@Cornanda Thank you, I'm excited to go back but also nervous!
@buniphuphu Wow, congrats on the decision to take control over your health again and congrats on the loss. That's fantastic! Thanks re: the loss and for going back to work. At least going back part-time keeps my foot in the door so to speak, some people are losing their job.
@TeresaW1020 Thanks, I am going to try!!! I love Kohls. For a short time, I worked there. I hated working there but I am an avid shopper of Kohls. You WILL get into those clothes, I know it! Nice goals for August.
@Tracey0088 I, too, wanted to use my time off work wisely. At first, I tried to stimulate my brain by doing tutorials and courses and such. That worked for a while but then I got lazy and now I'm just focusing on my health. My goal was to lose 20 lbs by the time I went back to work and I've lost 22 and I'm going back to work tomorrow. Go, you! Go, team!
Hi everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. I'm going to try to do some meal prep today so that my first week back to work is not complicated by having to come home and cook as well. Here are some of the things I'm going to cook. If you want any of the recipes, let me know:- Green Chile Shredded Beef Cabbage Bowl with Avocado Salsa (Slow Cooker or Pressure Cooker)
- Heavenly Hummus Wrap
- Best Damn Air Fryer Pork Tenderloin + Maple Miso Roasted Carrots
- Crunchy Rainbow Thai Peanut Chicken Wraps
- Instant Pot Shredded Chicken Tacos

Welcome to the new members! My name is Jennifer and I am a single mom of 3 adult children - son is 24 and in the Navy (currently deployed, his ship just set a record - 200 days at sea with no port calls due to COVID…but his ship is returning soon), oldest daughter is 23 and lives with her husband about an hour south of me, and my youngest daughter is 20 and just got engaged. She lives at home and is attending the local community college (online) and working. I work in Community Development for my county in Michigan (been there 15 years now) and work at home 4 days per week and go into the office on Tuesdays. I also love love love to rubber stamp and make cards and (rarely) scrapbook. I'm an active member of my church, but also love horror. Rare combo, I know. I've been vegan for over 8 years, but fell into the usual junk food/fast food/convenience food trap and now I have about 40 pounds to lose. I'm your typical yo-yo'er, but I don't want to be anymore. Why does food have to taste so dang good?!?
I've been in this group for several months now and love the comraderie. I’m recovering from my second ankle surgery in which a torn peroneal tendon was replaced. I am currently in the walking boot and will be for about 3 more weeks. Then into a brace. Not sure how much actual exercise I can do right now, other than focusing on my arms…which, Murphy’s Law, I managed to hurt my shoulder (hoping it’s just a muscle tear and not a rotary cuff tear). Trying to baby it a bit right now. I think I’m going to focus on my 5 habits for the habit tracker for the month of August. I’m still pondering what those will be, but plan on adding them today.
P.S. Any horror fans on here? Always looking for movie and book recommendations

@TeresaW1020 thanks for the reminder on the Habit tracker. I’m going to list my goals for the month and see how good I do😬. Saturday was not great at all - didn’t even log anything that I ate since we had a family get-together. Needless to say, it was a bad day! Hoping to get back on track today.
Good luck to the team this month!!6 -

Congratulations! Did you see jealousy in that congrats? No, how amazing to hit milestones and goals. Keep up whatever you are doing that is working. I’m experimenting with calories/macros and fat burning exercise to see if I can get the scale to move into the 180s. I set my goal at what I thought was reasonable. I know I am going to want to move those posts WHEN I hit 185 pounds. CW today is 195.3 down 1.4 pounds from yesterday. I think I am likely Insulin Resistant due to years of Yo Yo dieting.2 -

Wahooooo!! Look at how awesome we were this week!! 72.5 lbs down as a team are amazing! I am so proud of us and I know that we are going to have an amazing August! I also hope that everyone will go and look at this week's challenge. I actually think we do a very good job at getting to know each other.
@Tracey0008 Welcome to the team Tracey! You have had a lot to deal with and worry about. It’s good that you are taking steps towards getting fit and healthy and I’m sure you will wow your co-workers with your progress when you return to work!
@gwamajtw91 Yayyyy a fellow intermittent faster! You have great goals for August and I am sure you are going to crush them. Just stay committed to yourself.
@Katmary71 I am sorry that the men in your life are causing you so much stress. I agree that you really shouldn’t have to deal with anything that doesn’t fit into your recovery. I love cats!! I sure wish my husband did.
@anido1 Good I hope that the habit tracker helps you with your goals. I’m going to work really hard to make sure I use it every day too.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Yup water retention will definitely up the weight. It sure does with me. You will get it off this week!
@trooworld I sure hope you have a good time being back at work. It will be an adjustment and you will probably be extra tired so please make sure to take care of yourself.
Hi everyone! Today, was a good day. I did an extra-long workout this morning and then deep cleaned my bedroom and bathroom. We did Livestream church this morning, so I watched it on YouTube while I cleaned. I fasted 21 hours and for dinner, we had grilled burgers, roasted red potatoes, and baked beans. Tomorrow, I have to take my mom to get eye surgery to repair some scar tissue from her cataract surgery. My plan is to fast all day until dinner, which we will eat around 4 pm. My weight is up from Friday and Saturday’s overindulgences and too much wine so I need to reign it in. I do a weekly average on my weight every Friday and right now the number ain’t looking good!

Hi. I'm Jackie. I live in Southern Ontario, Canada with my hubby of 30yrs and 1 of our 2 adult kids. I've been part of this group for 2yrs. I'm down 25lbs from my heaviest and currently hovering around 199 for the past 2 months so it's time to get the scale moving again.
I was working in a chocolate factory precovid so being home hasn't hurt my weight loss efforts. Although things are opening up in our area I still stay home as much as I can. In the past few months I've been doing more stamping and card making which I used to do as a part time business.
My goals for August are
1. No sugar
2. Weights 3x per week
3. 20 min of cardio per day.
4. At least 15k steps per day
5. Log my food
Welcome to all the new members. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.2 -
Sunday check in
Yesterday I had pizza for supper followed by chips so I was a little worried I'd be ravenous today but I was able to keep my eating in check and get in some exercise. My steps are still a little shy of my goal but I'll see if I can get more in before bedtime.
I'm looking forward to using the habit tracker this month.

Hey guys 1st week I guess I just started a couple of days ago but wanted to add my info.5 -
@Tracy0088 You did incredible for not having any sleep, great job accomplishing so much.
@Bettyboag welcome to the gang, can't wait to get to know you!
@trooworld All of your recipes sound awesome! Especially hummus, I can't decide what I miss more, sweetener in my coffee or beans. I've never made pork tenderloin before, I've never even bought pork aside of bacon a couple times. I need to start frequenting paleo blogs so I can figure out what to do with lean meat, especially chicken breasts since I eat chicken the most. Is the Instant Pot recipe chicken with taco seasonings? I do salsa chicken all the time, I had the guy I'm seeing cook one night and he made a really good chicken taco recipe that I helped him adapt to the Instant Pot.
@vegan4lyfe2012 I had to laugh when you mentioned your combination of loves. I was so relieved when I walked into the kitchen at church to feed the homeless and the guy in charge was covered in tattoos and in a death metal band. I always would wonder what they'd think if they saw the music I listen to but he listens to way harder stuff than I do! We rocked out until the rest of the gang got there then I got to talk creepy books with another, my people! What kind of horror do you like best? I like psychological thrillers the best but Clive Barker is interesting though a little bloody (skip the Books of Blood if you don't want gruesome), I remember Weaveworld was good. I still have all my favorites, haven't bought horror in awhile, but my mom worked at a bookstore and would give my brother and I all hardback books for Christmas from the discount table, talk about the best Christmas ever! Oh, another trippy horror series is Brian Lumley's Necroscope series, that's one of my favorites! Shoot, someone just reminded me of Anne Rice so all hers are by my bed, now I need to get down the necroscopes! If you like ones that are freaky to read right now with COVID check out Robin Cook. I need to find Stephen King's The Stand, that's perfect for now!
@anido1 August 2 or 3 is a great day to start, doesn't need to be the first, just keep doing your best, you got this!
@TeresaW1020 Tomorrow is surgery day for people in my life too, my Dad's having cataract surgery as well. I hope your mom's scar tissue removal goes well, prayers for the surgeon's hands and your mom's recovery.
@Jactop great goals! I forgot you worked at a chocolate factory! There's no way I could survive that, chocolate is my weakness. Time to get further from the big 200, congratulations for getting under it and maintaining!

@kingtika12 Good job maintaining, the week's not done yet!
Sunday check-in
Calories- under
Exercise- chair dance, arm resistance bands, crazy leg stretching resistance bands and hip openers so I can do the splits, stretching yoga, 5 Tibetans, Kundalini meditation, 7 chakra meditation (loved this one), earth energy healing, foam rolling
Water- great!
Cardio 30 minutes- done
Arm/abs- done
Yoga- done
Meditation- done
Tibetans- done
Steps- 9, 796- In other words, I'm totally going to walk around to hit 10,000 even though I fully realize it's stupid and will irritate my legs more!
OK, for those of you also dealing with injuries, I've been using different topicals to help my legs. I discovered last night that castor oil actually DOES help! I bought it for my hair but read about how it helps inflammation and didn't expect anything but my muscles stopped twitching as much and loosened up a bit. Miracle! I'll have to figure out how much I can dilute it with other oils, it's like rubbing motor oil on your body plus it's stinky. I might try making marijuana oil since I can't smoke any of my medical marijuana without getting worse nerve pain so it'd be used for something worth a try (plus it was expensive, I hate to just toss it).
Had a great day, in a good place mentally, spiritually, and managed to get a little housework done before my body burned out, just need to keep listening to my body more. I've managed to lose weight faster than I ever have and I'm eating at a small deficit, not sure if it's the first week of the diet or what, I'll have to keep an eye on things as I'm only a couple pounds from where I want to stay, higher than before but I was too thin at 122. The more I read about Ayurveda and food that causes nerve pain the more I'm feeling the pressure to cut coffee, eggs, garlic, mushrooms, and onions along with nightshades. I eat a lot of salsa and hot sauce, add garlic and onions to everything, I'd have to get rid of at least half my Penzey spices, I add heat to everything! And salt is bad too. I love iced herbal tea and it's supposed to be warm. It's 100 degrees outside! Then white meat is questionable but it's the only protein I can eat at this point even though it's not organic grass-fed. I guess I'll keep making changes as I go, the genetic testing should be back soon and that'll help put the nail in the coffin or not for some things. The spiritual stuff I'm studying says no angry music (my favorite but I listen to everything), no gory movies or books, or negativity of any kind. But creepy movies and books are FUN! And who does hardcore cardio to country or pop? Well, now it's me! I'm REALLY trying here but I'm not in the mood to watch a love story on TV right now, no matter how sweet it is! I just borrowed a bunch of cool sci fi movies, is that considered negative? Will I even be me in a year? I kinda like being a spazz! I'm so desperate to heal that I'm willing to keep trying just about everything to NOT end up on a bunch of drugs again so if it means spinning in circles chanting until I get dizzy and fall what the heck, I just wish I still lived in Santa Cruz when I decided to really get into all of this!5 -
Hi Everyone ☺️ I am married with 3 kids living in Australia. 2020 has been terrible and my weight gain confirms it! I am definitely carrying extra Covid kg’s- heaviest I have ever been. Looking forward to gaining back control however this time want to make changes that I can continue with long term.
Looking forward to the team motivation spirit and the level of accountability it brings 👍6 -
These posts are fantastic! I’m logging in couple times per day and today is just my 3rd official day .
If I was to work in a chocolate factory, no employee discount in the world could have saved me from going bankrupt

On a personal level I realized that my slip ups are mostly in the weekends. Last weekend we had the first in person book club since March ( an OK book but with some too stretched situations to increase the dramatic effects, for my taste. I can’t get invested in a book when I’m rolling my eyes every other page. But I’m proud of myself for finishing it). The meeting was at a winery and the 9 of us brought food, so I had about 1000 extra calories- “good” day. Next day, +2.0 lb.
This weekend my 21 yo daughter had her friend over to work on school stuff. So I cooked and also ordered out their favorites and I’m +0.4 lb only.
Water weight or so, but doing better considering that I compare 2.5 days to one meal.
The new hurricane is supposed to come in this area tomorrow and I’m not a panicky person, but the director sent an email with a new project code to use on all hurricane related costs or extra hours. First pre-calamity code , so how do I read this calmly?
The step tracker does not open for me, I tried many times, so I would post the steps here later in the week.

@vegan4lyfe2012 You already know I love horror books but I also love horror movies!
@TeresaW1020 Thanks! I'm really looking forward to it, I love my job. I just hope that certain departments don't hear that I'm back and try to monopolize my time and stretch me too thin. Thanks for the reminder to take care of myself...you are right, I hadn't thought of me being extra tired but I will be: I haven't worked in a long time! I hope your mom's surgery goes well. I also hope your weight goes down.
@Katmary71 Thanks! I'd miss both sweetener and beans. The instant pot shredded chicken tacos doesn't have taco seasoning, it has: salsa, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, and salt & pepper. Here's the link to the recipe, if you are interested: https://midwestfoodieblog.com/instant-pot-shredded-chicken-tacos/#tasty-recipes-22895 Fair warning: I've never made it so I don't know if it is good or not. I hope it is since it is our "Friday Night Special" LOL!!! Oh no, getting rid of 1/2 of your Penzeys hurts my heart! I love Penzeys! And salt is bad? OH man, I feel for you. And no angry music? I'm out!!!
@GabiV125 I hate books like that! I agree, you just can't enjoy them.
Hello everyone! Well, I didn't get all the meal prepping done that I wanted but I did some of it which will help. I have to start getting ready for my first day back at work soon, so I wish you all a great day and stay safe and healthy!

Hi all, My name is Leona. I'm 47 years old and I live in Albuquerque, NM. I've struggled with weight issues my entire life. I had lost 50 pounds back in 2013 only to put it all back on over the past 6 years. I'm working on this daily, trying to not let the ups and downs keep me DOWN.
I've been struggling with health issues for the past few years. While I FINALLY have my migraines under control after about 20 years of horrible pain, I am not struggling with neck issues. I had an MRI done 2 weeks ago and my left arm has been numb this past week. I got a referral to a neurosurgeon. I am pretty nervous about this! Any experience y'all have had is welcome! Good luck everyone!3 -

I also had psoriasis on my hands that $1k plus in meds couldn't touch. Once he started working on my neck my psoriasis cleared up. I thought it was a coincidence but when I'd start to get that itch I'd go for an adjustment and it would disappear.
I stopped going to the chiro as I find if I keep my inflammation under control I don't have the nerve/numbness issues. I'm not sure if everyone's different but for me that means no sugar and no dairy. If I cave and have either I wake the next morning with numb hands. I'm curious if that would've been the fix for me years ago.

Good Morning;
I am so excited to be part of this group and this challenge. I have 19 pounds to lose from the COVID lockdown. I so appreciate all of your warm welcome. @Katmary71 I do think we have been friends in the past... Excited to be back.
My day for weigh-in is Fridays, and I plan to be a great asset to this team. Let's get FIRST PLACE again this month. You guys did amazing 1.76% loss last month is AMAZING!
I am a high school math teacher, and this year is starting online and is a sad and hard situation. One of the hard parts for me is that I will be sitting at a computer everyday for 6 plus hours instead of walking around my classroom. It was a really struggle to get in a good number of steps last spring when we went virtual.
Regardless, my 5 habits this month are going to be:
1. Walk at least 12,000 steps per day
2. Eat between 1200 to 1300 calories per day
3. Drink at least 120 ounces of fluids
4. Do not eat after 8 pm
5. Quiet time reflection and prayer
Finally, if anyone is a prayer warrior, I would love prayer for:
1. My school year as I try to teach AP Calculus, Dual Enrollment Precalculus and Algebra at a Title 1 High school.
2. My 25 year old daughter found a lump in her breast last week. She is going in for an ultrasound next week (with covid everything is so delayed). Please pray it is a cyst or something benign
Let's have a great week!

Weeeelllllll..... I did not read any posts over the weekend, so I just took in a very large amount of information. Great to read all the bios! So cool we have so many new members! So many inspiring efforts going on with this group! Yay us! Thinking of those with medical issues and going back to work today........5

This was on my Instagram yesterday.....
It takes the average person 60 minutes to burn 250-300 calories.
Yet, the average person can eat 250-300 calories in just a few minutes.
To put it another way--- You can't outrun a fork.9 -
