Evening all!
Announcement - I had to quit running club! My legs really hate it and hurt terribly for 36 hours after each run. So I finally had a video appointment with my doctor this morning. "Just stop running! " she said.
If I'm honest, I feel quite relieved. I wasn't enjoying it anyway!
So...
Steps and exercise update for 26th October:
Steps - 2082
Exercise - 42 mins Upper body strength workout
Welcome to all new team members 🙂
Good night 😴 Friends!

Don't you love it when you successfully discover something that does NOT work? It's a good thing to discover. You have been doing so well with your workouts - even though the running seemed like a good idea and the club people were wonderful, you figured out quickly that it was not for you and did not keep trying just to prove you were right somehow. Well done!5 -
Heads up! Tomorrow's weigh-ins:

Phew, I made it to the evening. Today was a busy day at work. I was totally sweating by the end! All the little darlings showed up for school today and they were busy. I had an awesome moment with one of my 3 year old students. This little friend is very impacted and does not play with any toys or use any tools functionally...yet. I got her to use scissors on her own! So amazing and teacher took videos for parents!!! Really exciting stuff and it definitely gave me the chills! Love those moments!
Came home and did my workout right away. I don't game but I am the clock master at home for my kids game time! Well, I cut them off so they went upstairs to pout. No mom guilt for working out today 😁 They came around later hee hee!
@micki48 We had about 5 inches of snow. Nothing crazy but enough to sled. It is starting to melt and we are going to be in the 50's by Halloween. I hope you run out of cookies soon. I bake some and then freeze the dough in balls. Then I bake a few at a time.
@yinxfed Running is definitely not for everyone. I think the idea of running sounds great. Then when I actually try it...yuck. Too hard on the joints. Bummer that you will miss out on the group part. Maybe a walking or hiking group 🤔4 -
Welcome to all the newcomers! This group offers fabulous support 😁
I went to work for a few hours Monday to catch up (I usually have Mondays off) and now I'm very disoriented as to what day it is lol. I made it to the gym 3 of the last 4 days, I might go today too if I don't work too late. Tried out a couple of new things yesterday for the core and wow. I feel it today 😂
Twice this week I've had the opportunity to go out for dinner and both times I chose to eat at home which is definitely going to help the scale next week! Logging everything, making healthier choices, it's going good.
@YinxFed Nothing wrong with learning what doesn't work for you! I've read that fast walking is actually healthier than running because you still get the cardio without that joint damage. Personally I can't do planks, every time I do my neck or back are messed up for days so I just don't plank any more. We all have our things.
@conleywoods it is amazing work that you do! Your students are very blessed to have someone that cares so much about them.
@micki48 I'm not sure if this is helpful, but I have to say I appreciate your (and everyone else's) openness about your struggles, because if not for that I surely would have given up over the last few months when I had my struggles. It takes a lot of strength to admit we're having a hard time and I appreciate you for doing so. We all have ups and downs and Im sure your ups are coming soon! (if not already in action?)5 -
Happy Wednesday!
It is another grey one here, with lazy snowflakes drifting down. And we can't have a fire in our heating stoves because the chimney sweep is coming tomorrow morning! We have electric for backup, but it just isn't the same. I love the wood heat, even though it is a pain in the *kitten* sometimes and those really, really cold mornings turn into a contest: who can pretend to be asleep the longest so that the other one has to get up to take out the ashes and make the fire
I am planning today. Lots of planning. Including a reboot to my exercise routine - I need to adjust to the new weather reality and stop counting on long walks outside. Until snowshoeing season starts - my fave! You'll all be tired of hearing about that once it starts. I'm a bit of a fanatic
I love hearing your plans. Keep 'em coming!4 -

Good morning!
Thank you for adding me to the team. I start in November. I’m super excited, and ready for my journey.
I started October 1 at 200 pounds.
I think having a team will make all the difference.
Cheers!3 -

I'm on my afternoon shift so I was afraid I would cave and eat too much breakfast or lunch before getting to work to weigh in and I wouldn't break the 220 limit that I hoped for this week, but I just squeaked in! That means I get to join my co-workers for (one slice) pizza night tonight before its back to good behaviour for next week.
@jugar I haven't done snowshoeing since grade school but want to get into it! We have a great trail system in my municipality and my neighbours rave about it. I'm going to have to budget for some used snowshoes this winter, and hope they don't all vanish like the kayaks for sale did this summer due to covid making everyone so active outdoors cause they couldn't travel!
Happy Wednesday everyone!5 -
Hi Waist Aways... Please welcome @MandiSaysHey4
-
@jugar It's so crazy for me to hear you talk about gearing up for winter when summer and beach season is starting in my corner of the world!
snowshoeing sounds so fun though!

Hi everyone! I am glad to be here. I am a 33yo mom to a 10yo boy. I have struggled with weight my entire life, but especially as an adult. I have been an emotional eater and a stress eater. I have been heavy since childhood but it's been the worst since my son was small and I was struggling through working retail and eating out a lot along with being a young single mom with limited cooking skills. As my son has grown I have learned to enjoy cooking more and more. I have had an up and down weight for the last 10 years but currently at my lowest since 2009 and less than 4 lbs from my first mini goal of 235 which is what I weighed when I found out I was pregnant with my son in 2009. I am excited to be here. 😊8

I blame weekend eating! Though probably just water retention/etc ;(5 -
Welcome to all the new members! November will be just my third month with the group, but I think it has already made such an impact for me in terms of consistency and having somewhere to share gripes. We're all in this boat.
I think for November goals, I want to increase the focus on putting together really filling dinners that incorporate a lot of veggies. Also designing a new workout plan for the month, I think I want to focus on my arms in particular and throw in a lot of cardio, while also slightly increasing my daily active min. (Gotten too used to 30-40 min of working out and I think I need to kick my own butt a bit more now to keep seeing results).
I also know November will start high for me because Friday is my birthday and Saturday is Halloween and I just don't want to worry about calories on those 2 favorite days of the year haha. But I did mentally set a # goal for end of November that I think is doable despite the candy corn I will consume.5 -
I turned down a donut at work today because my lunch and dinner will be a little higher calorie. It was hard but I did it.
I will be accepting pie at work on Friday because I will plan ahead for it. Also Pie Junkie makes the best salted honey pie.
Fridays are my cardio days anyway. I think my game finally updated so I'll burn some calories in a comfortable, safe virtual reality.5 -
@YinxFed Ilove the idea of running, but I have never really loved it. One time I read that
walking is actually better for you because it easier on your joints and doesn't increase your appetite as much. I don't know if that is true, but that has aways been excuse.
@jguldi11 Great job getting to the gym and avoiding eating out.
Welcome new friends!
I have been slacking with my eating for the past two weeks. The scale showed it last week and I am a little worried about this week. I did a lot of meal planning and prepping today. I am ready to turn it around.
On a fun note- we had a snow day yesterday! We had record breaking heat last week and then record breaking snow. We got about 6 inches and it has pretty much melted already. I got a great workout i pulling the little kids around in the sled and then we walked to a hill so the big kids could down.3 -
Evening Friends!
So I took Edie (my little dog) out for a walk at lunchtime. She was extremely uncooperative and refused to match her trotting speed with my power walking, insisting on sniffing out the landscape every couple of minutes! She's lucky that I love her so much 💕
We will be walking again!
