@nstephenson01 A couple years ago, I asked one of my friends here what or who TOM was. So funny! It's been a long time for me. Hahaha. I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at me. So, that too shall pass.3

@CassieGetsFit2013 I was so so sorry to hear about your fluffy little black dog's death and how you're struggling with your forgiveness of your other two dogs. I'm so glad that @Zumba_Luvah shared her story with you (and also sorry about her son's guinea pig, Jack). Giant hugs.3

@Mrsbell8well
Thanks and you're right, I will. I think the stress of not knowing if I'm working or not is making it harder for me. Also the riots and looting so close to where I live isn't helping with the stress levels. From what I understand there were riots in the city before but that was before I was born.
I know that I can't control those things. Time for me to control what I can and take some of my own advice.😉
Yesterday's protest was peaceful and the police even walked with the group. Nothing violent happened after so hopefully there's progress being made.5 -

Hey! Checking in real quick.
Yesterday I didn't log food, but I don't think I overate. I did a low impact cardio workout and played golf with the hubs, so I got in lots of movement.
Had pizza for supper, which was definitely not clean eating, but I just gave myself permission to enjoy the food.
Today is the full force of TOM, so I haven't really been out of bed much - got lots of schoolwork done, though. I'm supposed to do a Hiit workout on Fitness Blender, but I think I'll switch days between that and the yoga scheduled for tomorrow and just reset on Saturday, which is the scheduled rest day.
I guess the lesson for today is "Listen to your body." There's a difference between your body saying "I don't want to" and "Okay, no, I physically CAN'T." And when we find ourselves in a place where we can't do A, then maybe we compromise with our bodies and do B instead.
And I'm also going to link this awesome video about not panicking over body fluctuations. I was down on myself earlier this week and then found this video today, and it's such a great reminder that we're going through daily, even hourly weight fluctuations and that nobody's perfect.
https://www.fitnessblender.com/blog/36-hours-of-body-fluctuation-cheat-meal-before-and-after
So like they say in the video: Do things mostly right most of the time, but give yourself space to be human.
Don't forget to be awesome today!3 -
@tryingagain5 Linda, each one of these things is a major stressor. It's unusual to live in the midst of a pandemic, flooding, riots, and to have job insecurity all at once. Be very kind to yourself, whether that's giving yourself a mental health day, or walking with your neighbourhood pups. I'm happy to hear yesterday's protests were peaceful. We've only had one protest here and it was peaceful. I posted a video I took at the end of the May chat. The only violence was when a man threw a bucket of dirty water with PineSol in it on the marchers. It didn't incite anything more than a few screams and some swearing. You've got this. Hugs.2

Hi all! 🖤
Just got home from the Hospital...😬😒 I went to my TMS treatment, when I got there I was feeling a bit dizzy & spaced out. I went to the bathroom, when I made it to the sink to wash my hands, my face was flushed and real pale. I almost passed out. I checked my BP & it was fairly high. I made it up stairs because I knew Danielle, the sweet technician would be there so I sat down and by then my arms and legs were feeling numb, tingly, flushed, etc. She came out to greet me, asked how I was and then she said I didn't look too good. Told her what my BP was and she had me check it again and it was higher. She went to call the Dr. And he said he wanted her to call an ambulance for me. I told her to wait. I wanted to try and wait it out and see if let up, she had already told me I couldn't do treatment as it just wouldn't be safe...So we waited a while and she kept checking on me. As time went by, I felt okay at times, then worse again. She got on the phone with the Dr. Again and he told her to call 911 so she did and an ambulance came and checked my BP and it was up. I can't walk when this happens cause my legs get so weird and weak feeling, I'm unsteady, so they got me on the gurney and off we went. Anyway, my blood work came back fine, my EKG was okay. The ER Dr. Gave me BP meds for 2 weeks (I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hypertension when I was 21. I've been on many different meds for it, but have currently not been on any. So maybe my Dr. Will now want me back on them...🤔) & told me to follow up with my Dr. I already have an appointment with her through video on the 8th anyway. They pushed me out in a wheelchair and I'm home now...My legs are still bothering me, my arms have let up for the most part. Hopefully this WON'T happen again tomorrow! 😬😕😒 I did feel pretty weird yesterday and got very drowsy around 8pm and passed out. Back up at 11, back to sleep by 2am, up this morning at 10:30. Huff! I think I've been dehydrated some lately too, and I always have my first meal so late in the day...so I need to do better!7 -
@GingerPwr Thanks, that article was really helpful. I'm only starting to have any shape to return to, as in definition. So good timing.1

Today has been stressful. Last night my grandma was taken to the hospital. I hate with everything going on that I cant be there with her even with her Alzheimer's. They let my mom in to the ER but once they said they were keeping her she had to leave. Then this morning our pup got hurt . She ran into something, it went pretty deep. She had alot of pain and bruising. Thankfully tonight she is feeling better with pain meds and antibiotics ♡5 -

So frustrating. Are you on your phone or your desktop? I noticed on my phone it wasn't working but on my computer it was. I've noticed other inconsistencies too. Hope that helps.0 -

Check in for yesterday...
2.5 ltrs water
9424 steps/1.5 hours walking
Did my core work twice! Felt it today...did well with sodium...
check in today
3+ liters
3823 steps/40 minutes walking
Did my core.
2.66 hours gardening (let's be honest...weeding. I am amazing at growing weeds & then murdering them)
Ate chinese for dinner...we know what that means.
Boy, am I tired!
I'm hopeful things are quieting down...we haven't had problems where I'm at but I have friends in places where it's been crazy. Between some really stressful stuff with my husbands family, covid and the on going violence, this year has, so far, been pretty awful. Here's hoping it improves someday soon. Hang in there everyone! Keep up the good work!4 -

@melaniedscott What flower is that in your profile image? It looks like a morning glory but also not. It's lovely. We've just planted or seeded here in Toronto, Canada so we don't have weeds yet. Good job on the doubel core workout!1

@bburrer30 I'm very sorry to hear about your grandmother. It's so difficult when we can't stay with them now.1

I have had a good week or so. I have been focusing on my hunger cues and doing well for the most part. If I am too hungry, I forget. We have been eating too late, the girls get up late, we have lunch late and then dinner is late too. I really don't like eating so late so I either need to move things up or eat by myself which is fine. I can have water or a drink when they are eating. I also have been lazy with dinners. We have been grilling hamburgers and hot dogs which aren't the best choice to have everyday. I also haven't been planning dinners so it is just easier. Today I am going to put some chicken out and maybe grill some veggies. No reason grilling can't be healthy. There isn't anything wrong with hot dogs and hamburgers once in a while, just not for me everyday.
Next week I am going to continue to focus on the hunger scale. I am also going to be sure to have a plan everyday, especially for dinner. I am also going to continue to be consistent with water, sleep, exercise and steps. I also have to do better with my PT exercises. Seriously, the daily ones are no more than 10-15 min, no reason not to do them. Twice a week are a little more intense with strength training and are around 30 min. I need to get more consistent with them too. I eventually want to move that to 3 times a week. Hoping to throw in swimming soon too. I am hoping to walk early with Jim and then do the swimming later in the day. Today is supposed to be stormy so I will see how that goes.
Boy I missed a lot! I love seeing our team so engaged!
@nstephenson01 I am glad that you aren't sweating that gain as it is your TOM. Looks like you are getting back into a good routine with things so I am sure you will drop when your TOM ends! We are transitioning to the SMART ID and that was on my to do list for the spring. Of course, that couldn't happen. Hopefully they push back when we need them by. It was Oct.
@Mrsbell8well It sounds like you are on a roll! I hope your friend starts feeling better soon. Covid seems to hang in there for a long time. Yes we have a pool, I guess because I am usually at the shore, I don't mention it much. It is pretty long for a residential pool so it is good for swimming laps. Love that pic of Lula Mae, she does look like she is playing peek a boo!
@twyla77 Nice job hanging in there with the cleanse! I am glad that you are also feeling the benefits from it. You made me laugh with the chocolate. I would have spit it out too!
@Cafelelia The things I don't think of since my kids are grown. I saw outside our middle school arrows and signs all over. Shannon was saying maybe they had to clean out their lockers. I never thought of that or returning books etc. At least that means you are getting near the end.
@GingerPwr Love that post-yes we don't need to wait for a new week or month. Everyday is a chance to turn things around. I also love the post about listening to your body and being kind to yourself. Thanks for sharing the link with the weight fluctuations. It is an important message.
@ProfDawnLee Nice loss and looks like a lot of NSV with the clothing too! You have been working hard and it is showing!
@tryingagain5 You can still turn this around. I know you can do this.
@Barbb1557 I am in Delaware county so we were hit really hard with Covid, I was hoping out by you it was a little better. We go to "yellow" today, it won't change much for me as I know the stores will be packed. I am waiting for the green so I can get my hair done and nails so I can relate with the pedicures. We have the heat too, after that stretch of beautiful weather. Maybe try to do something a little more than what you are doing. You would be surprised how little things build up. If you want to get exercise, do a quick video, Leslie Sansone has a mile in 15 min. You get a lot of steps, it is quick and it is a little more than just walking in place.
@jedaschultz Phew, I thought we lost you! That gain isn't even a pound so thats not too bad. Hope all is going well.
@annliz23 You got this! Awesome goals! No worries about that gain, so much goes into a gain that isn't fat. You have been doing well so keep it going. You will have a drop soon.
@Ademann1 Welcome! I am glad you are in our group. I have 5 grown children so I am about 13 years ahead of you Lol! I will be married 30 years next week. In my experience, any change in routine can cause weight gain so I can see how being busy with a move and 5 children could cause you to gain. I think 6 pounds on you at 5'10"may not be noticeable in your clothes where it may be on someone much shorter. Or it could be the scale too. I love those goals for the month. Sounds like you are off to a good start this month too! You got this!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx I bet you are an awesome coach! Enjoy!
@Freeglerock Whoo Hoo! I am doing the happy dance with you!! You are doing awesome!
@brown6267 Amazing steps! Were you able to sort out the fitbit issue. I remember mine wouldn't synch every once in a while but forget what I did to correct it. Looks like it is a MFP issue from what you posted.
@1theresamcvean What a loss! You have been doing so well. It is nice that you son noticed too. Love your goals! You got this!! Btw-Shannon and I were talking about cute names and of course I had to mention Pippa! I just love that name. I am glad to hear Wendy seems to be hanging in there. I felt so bad for her when she couldn't get home. She was lucky to get you.
@bburrer30 You are really doing well! I have had posts disappear before too, it is frustrating. I hope your grandmother is ok. I will keep her in my prayers. I understand why they don't want family members being with her but I really think they should let one person in, especially with confused patients. It would make things easier on your grandmother and it would actually make things easier for the nurses. I hope she is better and discharged soon. I am also sorry about your dog, that looks like it hurts! Poor Ada! I hope he is feeling better soon too. Sending prayers and hugs. xo
@melaniedscott You had a great 2 days! Plus all that gardening! I am hoping that 2020 turns around soon.5 -

Honestly, no idea. Saw it growing on someone's fence while out walking. Reminds me of one my gran had on her spiral staircase but hers were solid colored dark purple. I suck at gardening and growing anything but weeds...so I take pictures of other people's flowers. Usually I take the photos at the botanical gardens 70 mins away...but they've been closed/ highly restricted this season. Maybe in a couple weeks.2 -

I honestly feel like I lost a bit more than this, but I will take it just the same. My younger son wanted me to make pizza last night, so we did eat pizza and it was later too. There are a few large marches scheduled here in Toronto this weekend and I really hope that we continue to keep it peaceful. I am seeing some fantastic losses above! The team has lost 23.9 lbs so far this week, and I notice that some weeks the majority loses together in a big way. Apologies for those short posts, but I hope to catch up with everyone tomorrow. I feel like have repeated grades 4 and 8 this spring!3 -

Sorry team. No clue. I hoped for a pound down. Yesterday I basically didn’t eat except breakfast Bc I had a lot going on. Today I’m a half pound up.
I def am losing inches but may be holding more water due to stress.

@1theresamcvean and @melaniedscott I am pretty sure that is a passion flower that you all are talking about.
@lennoncpa nice loss! How much more till goal?
@ademann1 nice way to start the month! congrats!
@Cafelelia we take all loss and rejoice. Think how easily it goes up. No worries you have done a tremendous job of captaining this team for a very good amount of time. We always post what we can when we can. no pressure.
@sleepymom5 you knew this was going to be a good weigh in! Good for you Pam.

Daily check in Thursday-
Cleanse Day 5 went well. Still juicing.
yoga-hard upper arms-done
sleep 9 hours again. Wow
I started out July 2018 and hit my goal 2019. I was steady and faithful and successful that whole year. July 2019-December 2019 I still did an admirable job with maintenance and managed to stay within a few pounds of goal both over and under. January and February struggled with health and went below goal. March, April and May are the first times since I have been on this site that I really started struggling. I recognize that there have been lots of reasons to be stressed or engage in overeating and stress eating. During the time I used to think what is my payoff for being overweight? This morning I realize that being overweight and out of control causes me to think obsessively about food, being overweight and feeling very anxious about it. That's my payoff. I don't have to worry how I feel about too much else since I am buried in food issues again. The payoff is the "known". It is very familiar territory to me since I was young. I have seen my mom do it her whole life and that is what I do too. But that's not me. I don't have to choose those patterns for myself. Not today.
I am feeling so much healthier with this cleanse. I am wondering if it is all the nutrients from the juices or the fact that I am not eating sugar, gluten, soy, yeast, corn, etc. etc. all things that have reputations for causing issues. Maybe it is a combo of both. As I transition next week I plan to be mindful of how certain foods affect my body.
On this cleanse I have had the most bizarre cravings. I have been vegan for 1 1/2 years but I have craved lamb chops, pot roast, crock pot pork shoulder, whiskey, churros, wine and beer, thick garlic bread. I just laugh about it. I am not sure if it is my body telling me that I have deficiencies and need certain things or if it is this stuff detoxing out of my body.
Again another long night of sleep that I am profoundly grateful for. I feel so blessed.
TGIF!
