Check in for the weekend
Food-good didn't log, stayed on plan
Water-over 64 oz
Exercise-at least 30 min/day plus PT
It took me so long to catch up that I don't have time to write. I have a really busy week ahead, I will explain tomorrow morning. Let's finish September strong team!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx Love the pics! Nice loss this week too.
@Melzz19 Nice loss! Glad you had a nice week! Interesting work you do. Love the pics, I have never been to the Badlands.
@KUMEcyclingteam Thanks for stepping up to the team motivator position! You are already doing an awesome job! Great job with the steps this week(except the phone shattering part). Hope your mom is feeling better too. Thanks for sharing your story too, you are right, not much you can do about genetics but being in the best shape you can be helps. I was an ICU nurse and your story reminded me about a time I was in with a patient when the cardiologist explained how the circulatory system rerouted for him too. He was in disbelief as well. The human body is amazing.
@mainebeachbum Nice loss this week!! Sorry about your ankle. I hope with resting that it is back to normal soon. That dinner with the chicken and carrot fries sounds delicious!
@debbiewsharpe Nice loss this week!!
It is a win that you cut your baking down, well, maybe not for your husband Lol! Great week, I like the idea of getting up and moving around when a food urge hits you. Win/win-steps and occupying your mind. Yes, I do have to get over listening to the clock for eating and start listening to my body instead.
@Zumba_Luvah Nice loss! It probably is a good time to start toning. You have been doing great with the weight loss.
@timibotkin a loss is a loss-you must have been doing better than you thought. I am glad you decided to go with it and get exercising!
@ljdanny Better than gaining! It is funny how tehe weather seemed to cool off pretty quick this September. It is making it hard for me to hold onto summer Lol! Sounds like you are prepped and ready for a successful week. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to ask for the recipe for the protein balls but am afraid that is something I would overeat. Lol!
@kirsten11872 Nice loss!
@Cafelelia Great pictures! Looks fun!
@CassieGetsFit2013 Maintaining isn't bad. Let's have a great week! I know you can do it!
@tryingagain5 Sounds like a busy weekend. I am glad the sale was so successful! I am also happy to hear about your raise.
@kandi3570 I am glad that you are down even with having a few treats. I am not sure where the party was at but if it was close enough, you can try to synch your fitbit. If you can synch it to your phone, it is nearby. You still have to search but it may narrow it down.
@minstrelofsarcasm I do have to look back when I start getting discouraged. Thanks for the reminder.

@sleepymom5
Good job on your weekend! Keep it up!
It was busy. Glad I didn't have to work Friday night. Thanks, we were glad the sale was successful too. It was hard to know if it would be or not and you never know with the weather with having it outside.
I was also happy and thankful to get a raise.1 -
@debbiewsharpe
Thanks, the raise was a pleasant surprise and having the sale do so well was also great.
Having a dinner every other month sounds like a lot of fun but also a lot of work. Doing that ad a fundraiser is a good idea. People love to eat!😉 I hope you will get to do it again too.1 -
Sunday check in
Good post-party day of IF, clean up, prep for the week and family time. To all of you Canadians on the team, Cdn Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks, so time to put together a plan! Hope that everyone has a good Monday!
@minstrelofsarcasm - Love you blog!3 -
Monday check in. I got my steps I’m short calories. It was a manic Monday with lots to do but since 630 when I got home it has been a very nice day. Me and my daughter cleaned and we’ve been listening to music tonight. It’s peaceful here for once. I hope you all have a good evening. And a great day tomorrow. I’m making a turkey roast and mashed potatoes for dinner tomorrow. I’m not sure what vegetable I’ll throw together. I still eat potatoes on occasion but a half of a cup is all I allow myself. I can have as much turkey and vegetables as I need to fill me.3

Monday check in
Steps 9319
Walk 26 min
Water 72 oz
Prelogged yep
Today I hit >30# lost. I’m averaging about 10# a month which is pretty good for where I’m at.
My new goal is Onederland by New Year’s Day. It’s totally possible if I stay on this track.
I got really close 5 years ago, made it to 206# but then a back injury derailed me. I very slowly gained it back, like 10# a years so it crept up without me noticing much day to day, which is kinda sad. I was busy with a kid in high school and increased responsibilities at work, building a house and moving. Now my work has settled down, kid’s in college, have no plans to move...so nothing should stop me! Right?! Halloween candy, Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas cookies........4 -

@xX_phoenixrising_Xx thats an awesome loss. Slow and steady is fine - right?

Worse than I thought *sighs* - back on plan this week!5 -
It is a pretty day here temp in the low 70s this afternoon. Quick trip to Costco this afternoon just to pick up hubby's hearing aid. No lines to wait in for that. Felt good to get out for a change.
I am still doing great, minor side effects from the Keytruda, the itching is just about gone! My hips hurt some but not too bad yet. Next treatment is next week. Hope nothing new pops up. Scan is two weeks later.2 -
Monday 9/21
Food: good
Water: not enough
Exercise: quick 10 minute light exercise
I had to get up early to go to an appointment. Nothing special, just a regular annual mammogram.
After the appointment I stopped by my dad's for a few minutes to see how he was doing. He's pretty healthy for an 86 year old.
Went home, had some supper and then napped for a couple hours before work.1 -

I like this saying. I tend to forget sometimes and compare myself to others, which does no good. They may or may not have had health issues, are in a different level athletically, etc. See, I do know not to do it.😉😁
I also liked this part of one of your earlier posts:
Y'all take care, stay safe and most of all stay focused. YOU, yes you- I'm talking to YOU - are YOU listening? YOU can and will do great this week. I look forward to congratulating YOU.
Thanks for the reminder to focus!3 -
Monday check in (super late)
I had a really good day yesterday. Eating was on plan and walked as well. Today was more stressful, mainly due to some work stress and school stuff fo that kids. But I am doing IF and sticking with things in general.
@pacsnc6 - Hope that the treatment continues to goes well, take care!
@podperson1 - Big hugs and please don’t get discouraged.
@mainebeachbum - Onederland by New Year’s Day sounds like a great goal! I will be so happy to kiss 2020 goodbye!1 -

Tuesday check in
Steps 9223
Walk 21 minutes
Water 56 oz
Food prelogged for breakfast and lunch, got lazy with supper because I have to type in a recipe
So I splurged and ordered the new Apple Watch. I’ve never had one before. I have birthday money (from March lol) that I never used, and I swear my FitBit is getting harder and harder to see unless it’s fairly dark, so I never can see it outside. I figured it’s my reward for the 30# loss. I think it will be helpful.
I was supposed to get my first tattoo with my birthday money, but my ankle fracture and Covid ended those plans! I’m thinking it would be better to get it once I’m at goal anyway. (I’ll probably chicken out....)5 -
So today felt like a marathon. I got my steps. I had 12000 before I left my 8 hour shift at work. I only got 1500 more after but I’ve been on my feet all day. It’s my moms bday. I made her a pineapple upside down cake and bought her a fifth of whiskey. Since she’s not much of a cake person but she is a traditions person. Pineapple upside down cake was one of my grandfathers favorites and she used to make it for him.
I got more calories than I wanted aka pineapple upside down cake. But that’s ok. I’ll do better tomorrow.
The roofer was here and said he would be back within a week! That’s exciting. He upped the price but I mean materials are up and I just want it done by winter.
And of course I cooked dinner. And I bumped my crock pot into the burner button so I melted the bottom of it. 🙄. I love my crock pot and I use it often. So I’ll be buying a new one soon. I guess no complaints I got it on clearance years ago for $8. So I’m not out much, I guess.
And of course all of this was between running my daughter to and from volleyball practice.
Oh and I’m sure you ladies want to know this but I pinched my boob with my Fitbit. I wear it on my bra because I’m not allowed to have watches or jewelry or anything that could fall into product at work. Well I was super busy and i had to adjust it and when I got home I realized i had pinched some skin in there. 🙄. It’s still been a good day. But a hectic one.
@mainebeachbum the apple watches are awesome. I’d totally have one if I could wear a watch all day. You will love it. And you deserve it. Congrats on 30 pounds lost!!!
@tryingagain5 I love the meme. That’s what it’s all about. Being a better healthier you than you were before!! Never forget that. And we are all on our way. The trick is to never stop trying.
@posperson1 just keep going. Sometimes the weight doesn’t make sense for all the effort. But it will eventually come off. You can do this!!!4 -
Tuesday 9/22
Food: good
Water: not enough
Exercise: 20 minute walk
My back was pretty sore last night at work. Not sure why, I didn't do anything to hurt it, must have tweaked it somehow. I put a heating pad on it when I got home and that felt pretty good. It was still a little sore when I got up so I decided not to go to the gym. I took a short walk around the condo complex with a neighbor and her dog.
After eating I took a short nap and then went to the local library. I had signed up for a sheet pan cooking class they were having. No actual cooking since there's no oven there. More of a presentation but it was nice. We were given some recipes and the lady who ran the class has a blog with a lot more recipes.
I have almost all the ingredients for one of the recipes. I plan on picking up what I don't have tomorrow and will make that for supper and will have enough for several days after that.2 -
Hello team and happy Tuesday. Its a beautiful day outside and I am just having a great day. I hope everyone is doing well!
Sheryl
I just love it when you pop in just to say you’re having a great day and spread the live, Sheryl. Did I tell you that I bought the dark chocolate hummus? Only because of you, my friend.1 -
Oh dear, I’ve missed a lot today. I’m thrilled with the insight and support you all share and really sorry to hear about your pinched boob, Kandi. I tired responding to individual posts but I’m not very adept in my phone, so I’ll catch up with you all tomorrow. You are all incredible!

Good morning, All! Happy Wednesday!
I was able to go into work late today so decided to do a longer walk with the dog before I left. OMG what a treacherous walk! The remnants of Hurricane Teddy are blowing by, and it’s really windy. I live on a country road (for example, I walked 40 minutes and only 1 car went by!) that is lined with oak trees! Acorns were flying everywhere! I probably should have worn a hard hat! It was crazy. And under all the oaks was a skating rink of acorns! But I survived without injury which is good for me! 🤗4 -

Well, at least it is a maintain! Might actually be a slight loss, have some substantial muscle soreness from gardening. Went after the weedy flower bed and now I'm stiff, sore and have blister(s?) on my fingers.
On the vertigo front, not much has changed. They found nothing on the MRI. I'm pretty pissed at the ENT...he seems very disinterested in actually figuring out what's going on. He's decided the vertigo is a new migraine symptom (never mind that the severity increased in conjunction with hearing loss, ear pain and tinnitus) and I should see a neurologist. To be fair, after 5 years of migraine silence, I've had 4 since the beginning of July (that's not terrible, before I sometimes had twice that in a month) but who wants to be fair? He says it is either migraine related or Meniere's (which I didn't want to hear, luckily, I'm mostly deaf in that ear!) but doesn't seem motivated to figure it out or try to treat it. But the ear stuff started in Jan. I don't like being half deaf. But I'll stop whining now.
I'm glad things are generally going well for everyone. I read the posts, I just don't have the time to comment much. I saw the words dark...chocolate...hummus...yum. Love that stuff.
@kandi3570 You buying your mom a fifth reminded me of my gran toting around a fifth of brandy when she travelled (she didn't think we knew). Don't know why...but made me laugh. Mmmm pineapple upside down...have not had that in years.3 -
@melaniedscott
The gardening is building muscle. I guarantee there is a loss that you’re not showing. Muscle weighs more than fat. 😁. I’m sorry about your vertigo. I’ve had a few voughts of slight vertigo. As I have had repeated ear infections most of J.Y. childhood and occasionally as a b adult. I’ve had ear drum replacement surgery and suffered through more than my share of perforated ear drums from the infections. So I have a slight understanding but not truly. My vertigo would only last a few days. I certainly hope they find the cause and can help you.3 -
I have a conference call I need to be on in a few minutes, so I'll get around to responding to all of you lovely folks sometime later today, but I wanted to make a quick post this morning, since I'm seeing the numbers on my scale go up, but the numbers on my measuring tape going down.
Am I over 165 lbs today?Absolutely, I am.Is more of that muscle than yesterday?You bet!
While the numbers on the scale still bother me, I know that I'm in a state of recomposition, and the extra muscle mass will only help me when it comes to getting rid of that pesky fat (hopefully the muscle knows how to target belly fat, because I could use a bit of help there!).
I haven't been on my best behavior this week, but I stuck to my workout schedule, and the routine has been helping me tremendously.3 -

Check in for Monday and Tuesday
Food-not logged but on plan
Water-at least 64 oz
Exercise-at least 30 min and PT
I slept until almost 10 yesterday! How weird! I never do that so I am guessing I needed it Lol! I thought the power must have went out when I saw the time. That kinda messed up my morning so I didn't get a chance to get on here. I have been doing bad with logging lately but I eat pretty much the same thing and I am following my plan so I am ok with that. I am still doing my hunger thing and had a little tantrum Monday night when I was full at 1/2 a chicken sandwich. I feel like I have cut back on so much and now only 1/2 a sandwich?! I did continue eating another bite or two and realized I needed to stop if I wanted to lose weight. I did some thinking and journaling(and dreaming) about it. I do know that my body doesn't need all the food. . I think if I make and put half of my meal away for another day, I will do better and not feel like I am eating half? Maybe then my half will be a whole? Idk....I really think for me that figuring out the overeating is really going to make a difference for me. I also think this is going to be a long process so you might get tired of hearing about it.
I am not going to be able to comment as much until Wednesday. As many of you know, my husband Jim was sick with Covid in late March through April. He almost died, he was on a ventilator for 13 days. It was scary. He decided when he felt better that he wanted to walk a marathon. He has been walking ever since. When he started we would barely get down the driveway, then we did a block and just kept increasing it until I would head back after a mile or two and he would continue. Friday we are having a "halfish marathon". ( We have measured several times and it is always different lol!) Our family and a few friends are going to walk with him. I tried to set it up as a marathon would be with help from @Cafelelia so I have been trying to get it all together. I am not walking but have plenty to do because we will be having house guests again from Thursday through Tuesday. I have to have meals and the usual things for having guests plus the marathon. I actually accepted help this time, especially from my one sister in law who likes to take over. I usually say no to her because of that but I am letting her do whatever she wants. It is taking a lot off my plate so I am also wondering why I have been a bugger about this before Lol! So, I am going to be busy with the marathon and guests so I won't be on here too much. I am also a little nervous about having all this food and snacks around. I am going to make plans each day, keep listening to my body with the hunger scale and get through this all successfully. I need to learn to be able to get through holidays, parties, events and house guests and stay true to my plan. I am usually good day to day, these are what give me trouble.
On top of all of this, Jim's 96 yo mom was put on Hospice yesterday. It is even harder because the family still can't visit. Jim was lucky because he was able to go to a doctor's appointment and was able to spend time with her. I know our family will be dedicating this walk to her. I am blessed to have her as a MIL.
@1theresamcvean @minstrelofsarcasm Can I move my weigh in day to Thursday for this week? I am sure with the marathon I will forget Friday Lol! I would actually make it today if I could so I don't have to worry about forgetting Lol!
@jedaschultz The scale is going the right way! Better than gaining too! You got this!
@tryingagain5 I hope your back is feeling better, good idea not to push it at the gym. People love that sheet pan cooking, you will have to let us know how that turns out.
@kandi3570 Turkey sounds so good with this cooler weather. I like that you allow yourself potatoes but in moderation. I have tried in the past but restriction never worked for me. I am better with having things in moderation.
@Cafelelia Thanksgiving in two weeks! Wow! Smart idea to start planning now.
@mainebeachbum Congrats on 30 pounds lost! I am sure you can get to onderland by New Years! There are a lot of things coming up as you pointed out but make a plan and you can get through it. Now you got me thinking where I would like to be by New Years... I LOVED my fitbit but got the apple watch for Christmas. It took a few months but it won me over. I love the apple watch now.
@lennoncpa Glad you were having a great Tuesday! Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday too!
@podperson1 Just get back on track! You got this!
@pacsnc6 I am glad that the itching is getting better. I am glad you are doing well!
@melaniedscott The social distancing comment with kissing 2020 goodbye! Lol! I am sorry to hear that the MRI didn't have any answers for you. I guess the neurologist is the next step then? I know it must be scary. I hope maybe Theresa can share her experience with you. She went through that too as you know. I am sending hugs.
@kandi3570 It is awesome how you keep it all together with your busy life. I had a fitbit that I wore on my bra but luckily that never happened to me Lol!
@1theresamcvean I can't respond on my phone either Lol! Too small. If I didn't have my computer I wouldn't be able to comment. Btw-the chocolate hummus I had at a party and didn't know it was hummus! It is good!
@minstrelofsarcasm Sometimes your posts are spot on for what I am feeling. Or maybe feeling the first part and needing to see the second.
5 -
@sleepymom5 that's so awesome about your husband Jim. I think its wonderful that you are all supporting him too. That is such a scary thing to go through - I'm glad he's improving and obviously its a slow process - so for him to have come so far is amazing!2
-
@1theresamcvean chocolate hummus! Interesting - so how was it?????0
