeling pretty isolated these days, and I have LOTS of coffee! Too bad the border is closed and travel from Europe way too difficult - but all the Canadian friends are welcome any time! One of these days I'll be able to go south to see my friends and family. I'm the only one in the family who lives in Canada, so I'm usually the one who travels to see everyone. I can't say I'm in a hurry to go anywhere, though. But I'd really like a coffee with this team

I get to see a physiotherapist today, since my hematoma from falling on April 11th has not been shrinking, and is still giving me a big pain in the rear! It looks like I'm wearing a well stocked fanny pack off to one side, and I'm really tired of the only pants that fit over it comfortably. The physio clinics are beginning to re-open for cases that won't work by telephone or video, so I'll don my mask and go see if there is something that can be done to break up the build up in the muscle tissue. Luckily, the joints and all are just fine, and I can walk no problem, but it needs to GO. Almost 5 weeks, and I am just about fed up with the thing. Hoping they can magic it away!

So Happy Thursday, all! May your calories balance, your rest be refreshing, and your sunshine soak in deep.

Happy Thursday! I did one of the longer (for me) Pilates workouts today. 32 minutes! It was hard, but I feel really good now. We used a ball and practiced balance and breath. Now, I REALLY need to go get my coffee.

Make today a great one! I will try to resist desserts.

Oh no, I seem to have lost my place with my reported steps!

So yesterday (13th May) - I managed 3188. And the day before that (12th) was also low at 3274. Keeping in mind @eggfreak's recent notes about 5000 steps and below being representative of being sedentary, I must agree. Yesterday was a really slow day for me. It was also a rest day, exercise-wise.

Today, however, was much better - back on my SELF Spring 2020 Challenge and I did Day 25. This was another 30 minutes of 5 rounds of the following circuit - 1 minute each of Inchworm, Crab Toe Touches, Squat Jacks, Jab to Upper Cuts & Squat Pulses. I then did a 4 minute burnout round of 40 Jumping Jacks, 30 Bicycle Crunches, 20 Squat Pulses, 10 Inchworms and the remaining time I used up on a Forearm Plank.

And the pooch got a 30 minute walk too - Happy Days!

Enjoy the rest of your Thursdays, Friends :)

May 1st I set a couple of goals for myself...

1- do 60 miles in May.. walk jog crawl it didn’t matter just do them... as of right now I’m ALMOST half way done I have 34.25 more to go and I complete this goal..

2- go as long as I can (was aiming for 7 days) of NO sweets!!! Today is May 14th and I have NOT touched a sweet!!! No ice cream no cake no cookies... I am really struggling with this one but I’m getting through.. 14 days strong and counting y’all.

Ya know, I had some issues with my scale last week and eh I’m ok with it. Was it disappointing? Abso-freaking-lutely!!! But I will pick up from that spot and push through. I’ll move forward. I can only hope that tomorrow morning brings me a win. So on that note I will wish you a very happy Thursday my MFP friends and I will return in the morning with (hopefully) a weigh in. Good or bad I’ll bring.. thanks for all the support guys 🤗

Thursday is ending already?? Wow. I'm not getting all my steps in today, feeling a bit sore after a physio appointment. But I hope it will have a good effect for tomorrow! Before that I had a good time out in the garden, planted another bed of yummy things, hoping that the warmth will be here to get things going. Of course, the warmth is getting the black flies (May flies) going like crazy - the bug spray is now out on the front porch.

Big day for weigh-ins coming up ---- Friday people, are you ready? Whether you are or not, Friday is on the way

@SMcFall0215 Great goals and great job getting your miles and keeping away from sweets. I know how hard it is to resist those sweets. So yay for you!! Cheering you on for a great weigh in tomorrow.

@jugar Exercise 5/14– 32 minutes of Pilates, 30 minutes light gardening, bouncy ball/running in place 10 minutes each.

Good luck to all those with Friday weigh ins!

    Happy Thursday Friends!

@Gidgitgoescrazy way to rally after an off day and have a great hair day!

@SMcFall0215 Nice work on the goals. Way to push on even with the scale situation.

@micki48 Super workout! I bet it feels good to be back in the swing of things and working out again

@jugar Hope you get some results from your appointment today. 5 weeks is ridiculous!

@Yinxfed I know I have days where I get stuck doing work and get few steps too. Glad you got your awesome workout in today! Nice

I had a great day with calories and didn't eat my exercise calories because I didn't get any exercise. Work was definitely demanding today. It took the whole day and by the end of the day my kids really needed my attention. I'm pretty wore out today. Lots of meetings with needy parents. Some are just struggling to access the medical system right now with really medicaly complex children. Long story short, lots of teary mommies today and no easy answers. I really didn't have the energy to work out today. I have the next 3 days off so I will be recharging and getting my exercise in.

I started out in the yard pruning potentilla in the morning at 15C (~60F for our American neighbours) and then about noon a cold front blew in and it was 5C (40F) by 3pm. So I decided that was enough of that! But the forecast is still good for the weekend so I am planning on getting the rest of my garden in.

One of my goals this month was to log everything everyday and be plus or minus 50 calories. Today I ended with 57 to spare but since tomorrow is a weigh day I decided to leave it there...

Friday, Yay! I just finished 15 minutes of pilates. Seems to be a beautiful day, so hoping to get out for a walk later.

Congratulations on all those excellent weigh ins!! Super work. :) I got on the scale this morning and did not like what I saw. Up again. This week has been WAY better than last week and I have been exercising again after a week off. It's disappointing, but I'm not going to let the scale defeat me. I look at my body and it looks stronger/fitter than I can remember. Yes, I have a ways to go, but that scale will not own me. Also, I know that can change in a day, so we will see what tomorrow's weigh in brings. I've been a bit irregular this week. :p:#

Hugs to all you teachers out there dealing with end of year stuff remotely. I know how hard it can be under normal circumstances. I feel you.

Enjoy your day! @Gidgitgoescrazy Your canoe trip sounds wonderful.

I am really disappointed in myself. I am happy with my workouts but I am not consistent with my eating. I am going to focus on calories and macros. I saw a post in Facebook Group for nursing moms that is hopefully going to stick with me. She said to get real that 1-2 good days followed by 1-2 not so good wasn't yielding results. You have to have a lot more good days then bad days.
OK, Kelly. You did not let the disappointment make you walk away from this. You did think about it, take in some information, and you learned something about what it will take to succeed. That is what success looks like. Success is NOT instant gratification and perfection. So aim for 4 good days out of 7. Then maybe move it to 5. You're nursing, so the hormones and the need to use calories to make milk are going to make it a challenge!

During my active losing phase, I found having one free day a week made a lot of difference. I could bank those urges and cravings, knowing that I could have any of them on my free day. So if you're aiming for 4 out of 7, you know that on 3 days you can have at least one of those craved foods, and not get your perfect calorie deficit. I would not advise 3 fully free days, but 4 good ones with just the right calorie deficit (not too extreme!) might be more doable than aiming for 6 at first. You are your own experiment! Enjoy the learning, and don't let it get you disappointed in yourself. Some experiments fail, but they are all information that is useful. You are doing it!

I remember having a completely pie in the sky idea of weight loss during nursing. You're making milk! You will lose a ton! But that did not take into consideration the fact that you are sitting doing the nursing, and you are often in a room with the little ones, you are hungry and tired. I think you're brave to try losing right now - you're doing great and we're all rooting for you

You are now a Thursday person along with Sylvia @eggfreak - you can green together!
