I'm up 0.4#. And I know exactly why. I'm eating too much and the wrong things (chips & cheese, grilled cheese, things I haven't eaten in over a year). Truthfully, it should probably be an even higher gain.

Every morning I decide to get on track, and by noon 🤷. So this week's plan is to plan, buy ingredients for, and cook 3 healthy meals that I can eat for the week, and make a low cal cheesecake for an easy, healthy, filling snack.

On the positive side, despite failing week after week, I have not given up!
    Here goes nothing!

Lin - if showing up is 90% of success, I suspect not giving up makes up the rest.

So, I'm up 2.4 pounds this week. I take full responsibility. Passover starts on Saturday night, so we've been cleaning out all of the non-Passover-appropriate food from the house. Rather than simply throw away all of the open food (we donate everything that's still closed), I've been "giving myself leeway" to eat it. Obviously, I should have planned a bit better, but there is a lesson here: I need to manage my environment better, because when there is a bunch of food sitting in front of me on the dining room table, I find it hard to walk away after a single appropriate portion.

The next week and a couple of days is going to be a mess. Matzoh tends to "stuff me up" a bit, and there are a number of special foods and desserts that will be had over this Passover holiday. I will work to be reasonable in my intake, but I won't be hyper-restrictive. I will also make sure I get my exercise in.

Thankfully, I'm still close to 10 pounds under where I started the challenge, but I'm a few pounds above my personal target.

Up 0.4#. Kind of disappointed, as I was down at home. Oh well, next week's coming.

Up 2.4. Totally deserved on so many levels. But, I'm seeing small bits of progress (not eating as much junk, of course that's because there's not much left 🤦) and I'm moving more, so maybe, just maybe ...

    I'm up 0.2 pounds.

It's still Passover, and I was expecting this to be a more challenging week. Passover is characterized by eating a lot of matzoh and random Passover favorite snacks. Matzoh tends to slow down the ol' GI track, if you know what I mean. Nevertheless, I haven't been going too crazy, but I certainly haven't been overly restrictive, either. I am willing to tolerate a bit of a gain to enjoy this particular holiday. I'm still mostly getting my exercise in, so that's a plus.

My plan is to get through Passover (it ends Sunday night), and then start fresh first thing Monday back to my usual plan: single servings of appropriately portioned meals, no alcohol during the week, exercise during the weekdays, and allow a little more flexibility on the weekend (but not too much!).

I'm down 2.4 lbs from last week. That's the good news. Three bad news is I'm up 9.2 lbs since January 1. Muddy of that was February and March. I've had a lot of fluctuation in the past couple of months. I know stress is the main culprit and I'm working on that. 🙂
I do have my work cut out for me but aside from eating the right foods it all about attitude and sticking to the plan with consistency. It's the day that turns into days before I put on the brakes that gets me in trouble. Everyday however is a new start date/day and there's nothing I can do about yesterday except learn from it and move on. 🙂
    2021
    January 1st = 309.0
    February 1st = 318.8
    March 1st = 315.4
    April 1st = 317.2
    Days turn into months.

Well, THAT was an interesting month!

Results for five Wednesday weigh-ins were +1.2, -0.4, +0.4, -3.2 and + 5.2. So much for “in like a lamb” - this was more “in like a lion; out like the Hindenburg”.

I was taking partial credit for the -3.2, but I also knew it followed two mornings of clearing brush. Given that, it was likely more water than fat that disappeared. This week? Not sure how it might have turned out, but a Tuesday full of bad decisions (and two bagels as a snack is not a good decision, just for one example) doesn’t make for a good result on Wednesday.

Well, April has to be better, right, Bueller? Bueller?

My new meeting was Thurs. One from my Monday MTG was there, two more are planning to come but have medical issues, and 1 from my old Thurs group (pre move). Lots of other folks from I don't know where. It was fine, but time will tell

Up 1.2 at weigh-in at WW this morning. Way too much Sunday, and, tonight we're having our youngest her with 1 or 2 of his boys, plus a couple of "hanger-on's" I'll do ok with dinner, but brownies and ice cream..........
    We'll see tomorrow AM. ;)

I'm down 0.8 pounds this week. I am starting to take off the "Passover weight." It's now time to get myself refocused, which has started. Key (as always) is to cut out the weekday alcohol, which I've already started. Next will be to cut out the random evening post-dinner totally-unnecessary snacking. After that, I just need to stick to my usual plan.

Well, the fire is extinguished on the Hindenburg. After going up 5.2 pounds last week, thus week in down 5.4 pounds, and so currently at my lowest weight since September 2015. No magic; just some discipline and the loss of the bad decisions that triggered the prior gain.

I'm up 5.8#. Yes, some of it is the salty ham I ate all week, but definitely not all. Getting on the scale Fri felt like a real KITA. I didn't post right away because I've been processing. Also, didn't want to claim to be turning it around without some proof. So, as of this Monday morning, I have had 4 days of accurate tracking, 3 blue dots, increased moving, and way less urges to go off program. My biggest struggle has been with my appetite which had gotten used to regular feedings 🤦🏼‍♀️. But I'm making progress. I've actually felt real hunger in the last few days 😂

So, this week's plan is to continue with the tracking, get blue dots (when I'm at the top of points for a day, I'm just done eating, kitchen closed!). And I've meal planned the week. Going to the store to fill in the gaps, ie. buy veggies. I have some good options in the frig, including refrigerator oats that I plan to eat for Bfast and "snacks" when I'm truly hungry. The scale is already down 3#s but that's just a little win, since I know the real struggle will be the last few #s and then the next one! It's a line I haven't crossed in years! Last time I was even close was Aug of 2018😳

So, here goes the continuation of the first week OP in 2 months!

@linmueller Tough and frustrating to give up that decade of progress, I’m sure. While this week may have had a precipitating event, I also wondered in looking back at your threads whether there was some semblance of a “Punta Cana hangover” here. It seems on the surface like there have been more challenges for you since then.

I was going to tell you that you’ve got the knowledge to do this, but one thing I’ve reflected on recently is the distinction between knowledge and execution. For most of my journey from 180# to 267# I was telling myself “Not a problem; you’ve got the tools to handle this.” What I finally concluded was that having the tools in your toolbox doesn’t make you a carpenter; it’s having the ability and the will to use them that makes the difference.

So I won’t say “you’ve got this!” or “you know how to handle this!” Instead, I’ll say “Go forth and execute.”

Yes Charlie, it is absolutely related to PC. Call it a vaca hangover, loss of momentum, dropping good habits, it is what it is! And I need to fix it. I want those 10#s back off, and I want goal!

I've always felt like being OP was like a switch that flipped and few struggles to do what I know to do followed. Sometimes it's that simple, and sometimes it's a fight to resist behavior that's detrimental to my goal, and if I tough it out long enough, it's relatively easy. I've had 5 stellar days in a row, and minimal struggles with myself today, so I'm hopeful. Losing weight is not for the weak. So, this is my, going forth and executing! Thanks!!!
