Smack dab in the middle of TOM but haven't seen this number on the scale in over a year so feeling pretty defeated. I don't think I misbehaved that bad this past week but I need to be better disciplined and focused. Onto next week...5 -

I spent my Friday with a migraine, but feeling much better now (Saturday evening here.)
"Factoid Friday": it is much harder than you think to build muscle and you can't 'convert fat into muscle'. Apart from newbie gains when you first start heavy lifting, it can take months of heavy lifting and eating at a minimum 10% calorie surplus to even gain a lb of muscle. However, a lb of muscle does take up less space than fat so you can weigh heavier and look leaner. Also by lifting weights even while eating at a calorie deficit, you can force your body to maintain lean muscle rather than burning it along with fat for fuel, and as you lose fat you will look more muscular as you have maintained muscle and burned the fat away that was hiding it. 🙂5 -

Holy moly! Was not expecting such a big loss. I gained .2 last week because of ovulation so I knew I'd be down today but didn't expect a 2.4 pound loss! And I've officially lost 40 pounds!!11 -

After weighing in late in the evening last week, I was expecting this. I was actually hoping for a bit more, but oh well. I’ve done really well on exercise this week. My steps had dropped off a little, but with all of these power steppers we have now, I’ve tried to get them back up a little. Food has been so so. I do great in the mornings and usually decent at lunch but evenings suck!
I’ve been doing well with my trainer, she’s
actually a three time breast cancer survivor, so she’s a great encourager for me. Having someone that’s been through this before helping me, is wonderful! I have 6 more weeks with her.
I also found out last week that one of my best friends from college has breast cancer. It’s brought up so many emotions in me, Hers is actually triple positive where as mine was only her2 positive. Hers will probably be more difficult to treat. I feel so heart broken for her because I know exactly what she’s going through, and she just lost her boyfriend within the last few years to a freak accident involving a bee sting which led to allergic reaction and crash that killed him while he was working. She just started chemo yesterday. She’s also a teacher and a nurse which I’ve always admired her for doing both. Hopefully I can provide her some support and encouragement throughout this. I wish we lived closer so I could do more.
I’ve read through and caught up on all of the posts! Welcome to all of the new people! Thanks to those of you who mentioned my new profile pic! It’s great to finally have enough hair again that’s needing to be brushed! I really want to comment more, you all are so inspiring, but every time I go back on my phone to find the names it loses everything I have written! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Vacation is over. We are taking this weekend as rest days. Well we are going to get caught up on everything that needs to be done. I got up this morning and went for a 4 mile walk did food shopping so I am all set for next week and just ate a half of a turkey sandwich. My husband laughed at all my fruits and veggies I bought. I am going to make some protein balls later. I bought chicken for dinner and I am going to visit my granddaughter. 2 months from today I am having surgery so I better have lost some weight but then. I am getting very frustrated.3

Very pretty country where you're at @Melzz19. My husband worked in Williston on the DAPL for a while and I kick myself for not hiking more while he was out there.
Hey @gingerpwr I live in the Bitterroot!! Hope you had a chance to hike Blodgett Canyon while you were here... its gorgeous. Glacier is spectacular. Next you'll have to visit Yellowstone!
Some nice losses this week! WTG Team!!

Was so bummed about my big gain so I punished myself by stacking firewood most of the morning. Made better (more mindful) choices food wise and drank plenty of water. My garden is producing like crazy and I went to the Farmer's Market this morning to pick up some veggies I don't grow so am well stocked. Meals planned for the next few days. Need to focus more on consistency. One day at a time. I seem to be so all or nothing lately.6 -

Hi @Cafelelia and @1theresamcvean - can I be excused from weigh-in this week pretty please? I've been creatine-loading and working out twice per day all week (apart from Friday rest-day). My weight is consequently up around 6lbs from last Sunday, but it's purely from water retention and is fully expected with the creatine supplement. It should settle back down over the next week I think (hope?) and I'm actually feeling pretty good with the supplement. I'm mostly vegetarian so not getting creatine in my diet, hence the supplement.
Today hubby and I walked about 8km/4.97 miles along the coast, over the cliffs. I love that we're nearly in Spring here and the weather is good enough to go for our walks again! Depending on whether the tide is in or out, we either go along the beach/pipe-line walk, or over the cliffs, and sometimes climbing over large rocks if we go far enough. None of our kids came along today, but they often do. I am so thankful to have a body that is healthy enough that I can go out and exercise - I remember when these walks were difficult for me. Today, I burned almost 1000 calories but I was still able to walk up the final hill home!2 -

I have been reading all the posts every morning and will do my best to come back later and catch up with y'all. I have tracked my habits all week and have done well and my step totals have been higher than my goals so all in all this has been a successful week for me. Thanks again for allowing me to be on your team and I hope to get to know everyone better soon.5 -

I actually thought I walked way more than I did but I guess I did a lot of boat rides and train rides. That's ok I had fun. I went for a 4 mile walk yesterday and 3 today. I already started eating healthy again. We will see what the scale says Thursday. Today I plan on cleaning the house and sitting next to the pool . A little relax time before I go back to work tomorrow, the only people I want bothering me are my grandchildren.4
