Sorry yo be AWOL. It has been a crazy number of days from temps going from freezing to 90’s and now heading back to the low 40’s again at night,
I have been cutting grass at three properties, cleaning up my own gardens, buying plants to put in here and at my church, weeding my church beds and re conditioning the beds. And clean up outside of my dad’s former home out side has been none stop too.
We opened up our big Master Gardener bedS for Penn State and they are only five of us allowed to work at a time. Most people have checked out because of Covid. They will not come back..such panic and fear. We have been doing a make shift clean up and we grew seedlings for our moon shaped bed which I have taken on this year. Our compost bins sit so I took them on to reactivate and turn them so we have some compost this year. What work....shoveling, chopping up brush and inflaming my carpal tunnel syndrome.

Hubby and I have been building a third 4x8 vegetable bed which now gives me (6). 4x4 beds and (3) 4 x 8 beds. In the mean time, my pastor’s son wants a veggie garden so I am plotting out a spot for him. Yikes! I created a new gardener since he has been helping me at church.

I had to repaint two bikes for our garden, we had our road repaved and that was a whole other story as they cut another foot of right away out of our yard so I cannot cut grass between shrubs and road.

I have a driveway full of flats waiting to get in after the temps dip again this weekend. By the time I get my walking, running or biking in, I hit the pillow and never wake unless my pup needs water or to be flipped during the night. I kept a sticky note of miles by my bed.

I am going to go back to canning food this year. I freeze, but want to put up more and canning is the way to go. So it looks like I am off and moving. I feel like Vhuber.

Vhuber: Will’ put your hubby on my prayer list. That and all you are doing is a lot to be handling. Remember to turn it all over to Him.

So glad to see everyone is still moving.

May 20: 11 miles of walking and biking
May 21: 16 miles of running and walking
May 22: 10 miles walking and biking
    May 23: 13.5 miles walking
    May 24: 5 miles biking
May 25 14 miles running and walking
May 26: 11 miles walking and biking
    May 27: 8 miles walking

@Dave - Thanks for catching my booboo. 208+26=134, but not in this universe.

@Clepant - That sounds REALLY busy. You were less busy when you were teaching. Happy retirement.

    2020 - May - 100

    25th: 12.82 m cycling, Pilates - MTD 128.8
    26th: 4.13 m running, Pilates - MTD 132.93
    27th: 13.56 miles, 12.06 m cycling, 1.5 m purposeful walking - MTD 146.49
    28th: 7 miles, 4 m running, 3 m purposeful walking Pilates - MTD 153.49

On Wednesday I went for a bike ride with my OH when he decided to do a sudden, tight, u-turn .... I couldn’t stop in time (now have new brake blocks). My front wheel clipped his back wheel and I ended up on the tarmac with a scraped knee  Yesterday, I did some socially distanced running with a friend. At mile 4, 170 yd’s from home, I tripped on an uneven pavement scraping the same knee and my shoulder. He says I need a chaperone to go out ;)
    Stay safe everyone

@clepant, WOW you make my head spin!!! I do give it to God & that's how I make it through another day!! It actually is getting better or I'm just accepting it as the norm! LOL

After my day yesterday I walked with Georgie 2.5 miles while the boys played on their end of the garden. Their dad said he'd check on them. I sped walked but came home to a LAKE on their end of the garden!! They were said "Nana we are making Fort Peck Lake, Isn't it cool?" They had fun but sure were muddy! Their clothes & boots are out by the door still!! yuck..

Wow, so much going on. I've been way too busy myself. Between the elderly parents, the kids being home with me again, construction at my house, and a yard that is way too wild and overgrown (any ideas how to get rid of wild blackberries other than painfully pulling them out by the roots?), plus my crazy volunteer job, I've not moved that much - at least not in terms of organized exercise, lots of steps though. Good thing I anticipated it and set a low goal. I'm at 59/50.

@k80flec - ouch! Please take care of yourself.

May 18-24 another 17.55 Miles for a total of 56.9 for the month.

I didn't posted like I wanted on Monday because our wonderful doggies who hate cats per stereotype, I actually think they go over and beyond, mistook a skunk for a cat. Bowzer got a face full, we're guessing he bit the tail or was going to. He kept rolling and rubbing his face in the gravel and grass and was immediately sick all over the yard. Gidget was mostly shielded by him. Two quarts of peroxide, some Dawn dish soap, and baking soda took care of most of it. What it didn't was handled by vinegar, water, and baking soda. Except for his muzzle which still has an odor four days later. All of this happened at around 7:30 so we were busy the rest of the night. :s

Tuesday night and all day Wednesday I was in bed with a migraine. The combination of high winds and the dew point knocked me for six. Yesterday was better and today I'm good as I get. :)

CONGRATS on GOAL to @VHUBER!! :star:

@CLEPANT - No problem! As you saw, you weren't the only one....

@K80FLEC - Oh noes!! Take care of that knee and please be careful! (((hugs)))

It's been an eventful week at our household too. We started with a frantic call last Sunday that the teen in our house used so much toilet paper that he plugged the main sewer line and then took a shower. Our main drain backed up and flooded the basement and got the carpet, baseboard trim and sheetrock wet in our two month old house. We were out for the day and came home to that horror. Our A/C also wasn't functioning yet so we had to work through that. We needed it to help dehumidify the downstairs, plus it's been super humid outside the first part of the week. Our garage and front doors were painted. We had window cleaners doing the insides and outsides and screens.

And then just as that was settling down, an incredible tragedy occurred not 20 miles from our home in Minneapolis which by now, I'm sure you're all aware of the details. So wrong. I just heard that they FINALLY arrested the one main Minneapolis cop that was kneeling on George Floyd's neck. But in the meantime, much of the city is destroyed and on fire. There is understandably so much pain in the community, but I don't see how destroying your own neighborhood benefits anyone or gets them to listen to you. This is a very dark chapter in our state's history.

    Praying for peace and understanding,

    Dave

@ Dave, It is a sad event. Not saying the man deserved what he got BUT he should not have been involved in criminal activity to get himself arrested. I was glad to see that the policeman was charged with murder. NO the city should not answer back with stupidity & violence like they are. That is doing wrong just like the man who died while being arrested for what he was doing!!! STUPID!!
I did walk 3 with my 7 year old grandson. He needed a nap this afternoon! LOL

3.6 mile walk. I was hoping to go a bit more, but it's freakin' hot out after days of non-stop raining and I thought I'd burst into flame. I did a Zoom HIIT class this morning with my gym instructor and some of the other early morning regulars. FINALLY got my hair cut yesterday, that part of Phase II is allowed here. It looks and feels so much better.

@dave Stay safe. It's a horrible thing. There are protests here today in Raleigh, but they've been peaceful.

@k80flec Maybe you should check into one of these ...
