Considering that it got as high as 137 a couple days ago, I'm not upset.
Review of yesterday:
Food: Ate on plan - actually, I am averaging around 1100 - 1200 calories daily, but I think I'm going to up that to 1300 - 1400 since I'm exercising a lot. It's hard to make myself eat, but since I'm eating lots of fruits and veggies, hopefully I'll see positive results.
Exercise: Did an upper body strength workout - mostly for chest, shoulders, and lats. I'm sore today, but still probably going to play golf with the Hubs. Also walked 2 miles.6 -
Check in for Tuesday 6/2
Food-logged and on target
Water-64 oz
Exercise-50 min walk
I have been slacking with my PT, I need to do a good strength and PT session today. I am also trying to get everyone out for a walk before it gets too humid here. It is nice out now. I have been lazy the past couple of days, even with eating. I am staying within my calories but not really putting thought into what I am eating. Today I would like to go shopping (part of the problem) and have a healthy dinner. It is Wednesday and I really haven't made a plan for the week. One day seems to flow into another so I need to put a stop to it and get some structure in my day and week.
Jim did well at the pulmonologist. He wants Jim to have some tests in a couple of months. He wants him to be fully recovered before they do them. From the chest xray and his exam he said he believes Jim will make a full recovery. Such good news! Btw-I got off to a rocky start with the doctor, I had to pull my nurse card which I rarely do. Things improved after that. That is really not my personality so my husband found it funny.
OK-let me see if I can get one of these people moving for a walk Lol! It may be just Daisy and I this morning. Shannon hit 30,000 steps yesterday. She was a little crazy. She said it wasn't something she planned to do, she just happened to have a lot of steps and she wanted to see if she could get it to 30,000. Have a great day everyone!
@Cafelelia No worries about the check ins. You were the sole captain on here for a while and you were sick yourself, still had all your moderator and your Mom duties so please do not give a second thought to shorter posts. You deserve a break.
@Barbb1557 Starting June off strong! Nice loss! We are so glad you are back!
@annliz23 It can be a little time consuming being on here so I understand why you may not be able to comment as much as you like. Especially if your husband isn't happy you are spending time on the computer. Please post when you can and let us know how we can help you and how you are doing. You can and will get that weight off. Love the graphic too.
@nstephenson01 I am glad your husband is home safely. I assume that is where he lives when he is on a job? I wondered how that worked. What time do you start the IF? I find that helps with the evening snacking for me but I don't like to go too long without eating in the morning. If you are having consistent trouble with evening snacking maybe for now you can find something healthy to snack on and then back away from that? I also think we change our habits and do so well in some areas but still have the areas we struggle. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. You will figure it out. You are amazing and have come so far since you started.
@Zumba_Luvah That was nice of you to share that story. How sad and I am sure a mixture of emotions for you.
@Mrsbell8well Wow! You are starting June off strong! Good luck with the transfer. Exciting times for you!
@ljdanny I can not wait for the salons to open around here. It is funny how much more I appreciate all of that now. You have been doing excellent lately so don't let having some extra bread get to you. I can relate to the emotional eating, I still can't get over how much I gained when Jim is sick.
@melaniedscott Woot Woot!! Nice loss! You really are doing great! I think it is always good to look at what we are doing and make changes if needed. You seem to be on top of things
@tryingagain5 If not tracking is working for you, that is great. I think that hot and humid weather is heading to us not. We had a few cool and dry days which was nice. Hopefully things are getting better by you. I know we are still having big protests during the day which are peaceful. It seems at night it is better now that the National Guard has shown up.
@CassieGetsFit2013 I am not surprised you have so many emotions. I can't imagine. xo
@danisp Thank you for your concern. It is scary. It has been some year, you all had those fires, then this Covid, now this...Ugh! I think sometimes you just get to a point that everything builds up and then something just sets you off. Usually something that isn't such a big deal too. I bet it was something like that at school. My husband went through being hospitalized and on a ventilator for Covid, we couldn't see him, I was sure he was going to die at one point, and I held it together through all of that then got upset after an OT brought him upstairs and my room wasn't clean. (Not while the OT was there). Makes no sense. I am glad you didn't turn to food or wine after such a trying day. Hope today is going better for you. Happy Birthday to your husband! Btw-I also am very motivated by those apps too. Lol! Whatever works right?
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I agree, what a year 2020 has been so far! I really am so impressed how intuned you are to your body. I am sure it is necessary with your health issues but you just make the best of what is going on and adjust. I am also super impressed you and the hubs put the exercise bike together. I hope you love it! I am pretty confident you will!
@brown6267 Impressive steps!
@GingerPwr Sounds like you have a good plan. You do pretty intense workouts so I think upping your calories are a good plan.5 -
-
@sleepymom5 Such promising news about Jim!! Really amazing progress and you were a big part of his recovery... don't forget that. Hugs!! Oh and I try to start my fast around 7 pm so with a 14 hour fast I can eat breakfast at 9. When its a 16 hour fast I skip breakfast and don't eat until lunch.
Daily check in for Tuesday
Food: pre-logged and ate as planned
Water: pretty good but need to up it. Its harder when I'm outside all day... I have to be more mindful of coming in the house and getting a glass. Plus there's all the trips back to the house for bathroom breaks
Steps & exercise: 16,325 steps; walked the dogs and did a few chores outside
Better day yesterday food wise. Need to get the dogs out for a walk before it gets too hot then head to the grocery store which is such a drag these days. Gotta run... have a great day everyone!!

Daily Check in Tuesday:
Cleanse day 3 done
Yoga yes
sleep-8 1/2 hours
That takes care of my top 3. All good.
I have been constantly thinking about my diet and weight loss etc. I was very successful at dieting. I think I really fought the idea of going back into dieting mode. Just didn't seem fair. And I completely understand that "diets don't work it has to be a lifestyle change". Yes I know. But...I am really good at dieting. Maybe it should be restated that I am good at making a plan and sticking to it. So I went back to my original tactics and set a time frame of when I wanted to reach my goal. I feel like 1 pound a week is achievable although can be somewhat ambitious. I am tired of fooling around so I set 1 pound a week which gets me to goal by August 1st right before we go on vacation. All of this is contingent on my losing X amount of pounds by this Saturday. Right now I am tracking perfectly. I just need to lose .6 by Saturday then a pound a week. How I lose this weight matters as well. In my successful year I did what ever it took to accomplish each weekly goal. Cleanse, no sugar, no gluten, IF, ...didn't matter what it was as long as it worked. And I just didn't care. If I have to do my 1 week cleanse this week to get me back on track then that is exactly what I will do. During that successful year I rarely drank alcohol and I was very limited on sweets. I also like to skip dinner on Tuesday nights before weigh in. I am willing to do all of those things. I am determined to lose every single pound that I recently regained. Once I am back to maintenance that's another story. I will address that stage when I get there.
I am actually feeling pretty good at 150. At 142 I am actually pretty skinny. I like being really skinny but I have wondered if I could sustain that number. But I realized it is not at all about a number. I can't seem to sustain any number, doesn't matter what I choose. 142 puts me in normal body fat range so that's what it will be. I think 142-148 leaves me feeling pretty good, but to be in control I think I am going to choose 142-144 as my range to allow for some fluctuations but to also set up a stop point before I start going back up again.
Good luck everyone. Wearing a white sleeveless linen dress today with temperatures in the 90's. It feels like Summer!4 -
@sleepymom5 Pam I am so relieved to hear about Jim. I have a friend with the virus who has been out sick for over a month. Her second test still came back positive. Scary times.1
-
Just wanted to pop in to say I completed my cleanse yesterday! All 12 Days! No cheating!*
(And i actually LIKED it!) My starting weight was 139, and for today I'm 134.2. I know it's probably mostly water weight, but I'm feeling really good - my skin looks better, my bloaty feeling is 100% gone, and my body is ache-free!
Now I'm off to Starbucks to treat myself with an Oat Fudge Bar because I really really really really want one. I just won't pair it with a Grande Frappuchino like I normally would!
Hope everyone has a great day!
*full disclosure: last night around 10:30pm I put half a square of CBD Chocolate in my mouth without thinking, and then I realized what I'd done and spit it into a tissue, lol! You know I'm committed right to the end when I waste a piece of CBD Chocolate lol! So I'm not counting that as a cheat as I didn't swallow anything lol!8 -
Tuesday check in
Food - on target
Water - 2.2l
Exercise - 5 km walk, 14,293 steps
Good day yesterday. I had some work inquiries yesterday, which was a nice change. The year end schooling bonanza continues. There is all of this complicated stuff to coordinate like distanced drop off of school items including band instruments, library books and textbooks. Three more weeks after this and I am counting every day. Our emergency orders have been extended to the end of the month, so we stay as in Phase 1 until then. We likely will graduate to Phase 2 after that, which is a good time because many people take vacations and go to cottages.
This is a quick check in as I have to get back at it with both boys. Thanks for your kind words Pam and giving you a big hug! I see some amazing losses, wtg!!

Week 1: 140
(Last week i was 141.4)
On the downward trend . Clothes are starting to fit better and I can almost fit into most of my clothes from last summer (I was 128 then and most stuff is zipping up, not everything is wearable but it’s a start). Been running almost every day and started a push up challenge. Working on better eating behaviors still and have an accountability calendar to use which is helping.6 -

Checking in. It has been a rough start and it is only day 5. I have not felt well for awhile and think my 40 pound weight gain and rampant anxiety are responsible for it. Pennsylvania has very strict corona virus guidelines and I have turned into a hermit. The heat and humidity are back and that stifles me from leaving the house even more. Right now stretching on the floor with the fan on me is what I am able to do, how pathetic. Thanks for the support! I cannot wait to be able to enjoy a pedicure!6 -

Am I going for it , YES I Am!
Week 4 Fiton completed 15 exercises 222 mins , cardio, kickboxing, pilates, stretches, weights, Hiit.
Hope your all aiming high too, good luck.3 -
@annliz23 I love your attitude! Great job pushing the limits.
@Barbb1557 I had to laugh picturing you on the floor with your fan. It will get better. Hang in there.
@jedaschultz Awww it happens. Your sooooo close to the 190's. Maybe next week or very soon.
@tryingagain5 You will turn this around. You have been going through a lot recently. I know that sounds like support words that we often hear, but I found that the encouragement actually helped me.1 -
@profdawnlee Oh my your getting so skinny. I bet your excited about getting so close to the 139's again.
@gingerpwr love the quote! I love your attitude. Your doing such an awesome job! You motivate me daily.
@Cafelelia so much going on in your world. Your a marvel out how much you get done! It must be nice to have work inquiries again. Makes you feel like this forward movement.
@twyla77 congrats!!! I looked up your cleanse on line. Sounds like a good one. Glad it was such a good experience for you. Oh my gosh, I had to laugh about you spitting out the chocolate. It's like those nightmare dreams we have where your eating donuts. Then you wake up so deeply relieved that it was only a dream lol.
@nstephenson01 I have been drinking so much water. I know this means I will be up probably 4 times a night but that's just the way it is. When I used to travel for a living I made a promise with myself that I would take care of myself by stopping at as many rest stops I needed in exchange for drinking my water allotment. Good luck.
@sleepymom5 were you able to get your walk in? Shannon's walking is so impressive!
@brown6267 your walking is always so impressive.
@melaniedscott congrats on your weight loss! Good for you. And thanks so much for all your posts and words of encouragement to all our team members.
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx nice on your new spin bike. You and your husband are doing great. I am glad you honored your body and took the rest time. Are your headaches better?
@danisp I am so intrigued by your workouts. I always wanted to try that coaching zone at the gym. Good luck with your husbands birthday. It is still freaky to hear you down unders talking about freezing weather lol. 92 degrees here today.
@CassieGetsFit2013 my heart goes out to you. How tragic.

Hope I’m in the right group because you all are marvelous!
This is my first time in a challenge group but I’ve been on MFP for 6 years at least. I’m from Texas and have 5 kids, and married for 17 years to the love of my life.
I’m pretty tall, 5’10, and I just moved to a new house this winter and gained 6 pounds in a month, but I’m still fitting my clothes alright, so I feel like maybe my scale being in a new house could be the culprit?? Eh, probably some stress/holiday eating.
The last few days have been great, and I’m excited to keep helping this team!
CW: 183.7
GW: 160
Workout: weight lifting and 10 min on elliptical
Eating: coming in under goal
Major habit to develop for this month: not eating back my exercise calories. I think I’m getting close enough to my goal weight that I can’t rely on my Apple Watch to gift me calories that could be inaccurate.
How’d I do? Did I miss anything?7 -
So, school is back and now sports are starting back too. Muggins me is coaching my son's U17 basketball team, first training is tonight. Wish me luck - there are always a few boys who get peeved off they're being trained by someone's mum and not a man, but that's only because they haven't met me yet! Luckily I know quite a few of these boys already. It should be fun.4

Daily check in Wednesday:
Cleanse day 4 went well
yoga yes
sleep 9 1/2 hours
I weigh daily. I was so relieved to see the scale back in the 140's this morning. I know with a certainty that I would have seen 160 this month if I didn't put on the brakes. I am feeling so much better in every way.
I was in bed by 8pm last night. I do pretty good during the day but by the end of the day I need my sleep. I do get up about 4 times to pee but overall the sleep feels so good and so healing both physically and mentally. I am usually a 7 hour sleeper so this feels very healing. Molly has been using aromatherapy sleep oils in our diffuser.
I usually do a 1 week cleanse but plan to extend this one out to 2 weeks.
Has anyone else seen the documentary "Fat, Sick and nearly dead" by Joe Cross? I think a lot about his principles and it gives me a bit more confidence to keep going. His is a 30 day juice reboot. Mine is just a few days then I transition to fruits then veg, etc and start slowly adding foods back in to my diet. This go round I did one day water, one day lemonade (purified water, lemon, cayenne and raw honey), on Day 3 clear type juices for usually a day but this time 3 days and mango and kale and celery juices on my menu for tomorrow. Watermelon on Saturday. I can definitely feel it doing a great cleanse. My sinuses and ears are clearing up nicely. And my gut. No headaches this cleanse and I am very grateful for that.

@ademann I hope your in the right group too! Would love to have you on our team. I love your scale and new home theory. Nice try. lol. Your in the right place and sounds like you are in a good frame of mind. Keep posting!
@freeglerock any loss is a good loss! Congrats and very exciting to be out of obese! I remember my joy when I hit that mark.
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I have no doubt that you are a very capable coach! I fear a bit for your team lol. I have seen your exercises and memories of past routines.
@brown6267 your steps always amaze me. I go through spurts of committing to 10K and you make it seem so easy.
It's almost Friday hurrah!
The SMART principle is what I use for my goal setting.1 -
Check in for Wednesday 6/3
Food-forgot to log but on target
Water-64 oz
Exercise-30 min walk
Just a quick check in. I just found out that my niece and her sons are coming to swim in a little bit so I have to go. We had bad storms yesterday so I have to go pick some branches up around the pool. Had a good day yesterday. No reason for today to be any different. I am actually looking forward to tomorrows weigh in for a change.
Hopefully I will be on later to catch up with you all. If not, I will check in tomorrow.3 -

Week 1
PW: 171.8
CW: 172.2
Weight was down all week and then TOM arrived. Not a big gain considering so I’m not worried. Should see a nice loss next week
Wednesday check in
Food: didn’t log, didn’t IF but ate on plan
Water: sooo much but I’m retaining big time
Steps & exercise: meant to be a rest day since I felt yucky but still ended up with 12,409 steps and took the dogs for a walk
I have to go get my driver’s license renewed today and of course I have a pimple on the tip of my nose of all places! I look like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer... no amount of makeup is going to help. Oh well, if that’s my biggest problem of the day I’m doing alright. Drivers license photos are notoriously unflattering LOL. Montana is one of the states transitioning to Real ID so I had to gather an assortment of documents to prove my identity. Bit of a pain. OK, Better get going... take care everyone!4 -
Hi everyone ~
I'm Theresa and I live in downtown Toronto, Canada, not too far from Lisa (@Cafelelia). I joined the group in January when Pam (@Sleepymom5) put the invitation out to her MFP friends.
It's weird and lonely to get stuck at a plateau and this group is the perfect place to learn from others because it's so intimate. I've learned a lot here and really appreciate you all. Welcome to everyone new!
I started out at 177.4 lbs in Jan 2018, with a goal of a toned 142 lbs. By Sep 2018, I lost 28.5 lbs, which got me to 148.9 lbs. I maintained that loss for 10 months, then gained and lost 10 pounds twice.
I have two grown children. My daughter lives downtown not too far from me with her partner who is working on his PhD. He's a poet and she's a marketer. She turned 31 last week. She's a strong and positive woman who had a healthy childhood and then, in the first week of grade nine, developed a spectrum of serious health issues starting with a heart condition, later a tumor on her pituitary gland, and many other things. Nothing has ever stopped her from living her best life. For just over a year she's had cancer, which she will recover from. Treatment is ongoing and she'll likely have her eggs harvested when the hospitals get back to normal.
My son and daughter-in-law live in a small town about an hour away in a little house built in the 1800s on the main street of a scenic town. They have two children ~ Pippa, almost three, and Gil, who just turned one. I really wish I could see them more. The stay-at-home order has been on for 25% of my grandson's life. I'm pretty sure he thinks I'm a TV personality. My son and DIL say I'm his favourite though!
I have an international student, Wendy, living at my house. She's been stranded here for 12 weeks since they closed her college down as all flights to Vietnam continue to be canceled. We try to cheer each other up. She loves my children and grandchildren so joins our Zoom parties.
After a career as an advertising and publishing executive, a good friend and I are launching a start-up. It's an online service where people can hire professional genealogists by the minute. That's going well as I figure out how to do business in a pandemic.
We're all in this together.5 -

Weigh in week: Week 1
Weigh in day: Thursday
Previous weight: 154.1
Today's weight: 150.7
I'm very happy with that. Plus, this morning my son did a distance pick up at my house. He came to get a sleeping bag as they are going to my DIL's family cottage but sleeping in family units, so they'll be camping outside.
For the past few days, I've notice my shoulders look a little sculpted and my waist a bit firmer. He asked if I've been working out and said it looked like I'd lost weight too.
At the beginning of the week, I was doubting my current approach and was going to change my goals. But then, I could feel everything click into place this week.
So my June goals are:- Stay with Thu/Sat 1,700 and Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed/Fri 1,000 calorie base
- Eat half or fewer exercise calories
- Sleep on a regular schedule and for 8 hours
- At some point this month, increase from 2 to 3 HIIT/Bootcamp live sessions per week
- At some point this month, maintain 16:8 fasting which I'm just about at
- When broken toe feels better (it's only been 10 days), add cycling back in.
5 -
@1theresamcvean I forgot how close you and I are with are weights. We are definitely in this together. I am ready to be back to 142 are you? Lol...I know you are! Love your intro.
@nstephenson01 I bet you will be back in the 160's by next week. Awww your poor nose. Can you wear a mask for your photo? lol
@sleepymom5 Pam I didn't know you had a pool. Or maybe I knew and forgot. Ours gets opened next week. Have fun! I meant to comment on the "nurse" having to come out at the doctors. I think it's funny but so glad you have the experience to speak up and know what you are talking about to take care of Jim and your family.

@Mrsbell8well I thought of you and @Cafelelia a lot this week. We are so close in weight and we can do it! And learn a lot trying.
