Wednesday check in
Today has been really good - day 3 of no alcohol in an effort to have more food because I have been keeping the calorie numbers as low as is reasonable. So cals are under, water is slightly over which is a trend improvement over the past several days. Steps are nearly 15,000 - this is actually a sweet spot for me and is a game changer for the weight loss. When I consistently get this many and take care to really put in an effort for speeding it up, it boosts the burn and I tend to lose weight more easily (as long as I don't eat the difference). The drawback is that it really takes two intentional walks and is a bit of a time suck so it's not always possible without going to extremes. Sleep.....eh, you see it's already past bedtime... => Hitting send and then hitting the pillow!!
@Tracey0088 you are doing so well, I love the stats you are keeping! Congrats and have fun at the wedding, please do check in if you get a spare moment... => So agree on the shift in perspective to bypassing treats. I remind myself that I always have a choice and while mostly I choose a path to my goals, I always have the choice to indulge if I want to. No deprivation, only choices. My Ma has a beagle and boy is tha girlie spoiled!
@GabiV125 great loss this week (WOOT!) and you made me grin! I have been known to think my ears might bleed if I hear more about work but I think mostly I want him to know I love talking to him so I just listen, too. I see the F2F as a challenge more with myself - my personal perspective. It's also a really neat way to be engaged with likeminded folks and yeah - we have a neat, conversational style that is easy on the eyes and brain at the end of the day. =>
@vegan4lyfe2012 enjoy the vacay!!! It's always so nice to get away, even when we can't get out as much as before - still a change of scenery sure is nice.
@TeresaW1020 oh, so sorry about a headache - makes the day justs crawl by! Hopefully you can get a great night's sleep and wake up refreshed and ready to take the worl on!
@Jactop you added a checkmark - I see progress!! Here's to having 4 tomorrow (and extra special WOOTs for **5**!!!)
@buniphuphu love the thought and wise words you shared with @Cornanda about seeing the success in the good choices made right after the less desireable choice - every next bite or meal is an opportunity to improve.
@GretchenReine WOW, super weigh in, congrats to YOU!!! =>
@trooworld and @Bettyboag you guys had really great days meeting goals and clicking things off, very nice!
@katmary71 hey, a guy who comes around with good recipes and can appreciate a girl's need to have her space and routine is pretty amazing to have come around for visits! Nothing at all wrong with stating what we need and then moving about doing what we need for ourselves. I have a motto about this, too (for like - everything) which is - 'what I do for me is not done against someone else.' I've been told my habits and needs are high maintenance but I think that's ok because I'm perfectly willing to do the maintenance for myself. I must point out - the current administration isn't the one who said it so....I kinda rest my case.3 -
Hey gang! Quick peek in! Gabi, we're happy to have you too!
Wednesday check-in
Calories- under
Exercise- arm cardio, abs, stretching for splits with resistance bands, Kundalini meditation, earth energy healing, 7 chakra meditation
Water- great
Cardio 30 minutes- done
Arms/abs- done
Yoga- done
Meditation- done
I really need to get some recipes going again, instead I'm pouting over what I can't eat and I'm craving chocolate really bad (women know why!)! Last night cravings were ridiculous, tonight I'm just craving sweetness so I'll have a frozen banana and mango for dessert.1 -
Wednesday check in: Not sure how often we are supposed to check in, but I figure every couple of days works for me.
Monday I hit 4 of my 5 habit goals. Did not hit my quiet reflection goal. I did not feel well at all. However, I did stay within my calorie goal of 1200 - 1300, I walked over 12,000 steps, drank over 120 ounces and stopped eating before 8 pm.
Tuesday was another story. I was feeling really bad and I decided I needed to take it easy and eat at mantenance. I only walked about 6000 steps, and ate about 1800 calories
Wednesday: I am working on hitting all 5 goals today, feeling much better.
I love reading everyone's updates, and I am looking forward to see how we do this week.2 -
It’s check in Wednesday!!! So happy I actually checked all 3 on my habit tracker - that’s a first🤣. I walked a little bit over 8k steps and I was determined to get to my daily calorie goal on my watch. After dinner I went another 20 minutes on the bike. Hoping to get to 10k at some point and go over 500 calories daily. Too bad strides on the bike don’t convert to steps☹️. Thanks to everyone for their stories and motivation❤️
Good night everyone and hope tomorrow’s just as productive as today😄.1 -
Happy Thursday y'all! It is Thursday, right? Please tell me it's Thursday! I need this week to be over! LOL
Yesterday after lunch I got sick to my stomach and started having bad cramps and all so I didn't make it to the gym. I was actually in bed trying to not throw up by 6pm I think. My 11 year old kept checking in on momma to make sure she felt ok. We ended up laying in bed and watching Rio. I'm actually anxious to get to the gym tonight. I would really like to be able to get a streak going. It's hard making myself go when I don't have someone to workout with. The ironic thing is...I love the alone time of the gym! LOL
Today's goal is tracking my food, getting to the gym for at least an hour on the treadmill (preferably 90 minutes), pool time with my mini me, hit my steps and mile goal for the day, no sodas, no sweets, and not get sick. PMS and food don't mix well for me lately. I guess this is an advanced age joy...I don't know.
I hope everyone has a great day!1 -
Tracey0088 congratulations on your son’s wedding!!!!
Enormous milestone for him and for you!
Please dance for all of us, cheering from the sides2 -
GabiV125 Nice loss this week! Keep up the great work!

@Tracey0088 Congrats on your son’s upcoming wedding! Birthdays and weddings are very special times so I encourage you to enjoy and not stress about the extra calories. Just make sure to dance your butt off at the reception! :grin I listen to Gin Stephen’s Intermittent Fasting Stories and The Intermittent Fasting podcast that Gin does with Melanie Avalon. Both are incredibly good! I hear you about not thinking you can do IF. I had heard about it a year or two before I ever seriously considered it. I never would have thought that I could give up breakfast and switching from sweet creamy coffee to just plain black coffee was a battle but now I love my black coffee and can’t even imagine eating breakfast. But you are right that we all have to find what works for us. For me, calorie counting simply didn’t work and was never something I felt I could do for life. Intermittent fasting isn’t a diet, it’s my lifestyle.
@Katmary71 Have you ever tried frozen grapes? Very tasty!!
@LynnJ9 You check in as often as you want to. I’m sorry that you weren’t feeling well but it looks like you still did really good with your goals.
@GabiV125 You are right that this group is more chat than challenge. There is always going to be a challenge you can do on the main page and we encourage that. But here in this group, I think our main challenge is sharing our lives and encouraging each other in their health journey. We are a community and I am so glad that you are having fun. And hey, good job on working on your man exam. That’s a toughie for sure! :grin
@anido1 Good job on sticking with your habit tracker!! Thanks for the reminder that I need to go check mine off.
@GretchenReine Yes girl it’s Thursday! So sorry that you got sick but glad you are feeling better.
Good morning! My staff meeting got pushed back an hour which gave me some time to come and check in on your all. I am so happy to see so many of your consistently posting. We are going to have a great month!

@GretchenReine - Wow! I am so sorry abotu your rough day yesterday. Your plan for today sounds great! Hope things are going well! 👐🏽
@anido1 - What a great day you had, wow! Thank you for motivating US! 🎉
@LynnJ9 - Hurray for your feeling better yesterday, after Tuesday was rough. It's so great that you kept track of your food on all the days, so when you ate more, you still kept things reasonable. Super smart! 👍🏽
@Katmary71 - Your checkins inspire me every time, especially your workouts! And yay you for finding a healthy, smart dessert choice! I love mangos, too. (I am shopping today and hope to get some!) ❤️
@raleighgirl09 - 👍🏽 SO glad you had such a great day! And that the no-alcohol practice is going well. It sure is a great way to decrease calories. Two walks a day -- impressive commitment and determination! Whatever works for you to get healthier!
👉🏾 I was on the phone last night with a friend who was wishing she had lost more weight so far this year. She has made some huge changes to her eating, but her alcohol consumption is up, and it's cancelling out her other work. She heard as she talked about it -- just like people talking here, online, getting stuff like that said can open up the space to make new choices. So, yay to all of us here for getting in communication about what we are up to!
@Tracey0088 - Oh, my, please set aside any feeling of failure if you don't check in these next couple of days during the wedding celebration. Enjoy the wedding and your grandson's birthday, make the best choices you can. Check in if it supports you and otherwise put us on the calendar for the day after, when you can hit a happy reset. Enjoy your sons wedding! Congratulations! 🎉
Just a quick callout to say -- what great thinking about all this! I hear you being so kind and encouraging to yourself! (I am a huge believer in our getting better by being happy with ourselves and kind to ourselves!)I have a hard time passing up my favorite cake; Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake. So just a nibble. I’m relearning that I am not punishing myself by passing things up, but developing self discipline
@GabiV125 - Aww, yay! Your checkin is so happy and sensible! Taking small steps, changing head as well as actions, being kind to yourself -- all brilliant choices! I hoe we can keep being a space to support that for you!
❤️This feels more like a pleasant chat than a challenge! I’m having so much fun!
This time around my approach is just that, to shush the negative talk in my head, to focus on things I like, spend more time outside even if it feels like a sauna sometimes, to listen more, to call the people I truly like.
Maybe the execution of said plan is not perfect...
@TeresaW1020 - I hope you are feeling better today! Sending hugs! 👐🏽👐🏽👐🏽
And as for the numbers this week -- you SO know the drill, fearless leader! I know you won't let yourself get stopped if it's not the number you want this week! Keep on doing!
@vegan4lyfe2012 - 🏆 WOW! I so love that you have arranged for a kitchenette ion your vacation so you can keep up with the healthy eating! SO smart! So inspiring!
@Jactop - Your looking at your sleep data has ME thinking, so thanks for sharing your analysis and thinking.
ANd a huge WOW 😮 to hearing this from the front lines of a chocolate store:Week 3 is a big deal in developing habits. At the chocolate store where I work we joke about this trend. The first 2 weeks in Jan are always our slowest of the year with resolutions and people trying to shed holiday pounds. Week 3 our sales jump right back up to normal.
@buniphuphu - It is so excellent to see you, too!
The colored circles are emojis. I copy and paste them from https://emojipedia.org/. I am glad you like them I do, too!4 -

Yesterday I had plans with my friend to go for a walk. It’s a 20-25 min drive to her house and I worked from home , out at 3 , she’s having a big implementation at work so couldn’t get out until 5:45. I got there just as some black clouds were gathering. I’m just saying that either one of this would have stopped me before, but we walked for an hour with umbrellas on and off. And it did not feel like a chore, but like a reward!
I’m off now to have a talk with my cat who’s having her second hair ball this morning, and it’s not even 8 AM3 -

LTD MFP #2 63.9 lbs
LTD overall 128.9 lbs

Ahhhhh, have you ever started a post and then wandered off........??? This was me last night. So here is what I had to say then and I'll catch up more later with a Friday check in!!! =>
Ok - so - 4 days and a wake up to be 170.anything but I reallyREALLY want 169.anything - and I think I can do that, at the very least to the least of that, the .2 pounds. I don't think I'll make any other weight goals by a certain date - it's stressful. But because the date is really important (birthday) and the number is really important (lowest weight as an adult) the two have collided. =>
@Katmary71 I am remiss – what things can you not have and have? I love researching recipes, it would be fun to research some and pass along for your review!
@LynnJ9 hey – check in when ya want, when ya can, when ya need to….. => No wrong answers! The most important is whatever you do consistently, one or two days won’t be the bold print in this chapter; deep dive on thinking about what you feel was not your best effort – learn from that – and improve. It’s wonderful how freeing a ‘mistake’ can feel when you see it as an opportunity to grow and continue your journey.

@MommaGemz - Woohoo! Awesome weigh-in! 🥳 Love that LTD and your graph! Keep up the excellent work!
@Bettyboag - Hurray to meeting you no alcohol goal! And great work on dinnertime! Even if you missed your actual goal, having it had you pay attention and get that much closer to where you want to be!
And double hurray to your being down this week! Keep up the great work!
@gwamajtw91 - Down for the week! Hurray!
@TeresaW1020 - Woohoo! Here's to your leadership by example!Goes to show that we should never throw in the towel. Earlier in the week, I thought for sure that I would have a gain. But I kept doing my thing and the scale finally dropped last night.
@GabiV125 - What an inspiring choice! Hurray for not stopping!
P.S. I hope your kitty feels better.Yesterday I had plans with my friend to go for a walk. It’s a 20-25 min drive to her house and I worked from home , out at 3 , she’s having a big implementation at work so couldn’t get out until 5:45. I got there just as some black clouds were gathering. @harrismary225 - You go! What a great weigh-in!
@trooworld - It sounds like you are right back on plan after your takeout meal. Keep up the great work! 😀2 -
@AustinRuadhain I agree that our Habit Tracker is going well this month with several of our members. I’m even managing to remember to go and check off those green boxes.

@raleighgirl09 Yayyy for a downward weigh-in this week! I totally stopped trying to set weight loss goals for a certain date for myself. I never make them and I always end up being more upset with myself. You would be better off to just stick to being committed to doing your very best from now until your birthday. That way when your birthday gets here you don’t have to have the number be the thing but the fact that you stuck to your commitment to do your best. What do you think? You know that 170 IS going to happen. Can you cut yourself a break?
@trooworld What about using a straw and then you can just sneak it up under your mask. Or you can guzzle a bunch of water before you go to work and then at your break and once you get off. Unless you can’t run to the bathroom as much as you need to. I swear I could never have a job where I couldn’t go to the bathroom. My bladder simply wouldn’t comply!
Hi everyone! So, today was a pretty good day. I did week 7 of Barre Blend lean legs and LIIFT 4 arms and shoulder weights. I wiped at my kitchen and did the laundry. I fast for 20 hours today but was hungry so ate a little more than I normally would. But that is OK becasue I cut myself some slack on Fridays and this evening I plan to have a 2 or 3 glasses of wine with my hubby. We are starting the final season of Justified so it should be a fun and very violent night. Cheers!

Hello!
Weigh in day: Friday
Previous Weight: 149.7 pounds
Current Weight: 147.9 pounds
Lost: 1.8 pounds this week
Total Lost to Date: 31.6 pounds6 -
@raleighgirl09 It's Paleo with a few extras removed because I'm picky. I can only have healthy fats (I hate coconut and avocados though), lean meat, veggies aside of potatoes and corn (supposed to stop nightshades, eggs, and coffee too but I grow tomatoes, I CAN'T while I have homegrown tomatoes!), and fruit. No dairy, sweetener, beans and legumes, red or fatty meat (just don't really care for it), gluten. It's a pain trying to find stuff, I found a couple chicken sausages, salsas, and tomato sauce and the rest are whole foods, chicken breasts, or ground turkey. Trader Joe's has some good finds that aren't too expensive.
@TeresaW1020 Sounds like a great workout, you could use some extra fuel! What is Justified about?
Hey gang! Sorry for not commenting more, the drive in my laptop is going out and it's hard to sit at my desk since I need my legs elevated, I had to wrap up meditation because it started smelling like burning wire and hums like a drill, it's really annoying! I'll have to get it fixed, school starts in two weeks. It'll land me somewhere between 10-15 electronic repairs since COVID, the screen was just replaced and I got it not even 2 years ago. I SWEAR I'm one of those people whose magnetic field screws up technology, I have more Fitbit problems than anyone I know but I've replaced or gotten refunds on so many things lately I think it's ME! Thank goodness I have a computer engineer for a dad and am dating a guy whose computer-smart, I'm good with computers aside of needing them repaired constantly!
Friday workout
Calories- probably will be borderline, I'm craving nuts and fruit like crazy lately.
Exercise- chair cardio (lots of punching!), FItness Marshall Alejandro, abs, stretching/yoga with resistance bands for the splits, 5 Tibetans, and a few minutes of meditation, just not into it with over-thinking my health issues. Earth energy healing and mopping the floor.2
